This sequel takes place sometime after my first fanfic. There will be more returning characters from the show and my first fanfic along with more new ones in this story.

Chapter 42 Two Cases

Time continued go by in the bunker as Gwen enjoyed her new job at the antique store and used Sam's car during the day to drive into Smith Center for her job and then came right back, while Sam busied his time hanging out either with Dean, Adam or Charlie or just all four them including Ava sometimes going out somewhere to pass the time. Castiel didn't pop up too often but when he did, it felt like the family was complete as he would too be included in their past times. When Gwen was home after her work was over, sometimes Sam would use the car to take her out just the two of them or other times, the whole gang went out in the evenings. Gwen still had her girl times with Ava and even Charlie occasionally tagged along, and Sam also had his bro times with Dean with Adam sometimes tagging along as well.

The month of May quickly flew by and then it was June as the weather started getting warmer. As summer was entering, the whole gang talked about going to a concert or camping, or just going on a road trip maybe all the down to California since Gwen always wanted to go. However, sometime that month, the gang finally found another case or actually two cases. Garth whom they haven't heard from in a long time called them out of the blue to tell them about a case he heard from the news and did more research about online that was in Pleasantville, Ohio and it involved people being killed by seemingly animal attacks and he had suspected possibly a werewolf or werewolves since it they fit the profile. The second case they read in the newspaper and did more research about it also online too that is in Houma, Louisiana in the swamps that involved the sightings of a swamp creature.

"Okay, you and Sam will take one case and me and Charlie got the other one" Ava said to Dean when they were all in the main room.

"You and Charlie, what do you mean you and Charlie?" Dean asked.

"She means that I'm going with her on the hunt" Charlie said.

"What!" Dean cried out quite taken aback by the news.

"Yeah, we wanted to tell you sooner, but Charlie wants to go with me on the next hunting case and I said she could, after all two is better than one" Ava replied to trying to soften the blow although she knew both Dean and Sam would flip.

"Hunting case, and you are just telling me this right now!" cried out Dean who was bit angry and concerned about this.

"Well, we both knew how you feel about it, I guess we wanted to wait for the right time, but yeah, but look at it this way, you don't have to worry so much now that I have a hunting partner too" Ava replied still hoping Dean would be reasonable about this.

"Yeah, but Charlie isn't ready yet" Dean said.

"What do you mean I'm not ready yet?" Charlie cried a bit annoyed.

"I mean you don't have the experience as me, Sam and Ava, do, it's just too soon for you to be out there hunting risking your life" Dean told her although he didn't know who he was trying to convince more her or himself.

"In case you have forgotten, I have hunted before, I worked on my own and I even worked with the two of you. Plus, when I was in Oz, I was trained to fight against the Witch's army, I can more than hold my own" Charlie snapped back.

"Yeah, she told me stories about her fighting the baddies in Oz, you know I still can't believe that such a place actually exist especially since it was all from a bunch of children's books and that our Charlie here was there fighting off the witch's' henchmen, that it's so heavy and awesome" Adam said as both Dean and Sam turned to him and gave him a stern look as if to say "Shut up Adam" which did the trick as he quickly stopped talking.

"The bottom-line is I don't plan on staying shut up in this place for the rest of my life while you guys get to go around the country hunting and killing monsters, I never did, and I really want to do this" Charlie said.

"Hey, look Charlie, I get it, it's just that ever since what happened, I guess we have been a bit overprotective, afraid of losing you again. Of course, we never expected you to never take risks again but maybe we feel you just need more time before you're fully ready to get back into the game just to take extra caution" Dean said.

"I know, I was scared too after what happened to me. I still have nightmares about the Stynes and always wondered what I could have done differently to prevent it. I even rationalized to myself I wasn't ready yet, just needed more time but in reality, I was just scared and had lost my nerve to go out and start hunting again. However, while you guys are away, I trained a lot at the shooting range, even on improving my fighting skills sometimes with Adam and even with Ava here and one day realized, I can't keep letting my fear hold me back and or I'll never try again. I have learned from my past mistakes with the Stynes incident and know I won't repeat it. This is something I got to do guys and I am willing to take the risks that come with it, the same as you all are, it's no different" Charlie explained.

Both Dean and Sam looked touched by what she said as they understood where it was coming from as they just stood there hesitant on what to say next.

"Hey, you guys, she can handle herself, I know, and she knows her stuff" Ava said.

"Yeah, I mean when she practiced her skills on me, she even whooped my ass one time, I wouldn't underestimate her" Adam added.

"Anyway, she won't be alone as I'll be there with her to have her back" Ava said.

"Hey, we will have each other's back" Charlie corrected.

"Yeah, and anyway, I already said she could join me and it's her decision not yours" Ava remined them.

"That's right guys, as much as I'm touched that you're scared for me, I don't need your permission for this" Charlie added.

Both Dean and Sam turned and glanced at each other as they paused on what to say then turned back to Charlie. Dean let out a sigh.

"Charlie, you're right, you can make your own decisions and I guess we were being so protective that we kept rational-sizing to ourselves that you're not ready out of our own fears and maybe our guilt over what happened in the past and maybe we don't want to admit that we never wanted you to get out hunting again but like you said, you can't let fear holding you back from doing what you like and neither can we" Dean said.

"Yeah, Dean's right, deep down we know you can take care of yourself, and we need to stop being so overprotective and trust you just like we always trust ourselves and Ava and, in the end, it is your choice, so if you want to start hunting again, you got our support" Sam told her.

"Oh, thank you guys, you don't know how much that means to me" Charlie said.

"Well, just please be careful on your cases and make sure you stick with Ava, she can look after you whenever you're in any trouble" Dean said.

"Or I can look after her if she's in any trouble too" Charlie added.

"Okay, fair enough" Dean said.

"The only thing that is important is you stay safe" Sam said.

"We'll do" Charlie replied.

"And what about me?" Ava remarked sarcastically.

"Hey, I always know that you will be safe, darling" Dean told her slyly.

"Same goes for you" Ava said.

"Okay, now that we got that settled what about me, when is it my turn to go hunting with you guys?" Adam asked as everybody turned to him.

"You know, it gets annoying for me too just being hold up in the bunker while you all go galloping about doing the family business of catching and killing monsters" he went on. "Hey, you are definitely not ready yet" Dean said. "Why the hell not, you know I've been training in the shooting range whenever you guys are away and I'm getting better in my kickboxing classes, and when we're training together, I can use a sword and an angel blade almost as good as you I even got to take you down the last time when you showed me some of those fighting moves and I've studied everything I know about how to make devil's traps, perform exorcisms, I practically have memorized those words and I have read a lot of books on spells and Lores and about everything, yet you're okay with Charlie hunting and not me? " Adam replied almost in one sentence.

"You know Dean, he kind of has a point. I mean he has gotten a bit better this past year and he did get you good the last time you were training" Sam added as Dean just had an almost an embarrassed look on his face but he then just swallowed and turned to Adam again.

"Look, you've only been training in this for less than a year, with Charlie at least she had more experience and hunting is not that simple as you make it sound, I'm just not comfortable taking you out on a mission with us in such a short time" Dean said.

"Hey, how long do I have to wait, I mean I didn't know there is a certain amount of time you have to wait to go out hunting, I mean didn't our dad let you go out when you were still kids" Adam said getting a bit exasperated.

"Hey, you know Dean, just like with Charlie we can't keep Adam caged up here forever, and we don't need to have him wait years of training to start hunting with us I mean we gave Charlie our blessing" Sam reminded him.

Dean just grunted a little and then let out a little sigh.

"Alright, look Adam, let's give it another year and if you are still sure about hunting then we will take you out on a case with us, alright" Dean said.

"Another year!" cried out Adam.

"Hey, in the meantime, you can just continue on with your training at the shooting range, the kickboxing and me and Sam will still work with you some fighting moves" Dean said.

Adam then turned to Sam hoping he would back him up again.

"Hey, I actually agree with Dean on this one, just wait another year Adam just keep doing what you're doing in the meantime" Sam told him.

"Yeah, and after about a year, then we may give it a try, but only if you agree to stick by us and do what we say, we don't want you trying to be brave" Dean said.

"Okay fine" Adam said not seeming to pleased. "Oh great, I get to be stuck in this mausoleum for about another freaking year, while all of you get to gallop around doing all the important stuff" he went on a bit annoyed.

"Hey, you won't be all alone, I'll be here to keep you company" Gwen said.

"Yeah, but you will be at your job during the day, so I will be all alone most the day now that Charlie is going on hunts" Adam said.

"Well, you could consider getting a job yourself in the meantime if you are feeling that bored" Dean told him.

"A job? I want to start hunting someday, no point in getting a job for about a year only to quit, besides, I already tried looking for work around here and in the nearby towns, there is nothing" Adam told him.

"Well, suit yourself, you'll find something useful to do, but in the meantime just keep yourself busy training" Sam told him.

"I guess I don't have a choice" Adam said.

"Just hang in there bro" Sam said.

"Yeah, you'll be out of this bunker someday and then you are going to really kick some ass" Charlie told him.

"Yeah, well, don't jump the shark just yet, whenever that happens you will be on a probation period, okay there" Dean reminded him.

"Aye, aye sir" Adam said saluting being sarcastic.

"Okay, okay now that we got that all settled, we need to figure out who' s taking which case" Ava said.

"Well, I think me and Sam, should take the one in Pleasantville, you and Charlie get the one in Louisiana" Dean told her.

"Wait a minute, why can't we take the alleged werewolf case and you the case in Louisiana?" Charlie added.

"What's the big deal?" Dean asked.

"The big deal is how come you get to the decide which cases everybody takes?" Charlie said.

"She does have a point there, Dean" Ava chimed in.

Dean just sighed over this debate already. "Okay, fine, we will flip a coin for it okay, he told them as he pulled out a nickel from his pants pocket where he had some loose change.

"Anyway, heads or tails? he asked the women.

"Oh, me and Charlie will take tails" Ava said.

"Okay, me and Sam take heads. Heads, me and Sam take the case in Pleasantville, tails you and Charlie will, agreed?" he replied to them.

Both Charlie and Ava nodded. "Agreed" they both said at the same time.

"Okay then" Dean replied as he flipped the coin and then caught it and then he and Sam looked at it.

"Okay, it's heads, me and Sam take the case in Ohio" he told them as he showed them the coin that landed on heads.

"Alright, that means me and Charlie take the swamp case in Louisiana" Ava replied.

"Okay glad that is finally settled" Adam replied.

"Tomorrow morning we'll out for our new cases then" Dean said.

"I can't wait" Charlie said a bit excited.

"It's going to be very long drives to where we need to get and it will likely take us a day to get there" Sam reminded them.

"Yeah, I know that other case I went to in Austin, Texas took me a least a day, so make sure you pack your sleeping bag" Ava told Charlie.

Later late that night, they all retired to bed early at 10pm and neither of the couples had sex that night just went to sleep so they could have a nice long rest. They got up early the next morning at five. They quickly washed up, no shower and got dressed. They already pack everything they needed for the trips the previous day before dinner. Gwen had also spent the previous day preparing their lunches for the trip. She had bought some subways and bags of potato chips and bottles of juice and bottles of water as well as other snacks. She packed them all in a big brown bag for each of the couple and she made breakfast for them that morning. Scrambled eggs, grits and sausages. It was a Saturday, so she didn't have to be at work that morning and she offered to take Adam go out that day and maybe see a movie or something.

After breakfast Adam helped Gwen clean up while the others all got prepared for their trips. When it was nearly five minutes to seven, they all decided to leave and headed for the garage.

"Well, good luck with your case" Dean said to Ava.

Update:

This was posted a bit later than I planned. Sometimes I will get wrapped up in other things and might post chapters later than usually hoping I will post them every two or three weeks but not making promises. Besides It's my birthday today so wishing me a Happy Birthday. Thanks again hope you keep reading and enjoying the stories and I hope to hear any reviews.

"Good luck with yours" Ava told him back and they soon were in an embrace engaging in a passionate goodbye kiss.

Sam and Gwen also engaged in their goodbye kiss while Adam and Charlie just watched rolling their eyes as they had seen this countless times before, whenever they prepare for a case. They soon stopped kissing and contiuned saying their goodbyes to Adam and Gwen. Then Dean and Sam got into the Impala while Ava and Charlie got into their van and within a minute they were off driving out of the now open garage as Gwen and Adam stood there and continued to wave yelling goodbye to them. Within a couple of minutes, both vehicles were out of sight.
