Chapter Eighteen
Don's room..
Don was awake when they walked into the room and the Eppes were relieved to see him smiling, as no doubt he had been given some pain killers. Alan internally decided when this is all over, they are having a celebration dinner.
Preferably with steak and/or brisket.
Charlie was immediately by Don's side, as he still couldn't get that image of those two…men taking him and he needed real insurance that his older brother was okay.
Don seemed to read his mind and simply gave his brother a small reassuring smile to indicate that he was mostly okay.
Before Don was able to say anything, Charlie spoke up first.
"Donnie, you will be staying with us when you get out of the hospital, no argument and your team will keep you in the loop in the case but you are out of commission." Charlie quickly said, releasing some anxiety he had been feeling for much of the day.
Don simply just nodded, as he was too tired to even argue about it and he knew that Megan and the rest of the team would be able to handle the rest of the case. He also saw the knowing smiles of everyone else in the room, and he was cornered no matter what.
And besides, the two goons who took them are either behind the thing and it has been stopped, as he had no idea of what their condition was after the crash or the car will provide them some evidence.
'I just hope this won't cause too many complications.' He thought as he continued to be looked on by his family and team, just grateful to be alive.
