Arizona smiled as she pulled out her keys and unlocked her and Callie's apartment door. She had gotten out of an extensive surgery two hours ago and then had run to the store to pick up the last pieces for the couple's costumes that the blonde had picked out. The couple had been invited to Mark's extravagant Halloween Bash tonight, and Arizona was so excited. Mark went all out for this party every year. This year, he rented a venue and got a party planner to ensure everything was in order. Word on the street was that this year's theme was extra spooky.
Arizona felt like a child on Christmas morning who could barely control her excitement. This was her third favorite holiday of all time, after all, and with a bit of luck, she could have as much candy as she wanted because Callie would be too distracted by how hot the blonde looked in her costume. The Latina had been very serious about controlling Arizona's sugar intake, and it had gotten to the point where Callie had threatened to take away ice cream if she found Arizona eating it from the container at 3:00 A.M. one more time. Of course, it had only happened a few times, and that's when the shorter woman was in desperate need of sugar, but Callie was tired of being scared shitless by a ravaging ice cream monster in the middle of the night when she got up to get a glass of water.
"I'm home!" the blonde called out in a sing-song voice. Arizona's mood had been so great all day that she was lucky her body didn't float off on a cloud of cotton candy. She had been dreaming about this night for weeks, and it was finally here.
"In here!" came Callie's voice from the bathroom. Arizona made her way down the hall and stopped in the room's doorway. Looking into the mirror was Callie, who wore a long black dress as she applied bright red lipstick. She had straightened her hair, and it made it look so long. Arizona felt like a lump in her throat, and she noticed the feeling of heat pooling between her legs.
"Callie, what are you wearing?" asked the blonde, trying to distract herself from the feelings south of her waist.
"My costume. Your costume is hanging up in the room," Callie replied, looking at her girlfriend's reflection in the mirror. She noticed that Arizona's eyes had darkened a few shades and bit her cheek to hide the smirk she felt forming. The Latina was pleased to realize her costume had the desired effect on the blonde she wanted. She was totally getting laid tonight.
"Wait, you picked out our costumes? I thought I was going to," Arizona said as her eyebrows furrowed together and she held up the costumes in her right hand. Callie turned around to look at her girlfriend and gave her a confused look.
"No, we decided that I would get the costumes. I asked you about going as Gomez and Morticia Addams, and you told me that was fine," the brunette said as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. The couple had discussed this a few weeks ago, one night after work. Arizona had wanted to go as something that Callie thought was 'nerdy,' and Callie had wanted to go as something sexy, so the two had agreed on Gomez and Morticia to appease them both. Apparently, the blonde had forgotten that conversation.
"I swear that we had decided to go as Han Solo and Princess Leia from Star Wars Calliope," Arizona said as she held up the costumes again. Callie snickered and covered her mouth.
"I'm sorry, babe, but I will not go as Princess Leia from Star Trek," the Latina replied. Arizona had tried to get her to watch Star Wars a few times, but Callie could never really get into it. It just bored her. The blonde's face fell in disappointment, and she lowered the costumes.
"It's Star Wars, not Star Trek," Arizona said as she turned around to enter the bedroom. Maybe she would just stay home from the party. She had picked up a big bag of candy at the store, which would suffice for the night.
Arizona laid the costumes down on the bed and plopped down beside them. She had thought it was odd that Callie had agreed to go as Han and Leia with her, but she didn't question it because it had made her so happy to think about it. Now that her dream had been crushed, Arizona only wanted to lay in their bed and eat candy until she reached the point of a candy coma. The blonde was staring at the ceiling and thinking about opening the bag of candy when she heard the bedroom door open and then felt the mattress sag beside her as her girlfriend lay down.
"Arizona, please don't be upset," Callie said as she tried to get the shorter woman to look at her. Arizona didn't want to look at the brunette because she knew that if she did, she would get even more upset. Instead, she continued to look at the ceiling. Taking the blonde's silence as an answer, Callie got up from the bed with a sigh and unzipped the back of the black dress. She shimmied out of it and grabbed the white Princess Leia dress that Arizona had brought home.
Arizona, watching Callie out of the corner of her eye, started feeling butterflies in her stomach at the sight of her girlfriend putting on the Leia costume. The blonde rolled over to Callie's side of the bed and grabbed the brunette by the waist, pulling her down onto the bed.
"Arizona, what-" Callie managed to get out before Arizona crawled on top of her and attacked her face with thousands of little kisses. This caused Callie to giggle as she grabbed the blonde's hips and held them while Arizona continued her attack. After what seemed like a century, the shorter woman finally stopped kissing Callie and sat up, looking at her girlfriend's beautiful brown eyes. She smiled down at her with the perfectly dimpled smile the brunette absolutely adored.
"Thank you, Calliope," Arizona said in a quiet voice. Her heart was so full of love that it felt like it could burst at any moment. "I love you so much."
Callie rolled her eyes playfully, and then her face broke into a goofy grin.
"You are lucky that I love you because I wouldn't dress up as Princess Leia for just anybody," the Latina said. Arizona smiled even bigger and leaned in, connecting their lips for a passionate kiss that left the couple breathless. "You better go get dressed. We don't want to be late, Han Solo," Callie said as she wiggled her eyebrows at the blonde. Arizona rolled off the brunette and snatched up her own costume, excited to put it on.
After the couple had their costumes on, they double-checked to ensure they had everything and headed down the hallway to leave for the party. Arizona walked out of the apartment first, and even though Callie wasn't into Star Wars, she had to admit that Arizona's ass looked great in that costume. Watching her girlfriend walk down the hallway, she locked the apartment door and followed after Arizona. When they got to the elevator, Callie hit the call button, and the couple waited for the doors to open before getting on.
Once the elevator doors shut, the brunette couldn't help herself any longer, and she grabbed Arizona by the waist and pinned the blonde against the elevator wall. Callie attacked her girlfriend with hungry kisses that slowly descended the pale neck. Arizona, who wasn't complaining about the sudden makeout session, grabbed Callie's hips and pulled the brunette into her even more. Callie reached the blonde's sensitive spot on her neck and nipped at it, eliciting a soft moan from her girlfriend. Suddenly, the elevator dinged, signaling that it had reached the ground floor, and the couple sprung apart and adjusted their costumes as the doors opened. Grabbing Callie's hand and lacing their fingers together, Arizona led them out of the apartment complex and to their car.
"That was hot," the blonde said breathlessly once she was sure no one else was around. Callie used their intertwined hands to pull Arizona closer while they walked.
"That is only the beginning," the Latina husked into Arizona's ear, which caused the long-forgotten feelings to return south of her waist. This was going to be a long night.
Once they had arrived at the party, the couple made their way inside. It seemed as though Mark had gone all out. There were all kinds of decorations: cobwebs, skeletons, bats hanging from the ceiling, etc. Arizona looked around, and the turnout was decent so far. People were scattered around the venue in varying costumes, and Mark had rented some fog machines and different colored lights to amp up the vibe. The blonde was practically vibrating with excitement. Callie turned to look at her girlfriend and smiled at how the shorter woman's eyes were glowing with curiosity and fascination.
"Let's go say hi," Callie said as she pointed at Mark across the room. Mark, who noticed the couple, waved them over. As they made their way over, Callie noticed he was dressed in a toga with sandals and a golden halo of leaves sitting on his head. Mark spun around in a circle so the couple could get the full view of his costume, and the brunette raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow. "What are you supposed to be?" she asked, unsure.
"I'm a Greek god," Mark replied with a smirk. Of course, he would be dressed as a god out of all the costumes in the world. The Latina rolled her eyes at Mark and looked to Arizona, who was still looking around at the decorations. "And what are you?" Mark asked confusedly because he could have sworn that Callie had said the couple was coming as the Addams family. Arizona turned her head to look at Mark, and a goofy grin appeared on her face.
"I'm Han Solo, and Cal is Princess Leia," the blonde replied. Mark, who had no idea what Arizona was talking about, gave her a blank stare. "From Star Wars?" she asked, trying to see if that rang a bell with the man.
"Sorry, kid, I don't speak nerd," Mark said, leaving to greet other guests. Despite her best efforts, Callie snickered a bit, which got her a dirty look from her girlfriend. The brunette turned and grabbed Arizona by the hips, and pulled her closer.
"Well, I think we look great," Callie said as Arizona rolled her eyes.
"Nice save," the blonde replied sarcastically. "I'm going to go get something to drink. Do you want anything?" Arizona asked, needing a moment to herself.
"I'm okay for now," Callie said, and as Arizona turned to go, the brunette smacked her ass, causing the shorter woman to jump and flash Callie an embarrassed smile.
Arizona went to the open bar setup to get a drink and noticed a giant bowl of individually wrapped candy bars sitting on the counter. The blonde ordered her drink and then poked around the bowl to get an idea of what types of candy it contained. Locating some Kit Kats and Twix bars, Arizona looked around to see if Callie was looking in her direction. The Latina seemed distracted by Yang, who was probably telling Callie about her latest surgical accomplishment. When she was sure that her girlfriend wasn't looking her way, Arizona grabbed a handful of the candy bars and stuffed them into her pockets to snack on throughout the night. The bartender finished making the drink and handed it to the blonde, who took it and decided to rejoin Callie.
Listening to Yang gloat about the famous heart in a box for the millionth time, Callie felt an arm wrap around her waist and rest on her hip. Looking to the left, she saw that Arizona had joined her again. The brunette smiled at her girlfriend, completely forgetting about Cristina and the story she had heard so many times she could probably repeat it word for word.
"Have I told you how hot that costume makes you look?" Callie asked the blonde in a low whisper. It was true. Something about the shirt with the top few buttons undone and the vest just did it for her, not to mention the holster for the blaster on Arizona's right hip. It drove Callie crazy. Arizona leaned into her girlfriend and tightened her grip around the taller woman's waist.
"No, but you can show me later," Arizona replied as she winked at the brunette. This made Callie feel almost feral. Something told her that the couple would be leaving the party early.
"Speaking of costumes, what made you go with the classic version of Leia instead of the sexy gold bikini?" Callie asked, genuinely curious because she remembered her girlfriend bringing up the bikini outfit every time she rewatched the movies. The Latina noticed Arizona's eyes had a mischievous glint, and the blonde smirked.
"Oh, I got the bikini too, Cal. It's for later, though… after the party," Arizona replied. She couldn't decide between classic Leia or bikini Leia, and knowing how good the brunette would look in the bikini, Arizona had hidden it for later when the couple was alone. The shorter woman watched Callie's face change, and her eyes darkened with lust. Pleased with the reaction, Arizona took her arm away from the Latina's hips and turned around to make conversation with someone else, leaving Callie feeling frustrated. Hopefully, this party would fly by so the couple could return to the apartment.
About an hour and a half later, Callie looked around the party to find her girlfriend, but coming up empty, she walked over to Mark. He was talking to Lexie, who wore a costume similar to his.
"Mark, have you seen Arizona lately?" Callie asked as she scanned the room another time for the blonde. Mark, who seemed too caught up in his girlfriend, quickly glanced around the room and shrugged.
"I haven't seen her since we last spoke," he said, returning his attention to Lexie. Callie looked at Lexie to see if she knew.
"I think I saw her go to the bathroom," little Grey said as she pointed towards the bathroom across the venue. Callie thanked them and walked to the bathroom, hoping that Arizona was there. When the brunette reached the door, she opened it and entered the multi-stall bathroom. All of the stalls were empty except for one.
"Arizona…?" Callie asked hesitantly. The Latina hoped it was her girlfriend because nothing is more embarrassing than assuming that the person on the other side is someone you know, and it isn't. A few silent seconds passed with no response, and Callie turned to leave the bathroom, hoping to exit before the stranger came out of the stall, but then she heard a familiar groan.
"Callie…" came a weak reply from the stall. Callie heard the stall door unlatch, and it swung open slowly. Looking in, the brunette was met with the sight of Arizona sitting on the bathroom floor next to the toilet. Confused about why her girlfriend was sitting on the dirty bathroom floor, Callie went to say something but noticed that the blonde was clammy and looked a little green.
"Babe, did you drink too much?" the Latina asked after she realized that Arizona was probably in there because she had gotten sick. The shorter woman shook her head no and clutched her stomach in pain. "Are you okay? Did you eat something bad?" Callie asked, not exactly sure what to do.
"Candy-" was all the blonde managed to get out before she threw up again. After she had emptied the contents of her stomach, Arizona leaned against the wall and sunk back down to the floor, letting out a low groan.
"How much did you eat, Arizona?" Callie asked, now a little pissed off. She crossed her arms in front of her chest and stood there, waiting for an answer.
"A lot Cal. Please, can we go home?" Arizona replied, knowing that the brunette was pissed. She couldn't help it; the candy was just too good, and it was already too late when she realized she had overeaten. Callie let out a huff of frustration and entered the stall to pick up the blonde so they could go home.
"A lot! Arizona Marie Robbins, I swear to god, how many times do I have to tell you to lay off the candy?" Callie snapped in frustration as she lifted her girlfriend off the floor and started to carry her out of the bathroom. This happened every time the blonde was exposed to candy without restriction. Callie knew that Arizona had a sweet tooth, which was okay, but Arizona had no control and always ended up sick or bouncing off the walls. All the shorter woman could do in response was groan. The motion of Callie picking her up had jostled her stomach again, and she was feeling nauseous.
Thirty minutes later, the couple had made it back to their apartment. Luckily, Arizona had managed not to throw up in the car, and for that, Callie was grateful. She just knew that it would have made their car reek for days, and the brunette didn't think she could have handled that. Helping her girlfriend change into pajamas, Callie then let Arizona lay in bed.
"Do you want some water?" she asked as she got a dose of anti-nausea medication. Arizona shook her head no and closed her eyes, trying to subdue the churning in her stomach. Callie hated to see her girlfriend like this, but she didn't feel sorry. The blonde knew what would happen, but she consumed probably a year's worth of candy anyway. Sometimes, Arizona could be so stubborn, and it drove Callie mad. "Do you want to go to bed?" the Latina asked, to which Arizona also shook her head no. "Okay," Callie replied quietly as she turned to leave the room. She wished she knew how to make Arizona feel better, but everything she suggested was shot down. Then, Callie had a light bulb moment.
Callie entered the bedroom in Princess Leia's iconic gold bikini ten minutes later. She had found it in Arizona's bag when she put everything away after they got home from the party. The Latina had to admit, she did look great in it. Arizona peeked one eye open to look at her girlfriend and then shot up in the bed at the sight of Callie in the bikini.
"Cal…" Arizona said, her voice barely above a whisper. The blonde knew that Callie would look great in the bikini, but she didn't realize it would be this hot. Suddenly feeling cured of her illness, Arizona went to get up from the bed, but Callie pushed her back down.
"Don't move. This is only to make you feel better, not anything else," the brunette said with a smirk. After seeing her girlfriend in the Han Solo costume all night, it was her turn to make the blonde speechless. Arizona watched as Callie got on the bed and crawled up to the shorter woman. Once they were face to face, Arizona leaned in to kiss the Latina but was stopped with a finger pushed against her chest.
"Absolutely not Arizona. You just spent the past hour throwing up, and you haven't brushed your teeth," Callie said seriously, instantly ruining the mood. Arizona opened her mouth to protest, but the brunette pushed her finger into the blonde's chest even more. "Don't you even! I am SO not kissing you!" Callie exclaimed.
"I kissed you after you got sick that time that you had to give a lecture, Callie!" Arizona said with a pout on her face. She thought the whole thing was ridiculous because the two practically share a toothbrush, so it wouldn't matter either way.
"Yeah, and that wasn't my choice. You are insane, and that is so gross," the brunette replied with a shudder. It was disgusting, and she was adamant that her girlfriend wouldn't get a kiss unless she had brushed her teeth and used mouthwash. Despite the resistance, Arizona tried to kiss Callie again, but the taller woman moved just in time and stood up from the bed. "Arizona Marie!" Callie yelled in surprise. Could the woman not take no for an answer? This prompted Arizona to flash a devious grin at her girlfriend, and Callie knew precisely what would happen.
Arizona jumped off the bed in two seconds to grab Callie, but the brunette was faster and ran out the door and down the hallway.
"CALLIOPE, KISS ME DAMMIT!" Arizona yelled as she chased Callie down the hallway. The shorter woman managed to grab Callie by the waist, and she knocked the Latina down. Arizona then clambered on top of her and managed to pin her girlfriend to the floor. Callie started to scream and tried to push the blonde away.
"DON'T YOU DARE KISS ME ARIZONA!" Callie managed to get out. Arizona playfully puckered her lips to kiss the brunette and then suddenly stopped. Confused about why her girlfriend stopped, Callie opened her eyes and noticed that Arizona had turned green again. She jumped off the Latina and ran to the bathroom, barely making it before she got sick again. "This is why we have rules about your sugar intake, babe!" Callie hollered after the blonde, hoping that this would be enough to teach Arizona a lesson about overconsuming candy.
"Yeah, well, happy Halloween to me!" came a groan from the bathroom. Callie rolled her eyes and shook her head. It was going to be a long night.
