"LT Desmos welcome to the Orion" said Colonel Gabrielle. "I believe you have a status report of your fleet you would like to give us." LT Desmos was a young male in his mid twenties wearing a Scorpian SDF uniform.

"Yes sir. Just before the Cylon attack the Aphid was sent to the Acheron Belt to check on some suspected smuggling activity. When the attack happened we got orders to help rescue any Naval ships that were damaged or inoperable by the CNP virus" said LT Desmos. "Sagittaron Fleet Command had taken over as we could not reach Scorpian SDF."

The Scorpian Fleetyards were almost a third of the total Fleet repair and construction facilities for the entire Cyrannus System. They would be the premiere target of the Cylons. The Scorpian SDF on the planet itself was probably not a first strike target but due to standard cost cutting reasons was very close to where the Colonial dirtside base was located. Quite possibly the Scorpian SDF (which was one of the smaller ones due to the heavy regular Navy presence by the system making their SDF less needed) Admiralty had been hit due to proximity to the groundside Naval base. Standing orders were if the Scorpian Admiralty could not be reached any Scorpian SDF ships would take orders from either Colonial or Sagittaron senior officers.

"Sir, the Saggies had been told to gather up forces and then after Admiral Ngala had taken out the main Cylon forces to be ready for a counterattack. There was a nearby Colonial Gunstar the Shaitan squawking distress. Their long range dradis was offline. We jumped to the Shaitan and were able to destroy the Cylon Raiders attacking it" said LT Desmos. " We then jumped to the Helios Gamma emergency rendezvous spot which was outside Ophion. There we found 7 civilian ships along with a pair of Raptors. This is when we got the news that President Adar had offered a surrender that the Cylons had refused and the new President Roslin ordered all Colonial ships to help civilians and to flee the Cyrannus System."

Seeing the LT getting a bit upset here Colonel Gabrielle said, "I understand Lieutenant. We got the same order. Please continue." Colonel Gabrielle was still not sure the Orion leaving with the civilians or dying like the Janus and other ships had to hit the Cylons was the right choice. This LT probably felt that leaving could be considered weakness.

"Sir we then jumped to a system about 10 lightyears out. The Shaitan's Commander had us then jump to the Omega Sector due to some secret orders that unlocked 24 hours after the attack. Something about "Case Orange" unlocking them" said LT Desmos.

Colonel Gabrielle being a SDF officer did not know what the official plan if a Cylon attack happened. The former Colonial officers in his SDF gave the impression that some paranoid Cylon War vets did overemphasis the Cylon threat (most people had thought the Cylon's were not a threat unfortunately) and many had suspected these secret plans if they existed were more projects to feed the never ending budget of the Colonial Fleet.

"When we reached this secret spot we found only 2 other Colonial ships" continued LT Demos. "The badly damaged Warstar Anteros and the Battlestar Apis. The Apis was a heavily modified Osiris Class Pocket Battlestar. It had most of it's weapons removed and only had Raptors no Vipers. This was of the "Stealthstar" variant."

Colonel Gabrielle knew that the so called "Stealthstar" design was supposedly not in production. Such a design would probably cost as much as a Valkyrie and have less combat power than the Vigilant. Everyone suspected there were some doing shadowy things probably involving illegally spying on the Cylons but officially none existed.

"The Anteros was barely operational. It had taken over a dozen missiles and had jumped out just before it was destroyed during the battle over Virgon. It had also lost over half it's crew including it's Commander and XO. We spent 20 days hoping more Colonials would show up while repairing the Anteros. With the losses the Anteros had taken the Shaitan's Commander was the senior officer on station" said LT Desmos.

"The Anteros was down to only one main gun and less than half of it's weapons and even with transfers was low on crew and we were planning on avoiding combat" LT Desmos continued. "The Apis' Commanding Officer had been scouting and found a group of Colonial ships including a Repairstar hiding in the Helios Beta system. This was considered too valuable to pass up so we counter attacked leaving the Apis watching our civilian ships. We were able to rescue 23 civilian ships with just under 9000 people but lost the Anteros when it destroyed a pair of Baseships covering our escape. Unfortunately the Commander of the Shaitan had switched their flag over to the Anteros and died in this operation. This left the Commander of the Apis as senior officer. Since then we have been scouting around. You are the first group we have came across since then."

There were more questions asked. The fleet of 33 ships had a total of over 10000 people and while they lacked a botanical cruiser they were able to set up hydroponics which kept them going on food. Along with the Repairstar they had several mining ships and a tyleum processing ship. This fleet seemed better supplied than his. There did seem to be some tension between the Apis' Commander and the rest of the military ships but nothing alarming like what the Perseus had done. Unless Captain Kinis had a different view this seemed like a way to fix some of their problems.

I am not going to write a 12 chapter story about the Shaitan and it's fleet for reasons that will be hopefully obvious soonish. Also what LT Desmos said is accurate if not 100% correct. He is a human and made minor mistakes. He is also a junior officer not in the main Colonial Navy so might not be aware of or is trying to avoid gossiping with strangers.

Also I am a moron. I forgot the Osiris in Blood and Chrome was an Orion class ship. Just ignore that the name of my main ship in this story makes little sense. So the small stealthy Battlestars we saw there are Osiris class ships.
