Chapter Five

Kim walked over to Shego who met her halfway. They were looking one another up and down. Kim smiled looking the black-haired woman over. She was wearing black jeans with a green jacket. She was smirking at Kim.

On the other side Shego was too taking in Kim's appearance. She still had the thin athletic build. Her red hair glowed in the lights over her. Her brilliant olive eyes glowed in the light.

"It's been a little bit Kimmie," Shego spoke, breaking the silence.

"It's good to see you," Kim said, smiling at her. She brushed some hair back over her ear. Her face blushed, feeling Shego look her up and down.

"So, you became a vet. A far cry from what I expected," Shego spoke.

Kim smiled walking towards her. They walked out of the shop, taking the time to lock up the shop. She turned to Shego. "Did you think I'd end up as a lackey for Betty?"

"Kinda," Shego shrugged. Kim shook her head and started walking down the road Shego following her. "How's everything been?" Shego asked, walking up beside her.

"It's been pretty good, I enjoy working with animals," Kim spoke, watching as Shego kept pace with her.

"That's good, I'm living in Lowerton now," Shego explained.

"I didn't know you moved there," Kim admitted, listening to Shego chuckle.

"Yeah, I didn't exactly advertise it," Shego replied.

Kim glanced over to Shego, watching her pull her coat closer to herself. Shego glanced over at her and smiled. Both showed obvious signs of nervousness being close to one another. Both wanted to say things. Yet neither of them could say anything. Slowly Kim opened her mouth to say something.

"How are you and Ron?" Shego asked stopping her from saying anything. Shego already knew the answer. She felt it would be better to not lead on that she knew the answer. She watched Kim lower her head and sigh.

"We split a few weeks ago," Kim admitted, glancing to her.

"Did he do something?" Shego asked, trying not to sound pushy.

"No, nothing like that. It was me," Kim admitted shrugging. "Something that I had been dealing with since I was in high school."

Shego just nodded, looking forward. They continued down the road just enjoying each other's company. Kim stopped in front of her house and turned to Shego.

"This is me," Kim said, motioning toward the building.

"Well it was nice seeing you Cupcake," Shego admitted.

"Yeah, it was," Kim agreed.

Shego smiled at her as she walked toward the door. "Kim," she called, making her stop.

"Yeah?" Kim asked turning towards her.

"You doing anything Saturday night?" Shego ventured.

Kim looked at Shego. Watching her facial expressions closely. She thought about the breakup with Ron briefly. She lowered her head. She finally had a chance now to spend time with Shego. Smiling, she focused on Shego. Walking back over to her she stopped in front of her.

"Are you asking me on a date?" Kim asked, shocking Shego.

"Uh," Shego stammered over her words.

Kim smiled, seeing Shego for the first time ever thrown off of her game. "If you are, that would sound like an amazing time."

"Then yes, I am asking you on a date. Saturday at six. How does Italian sound?" Shego asked, watching Kim smile.

"I'll see you there" Kim replied smiling.

Shego watched Kim walk into her house. She stopped, looking back to her one last time. Kim smiled and closed the door. Shego waved slightly and once the door was closed she couldn't stop grinning. There was an extra kick in her step as she moved down the street back towards her vehicle.

It was Saturday afternoon and Shego stood in front of her closet. She looked at all of her clothes hanging up. Walking over to a mirror she held up a green and black dress. She put it back and grabbed another dress this one also green and black.

"I just realized, I need to expand my color pallet," she mumbled.

Finally she settled on another green and black dress. This one went to her knees. It had straps going over her shoulders. It hugged her figure tightly. She looked at herself in the mirror and started to style her hair.

Her hair was brushed back, given it a straightened look. She stared at herself in the mirror and smiled. She was satisfied with her look as she opened her closet again. Opening a box, she took out a pair of black high heels. Putting them on she stepped out of her room. Destiny was waiting for her.

"You look so beautiful," Destiny said smiling.

"Thank you," Shego said going to grab her jacket. She turned to Destiny again. "Hopefully, it'll all go well."

"It will," Destiny assured her. "I'll be here when you get back. I want to know how it went."

Shego smiled walking out of the door leaving Destiny there alone in the apartment. Jacob was gone for a few days on a hunting trip. She walked over to the counter and grabbed a bottle of whiskey. Pouring herself a glass she turn and walked over to the couch. Picking up the remote, she turned on the television and started thumbing through the channels.

Shego walked up towards the restaurant. Inside she was nervous, her mind racing and thinking of worst case scenarios. She stopped, thinking of maybe leaving and going back home. She shook her head, knowing full well Destiny wouldn't let her.

Turning she walked back into the restaurant. Taking her coat off she stopped. Kim was standing in front of her. She wore a sky blue dress that went all the way to her ankles. Her hair was over her left eye, looking smooth and silky. She wore high heels like Shego did.

"Hey Shego," Kim spoke, in a sweet voice.

"Hey," Shego responded smiling. "You look stunning."

"So do you," Kim responded smiling.

Shego put her arm out for Kim. She put her arm through hers. "Shall we?"

Kim nodded and together they walked through the restaurant. They came up to a table that had two chairs. Shego pulled out Kim's chair for her allowing her to sit. Once she was situated Shego took her seat.

A waiter walked over and lit a candle for them. He then sat a wine list on the table for them. Shego stopped him, whispering something to him. He nodded, taking the list away. Shego smiled before turning her attention back to Kim.

"So, what made you decide to come look for me?" Kim asked folding her hands under her chin.

Shego smiled leaning forward slowly. "Want the honest answer?" Shego asked.

"Obviously," Kim said with a shrug.

Shego nodded slightly and let out a sigh. "After the invasion you've literally been the thing at the forefront of my mind. The only reason I didn't go after it was because you were with Stoppable. To be completely honest, I actually ran into him a few weeks after you two broke up. I wasn't going to come up to you and say; 'Oh hey heard you and Ron broke up want to go on a date'."

Kim looked at her, hearing this confession. "But, you did show up hoping for a date," Kim pointed out watching Shego just nod. "I'll be honest too, you've been on my mind a lot since the invasion too. Like you, I was going through the motions. I was with Ron but denying who I truly was," Kim admitted.

The waiter came out with a bottle of wine. Holding it out they looked at it. It was a name neither could pronounce. The date caught Kim's attention, '1912'. He filled their glasses and sat the bottle on the table.

"Our specials tonight are wild duck on a bed of rice with a raspberry glaze, or lobster stuffed halibut with a vegetable melody," the waiter spoke looking at them.

"I'll have the duck" Shego spoke, her eyes lifting up to Kim who looked at the menu.

"I'll take the halibut," Kim spoke, smiling to the waiter.

Once gone Kim sipped from her glass of wine tasting the flavor of the aged wine. She looked at Shego through the flickering flame. Her green skin had a slight orange glow to it making it look like she had a haze around her. Her green eyes reflected the light, allowing them to glow like emeralds.

Shego too was transfixed by Kim's beauty. Her red hair was deepened by the flame. Her pale skin glowed elegantly in the light of the candle. She was smiling at her. Both were smiling widely.

"I'm glad I finally worked up the confidence to ask you out," Shego admitted watching Kim arch her eyebrow.

"You, scared?" Kim smirked. "You who literally has skydived out of just about every vehicle imaginable. You, who literally stared down aliens. You were scared to ask me on a date?"

Shego smirked, her green skin deepened in shade. She tipped her head down and chuckled. "Yeah, that one actually scared me," Shego admitted. watching Kim sit forward and smile to her. "Sky diving and fighting aliens is one thing. Asking out your crush, well that's a shit show and a half."

"I'm glad you did," Kim said softly, her hand moving across the table. Instead of locking hands, she locked her pinky finger around Shego's in a tender gesture. It was a gesture that made Shego smile. "I think about that quite a lot," Kim admitted looking to the fingers.

Shego smiled, her fingers rubbing Kim's. The waiter came back with their food. He sat their food in front of them. The food looked delicious and smelled delightful. They ate together, enjoying the food. Once done, they sat together talking. They spent time catching up since they hadn't seen each other in two years.

"Kim," Shego said softly, finishing off her glass of wine.

"Hmm?" was Kim's reply as she enjoyed the last bite of her dessert.

"My name is Samantha," Shego said softly, watching Kim give her a semi shocked expression. "What?"

"Nothing, I swear. It, just means so much you'd give me your actual name," Kim spoke seeing Shego's hue darken again.

The waiter sat the bill on the table and Shego picked it up. She smirked at the price. Reaching into her jacket she pulled out her card and sat it down on the bill. The waiter came back and picked it up. After signing the receipt her and Kim left the restaurant.

Shego led her over to her car and let her in. She drove down the road until they were at Kim's house. Shego got out of the car first and moved around to let Kim out. Shego led her up to the door and smiled to her.

"I had an amazing time tonight," Kim said, smiling at her.

"I did too," Shego said with a smile. "I'll see you around."

Kim nodded, "Maybe later this week."

"Yes, I'd love that," Shego said smiling.

Shego turned back towards the car. Kim went back into her house. Shego stopped at her car. She stared at the car. Suddenly, she turned around and moved quickly back towards the door. She got up to the door and prepared to knock.

The door opened quickly. Shego looked to Kim who was staring up at her. Reaching out, she started stroking Kim's face. Suddenly, Kim shot forward and kissed Shego. The kiss was full of passion. As they kissed, Shego's arms wrapped around Kim pulling her close to herself. Their kiss continued for seconds. Shego and Kim passionately kissed under the glowing moonlight.
