Authors Notes- And here I am with another Transformers Prime fanfic. This one revolving around our three human friends for a change. As you can gather I only own the plot. Everything else belongs to Hasbro. I am merely borrowing them for my own amusement. Now that we got that out of the way? Here is Chapter One of Changes. I hope you enjoy.

Chapter One: It Started Out As An Ordinary Day.

It was a quiet day. Jack Darby mused as he peered out the window. Only listening with half an ear as his Art History teacher droned on and on. His gaze focused on his Autobot partner who was sitting outside, waiting patiently for school to end along side Bulkhead and Bumblebee. Jack had to wonder if this quiet unnerved Arcee as much as it unnerved him. Jack mused, as he turned his attention back to his teacher as said teacher wrote down the homework assignment on the whiteboard. Something he just knew he would have to work on at home.

Since he knew there was no way he would be able to get any work done if Miko had any say in it. Not that he didn't love his spunky little friend but she did have this tendency to distract him from his homework with things like video games and playing her guitar loudly...and badly. So, if Jack wanted to keep his grades up he had to finish his work at home. Like he always did, since he had long since found out that there was always something going on at the base, well, usually but as of late things had been...quiet.

Suddenly the bell sounded, signaling that it was time to go home. As Jack gathered his books he cast one final look out the window, seeing Arcee's front wheel twitch, obviously sitting around with nothing to do was getting to her as well. As he walked out the door he couldn't help but wonder what exactly the 'Cons were doing. Jack didn't know but it was leaving the 'Bots a little tense.

"Have a good day, Jack." Sierra said, waving at him, and that was all it took to jerk him from his thoughts.

Heart thundering in his chest, his tongue twisting making it hard for him to utter a word before the cheer captain walked off. Her giggling friend who's name alluded him following after him. "H-have a nice weekend." He finally managed, even as she rounded the corner out of earshot.

"Have a nice weekend." Another voice mimicked him. Jack grunted as Vince shouldered past him. The red haired bully dusting off the shoulder of his jacket as he looked over his shoulder at Jack. And here is someone I DON'T want to have a nice weekend. He thought as Vince turned fully to him.

"You know she's only being nice to a loser like you. You don't honestly think she would want anything to do with you, do you?" Vince asked, the corner of his mouth turning upwards.

Jack suppressed the urge to come up with some retort. After all, his time was better spent doing anything but dealing with Vince. With a shake of his head Jack merely turned away and headed for the exit and made his way towards Arcee.

"Hey," he greeted as Raf and Miko joined him.

"How was school?" Arcee asked, as Jack shrugged his shoulders as he eased himself onto her seat. Slipping the helmet onto his head.

"How about you?" he asked as the pulled away from the school. "Anything new?"

"No." Arcee spoke, "Radio silence on the 'Cons part. It's almost like they are gone."

"Maybe they are?" Jack mused.

"Pffft as nice as that idea would be it's more like they're planning for us to drop our guard and then strike." She said. At that Jack had to agree, that was a far more believable than anything he could come up with.

Once reaching the base Jack slid off of Arcee as she transformed and joined Ratchet while he followed Miko and Raf to the mezzanine.

"Soooo," Miko drawled, watching him from the corner of her eye. As Jack moved to sit beside her as she put on some monster truck rally on TV. "Saw you making a fool of yourself in front of Sierra." Jack cringed as Miko said his crushes name in a sing-song way.

"So?" he asked.

"So, if you want to get lucky with the ladies you got to learn how to talk to them." Miko provided.

"I know how to talk to the ladies. You're a lady and I manage to talk to you just fine." Jack said.

Miko sighed. "I mean ladies you might have a not so slight crush on."

Jack groaned. As much as he liked Miko, as much as he saw her as one of his dearest friends he was so not willing to take any dating advise from her. Hell, as she went on he secretly wished the 'Cons would attack, or at least make an appearance so Miko had something to do. Sure, he always hated how Miko was always so careless when it came to chasing after the 'Bots in hopes of seeing some 'Bot/'Con action. But for right now he was just hoping for something to keep her occupied. Anything that wasn't giving him relationship advice.

Thankfully Jack wasn't left to dwell on those thoughts for much longer, as if granting his wish the alarm went off making all three humans nearly jump out of their skin as it did so. A sign that the 'Cons had resurfaced. Well, he thought, turning to watch as the Autobots gathered, all looking eager. It looks like we were the only ones feeling a little... restless.

"Ratchet?" Optimus asked, moving towards his old friend. As the old medic typed something into the console.

"It looks like the Decepticons have finally resurfaced." Ratchet informed him. "It looks like..." He trailed off, as the children leaned over the railing, listening eagerly as Ratchet told the others where the Decepticons were at.

The kids watched as the ground bridge opened up. Jack watched Miko from the corner of his eye as the Autobots filed through the swirling blue-green portal. And as he predicted Miko wasted no time darting down the stairs, taking them two at a time with an excited whoop. Jack and Raf following after her. Jack's fingers brushing her wrist slightly, missing her by a few inches.

Jack had to sigh, sure, he had seen this coming but that wasn't going to stop him when she risked her neck. And obviously Raf has felt the same. But before the two boys could stop their friend they soon found themselves in a energon mine.

"Miko..." Jack sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"You know I didn't ask you to come." Miko told him, hands on her hips, before turning away from the black haired teen.

Seeing no sign of the Autobots the trio looked around. Before moving further into the mine in hope of finding some sign of the Autobots. Obviously they had moved further in the mine to engage with the Decepticons. Leaving their human allies in the dust. Of course, Jack couldn't blame them they did tag alone unknowingly. Looking around once more Jack couldn't help the shiver that ran down his spine. His thoughts going back to a time when he, Miko, Arcee, and Bulkhead were trapped in a mine similar to this. And as they soon found out along with Megatron and Starscream.

A situation Jack certainly didn't want to repeat. And to make matters worst? Was they had dragged Raf with them. Jack groaned and prayed to whatever God that things would go far smoother this time around. Shaking that thought from his head, he looked around once more seeing three tunnels. Biting down on his bottom lip he looked from one to the other.

"Well," he spoke, looking to the others. "Which way should we go?"

Miko hummed to herself as she looked at the tunnels, straining her ears for the tell-tale clanging of metal on metal that always sent a thrill through her body. Causing goosebumps to form on her skin whenever she saw it, sadly she heard nothing before looking to Raf. "I'm stumped." She said, "how about you?"

Raf hummed as he too looked at the tunnels. Before pointing at the middle tunnel. Jack shrugged, and began to head down the tunnel Raf has pointed, the other two following after him. After what seemed like forever Jack heard the sound of fighting, heart skipping a beat they picked up the pace until they came to an opening. Peering through the opening they were greeted by the sight of the Autobots fighting with the Decepticons. Taking a few steps back Jack watched as Bulkhead's fist connected with a vehicons face plate. The vehicon was sent flying into a pile of empty energon crates.

Bulkhead smirked as he turned away from the down vehicon, his optics widening when they settled on the kids.

"Guys!" He choked out as he moved towards them. As the fighting continued on. "What are you doing here?"

"Well, she wanted to see some action. And we came to try and stop her." Jack said, gesturing to Miko. Who rolled her eyes at him, her arms crossed over her chest.

Bulkhead sighed before casting a glance over his shoulder before scooping up the three humans. Muttering to himself green wrecker placed them on a ledge. Allowing the humans to be on higher ground, thus preventing them from being squished or worst. "Here, please stay put until we're done." Turning away Bulkhead stopped and looked over his shoulder once more, glancing pointedly at Miko. "I mean it." And turned away.

"Actually," Miko muttered as she inched closer to the edge. Her hazel eyes lighting up as she saw all the action before her. "This is far better." She finished.

A thrill running down her spine as the sound of metal clashing against metal echoed all around. Her eyes darting from one scene to another. A smile splitting her face as she watched as Bulkhead and Wheeljack destroyed vehicon after vehicon. While Arcee went after Starscream, deftly missing the Decepticon SIC's talons as she drove her fist into his face plate. Causing the seeker to let out a pained cry as he stumbled backwards.

Where as Optimus and Ultra Magnus had their hands full with the King 'Con himself. The Decepticon leader was easily holding his own against the two of them. There were just so many awesome things to add to her ever-growing scrapbook. Miko reached for her phone.

"So," Jack asked, inching up beside her while Raf moved to her other side. "Do you actually have a psychical scrapbook ? Or do you just keep those on your phone?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Miko asked, as she snapped a picture of Optimus slamming his fist into Megatron's face plate. Her phone catching the undignified look on the Decepticon leaders face as he crumpled to the ground to the ground. Obviously defeated. "I keep them on the phone, that way no one can find them unless I want them to."

Another grin crept to her face as she put her phone away as she watched as Megatron struggled to his pedes, a scowl on his face plate, those red glowing optics shining in the dim light of the cave. Silence permeated the cave as the Decepticons limped away, defeated. At least that was what the kids thought until Megatron turned his piercing gaze towards where they were hiding. Causing them to duck down and hope that he didn't actually see them.

However, luck didn't seem to be on their side as Megatron turned to Optimus. "You know Optimus, you might have bested me this time. But you made one fatal mistake." He said, as he raised his arm cannon. Aiming it at the ledge where the humans were hiding, and firing.

"The children!" Bulkhead shouted, watching in horror as Megatron's blast hit the ledge as the humans out terrified screams as the ground beneath them gave way. Sending them tumbling down to the ground below.

They were going to die. Jack thought as the ground reached up to greet them, before debris came raining down on the heads of the kids, then darkness as it swallowed them whole...

Authors Notes- And here we have the first chapter of Changes. Sorry if it is kind of meh. But never less I hope you enjoyed it. And I assure you things will get better as the story goes on. That being said this is Black Jack signing off.
