[Coco Poco - Paldea Region]
On the outskirts of Paldea stood a lone house that overlooked the back of a cliff. The house was quite beautiful, and some would say that the person who lives in the house is quite so efficient considering how much plant life and vegetables have grown throughout the front and backyard.
Inside the house, a young man was beginning his day by putting on his school uniform for his first day at his new school, Naranja Academy. The young man was wearing orange pants with stripes, black dress shoes, a blue vest, gray suit jacket, orange tie, and a black Gatsby hat that covered his blonde hair.
"Woah, I look good in a school uniform."said Jaune Arc, who had just been signed up for a year at Naranja Academy after spending a month in the region of Paldea.
"Jaune, come downstairs."said an older female voice from the first floor.
"Coming, Mrs Lopez."said Jaune, before he began making his way down the stairs to meet up with the woman who had let him into her house for the last month.
It all started a month ago when Jaune literally fell head first on a rock. It was then in there that he meant Mrs Lopez, the woman who lived next to the rock in question. Mrs Lopez help treat Jaune's injury, and helped the young man elders she found out that he suffered from a case of mild amnesia, if that was even a thing.
Thanks to landing head first on a rock, Jaune felt some of his memories escape him like where he came from a man and why he was free falling through the sky in the first place. All he remembered was his name, the names of his friends, and the creature responsible for taking him away from his home, Mew.
Jaune knew that Mew was the one who kidnapped him and took him from wherever he came from. He knew he needed to find the new species pokémon if he ever wanted to get his memories back and find a way back home. But the only problem was it was easier said than done, as finding Mew was like fighting a tiny needle in a huge haystack.
But Jaune had this strange feeling that Mew was in Paldea, now all he needed to do was to find the mythical Pokemon in question.
So Mrs Lopez you some connections with an old friend she knew in the Pokemon League, and got Jaune enrolled in the top pokémon School in all of Paldea, Naranja Academy. Jaune ask her how she did this and Mrs Lopez said that she called up an old friend she knew from her trainer days, saying nothing more before she walked away.
Jaune really owed Mrs Lopez a lot. Not only did she allow him into her house when she didn't have to, she also made sure he was well fed and well taken care of as he healed day by day over the last month. The young Arc knew he wouldn't be where he was if it wasn't for Mrs Lopez's kindness.
"Wow Jaune, you look good in your school uniform."said a tan skin woman who look like she was in her fifties. She was wearing a blue sweater, khaki pants, and had a yellow apron covering the front side of her body.
"Well I have to make a good first impression on my first day."said Jaune, feeling like he had to make a good first impression in order to not embarrass Mrs Lopez, as he knew that she put her reputation on the line to get him into the school without too many questions asked.
"Jaune, I'm honestly going to miss you as I've grown quite fond of you over the last several months."said Mrs Lopez, caressing the young man's cheek."You remind me of my son, who left the house years ago to go to Kanto. Now remember to be on your best behavior young man, after all, Naranja Academy is a place where you can learn to be the best Pokemon trainer you can be."
"I'll do my best to make you proud."said Jaune, who knew that the only way he was ever going to find Mew was to become a Pokemon trainer and explore Paldea.
But the only way that was going to happen at his age is that he had to be a student at Naranja Academy.
That is when Jaune and Mrs Lopez heard someone ring the front doorbell.
"Hmm... I wonder who that could be."said Mrs Lopez, who wasn't expecting anyone to come to her house today.
"I'll go take a look."said Jaune, before he began making his way to the front door and opened it to see an older gentleman waiting on the other side.
This man appears to be as old as Mrs Lopez. He had neatly come white hair, with a matching pair of circular glasses that matched his face. He was wearing an orange suit jacket with what appeared to be premiere balls sewn onto the pockets, a black dress up shirt, some kind of fluffy scarf, white dress pants, and white dress shoes.
Jaune immediately recognize the man as Mario Clavell, the current director of Naranja Academy.
"Mr Clavell, what are you doing here?"asked Jaune, wondering why the director of his new school would come all the way Coco Poco.
"Master Jaune, I see you are wearing the academy's uniform. Forgive the sudden intrusion, but I need Mrs Lopez the sign a few more important documents. They we're supposed to days ago but they just barely arrived at my office. So, as director of Naranja Academy, I thought it was my duty the person they delivered them to make sure they would arrive safely and securely.."said Mr Clavell, before Jaune motions for him to come inside, which he did.
"Mr Clavell, what are you doing here?"questions Mrs Lopez as she came out of the kitchen.
"Forgive me, Mrs Lopez, but some important documents you need to sign just barely arrived. So I came as fast as I could."said Mr Clavell, before he handed a documents over Mrs Lopez.
"Oh my, well come sit down for a cup of tea while I fill out these documents."said Mrs Lopez, before she looked over at Jaune."Jaune, go get your backpack as you need to get ready for school."
"Yes, ma'am."said Jaune, before he headed upstairs to retrieve his backpack.
A few seconds later, Jaune arrived at the second floor and quickly went over to grab his blue athletic backpack. Jaune quickly put the backpack over his shoulders and adjusted it a bit, before he made his way downstairs to meet up with Mrs Lopez and Mr Clavell.
Once Jaune got to the second floor, he saw Mrs Lopez handing Mr Clavell assigned documents, with the director neatly folding them and placing said documents in his suit jacket a second later.
"I'm sorry I cannot stay for a cup of tea, but I need to make a formal visit with the house down the street."said Mr Clavell, with a clear apologetic look on his face.
"I understand as you're a real busy man now that your director of Naranja Academy."said Mrs Lopez, before she noticed the young Arc.
"Well looks like someone is ready for their first day."said Mrs Lopez with a smile, causing the director to turn around.
"I have a feeling that Master Jaune we'll make a fine addition to the academy. Now, Master Jaune, if you will join me outside, I want to give you something."said Mr Clavell, before he made his way outside.
'I wonder what he's going to give me?' thought Jaune, before he made his way outside to see what Mr Clavell was going to give him.
Once outside, Jaune so the director turn around, holding three pokeballs.
"Every new student of Naranja Academy automatically gets a Pokemon to act as their starter Pokemon. Now I will show you the Pokemon to have been selected to represent the academy."said Mr Clavell, before he toss the pokeballs into the air."Come on out, my beloved pokémon."
That is when the three pokeballs opened up, releasing a bright ray of light into the ground, and within seconds that light formed three Pokemon.
The first Pokemon is a quadrupedal feline Pokémon covered in pale green fur. The fur's composition is similar to that of plants, allowing it to absorb sunlight for energy. It has green ears with pale green insides, a tuft of fur on the front of its chest and a green marking around its pink eyes and nose that resemble leaves. When its mouth is open, two pointed teeth can be seen in its upper jaw. It has a fluffy tail and small paws with pink paw pads underneath and no visible toes.
"Meet the grass cat Pokemon, Sprigatito."
The second Pokemon a bipedal crocodilian Pokémon with a mostly red body and a white stomach and face. Its body contains a small flame sac, which constantly leaks fire energy due to its size. The energy releases in the form of two yellow tufts on top of its head. It also has black eyes and triangular nostrils, and its mouth has three teeth, with one in the upper jaw and two in the lower jaw. It has stubby arms and large feet with two black toes on each foot. Said Pokemon also has yellow square scales on its stomach, back, tail, and the soles of its feet.
"Meet the fire croc Pokemon, Fuecoco."
The third and final Pokemon is a white duckling-like Pokémon. It has a yellow beak and blue eyes. It has teal webbed feet and a large teal coif-like crest that covers its head, with a feathery tuft in the front and a white curvy line shaped like a wave.
"And say hello to the duckling Pokemon, Quaxly."
Jaune was mesmerized by the three pokémon in front of them as they were absolutely adorable. Each and every one of them was cute in their own way and he was amazed by how different they were from one another. He knew that Sprigatito was a grass type, Fuecoco was a fire type, anf Quaxly was a water type.
Over the last month he has been studying nonstop about Pokemon while getting ready to enroll into Naranja Academy. Jaune knew about Pokemon types, moves, abilities, status, etc. He knew exactly what to do from Mrs Lopez's mini library, which is filled with books about basic Pokemon facts.
"I need to talk with the parents of a fellow student at the academy who lives just down the block. In the meantime, get to know these pokémon and you will be able to choose which one, among these three will be your starter Pokemon."said Mr Clavell, before he left without saying another word.
"That Clavell, he honestly never changes."said Mrs Lopez as she was walking out of the house.
"Jaune, since your old phone fell into the ocean, I decided it was time you get a new one."said Mrs Lopez, before she handed them young man a red phone with some kind of electrical light pattern for the protector."This is the latest model of rotom phone. Take good of it, and I have a feeling it will take good care of you."
"Wow, nice to meet you, rotom."said Jaune, causing the phone to float into midair, giggle a little, before flying into his pant pocket.
"Now do you have everything you need in your backpack?"asked Mr Lopez.
"Yep. I have a change of clothes, my storage cube, a few snacks, my different uniforms, and pretty much everything else I will need for the Academy."said Jaune, causing Mrs Lopez the smile before she began making her way back to the house.
"It will be hard to choose only one of those three but make sure you pick your starter Pokemon based on personality. After all, you need to have a compatible personality with your starter pokémon if you hope to get far in Paldea."said Mr Lopez, before she went into the house.
"Pick on personality and not just type."said Jaune, before he felt someone talking at his leg.
This caused him to look down and notice Fuecoco, causing the fire croc Pokemon to give him a big smile.
"So cute."said Jaune, before he began making his way down Coco path, intending to get to the big house at the end of the Street in order to meet up with Mr Clavell.
As Jaune was walking down the street, he noticed that these Pokemon seem to have unique personalities of their own. Quaxly just kept staring at the ocean every chance it got. Sprigatito was sniffing the grass and nearby flowers. And Fuecoco was sticking to his side as much as possible.
"Hmm... I think I made my choice."said Jaune, and before he knew it, he had already arrived at the house at the end of the block.
"Man, whoever lives in this house must be rich."said Jaune, as the house in front of him was easily five times bigger than the house he had been living in.
"Now now let's go meet up with Mr Clavell, guys."said Jaune, before he knows that the three Pokemon in question were nowhere to be seen.
"Where did they go?"Jaune asked himself, before noticing that the front gate to the house hadn't been locked.
It didn't take a genius to realize where they went so he quickly made his way inside the gated yard, and he spotted the three Pokemon in question messing around.
Quaxly was in the nearby fountain, splashing water through its pompadour feathers.
Sprigatito was sniffing some flowers, before some wind blew some petals away.
Ad for Fuecoco, the fire croc Pokemon was preparing to eat an apple, before some petals flew past its nose, causing the fire type Pokemon to sneeze, burning the apple to a crisp.
That is when a hand touched Fuecoco. Jaune looked over and saw a girl about his age petting the fire croc Pokemon. She had tan skin, and black hair tied with a ponytail with a few loose green streaks near her forehead. Like Jaune, she was wearing what appeared to be Naranja Academy school uniform.
Only she wasn't wearing the suit jacket and vest like him. She was wearing a short sleeve white shirt with the academy emblem on both sides, and orange tie, orange shorts with stripes, black leggings, athletic shoes, and what appeared to be an arm brace around her right arm
"Are you these three's trainer?"questions the girl with a warm smile.
Jaune was about to say something before he noticed Mr Clavell walking out of the house.
"No, Master Jaune has yet to make his choice."said Mr Clavell, before the group made their way towards each other.
Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco quickly made their way in front of Jaune, with the fire croc pokémon still holding the burnt apple, clearly intending to still eat it. That is when the duckling pokémon stepped in and managed to convince the fire croc Pokemon to put down the apple, which it did reluctantly, causing everyone to giggle.
"Buenas, we haven't met, have we."said the girl as soon as she stopped giggling."said the girl, causing Jaune the shake his head.
"I must say, I wasn't expecting to see you here quite so soon."admitted Mr Clavell, as he figured Jaune would have probably taken longer to make his choice.
"Hang on, Director. Is this way I think it is?"questions the girl.
"Yes, this is the newest student of our Academy, Master Jaune. He will be attending as of today."answered the director.
"So your the teenager I've seen up the road. I've been dying to find out more about you. I'm Nemona, normally I live in the dorms, but home is here. Whaddya say, new neighbor, want to be friends?"questions the girl now known as Nemona.
"Sure. Having a new friend on your first day of school always helps."said Jaune, remembering how he met his first friend Ruby.
"Love that enthusiasm. We are going to get along just fine."said Nemona with a smile.
"Miss Nemona is the president of our student council, and a champion ranked trainer in her own right."said Mr Clavell, giving Jaune more information about his new friend.
"I just love pokémon battling. What do you say, Jaune, do you want to have a Pokemon battle right now?"asked Nemona with a lot of enthusiasm.
"Easy now-you two will be in the same class, so you will have plenty of time to battle later. And get to know one another better, too"said Mr Clavell calmly.
"We're going to be classmates and neighbors? Nice! We'll be able to battle all we want."said Nemona, making Jaune realized that this girl in front of him was obsessed with pokémon battles.
"On that note, Master Jaune...Have you decided which of these Pokemon will be your first partner?"asked Mr Clavell, making Jaune look at the Pokemon so that he can make his choice.
"Mrs Lopez said I should choose on personality, not just type. So I decided to go with the Pokemon who seems to be most compatible with me."said Jaune, before he made his way over to the Pokemon in question.
"Fuecoco, I choose you."said Jaune, deciding to go with the fire croc pokémon as it was the only one that showed interest in him.
"That's Fuecoco, a fire type Pokemon. The buring hot sparks it scatters will fry any and all plants in a flash."said Mr Clavell, as Jaune picked up Fuecoco, causing the fire croc pokémon to do a little dance on his arm, making the young man smile.
"Fuecoco seems to have taken quite a liking to you, Master Jaune. This is your first Pokemon if I'm not mistaken. Make sure to take care of him with love and care. And be sure to keep him safe in a pokeball."said Mr Clavell, before he handed Jaune Fuecoco's pokeball.
"Thanks, Mr Clavell. And don't worry, I'll make sure to take good care of him. Fuecoco, time for you to return to your pokeball."said Jaune, before he recalled the fire cro c Pokemon back to his pokeball.
"Jaune, I can't believe you actually chose Fuecoco...I mean, like, way to pick the perfect choice for you! You two make such a good combo."said Nemona, who believed that Jaune made the right choice to go with Fuecoco.
"Thanks, Nemona. I have a feeling him and I will go places we never expected."said Jaune while staring at Fuecoco's pokeball.
That is when Nemona got an idea.
"Mind if I take one of these Pokemon as well, Mr Clavell?"questions the student council president, surprising the director.
"Oh, but...did you not receive a Pokemon when you first entered the Academy, Miss Nemona?"questions Mr Clavell, causing Nemona to shake her head.
"Not back then, no. I had other Pokemon I was focused at raising at the time.But now I want to raise a new Pokemon alongside Jaune while he raises up his own new partner."said Nemona, causing the director to ponder on this idea.
"A splendid idea, Miss Nemona. If you wish to raise a Pokemon on equal footing with Master Jaune here, I shall be more than happy to allow it."said Mr Clavell, seeing no harm in this idea.
"Yes!"said Nemona, before she looked at the pokémon she wanted to train."Since Jaune choose Fuecoco, I'll choose this little one. Nice to meet you, Sprigatito, welcome to the team."
The grass cat Pokemon was confused for a second before it ran over and started snuggling Nemona's leg, a clear indication that it accepted her as its trainer.
"All right then. Now that we have chosen our Pokemon, he have to battle. I'll be waiting for you on the battlefield on the beach. Come join me when you're ready"said Nemona, before she and Sprigatito made their way over to the beach.
"Wow."said Jaune, as Nemona can move fast, almost Ruby fast when she hears that there is cookies in the cafeteria.
"As you may have noticed, Miss Nemona is a tad overly fond of Pokemon battling. But I do hope you join her for a battle. It it's not only a chance for you to get to know each other, but a chance to understand your new partner as well."said Mr Clavell, causing Jaune to look at his starter Pokemon pokeball.
"Let's do this, Fuecoco."said Jaune, before he began walking towards the beach.
'I better be ready to give it everything I got as you don't become the student council president of a pokémon school by being weak. Nemona is no doubt a strong trainer, so I have to be on guard if I even want to make a good first impression.' thought Jaune, feeling like he was unlucky as his first ever pokémon battle was going to be against the student council president of Naranja Academy.

Will Jaune be able to handle his first ever Pokemon battle against the student council president of Naranja Academy, Nemona. Will he and his starter Pokemon, Fuecoco actually managed to beat her?
