I don't know how long I've been here…in this dream. Feels hell of a lot longer than 50 years…but i'll never forget that day…the battle…I lost control. I killed a friend. But thanks to both mythra and pyras support. I managed to overcome the state i was in. and i spent the years learning to control that power…in case i ever i have to use it again. But one day…a new face appeared in this dream…a kid probably around 15. He approached the tree.
"Ah, e-excuse me?' the kid asked pyra. Who was standing by the tree.
"Such a mournful sound…it hasn't stopped…not in all these years.." pyra said.
"Hasn't stopped…you mean that bell sound?" the kid asked.
"Yeah…it's been driving me nuts…makes me wish i could find it and smash it." i said as I approached. Alongside mythra.
"Uh…where are we?" the kid asked.
"Elysium…or what these two beautiful ladies remember off it…quite the beautiful dream." i said pyra and mythra blushed. "But how did you get here?" i asked.
"No idea." the kid replied. I noticed pyra looking down at the ground. The kid noticed her crystal. "Your a blade…" the kid said in awe.
"My name is pyra." pyra replied.
"Oh r-right my name is…" the kid nervously said. Only for pyra to interrupt.
"I know you. You're rex. Right?" pyra asked.
"Pyra….how did you know his name when he haven't met him?" i asked.
"I learned it just now. When we made contact." pyra said.
"Contact? This kid touched your sword? What the hell is going on outside?" i asked.
"Rex…was killed…stabbed from behind…by malos." mythra said. As those words left her mouth. Rex looked like he pieced everything back together…he looked like he was about to vomit.
"I remember now…that bastard stabbed me! Oh man! This is bad! The entire guild is in danger!" rex yelled. Running down the hill. Only for him to fall to his knees. "No, wait! I can't do anything if I'm dead! Titan's foot! If i wasn't dead i'd kick that guy's arse!" rex yelled in utter anger and despair. I realized something.
"Does this means…i'm dead too?" i asked.
"No…you're not. Malos didn't find your cryo pod. His sole focus was on us." mythra said.
"I see…still this is bad…malos is somehow still alive. And i can't do anything. Because i'm still in cryo sleep! And the other one who could actually let me out of it. Is now a rotting corpse in front of me. And malos now has pyra in his grasp. So basically the world is screwed." I said.
"Not entirely so…i…have a way." pyra said as she approached rex. "I will give you face of my life force. That way. You can be revived. As my driver. As the driver of the aegis." pyra said.
"The driver of the aegis…" rex said in amazement.
"I have a favor to ask…if you do accept this. I want you to open my cryo pod. And free me from my slumber…i can be of great help to you." i said. Rex smiled.
"Sure. i don't see why not…oh sorry i didn't get either of your names." rex said.
"I'm mythra." mythra said.
"And i'm kaku tachinowarui." i said.
"I feel like i've heard that name before…some of the storys gramps told me…can't be the same person." rex said. Who is this gramps he's talking about.
"I know what you're thinking rex…that you can save this world from a slow demise…" pyra said.
"We…wouldn't have to live in fear." rex said.
"Saving the world huh?...i'm down for that." i said. Looking down on the ground.
"Kaku!" mythra yelled. Getting my attention. "I know what you're thinking! That by helping rex. You can get redemption. Why do you do this to yourself? I thought you've forgiven yourself already." mythra said. I grabbed her hand.
"I don't think i ever will mythra. Hugo's blood is on my hands. It will never wash off…but that's why i want to come back…i will do things right this time…" i said. Mythra smiled and nodded.
"I'm in!...let's go to elysium!" rex yelled as he ran towards pyra.
"Thank you rex.." pyra said as she lowered her hand from her crystal. "Now place your hand on my chest." pyra said.
"Pyra! Come on! You just met the kid. Little too early for second base don't you think?" i asked. Causing pyra to blush. Mythra slugged me on the back of my head.
"Not what she meant pervert!" mythra yelled.
"I know…i just couldn't resist making the joke." i said. Mythra then giggled.
"Your humor aside…i'm glad to see you back to your old self…" mythra said with an all too radiant smile. And soon rex touched pyra's core crystal. They both disappeared in a flash of light.
"There they go…hopefully that kid wakes me up." i said. Mythra grabbed my hand. "What's up?" i asked.
"Kaku…i want you…to be my driver." mythra said. I grinned.
"Say no more…i would love nothing more." i said. I reached for her core crystal.
"Touch anything else besides my crystal!" mythra yelled.
"And you'll burn me. I'm well aware." I said with a smile. I reached for her crystal. And in a flash of light…i became mythra's driver. And soon found myself back in the real world…back in the fight. As i arose from my cryo pod. And i saw rex with the red aegis sword. I summoned the sword of the wasteland in one hand. And the other…mythra's aegis sword. Me and rex nodded. And blasted our way through to the front deck.
"Rex!?" a gormotti driver yelled. Guess she was with them.
"Kind of low to stab a man in the back…" rex said as he pointed the sword at malos.
"Who the hell is with the brat!?" a woman with long black hair yelled. Malos noticed me.
"It can't be…kaku!" malos yelled in rage. I had a grin.
"Remember me asshole!?" i yelled. It was a rhetorical question. I knew he remembered me as that look of hatred proved. "Pyra! Mythra! You two lovely ladies ready to kick this douche's ass again!?" i yelled.
"Ready!" pyra yelled.
"Yep!" mythra yelled.
"I'll handle the brat. He's all your patroka." malos said. So that's the woman's name. Who grinned.
"Too scared to face me yourself malos? Fair enough. Considering your using that that scrawny tin can you have by your side. It's obvious that your nowhere near your full power. And considering it was me who put you in that position in the first place…yeah. It would be a death sentence to fight me de clawed." i said. I soon blocked a blow from a chroma katana.
"Never thought i'd actually get the chance to fight the berserker of torna! This feels like a dream come true!" patroka yelled with a toothy smile.
"Didn't know you were such a fan. Want my autograph?" i asked.
"Your severed head will do just fine!" patroka yelled.
"How cute…you actually think you can beat me!" i yelled as i pushed her back. Her blade came at me. Only to be blocked by mythra. Who put up a barrier. I got a look at the blade in question. It was a machine one that looked a bit like aegaeon. But the head was a different look. The most striking was the fact it had four arms. And a weapon in each of them. A chroma katana. One that patroka attacked me with a moment ago. A shield hammer. A megalance. And a great axe. This blade was a walking arsenal. Mythra pushed it back. I noticed rex getting thrown like a ragdoll.
"Shit!" i yelled. That kid was in a bad spot. I managed to push patroka back. But she got in my way again.
"I'm your opponent!" patroka yelled. I noticed that malos was about to finish off rex…i remembered that mythra wasn't my only blade…
"Kos-mos! Help rex!" i yelled as kos-mos appeared in a flash of light.
"Understood." she said as she fired her guns at malos who avoided the lasers.
"Enough playing around. Time to wrap this up!" i yelled as i rushed at patroka. Her blade tried to stop me only for me to block the blow. Kick him in the stomach. And in one motion sliced off all of it's arms. He screamed in agony. Mythra walked up to my side.
"Seriously kaku? What did the arms of blades do to you?" mythra asked. Clearly alluding to when i cut off brighid's arms. Patroka rushed at me with the mega lance. I blocked with my sword of the wasteland. But the force was enough to knock it out of my hand. When patroka came at me again. I side stepped the attack. Jumped on the lance. And picked up the chroma katana. And ran it through her stomach. I kicked the hilt to further it in. i then picked up the greataxe and ran it into her shoulder. I then punched her in the face. Sending her flying backwards. I noticed kos-mos blasting away malos as rex and pyra were in the sky.
"Burning sword!" rex and pyra yelled together. Bringing down a heavily extended sword down on malos. Causing a huge explosion. But malos managed to block it with a blade barrier. They were talking about something. But I couldn't hear. I saw malos swiping at them with a dark energy infused hand…he may not be 100 percent. But he still has some of that destroyer power. Rex and pyra managed to get out of the way. Malo's blade threw slashes of wind at rex and pyra. Pyra blocked it with her barrier. But it broke. Knocking rex and pyra back. It looked like they were about to fall off the ship only for that gormotti girl and her blade to catch them.
"What do you think you're doing nia!?" malos yelled.
"Clearly she's seeing you for the evil piece of shit you really are. Whatever illusion you and your bitch had over her is broken." i said.
"Who are you calling a bitch!?" patroka yelled as she got up.
"She's still alive?" mythra asked in shock.
"Your a flesh eater…aren't you? No human could survive wounds like that. And i don't see a driver." i said.
"Look at you connecting the dots…guess there's a brain in your head after all!" malos yelled.
"More brains than you asshole!...now. Time to finish what i started…haze!" i yelled as in another flash of light. Haze appeared.
"And here i was thinking i was forgotten…it's a pleasure to see you back to your old self master kaku!" haze said with smile.
"Why do you have her!?" malos yelled in shock.
"A parting gift from a friend. Now haze!...do your thing!" i yelled.
"Understood master kaku!" haze yelled as she indeed did her thing…restricting the powers of malos patroka and their blades. I was about to land the group de grace. Only for the ship to be on to be attacked by a huge war ship to the side.
"Looks like our ride is here…we'll finish this later kaku!" malos yelled as he and patroka jumped on that ship. "Hit them with everything we've got!" malos yelled.
"Oh shit!" i yelled i ran towards the salvager ship only to see it long gone. I jumped off the ship as the place staring getting blitzed. As i began to fall to the cloud sea below. I found myself landing on a flying patch of grass.
"It's been a long time hasn't it kaku?" i look to to see an all too familiar gray dragon face.
"This is the second time you've saved me from falling to my death! Thanks azurda!" i yelled.
"You know gramps?" rex asked. As i was about to answer. The ship opened fire on azurda causing him to fall. As we all fell into the sky sea. I felt my consciousness slip away. I soon woke up. My head in mythra's lap.
"How are you feeling?" mythra asked.
"Clearly i'm dead…why else would i be seeing a beautiful angel?" i asked with a smile.
"Oh shut it you!" mythra yelled with a blush and smile. I got up and looked around.
"Where are we?" i asked.
"If i had to guess. A forest in gormott." mythra replied. I looked around and noticed that rex, nia, pyra. And nia's blade. "Where is everybody?" i asked.
"They must have landed somewhere else." mythra said as she got up.
"Better find them before something else does." i said. As made our way through this forest. Only for us to be stopped a giant gogol. I readied myself to fight. Only for it to be beheaded by someone who isn't me or any of my blades. I saw the one responsible. A man wearing all white. Even his hair was right. And wearing a mask…a mask i was all too familiar with…with a bit of hesitation…i asked.
"...jin?"
