They found themselves standing outside a rather extravagant luxury hotel in City M. It was a good fifteen stories in height, and Saitama looked at Stable Rock with confusion. The powerful earth monster said, "It lives…in a host…that lingers…here…"
"A wealthy person?" Mitsumi frowned. "A benefactor for the association?"
"No. An…actor…of sorts…I think…" Stable Rock grunted at what he gleaned. Mitsumi blinked at this and gestured for Saitama's phone.
"What are you doing?" Saitama had to ask when she looked through the contacts. When she came up to Sweet Mask's number, he narrowed his eyes.
"He's an actor, too," she smiled. He paused at this and found himself thinking about it.
"So…you think we can use Sugar Face as a way to help us here?" he asked. She cringed with laughter and got squeezed by him. "Fine. Call him."
"You call him," Blue Ripple said to Saitama. Saitama paused at that and took up his phone. He pressed the auto-dial and waited.
"Hello?" Sweet Mask asked. The call was moved to speaker for Mitsumi to listen in on it.
"Hey. Stable Rock talked to us. Like…became human and talked to us. He said there's a Secret Skins with Mitsumi's fake mom's flea in it. One of the last one's around now. We're outside a luxury hotel. It affected an actor," Saitama said bluntly to explain the issue.
"What?!" Sweet Mask asked with shock.
"It was my idea to get you to see if you could help us bring this one out," Mitsumi chuckled lightly. "We need to catch this one. Stable Rock said the fleas are extremely different. We need the flea alive."
"Makes me think we should have kept one of those jars around from Mitsumi's place, but…yeah…it is what it is," Saitama said calmly.
"I see why you called. Hmm. I'll see if Inichi wants to help here, too," Sweet Mask said and disconnected the call. The phone was put away and she noticed that Saitama had a look of intense thought on his face.
"I should slap him when he gets here," Saitama mused.
"No. This place is too public," Mitsumi said with a small pout.
"It should be a public event to slap him!" he argued.
"He attacked you in a private setting. That was on our home grounds. It can't be out in the open. Give him that much, please," she said gently to get him grumbling. "We don't want him embarrassed to a point that he gets a bad spot on his reputation. Humility is one thing. Public demonetization is another. Think about it. I know it needs to be done, but not like that."
"I can static cling him…" Bright Bolt said with a low mutter.
"And it does small zaps…" Saitama seemed to grin at the idea.
"Ten minutes of very mild static cling may work as a way to tide things over for now," Mitsumi nodded with a small smile.
"If it's mild static, then it should be an hour," Bright Bolt said. Mitsumi sighed and found herself nodding with agreement. Saitama pulled Mitsumi close to squeeze her to him.
"I love you," he grinned and pressed a loving kiss to her mouth.
"I love you, too," she said softly and let him kiss her again.
"Think I can pinch him?" he muttered in her ear and grinned at her look of dismay. She gave him an eye roll.
"Now you just want reactions from me!" she sighed to get him laughing. They both looked over when Inichi arrived with Fubuki and Sweet Mask in his blue bubble of transport. He dropped them off a bit away so he could shift human. Saitama rested his gloved hand on Mitsumi's belly and noticed Overgrown Rover was huffing and running around in circles to get his attention.
"Press harder, Dad," Cold Snap frowned.
"Huh?!" Saitama blinked and did just that. His monster dog grunted and shifted larger to rest its muzzle against his hand to press into her more.
"Is something wrong?" Sweet Mask asked when he walked over.
"My son needs me. Bad," Saitama sighed and cradled Mitsumi.
"Hmm…" Stable Rock grunted and looked at Inichi.
"That's the one we need?" Inichi blinked at the image and sent it to Sweet Mask. A look of shocked recognition was given.
"There's no way that he's a Secret Skins!" Sweet Mask grimaced.
"One way to find out," Bright Bolt said. He watched the hero walk off towards the luxury hotel before letting a small bit of static cling settle in. And he timed it for when a set of trees with lighting was passed. At the sound of a light zap with Sweet Mask hissing out a swear at it, Saitama grinned a bit wickedly.
"What's going on?" Inichi asked after he shifted human. Then he coughed out laughter at the thoughts he gleaned from the pets.
"Why does Sweet Mask look itchy?" Fubuki blinked.
"It's static," Saitama grinned. She gasped and covered her mouth with her hands to keep from laughing outright.
"I'll make it go away when he confronts the one we need. Then it'll come back for a good hour after it's done," Bright Bolt nodded.
"And if he finds out it's you?" Mitsumi smiled and laughed at his affectionate lip nibble to her hand.
"I won't care. What's he gonna do before I zap him?" Bright Bolt seemed to snicker. Tangled Vine leapt up to Mitsumi's shoulders and curled up around her neck to purr. Blue Ripple gave a sound to show he wasn't pleased.
"We need to go in. Now," he said and blinked and milky white eyes. "It appears that we were expected. Something is wrong."
"All of the pets should shift small enough for us to carry them," Mitsumi said. This was quickly done, and Saitama found his arms full of Overgrown Rover and Stable Rock. Mitsumi was handling Blue Ripple, but Bright Bolt was content to trot along with them.
"Do you want me to hold Stable Rock?" Fubuki asked.
"No…" Stable Rock grunted and yawned with contentment.
"We'll be fine. Wait. I need to hold Mitsumi," Saitama frowned. "Doggy, you'll have to walk with us with Bright Bolt."
"I can hold it," Cold Snap said. The exchange was done to let Saitama keep a hand on Mitsumi's belly. As they approached, the fans came out from the fan belts to swirl around them protectively. It was when they opened the gilded gold front double doors that they saw the issue.
"Are you mad?!" Sweet Mask gaped at the false older man with a gun. The false man was standing on a balcony overlooking the main lobby. His finger was on the trigger and ready to shoot.
"I knew it was a matter of time before I was discovered. Don't worry, Sweet Mask. I shall ensure you get the same gift I did!" the false man chuckled. Then he looked over to see the small group that came in. He saw Saitama's eyes flicker with color of fiery coals. He started to pale a bit with shock.
"Nope," Saitama said with a shake of his bald head. "Not gonna happen."
"Is anyone injured?!" Fubuki asked.
"Not yet. Thankfully," Sweet Mask said with a determined stare at the false man. He was getting ready to leap into an attack.
"Hey, Dad," Cold Snap whispered to Saitama and tugged his cape.
"Hmm?" Saitama glanced down at him.
"Can I help?" his son grinned. Saitama thought about it and nodded.
"Put doggy down first, though," Saitama said. Overgrown Rover grew larger to go back to ensuring that his hand was back on Mitsumi's belly. After that, Cold Snap narrowed his glowing ice blue eyes and focused lightly.
"You'll never win against-!" the false man started before suddenly getting encased in a block of solid ice. Cold Snap grinned and laughed at the tickling side poke Saitama gave him. Blue Ripple smirked and levitated the ice block down to settle it before them for inspection.
"What…wait…how…?!" Sweet Mask paused at the situation before turning to look at Cold Snap's grinning face.
"My son wanted to help. I let him help," Saitama nodded. At the sound of the ice starting to crack, Bright Bolt focused on the electricity in the building. A harsh zap was given to completely stun the trapped false man out of commission.
"Hmm. He was breaking my ice," Cold Snap frowned. "Stable Rock, is his flea touched in any way?"
"No…" Stable Rock snorted. "Just…strong…monster…"
"Ugh," Blue Ripple grunted.
"Oh, thank you!" the hotel owner said when he rushed over. He neatened out his business dress attire and fixed his slicked back black hair while rushing over. "He was actually threatening us! We don't know why. He's been here many times before for extended stays. But the past few months, well…"
"He was attempting to blackmail you?" Inichi frowned at the thoughts gleaned. "And I know who that one is. That is Mano Masashi. He's a very well-known actor for romance and comedy. Why would he agree to being a Secret Skins? He's knocked out, so I can't glean anything."
"I can tell you more," the owner started and gaped at Overgrown Rover when it looked at him with all six lightly glowing eyes of ruby red coloring.
"Doggy, it's okay," Saitama said and pat it on the head. It huffed and sat down contentedly. It was easily up to his waist in height, and it mouthed at his hand to press against Mitsumi's belly a bit more. "Right. Keep doing that. What else do we know about all this?"
"Hey," Zenchu said when he appeared with a gust of wind. "Wind Crane sent me. My daughter, Starlight, is learning how to work with dreams. Even daydreams and thoughts. She was able to help me get answers for you."
"Ah! I need to meet my baby sister!" Mitsumi said with delight.
"You will," Zenchu chuckled with a nod. "She's sleeping right now. Wind Crane is mentoring her with meditation."
"What was found out?" Inichi asked. Sweet Mask walked over to learn what happened with the others.
"He thought he was signing a contract for a new play by the fake mom. When the deal was done and he got infected, well…he realized he could do a lot more. Even though he was tricked, he accepted everything in full," Zenchu frowned. "We can offer to try and cure him, but I doubt he'll accept it."
"He wanted me to become like him," Sweet Mask grimaced.
"Yep. He's gone," Saitama nodded. "We'll take him home and snip out the flea there."
"We should see if we can save the skin, though. If he decides to not be cured. Or we have the flea removed to cure him and then send him to jail," Mitsumi grinned lightly. Sweet Mask rose a brow at the idea. "We need those fleas, anyways. But we don't know if that one will make a flea if it's removed…"
"Ah, Lady Mitsumi, there is something I need to tell you," Zenchu said with a small, sheepish smile.
"What?" Mitsumi asked.
"You…kept…one…?!" Stable Rock asked with surprise.
"Yeah. One of the jars from your old home. Metal Knight…sort of…insisted on it. He kept it under lock and key. He knew there would be some form of confrontation when it was discovered on what he did, but as we need them to check on things with GOD monsters now, well…" Zenchu shrugged.
"Okay. I don't like that I was lied to, but I never asked if a jar was kept. Only that we wanted them all destroyed. Since we need it now, fine. I'll let it slide. But don't let any of them escape!" Saitama said with complete protective warning. "I don't want any of them to think they have a chance."
"That won't happen," Tangled Vine chuckled. "I can replicate sleeping gas from a flowering plant."
"That you could! I'll have some pots set up around them so you can prepare them," Inichi nodded.
"Genos could even separate them into their own jars, too, to make it easier to handle them. That should be easy for him," Fubuki smiled.
"He's…shocked that we kept a jar. He will get on that now," Inichi said on reaching out to him mentally.
"What's the next plan with you here?" Zenchu asked. "I need to get back to Wind Crane, but I want to ensure that things are good here first."
"We need to get this guy back home. For the flea he has," Saitama said.
"I can help! Zenchu, let me know where to send this guy. I'll get him over to City Z," Cold Snap said. "I can focus on your thoughts. No one should mess with him, though. Not until we get home to check things out."
"Got it," Zenchu said and thought to Wind Crane to get transported back. Cold Snap got the mental image and let the frozen false man flicker out with an ice blue spark for quick transport. Only after Cold Snap opened his eyes with a smile to show it was done did Saitama nod to him.
"There is a small issue with an outstanding debt from Mr. Masashi," the hotel owner started. Sweet Mask looked over at him curiously.
"Hmm…" Inichi frowned and kept Fubuki against his side. "You just let him stay here for free?"
"Well…" the man sighed. "He threatened to harm the staff. Refused to cooperate! He always stayed locked up in his room, too."
"Show us his room," Mitsumi said.
"Until the debt is paid-" the man started. Saitama rose up his gloved hand to shut him up.
"How much did he owe?" Saitama asked.
"Over a hundred thousand yen," he replied.
"That's a lie," Inichi said flatly.
"Doggy, no," Saitama said quickly when Overgrown Rover growled. It wasn't shifting small yet to keep his hand on Mitsumi's belly, but it made no other move to do anything.
"Indeed. He owed around twenty thousand. You recognized Mitsumi as being the heir of the Takashi fortune," Blue Ripple bristled with protection. "You were hoping to get more out of her!"
"Hold on, please," Mitsumi said. She bent down to gently cuddle Blue Ripple to calm him down. Then she rose up and regarded the man. "Is what they say true? Just be honest, please."
"I…I'm sorry…" the man frowned hard. "What they say is true."
"Okay. The only way I will give you that amount is if I purchase a permanent room here," she said with a small smile.
"Really?!" Saitama asked with shock.
"Yes. We don't have a place in City M yet. Of course, this would mean that the Hero Association would need to come here and inspect things," Mitsumi said and gave a small glance at Sweet Mask's small grin.
"I think that would be a fair deal," Tangled Vine said from her shoulders and flicked his tail. "This way you'll get protection from the association."
"Oh…" the hotel owner paused at the idea.
"And, if this place will have a permanent residence from us, we'll be visiting now and then to stay the night if we're in town," Saitama said. "That means no one should gain access to the room at all. Even for mild cleaning."
"And I would want the very best room, too," Mitsumi nodded.
"But…to permanently purchase?! I mean…" the man fumbled over his words. "I don't think that can happen."
"Then I will not pay you anything more than the true debt that was owed," Mitsumi said with an elegant nod.
"Well…" the man grimaced. "I do…have a room that's most of the top floor. It's a penthouse suite. No one ever rents it unless incredibly wealthy. It's fifty thousand yen for a night."
"And that's why you won't sell it. Technically, I would only be paying for two nights in it. Hmm. You know who I am. You know that money is nothing to me. I want to see this room and evaluate it. Now!" Mitsumi said with an air that she didn't want to wait. The owner stammered and was quick to advise his staff to have the room ready.
"What are you thinking of?" Saitama murmured to her.
"I want our pets to get a layout of the room. If they approve, I'll buy the room for a ridiculous amount and ensure no one can get in without permission. But, if our pets think they can recreate the room elsewhere…" she grinned. He grinned back and kissed her passionately.
"I want…to see…this place…now!" Stable Rock growled out from Saitama's arms.
"As do I. I was never informed of this room," Sweet Mask said with a bit of dismay. "Did you know of it, Inichi?"
"This is also a first for me. It was, supposedly, only offered to the most elite of the elite. With Lady Mitsumi having all of her wealth, it put her in that class," Inichi said with complete mistrust.
"And if his room isn't up to my standards, we'll tell him so. I'll tell him so. And if we have to pay off a debt to get into that room the Secret Skins was in, then fine," Saitama seemed to grumble at it.
"Lady Mitsumi!" Siren said when she ran over to them from the elevators.
"Siren!" Mitsumi beamed and they hugged.
"Don't worry about the room. I checked it. Metal Knight had me come over when Zenchu told him what was up. I found this," Siren said and handed over a diary. "It's…not good."
"Oh?" Saitama frowned and looked through it. His eyes narrowed at the most recent page written in. "Mitsumi. We need to check the room you want. Then we have to check into the training chamber. The Secret Skins are also looking for the secret artifacts you need."
"What?!" Mitsumi asked with a horrified tone. Stable Rock gleaned Saitama's thoughts on what was discovered. Then he mused at an idea.
"When we…know…where the…chambers…are…I can…move them…" Stable Rock snickered. Cold Snap found himself laughing at the idea.
"You could totally move them!" Bright Bolt said with excitement.
"We could leave a chamber of traps behind," Tangled Vine said wickedly. "I wouldn't mind that at all."
"Or a chamber that can flood with water," Blue Ripple mused.
"Even…a…trigger…to set…the…trap…" Stable Rock grinned.
"Yes!" Bright Bolt said and flicked his tail. "We set a center button that says 'Do not push!' and they do it! It would be awesome!"
"And they would press that button," Inichi said with a soft laugh.
"The trap…alerts us…and brings…them…to us…" Stable Rock mused.
"Okay, Dad, you know we have to check out Mom's place next!" Cold Snap beamed. Saitama found himself sighing, but he nodded with agreement.
"Anyways, shall we check out that room?" Mitsumi asked.
"I'll stay with you," Siren smiled.
"I am quite curious of the layout. I did not have Siren infiltrate the room you might be purchasing. Only the room from the other was checked. There really was nothing else of interest. So, if you are not pleased with this 'luxury room', you can leave and let the owner handle that debt with the correct officials," Metal Knight said.
"That means he'll be bothering me," Sweet Mask muttered.
"Good. Do your job and clean up your old friend's mess," Saitama nodded.
"Or, you can take the money from the Neutral Grounds fund from the association and pay it back," Mitsumi smiled.
"Would that include interest?" Inichi asked with a small grin.
"Only if not paid back within a year," she chuckled. Sweet Mask stared at her with a bit of shock. "What? It would count against something that is not responsible for the restaurant. If you can't afford it, then the money can be like a loan. It's that simple."
"No…" Stable Rock grunted. "I will…help…this once…"
"Why?" Saitama frowned.
"Because…us…being here…is…from me…" Stable Rock nodded.
"Ahh!" Mitsumi smiled and scratched around his ears to make him swoon.
"So…you'll take responsibility. Okay," Saitama agreed.
"And…if…my stones…are sold…" the powerful earth monster snickered.
"More places to spy in. Very good," Metal Knight agreed from Siren's ring.
"Let's go…" Stable Rock grunted with impatience. He looked over to see Fire Flight walking in with Shenjou on her arm.
"I grew tired of you having all the fun!" Fire Flight pouted.
"I tried to keep her home," Shenjou shrugged.
"It's fine. It just shows that I'm not only rich, but extremely popular," Mitsumi winked and got embraced in a sisterly way.
"I also had to arrive to ensure the fire within you is stable," Fire Flight said with a sense of seriousness. "It is good that your dog is so vigilant in this. Wind Crane also wanted me to be here on her behalf to assist further. She is tending to a young one now."
"As Zenchu said," Saitama nodded.
"Hello! Can I help you with anything?" a waiting serving girl asked while walking over. Bright Bolt snorted and snickered at Cold Snap acting shy. Saitama pat his back lightly to keep him calm in a fatherly way. Tangled Vine yawned and stayed wrapped around Mitsumi's neck. Stable Rock ignored her and focused on getting small pets from Saitama. Overgrown Rover was happily getting cuddles from Mitsumi and not caring about anything else. Blue Ripple pressed into Mitsumi's side for returned affection.
"We are waiting for the penthouse suite to be ready. And I'm getting tired of waiting," Mitsumi said with the same dramatic flair that wealthy individuals always gave off. "I am going to head up there now. Ready or not."
"As she said," Saitama said with a neutral stare.
"Oh. Um…well, you need to be escorted up there…" the girl started.
"What is so special about this room?" Inichi asked now with a narrowed gaze. He glanced over with his red eyes and black cat pupils to see Blue Ripple getting pissed at what he was gleaning.
"Can I zap him? Please?" Bright Bolt asked on what was being mentally revealed to them all. The girl backed away when Overgrown Rover growled protectively until Saitama calmed it down with a head pat.
"No. Because I will set him ablaze!" Fire Flight spat out. Her already glowing red eyes were now even more intense with anger.
"What's going on? Who are you talking about?" Mitsumi asked.
"He's changing the room around. To make it look like if you walk in, you cause damage," Cold Snap mumbled out. "The owner of this place."
"Then fine. Let's leave," Saitama said with a small smile.
"What?" Sweet Mask asked.
"Let's go. He wants to frame us for damaging his rooms? Fine. He can be left alone to deal with all the charges and fix his own mess. We don't need his hotel. Mitsumi and I can build our own. In fact…hmm…" Saitama mused. "Inichi, how much space can we get behind Neutral Grounds?"
"There really aren't that many buildings behind us. It was mainly the sides. There is no major street behind us, either. Just a small alleyway. Oh! You want to…?!" Inichi asked with sheer amusement. Fubuki looked at him with a hint of a smile to show she was catching on to Saitama's idea.
"Yeah. Neutral Grounds will still be a restaurant. But, let's make it the main front to an intensely luxurious hotel lobby," Saitama grinned a bit wickedly. "Another bit of fund raising for heroes that need a place to stay. And fans of theirs can also have a chance to hang out with them in a more 'behind the scenes' setting."
"We could even have cured Secret Skins work there, too! Even those that wish to work at Neutral Grounds and be right there. Rent free if they work at the restaurant, too," Mitsumi beamed at the idea.
"Yes!" Stable Rock said with complete agreement.
"That would be so cool!" Siren beamed.
"I am already looking into acquiring the area we need. Leave that to me," Metal Knight chuckled. "We can acquire another fifty thousand feet behind us."
"We'd have to rebuild the back wall, though. And other areas," Mitsumi frowned. "I don't know…"
"It will be incredibly easy with my help. Give me a night to get it done," Metal Knight said confidently. "My dear, Siren, can you continue with them to the training room? I need to ensure it will work in our favor."
"Of course!" Siren agreed.
"Wait!" the owner said when he finally ran over to them.
"Nope. We're leaving. We have GOD monsters as pets. They discovered what you wanted to pull. We're done. Keep your crap room. We can make another one that is four times and more the size of yours. And we can make it better. We're done here," Saitama said flatly and set down Stable Rock. "However, my pet here wants to pay off the debt from that one guy. It's because of my pet that we're here. So, he wants to ensure that's done."
"Yes…" Stable Rock grunted and grew to the size of a small horse. He glared at the shaking man and blinked his glowing amber eyes. He focused on his shell to let a few loose gems of various sizes fall to the floor. "Sell…those…for your…needs…"
"Ah…oh…!" the man blinked.
"Now…we leave…" Stable Rock snorted and shrunk small again. He looked up at Saitama cutely to get lifted up and his ears scratched. "Ooooh!"
"I saw what the room looked like from his thoughts," Blue Ripple grunted. "When you first walk in, there's a waterfall on the wall. It's nice, but that's the only good feature in the room. The rest of it is nice carpeting, good tile and excellent furniture. Hmm. Your bedroom in your original home is nicer. The one from your parents, that is. I want you to make the top floor your main room. Make yourself a penthouse that we can decorate."
"That…that would be pretty cool!" Saitama blinked at the idea.
"We go…home…tomorrow…?" Stable Rock asked while getting carried out. "Tonight…the other…place…?"
"That's the plan. Training room now?" Mitsumi smiled and squeaked with joy at Tangled Vine's nuzzling purr.
"Yes. Let us go," Fire Flight smiled and kept herself on Shenjou's arm.
"Can I static cling the owner?" Bright Bolt asked.
"Yes. Three hours," Saitama nodded. "Make him zap hard, too."
"Can I join you for this?" Sweet Mask asked.
"Is Tajima doing well on her own?" Mitsumi asked him directly.
"She was working on a new script. She is well for now," he nodded.
"Eh…fine. But don't get in the way. Or I get in your way," Saitama warned. "Just listen to what we need you to do."
"If you argue, you will write me a script," Inichi said sternly.
"I won't do anything rash," Sweet Mask vowed.
"We'll see," Fubuki said and blushed at Inichi's squeeze.
"Okay. Next stop, training room," Mitsumi smiled.
"I'll make sure everything is good when we get there," Siren nodded.
"I remember where it is. Want me to get us there?" Cold Snap asked.
"Let…me…" Stable Rock grunted. Mitsumi's fans were out the whole time and now they finally moved to settle back into her belt holders. Overgrown Rover huffed and found itself crowded in the center of the group when they all vanished into the earth for transport.
