Episode- Birth week

Of basketballs and birth week songs. {1}

There are some things Tori was grateful for in life like,

Her family

Moving to LA

Meeting Beck and Jade

Meeting Andre

And most of all getting accepted into HA

But some things irritated the hell out of her and obviously included finding a gift for Trina.

Why?

The girl had more than enough money in her bank account to buy what she wanted and dad also gave her his unlimited credit card for shopping on her birth week.

In a word, Trina Vega was spoiled. But that is not her fault in a household with absent parents, strict grandparents, and no real friends, they both craved love and care.

Tori remembered a time when Trina would be happy even if she got only chocolate and a hug from her sister, but last year she even criticized the silver pendant with their childhood picture inside, and a quote is written best sister ever on the outside. She said something about it that looked fake and not creative enough.

Tori always wanted to be the one to give the best present to Trina, since childhood, maybe because they only had each other most time. But in one year they were separated, Tori still in Seattle completing her middle school and Trina at LA pursuing her dream school, they just grew apart. Trina changed a lot in that year.

Tori sat dejectedly after realizing her idea of Fazzini boots had failed.

"You know you had to get her something else?"

"I know!"

"Well you could always give chee.."

"I am not giving her cheese!"

"What about a song?"

"That's great ..but I don't know how to write a song?"

"What has got two fingers, knows how to write a song to help a friend… this guy!"

And so they began working on a song for Trina.

A few hours later

"Oh shit!"

"What happened?"

"I am late! Some of my old Sherwood friends asked me to meet them, But i am so late"

"Oh"

"Can you really get the lyrics finished!"

"Obviously, C'mon I will drop you off!"

"Oh no no need for that I will ride my bike, you know i really need some fresh air!"

"You sure it's pretty late"

"Yeah "

"Fine then."

Tori quickly shot off to the destination.

She reached the doorstep and rang the bell.

"I know I am late and I am so so sorry for it!"

"Oh honey it's okay," Beck's mother said.

"Are they here?"

"Yeah in the kitchen, I should warn you she is scarier with knives."

She went inside the kitchen.

"Hey!"

"You are fifteen minutes late!" Jade replied, peeling the skin of a carrot while she stood against the wall.

"And I am so sorry for it"

"Let me guess you're still trying to find a present for Trina?" Beck asked.

"Actually I found one, Andre offered to help me write a song for her, and he is amazing at it you should…"

"I don't care about you and Andre spending time on our three month anniversary!" Jade stormed out

"Did she cook? " Tori asked Beck

"No, Mom only trusted us enough to make the salad"
"Oh good! "

"So, you know you are currently stealing my best friend"

"What can I say I am good at stealing be it hearts or basketballs"

They both laughed and made their way to the backyard.

"I haven't kept you waiting, Steve, right?"

"You have but I will rejoice when I win today" Beck's dad remarked

"Seriously you are telling that for a whole year now" Beck's mom added

"C'mon darling you should back me up"

"Nah, I am with the girls."
"So Jade are you playing?"

"Nah Tori is enough for you two "

Tori, Beck and Beck's dad started the game, the ball was with Steve first but soon Tori stole it and scored the first basket, then Beck scored, Tori, Steve, Beck….. And by the end of the game, it was still Tori who won.

They all sat at the dinner table enjoying their meal, Tori smiled at the warm feeling,

Flashback one year ago

"But mom, the match is "

"Yeah, but can't you make it? It's the finale."

"No. it's okay I understand," Tori sighed. It has always been this way, all she wanted was for her parents to be there for her, and support her, but they never had enough time.

She was so excited for the basketball match this Friday, She was one of the only two freshers on the team, which was already a major accomplishment, but like every other time, her parents didn't care.

Trina wanted to celebrate her birthday in Hawaii, and they took her there. Tori stayed back because of the match, at least she hoped they would return by Friday but no.

She dejectedly sat on the bleachers

"Hey" Sierra, one of her teammates said

"Hey"

"Let me guess your parents couldn't make it "

"Yeah"

"They suck no offence but they do?"

"I gotta get going" She picked up her bag and started walking briskly,

"Wait I will drop you off"

"No thanks, I just need fresh air"

"You sure?"

"Yeah!"

Well, what more can she say, that she still gets hurt when nobody shows up to her games That she is just a broken girl trying to hide behind a peppy face. That's not something you want your teammates to know.

SPLASH

As if her day was not going bad enough, A speeding car went splashing water on her clothes.

"Damn It! And yes don't even apologize" She screamed at the car.

The car rolled back again splashing water on her.

"What in the world? Are you blind?"

"Sorry!" The driver said, rolling down the window.

"You?" Tori asked

"Oh hey, Tori!" Beck greeted.

"Can we go again splashing her with water? I was enjoying It!" Jade interrupted.

"No!" Both of them said together

"Uh So boring!"

"So do you need a ride?"

"No, I need to clear my head!"

"You can't go wearing that anyway?" Beck commented.

Tori looked down at her stained clothes, "You are probably right?"

"C'mon in? Jade keeps some spare clothes at my house you would probably fit in"

"I am not giving her my clothes!"

"Well, she would fit in some of my shirts anyway!"

"Yeah, whatever, but not my clothes!"

"Do you two always fight?"

"Shut up!" they both said.

Tori just raised her hands and stayed quiet for the rest of the ride.

"A little warning my mom could be a little loud!"

The door opened and they were greeted by a woman in her late 40s

"Ah there is my son and his dark witch,... Oh and who is this new face?"

"I am Tori Vega,"

"Mom, I accidentally splashed water on her and so offered a change of clothes "

"Oh and she doesn't live too far away from here" Jade added.

"Honey, are you sure we didn't have Twins" Beck's mom shouted.

"How many times have I had to tell you? No!" another male voice shouted back.

"Why don't you come in honey, I promise I tried to raise him as a gentleman but he turned into a douche!"

"Mom!"

"Jade, why don't you show her to Beck's old room?"

"Uhh fine. Follow me" Jade commanded.

Tori got out of the bathroom after getting changed, "Hey!" Jade interrupted.

"Yes"

"I remember your sister shouting in the hallways that she is going to Hawaii !"

"She is in Hawaii !"

"Oh, so what are you doing here, did your parents forget you?"

"No! I stayed back because I am on the basketball team and we have our finals this Friday!" Tori sighed.

"Uhh, so she will be back by Friday! So irritating!"

"No, they won't be back till next week!"

"Ohh, that's unfortunate !"

"Anyway, I really gotta go! I also need to pick up dinner on the way"

"Well, I am obviously not stopping you!"

"Thanks"

"But I am!" Beck's mom said entering the room.

"Mrs. Oliver I really need to leave"

"Oh c'mon I heard there is no one in your home and anyway I always prepare more than enough food, so please join us."

"But.."

"No buts, c'mon " She pulled Tori into the dining hall.

They were having a peaceful dinner when Beck's dad broke the silence.

"So Tori, I heard you play basketball?"

"Yeah!"

"You know I was the captain of the basketball team in college"

"Really?"

"How many times do I have to listen to this story?" Jade snarked.

"Yeah Dad, it's already late If you want to talk about basketball, I will bring her home one day you can play basketball with her too you know?"

"Oh, will you do that dear?"

"Of Course sir, I would be happy to!"

"Just call me Steve!"
