The Professor:

After the fight in the lower levels to protect the vigilante known as Archangel who turned out to be Commander Shepard's old friend Garrus Vakarian. They had been forced to fight against several major criminal gangs who had teamed together as Garrus had been disrupting their criminal activities. They had been able to take out the gangs and their leaders except for the Guavian Death Gang who fled at the end but Garrus had taken a serious hit from a gunship missile and had to be taken for medical treatment. Garrus was breathing but just barely and so they had rushed back as fast as they could so that Dr Chakwas could perform treatment. Joker had been radioed as so he had sent the shuttle pilot, a male black human called Steve Cortez to pick them up. They had been able to get back to the Normandy and push Garrus for medical care.

Soon, Shepard stood in the meeting room of the Normandy with Jacob and Miranda. "Commander." Jacob greeted "Dr Chakwas has done a full medical examination on Garrus but he took a bad hit. She says that she can perform surgery and provide some cybernetic implants to repair the nerve damage."

"Overall Garrus seems to be lucky." Miranda added "Not many people can take a gunship missile to the face and survive. Garrus will be a real asset to the team and he trusts you though he may not trust us as much."

"Garrus knows that the world is not black and white." Shepard replied "He'll help us just because I'm here."

"With Archangel now recruited, I suppose it's time we turn our attention to the other people on our list, Mordin Solus and Bao Dur." Miranda stated

"But before we head back to Omega, you might want to head down to Engineering deck." Jacob stated "Apparently our chief engineers Kenneth Donnelly and Gabriella Daniels apparently need some assistance with getting some parts from Omega."

"I'll go see what they need." Shepard replied and then she left the room.

...

The Engineering Deck of the Normandy SR2 was much bigger than the one on the SR1. On the SR1, the Engineering area was combined with the Storage area in one deck, here they were two separate decks. The ship's drive core was shielded to protect the core from overloading and protect the crew from radiation so it was a dangerous job. The deck had a number of terminals which were used by the engineers to monitor the core and make sure it ran smoothly.

Shepard soon went down and encountered two crewmembers, one male and one female, looking over a terminal "Commander." The male one greeted "I'm Engineer Ken Donnelly, I handle the ship's power control systems. This is Gabby."

The female engineer scoffed "That's engineer Gabby Daniels actually!" she hissed "I handle the propulsion systems."

"I want to know my crew a bit better." Shepard stated "It helps boost morale, so where did you get your training?"

"Gabby and I have served together before in the Republic fleet." Ken replied "We served on the RSV Perugia."

"We were there during the first wave of the Battle of the Citadel." Gabby added "We saw both Sovereign and the First Order fleet first hand."

"So why did you both leave the Republic fleet?" Shepard asked

"After the destruction of the original Normandy, the Republic and the Citadel tried to downplay the threat of the First Order and even the Reapers." Ken replied "Even with the rise of the First Order, the Republic just didn't want to risk an all out war and chose to try and ignore facts. That didn't go over well with either one of us."

"We actually lost friends that we knew from the engineering academy during the battle." Gabby added "The First Order has powerful weapons, we saw that Dreadnought tear through our dreadnoughts like butter. We lost respect for leadership and Cerberus seemed to be fighting the real enemy. We were both outspoken and Ken here nearly got court marshalled for insubordination."

"That got me noticed by the Illusive Man who made me an offer." Ken added "I asked Gabby to join me and she pushed for Cerberus to join us."

"We also don't actually know much about Cerberus other than the Normandy crew and our mission." Gabby said "We have heard some bad things about Cerberus but you hear bad things about any group, we just don't know the whole story but we will serve you well against the First Order."

Shepard remembered why she had came down here, Jacob said that they were having some trouble "Officer Jacob informed me that you two were having some problems here." She said "So what's wrong?"

"The problem is just with how long it takes to calibrate the FBA arrays." Ken replied "When they upgraded the Normandy's design, they got a bit sloppy with the FBA couplings."

"The short answer is that is we have some T-6 FBA couplings installed, it would save us a lot of work each day." Gabby added

"So why don't we have them already?" Shepard wondered

"Well it's probably because it doesn't affect efficiency." Gabby answered "It's just a maintenance thing that was overlooked."

"Also the T-6 couplings can be hard to find now." Ken added "Their maker Nashan Stellar Dynamics discontinued them years ago. You could probably find some of the used markets of Omega, they always sells ship scrapes there."

"Well one of our recruits is located in the market area." Shepard replied "I'll see what I can do."

...

Soon enough, Shepard was back in Omega with Miranda, Jacob and Zaeed. It was time for them to look for their other recruits but Shepard wanted to run 2 quick errands first. There was something she had to tell Aria about what they had discovered while recruiting Archangel and she wanted to see if she could find the T-6 couplings that her engineers wanted. That would provide a perfect time to search the market for Bao-Dur.

They quickly returned to the Afterlife night club and walked to Aria's couch where Aria motioned her to sit down "I heard there was a major fight down in the slums. The leaders of several major gangs are dead and their forces annihilated for the most part. Now the Crimson Dawn and the Pike Syndicate will probably take over just like they planned. I don't really care about them as long as they recognise me as the leader here."

"I don't know about Dawn and Pike but those other gangs weren't very good to you." Shepard stated "My team recovered this datapad, it seemed that once the gangs were finished with Archangel, they were planning on coming after you next."

"Let me see." Aria ordered and Shepard handed her the datapad which she read through. "Interesting." She seemed calm but then she threw the datapad hard at her bodyguard Garka "Would someone mind telling me how this information slipped the net?"

Garka, a Batarian bodyguard stuttered "I'll look into it."

"Good and while you're at it, find Bala Tik, I've heard he's the only gang leader to survive that battle!" Aria ordered "Bring him alive, I want to learn more about what he was doing and then he'll learn the consequences of messing with me!" she then turned to Shepard "Thanks for the head's up, I'll need to do a little reorganizing." She then handed Shepard a new datapad "Here, I want you to have this, it's a location of a cache that I hide some of my goods at. They'll all yours for what you've done."

"Thanks for the help there." Shepard replied "Now I must be going, I still have to find my other recruits."

"Good luck and give the First Order Hell" Aria smiled back.

...

After finishing with Aria, the team went back through the main drinking area of Omega and out into the market place. The market here was not like the market on the Citadel or Arcturus Station. Here the market was full of potential thieves or murderers. There were large numbers of Vorcha and Batarians which looked very hostile since they gave nasty looks to Shepard's team as they walked through. They even saw a Batarian on the stand speaking against the entire humans race as being part of the First Order. Many Batarians seemed to listen as they looked like they had come from Lorek, the Batarian colony that was recently bombed by the First Order. Aria had a few guards to make sure no all out riot broke out since it was bad for business.

The market did have a few shops and Shepard was quickly able to find the T-6 cables she had been looking for. A Quarian called Kenn had been left trapped here after losing his ship and was left with no way off Omega except to sell scrape in order to try and make money to book passage on another ship. This was made harder because of an Elcor named Harriot who forced Kenn to sell at high prices driving customers away. Still Shepard had been able to convince Harrot to stop and now she had a discount at both shops. Kenn had a set of T-6 couplings that he had salvaged and gave them to Shepard for free since she helped him. Shepard also bought M-96 Mattock assault rifle so the team could use them later.

At Harrot's shop, Shepard bought an M-460 Blackstorm heavy weapon that could wipe out groups of enemies at once in tight spaces and even bough a model of a Geth ship that she could display in the display cabinet in her private room on the Normandy. At Omega's market shop, she bought another model which was of a Turian Cruiser and then she decided to try and find Bao Dur, she had a tip from Kenn who informed her that he had seen a creative Zabrak at another scrap store who was good at creating filters but he had run off recently when some people began asking about his origins. Kenn informed them that the Zabrak had told him that he was planning on going to see Professor Solus to try and help him with the plague as there was also some issues with the filtration and water systems down there.

Shepard and the team soon approached the entrance to the district where Aria had told them there had been an outbreak of plague and the area had been sealed off to prevent the spread of it. There was a Turian guard preventing anyone from entering and a human woman seemed to be complaining.

"Complaining is pointless human." The guard stated seeming irritated "There's a plague here, nobody gets in or out."

"You can't just keep me out." The woman complained "I live there."

The guard was getting even more irritated "I told you to get lost!" he snapped "The plague has this entire zone quarantined, nobody gets in."

"I'm human you dumbass!" the lady snapped back "Humans can't get the plague, now let me get my stuff before those looters get to it!"

"This plague affects every other race except for the Vorcha!" the guard angrily hissed "Just because you humans can't get sick from it doesn't mean you can't spread it. We're not taking any chances with that. Nobody gets in until this plague has run its course."

Shepard did see that the Turian had a good point, plagues can spread like wildfire if they're not contained so sealing the district may have been good for the rest of Omega but not for the residents. It was a hard choice to make and sometimes lives had to be sacrificed for the good of the population, it was a horrible choice to make, one that Shepard knew sometimes she had to make but right now, they needed to get into the slums to find her recruits but maybe now she could also find out more about the plague.

"I'm looking for a Salarian doctor called Mordin Solus, I've heard I could find him here." Shepard stated

"Ah the Salarian doctor." The guard replied "I've met him and he's a crazy bastard. He opened the clinic in the district a few months ago to help when the plague originally started but the quarantine hadn't been imposed yet. The Blue Suns weren't too happy when he moved in. I hear he's been trying to help with a cure, I wish him luck but the place is still locked down. Our orders are to wait until the plague or the Blue Suns kill everyone and we go in and clean up."

"So tell me more about this plague?" Shepard asked

The guard sighed "It all started off as a cough and then you start coughing blood and then, well I shoot you. It affects multiple species, Turians, Salarian, Krogan, you name it. Only the humans are unaffected and so are Vorcha if you count them as a species but Vorcha are immune to disease as a whole. That hasn't gone down well and led to rumours that humans created the plague or at least the First Order did and after Lorak well most seemed to believe it. Many Batarian refugees fled to the district and then the plague broke out. Life for humans isn't much better in there now, survivors have turned on the humans and the Blue Suns chapter here has been decimated since most of them were Turians or Batarians in this chapter. I heard they killed the human members and then decided to kill any human they could find. The plague decimated them has also made the Blood Pact make a move, since most are Vorcha, they have an advantage over the Blue Suns."

Shepard knew she had to get in there "Look, I don't want a fight but I have to get in there. I need to get Mordin Solus, I'm trying to stop the First Order and if they did engineer this plague then I need to see if I can find proof. It may help convince others to unite against the First Order."

"Look I'm not going to stop you." The guard replied "Frankly I'm only really meant to keep people out. You guys look like you can hold yourselves in a fight unlike others here. Just be warned that I won't be letting you out unless the plague has been cured."

This did not go down well with the woman "Wait, you're letting them in but not me!"

"They can handle themselves in a fight." The guard replied "Trust me I am protecting you, you'll be shot before you even get to your apartment by the Blue Suns, survivors or looters."

...

After the guard let them past, Shepard and her team took an elevator that took them towards the bottom of Omega to the Slums, more specifically an area called the Gozu District. The area looked like it had once been a place full of housing for people, now it was little more than a waste ground. Bodies were left in the streets to rot and others were left in fire pits. Most likely to try and stop the plague from spreading.

"I guess they just left the bodies in the street." Jacob commented

"Too afraid they would catch the plague themselves in they touched them." Miranda added

"Plague control as it's most basic, pile the bodies in the street and burn them." Zaeed commented

"Doesn't look like it worked." Shepard stated "But why so many Batarian bodies, surely not everyone live here."

"Refugees from Lorek probably." Zaeed stated "They needed somewhere to go."

Shepard soon managed to get into one of the apartments where a Turian lay on the ground near the door, he looked like he had been trying to claw his way out, the Blue Suns seemed to have sealed the door. An audio log nearby confirmed that theory and showed that the two people who lived here were locked in when they showed signs of the plague and then abandoned where they both soon died of the plague. A nearby bank terminal allowed Shepard to gain some credits which would at least go to good use.

As they left the area, Shepard noticed one of the Batarian bodies moving and went to look, she saw that the Batarian was still alive although he didn't look too happy to see them.

"Ba, humans!" he grumbled coughing "Should have guessed, bad enough that you infect with this plague. Now you lack the decency to even wait until I die before you steal my possessions. Your species is the only one that does not succumb to this disease, you and those damn Vorcha."

"I'm looking for Dr Mordin Solus." Shepard stated "I'm not here to loot."

"Humans looking for that human sympathiser." The Batarian grumbled "I hope the Vorcha burn Mordin and his clinic to the ground. I hope you all..." he began couching hard and coughing up blood. He was very sick and close to dying.

Shepard was not going to just sit back and watch a man die. She may not like Batarians hugely but they weren't all evil, one of her old teammates had been a Batarian. "Hey, just hold on, this won't cure the plague but it will help with the pain a bit." She gave the Batarian some medicine and the Batarian regained his strength and was able to stand up.

"You, you helped me, but why?" he asked

"Not all humans are bad just like how I know not all Batarians are bad despite your reputation amongst us." Shepard replied "I had a Batarian friend who helped me on missions before. She would not let an innocent die. I'm not sure I can cure this plague but I will try."

"Your words sound sincere." The Batarian replied "Maybe it's the fever but what have I got to lose. You have given me a flicker of hope to brighten the darkness of my final hours. Be warned, Mordin is a dangerous man, the Blue Suns tried to press him for protection money but he killed them all so quickly and easily. Stunned them with some kind of toxin and then shot them. He's no mere doctor, he must have some kind of special training in the military."

"So what do you know about this plague, you've seen it firsthand?" Shepard asked

"This plague is too potent to be a naturally occurring virus." The Batarian replied "Airborne transmissions across multiple species, near perfect mortality rate, it had to have been created in a lab. And since humans are the only ones not affected, there was only one logical conclusion. The Vorcha aren't smart enough to make a virus like this, they're scavengers. Sorry human you may not want to believe it but all the evidence points to you."

Jacob had a theory "Shepard, maybe it was the First Order that created this plague but they didn't release it here." He suggested "Many Batarians who fled from Lorek came here, if the First Order used a biological agent there as part of the bombing, it would have spread here when the refugees came pouring in."

"But wouldn't that affect the other areas that the refugees are from?" Zaeed questioned

"All the refugees here are from the capital city of Jalnor." The Batarian replied "The city was the first target and was subjected the gas bombings. Maybe that's where the disease came from."

"If that's true then evidence will need to be found and the galaxy warned about what the First Order can do." Miranda stated "Chemical bombing is a grave war crime by both the Republic and the Citadel."

"We'll find that information later." Shepard said "Right now we need to find Mordin." She looked at the Batarian "It's best you stay here but I'll send someone to help once I find Mordin."

"Thank you human and goodbye." The Batarian replied.

A short distance away from the sick Batarian, they managed to unlock the door of another sealed apartment to find a dead Batarian lying on the bed, a data log revealed that the Blue Suns had sealed the door trying to stop the spread of the plague. Unlike the last apartment, this occupant wasn't sick and instead he starved to death instead.

In the next area was what seemed to have been a marketplace that was filled with burning bodies, a group of Blue Suns Turian soldiers attacked them on sight but it seemed the plague had taken a toll on them and were quickly dealt with. Shepard also managed to salvage some circuit boards before bypassing another door allowing them into another apartment where a few humans seemed to be staying, a husband and wife by the looks of it."

"Humans, oh thank god." The wife stated

"When we heard that door open we feared the Turians had found us." the husband finished "Ever since this plague started the Blue Suns have been out to get us. They're killing as many people as the disease."

"We didn't do anything to them." The wife explained "It was already bad when the refugees from Lorek came pouring in. The First Order attacked the Batarian colony there so hundreds of angry Batarians came here and began sprouting anti-human sentiment here. Then this plague comes and human's aren't infected. That was all the evidence that was needed, god knows how many of us they've already killed.

"They should be after the Vorcha." The husband added "They've been making gains since this plague, they're immune to disease but no one thinks they are smart enough to make a disease so the blue Suns needed someone else to blame. They used to run this district and rates were pretty fair, for Omega at least."

"As long as you paid your protection fees." The woman added "Then the plague hit and the whole district has turned into a warzone."

Shepard wanted to know something "What do you know about this plague?" she asked

"It started a few months ago, that's when the first people got sick." The man explained "Nobody took notice at first until it spread. Usually takes about a week to kill you but it spreads fast and with hundreds of Batarian refugees crammed here, it spread like wildfire. Just three days into the outbreak, nearly 200 cases, the plague probably spreads airborne as people still got sick even after they were sealed in apartments."

"I'm here to try and find the Salarian Doctor Mordin Solus." Shepard explained

"Oh yeah, him, he has a clinic at the other side of the district." The man explained.

"I heard he's been taking in refugees." The woman added "Trying to help plague victims as well as offering protection from both the Blue Suns and the Vorcha."

"Sure a military trained doctor with expensive droids helping people for free, grow up." The man scolded "The Vorcha tried to muscle in and he shot them all like it was nothing, he didn't even use his droids. The Blue Suns threatened to burn his clinic if he didn't pay them and if he didn't hand over the humans he was sheltering and he shot them all too. Then he just went back inside like it was nothing."

"He has to have had special training." The woman believed "Special forces or something, no mercenary from the Terminus can fight like that."

"You folks can't stay here forever." Shepard explained "The Blue Suns will find you eventually. Wait here for a bit while I clear the way, and then follow me into Mordin's clinic."

"Alright then." The man replied "And good luck."

...

After leaving the humans alone, Shepard and the team carried on. They found a modified assault rifle which Shepard scanned downloading schematics to make assault rifles do more damage. Then they soon entered the Vorcha territory where they quickly went into a fight and dealt with them, it was clear that they were now in the area that the Vorcha had taken from the Blue Suns. They found some supplies in what seemed to be an old warehouse for the markets. They also found some looters in another apartment before they finally arrived at Mordin's clinic.

In the clinic, they saw that it was well set up for the limited supplies that were available. Several B2 Super battle droids stood stationary to help defend the clinic if they were needed while several Turians sat on chairs having been cured of the plague along with human refugees who fled from the killing squads.

They eventually found Mordin in a laboratory talking with an assistance although Mordin was looking at results on a terminal. "Professor." The assistance called "We're running low on Cipoxidin."

"Use Malanarin. Plenty on board, almost as good, causes cramping in Batarians, supplement with with Buttemerol." A Salarian who they realised must be Mordin Solus spoke very fast just like Aria had said he did.

Mordin began talking quickly to himself trying out different options with medicine and what was suitable and what was not suitable. Sometimes it was hard to make out what he said because of his fast talking.

Shepard walked over to him "Professor Mordin Solus?" she greeted almost in a question.

Mordin turned around and scanned them "Humans but not from around here, don't recognise you. Too well armed to be refugees, no mercenary uniform, quarantine still in effect. Here for something else, Vorcha maybe, here to clean them out? Unlikely Vorcha a symptom, not a cause." Again he spoke so fast that it was hard for Shepard to hear what he was saying clearly. "The plague, investigating possible use as a weapon, no too many guns, not enough data equipment, soldiers not scientists. Hired guns maybe, looking for someone, yes but who, someone important."

Shepard decided to interrupt "Relax Mordin." She said "I'm Commander Jane Alice Shepard, I'm on an important mission to investigate the First Order and I need your help."

"The First Order." Mordin said "Heard of them, friend of mine is hiding from them. He says they created the plague, have the technology to create plague to spread fear and wipe out undesirables as they see. Dangerous people, need to be stopped. But I can't go, must cure plague first. Already have a cure, just need to distribute it at environmental control centre. Vorcha guarding it, need to take them out."

"Don't worry Mordin." Shepard said "I'll get in a take care of the Vorcha"

But as soon as she finished saying at, a loud clang was heard and the fans began to slow down. "That doesn't sound good." Miranda stated

Mordin looked at his Omi Tool "Vorcha have shut down environmental systems, trying to kill everyone, need to get the power back on before everyone suffocates." Mordin stated and then approached Shepard "Here take plague cure, also in good faith, powerful weapon taken from Blue Suns mercenary, may come in handy."

"Thanks Mordin." She said as he examined the weapon which was an M-6 Carnifex Hand cannon, a very powerful heavy pistol. "Also, I found a infected Batarian over by the entrance, he's stable but very sick, he needs help, the way back is mostly clear now."

"Maybe clear now but could return soon." Mordin stated "I'll see what I can do."

"Also you're not the only one I'm looking for here." Shepard explained "I'm also looking for a Zabrak named Bao Dur, is he around here."

"Ah the inventor." Mordin said proudly "Few know his real name, we talked, shared interest in helping and the creativity behind everything. Scared of the First Order so fled here, skilled man but scared his ideas would fall into the wrong hands. As for location, he was here but went with my assistance Daniel to look for other refugees. Warned them not to go, too dangerous but wanted to help trapped Batarians behind Vorcha lines. Dur can handle himself, worried for Daniel though."

"I'll see what I can do to help them." Shepard said and then she and the group left, they had to hurry otherwise all of the air would be used up and everyone would suffocate so they had to get the environment pumps working again as well as distributing the cure into the airflow.

...

Immediately after exiting the clinic, they ran right into a pact of Vorcha who were fighting with some of the battle droids that Mordin used to defend the clinic. The Vorcha were quickly dealt with and the team entered deep into Vorcha territory, this area was even more devastated by the plague than the territory the Blue Suns still held. The area looks like it may have once been an old casino or gambling den as Shepard found several old gambling terminals which she was able to just about hack to gain the credits stored inside.

After exiting the Casino, they entered another room where they saw several dead Batarians on the ground and two living people, a human and a Zabrak. The Zabrak was holding a smoking pistol clearly showing that he had just used it.

"Did you really have to shoot them?" the human asked

"I didn't want to do that but they were unreasable and were about to try and kill us." The Zabrak replied

"They were desperate people." The human protested

"And that makes them dangerous." The Zabrak replied "They believe you were spreading the plague and weren't listening to us. Killing them was unfortunate but necessary to protect our own lives." It was then that he noticed Shepard and the others. "More humans but you're heavily armoured, you're not resistance here or looters, what are you doing here and what do you want?"

"Relax, I'm Commander Shepard." Shepard replied "Mordin asked us to restore power to the airflow and distribute the cure. He also warned us that his assistance Daniel was missing."

"That's me." The human known as Daniel replied "I wanted to try and help people trapped here."

"Which was a mistake considering how hostile the people here are." The Zabrak replied jesting to the dead Batarians.

Shepard looked at the Zabrak "And I'm guessing that you must be Bao Dur."

The Zabrak suddenly pointed his pistol at Shepard "How do you know that, who do you work for and how did you find me."

"Relax Bao." Shepard replied "I've heard that you're fleeing from the First Order well I'm putting together a squad to help investigate the First Order and your name came up as a suggestion."

Bao relaxed slightly and then sighed deeply "The First Order are monsters. I wanted to help the people of the Terminus and for a time, the First Order seemed to be doing that. I watched as colonies here were raided and so I thought that I should try and help so I actually helped the First Order for a time until I realized what they were really doing. They weren't helping us, they were subjugating us. Maybe I will tell you more." Looking closely, Shepard actually noticed that one of Bao's arms was actually made of metal and a well made mechanical arm. "Look if you're taking on the First Order then I will help but you will have to earn my trust before I'll help you with inventions and information. I am still skilled at fixing things so that's where I will help you for now."

"The two of you should head back to Mordin's lab." Shepard suggested "I'll meet you once I've restored the generators and distributed the cure."

"Good idea." Daniel replied and then he and Bao Dur left leaving Shepard and her team to carry on to the generator room.

...

After leaving Daniel and Bao, Shepard and her team carried on through an Industrial area where the Environment Control room was located. The Vorcha had strong control here and attacked them from every direction even with rocket launchers and flamethrowers. It was a hard fight but eventually they made it into the building where they were forced to fight through in order to get to the main control room.

Once in the room, a Vorcha with red markings identifiying him as the leader growled at them "You no come here, we shut down machines, break fans." He screeched "Everyone chokes and dies, the First Order makes us strong, we obey their orders!"

So the First Order was involved "What does the First Order want?" Shepard demanded "Why did they do this?"

The Vorcha screeched in anger "We serve the First Order, they want plague, don't care why!" he screeched "You work for Doctor, turn on machines, put cure in air, we kill you first!"

They quickly attacked Shepard and her team but they stood no chance and were quickly dealt with. Shepard then went over to the controls where there was a slot for the controls and place the cure in so it would be dispersed into the air.

"Well, we just need to turn the fans on." Zaeed stated

"The fan controls are on either side of the room." Jacob said but then the Vorcha began attacking them from both sides coming from the fan rooms.

"Jacob, Zaeed." Shepard called "You two take the left fan, Miranda and I will take the right fan."

"On it Shepard!" Zaeed replied and he quickly pulled out his heavy machine gun and mowed down the Vorcha was they came. Shepard did the same with the Vorcha on her side. The attack was quick as it seemed the Vorcha had already been mostly decimated from trying to prevent them from entering the Environmental Centre and soon, both fans were back on and running and the cure was flowing through the airways.

"The people of the district will be breathing both clean air and the cure." Jacob said

"Let's go back to the clinic and speak with Dr Mordin." Shepard stated and the four of them left the area.

...

After a short walk, they made it back to Mordin's clinic where the cure seemed to have already have an effect. Shepard saw the Batarian she had encountered earlier had been brought in and was breathing much better. Mordin was in his lab checking results on a terminal.

"Environmental Systems engaged, airborne viral levels dropping , patients improving, Vorcha retreating." Mordin said in his usual fast voice before turning round "Well done Shepard and thank you.

Daniel and Bao Dur stood nearby "Good job in getting the cure dispersed." Daniel stated "It's a shame we had to kill those Batarians earlier."

"Nessessary in the end." Mordin replied "Would have killed them myself."

"Professor!" Daniel gasped "How can you say that? You're a doctor, you help people!"

"There are lots of different ways to help people Daniel." Bao replied "You sometimes have to kill dangerous people and these Batarians were dangerous to both us and the rest of the patients here."

"Go check on patients." Mordin said to Daniel "Lots of work to do, this clinic is now yours Daniel. Plague here dealt with, now have new mission, involving the First Order."

Shepard looked at them all "There's is still one thing I don't understand." She said casually "Why would the Vorcha work with the First Order. I can kind of see why the First Order would create this plague since it would create anti-human feelings and push humans to join the First Order for protection. But why use the Vorcha?"

Bao looked at her "The Vorcha are just vermin to everyone." He replied "But they still have their uses. I've heard the First Order uses Vorcha for mining on toxic worlds and building since they breed in mass. A form of cheap labour, this plague may have just been an experiment. We'll need to find out more."

"Which is why I'll be joining you now Shepard." Mordin said "Daniel can run this clinic, should be able to now that the Vorcha are gone."

"I'll come with you too." Bao Dur replied "The First Order is hunting me and I'll be safer with you."

"Welcome aboard the Normandy." Shepard stated shaking their hands one by one.

"We'll both just need to finish here at the clinic." Mordin finished "Meet you back at your ship, won't be long, looking forward to it."

"I also have a few things to collect." Bao Dur replied "I have some projects I was working on that may come in handy for the mission."

"We'll meet you back at the Ship at the docking bay." Shepard replied "The ship's called the Normandy." Then she along with Miranda, Zaeed and Jacob left the clinic to head back to the Normandy and wait for their new crew members.

Chapter End:

Notes: Well I managed to get this chapter done before the end of August and we've completed another recruitment mission and also brought in one of the new companions for this story, Bao Dur, a Zabrak character companion in Knights of the Old Republic II. His story will be explained in future chapters and will be an inventor and droid expert which will bring in a few droids from the Star Wars universe into the story. I also brought more plague victims since I had the refugees from Lorek be placed here before the outbreak of plague which would have caused the plague to spread faster. The next chapter will be mainly a chatting chapter since we will be heading to the Citadel but it will be setting the stage for the next recruitment which will be Kasumi though there will be some changes with her recruitment but I've also begun working more on my own Fantasy story and begun writing out the outline for the plot of the first book and I really want to start trying to write it properly so I will probably start working less on Fanfiction. Also I haven't decided which story I will update next.
