[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]

Ainz doesn't feel threatened by such a creature. Because even though it looked threatening, it was possessing a powerful, yet heavily damaged construct.

And it looked nothing different to a boss monster.

Unless he was a hardcore roleplayer? That doesn't matter much.

"[Life Essence], [Mana Essence]."

Ainz gauged the Fiend's hitpoints and mana, before sighing.

Naturally, he doubted him, so he waited for RedEye to attack him, just so he could test how strong he is.

"Hey, hey, hey! What kind of spells are those?! On second thought, ME should just hit you!" RedEye's frantic yelling turned into something deadly, as the construct he possessed raised it's hands.

Then suddenly, a massive white ball formed between the possessed construct's hands and was then fired towards Ainz.

"Hey! Dodge already for ME!"

And yet, he was stationary, only raising his arms to try blocking it. That spell was unknown, yet definitely new to him.

Once it touched him, the massive white ball as large as him expanded, engulfing everything in a 10 meter radius into a large explosion.

For a moment, Ainz was covered in immense amount of smoke, and RedEye looked immensely frustrated.

"What?! Did ME kill him, already? No, my drama! ME drama!! Where is it!!!" Roared RedEye, full of disbelief, as he stared even more at the dispersing smoke.

Suddenly, a black aura expanded from the smoke, immediately dispersing it as RedEye, with his eye... saw a heavily robed person as tall as the man he had supposedly "killed".

"Is that the Supreme Fiend Hornet? No, he's just dressed like her..." RedEye commented as the black miasma coming out of that person made him feel threatened to the brim. "... And why is ME shaking?! No, no, nononono! That cannot be right! ME cannot fear anything! ME is... invincible!"

Ainz flew towards him, his skeletal visage visible behind his purple robes as he looked at the eye possessing

"Interesting... is this your strongest spell? I still wonder why people always use their strongest spell in the start of any battle. But it worries me not. Try harder, weakling." Ainz spoke, wondering what does a boss monster like this RedEye have to do with trying to possess him.

It was amusing to note that his supposed strongest spell felt like he was hit by a hard stick, only to feel irritated when it broke apart. Except in this moment he looked very interested.

"Now I wonder... what kind of spells would I get after you die with my [Dark Wisdom]?" He asked RedEye curiously as he walked towards the construct.

When he heard glass crack and shatter, he glanced up to the sky and found it shattered for a short moment. Knowing one of his rings activated the moment he equipped them, it doesn't surprise him much.

"And it does seem that we were being watched." He spoke, further scaring RedEye by increasing the level of his [Despair Aura].

Intimidation tactics were the best, but as he was a boss monster, it only bothered him that he wasn't some player who would dare face Ainz Ooal Gown without a thought and even have any knowledge about the guild.

Because killing RedEye is the last step, he doesn't mind upping his intimidation factor even for a bit.

Still, it seemed like the Fiend was becoming defiant, as it began tossing several spells like fireballs, thunder lances, ice spikes, and even other forms of offensive magic that exploded, bounced off, or just broke harmlessly on impact.

"[Maximum Magic: Cryo Laser] , [Maximum Magic: Scorching Laser] ." Ainz spoke nonchalantly, pointing his fingers towards the construct as two powerful elemental lasers were launched from them.

Those two magics were around the 6th Tier, being upgraded versions of the lower tiered spells, Ice Laser and Fire Laser respectively.

"Stop! Stooooopppp!!!!" RedEye yelled frantically, trying to defend himself as the lasers passed through the shoulders of the construct, melting the shoulder of one and freezing the other until it is brittle.

Both of the construct's shoulders fell off, and RedEye, in pure panic, decided to use efforts to get away from Ainz in self-preservation.

At first, he tried to teleport away from Ainz with all his efforts, yet the moment he tried, he was displaced back to his original position.

"No...!!! ME still have one last chance...! ME can do this!" RedEye muttered to himself, as he made the construct stop, glaring straight towards Ainz as he approached.

RedEye slowly pulled out the tentacles and tendrils inside of the construct, knowing that his only possible chance was about to be here.

The only problem was, Ainz knew what he was doing. Trying to take control over the highest of undead is totally worthless, unless the parasite was also of high level, however certain rules have to be followed, too.

One was that he had to be weakened. And that rule was not even considered.

Maybe a few more rules were also in effect?

So, Ainz grabbed ahold of RedEye, the parasite who was possessing the construct, as it immediately tried to latch onto him with it's tendrils.

"Mine! Mine!! MINE--!!!!"

In morbid curiosity, Ainz still held RedEye tightly, while tendrils kept crawling up to his torso. Honestly, Ainz felt the tendrils all around his bones on his torso.

It felt strange, as if something was trying to dig into his soul yet could not ever to do, but only rubbing it mindlessly.

Suddenly, RedEye began to struggle, not once finding a way to take control of him.

"[Maximize Boost Extend Magic: Energy Drain] !"

Then, having his entire essence beginning to be absorbed by the one he was supposed to take control to.

One minute later, RedEye completely vanished, leaving behind a solid red orb on his hand.

Not just that, but all of his mana had been restored, and he felt like he had levelled up past Level 100 by gaining a new racial class. Yet, he actually knew he hadn't levelled up, just that, his stats might have permanently increased.

Inspecting the item, he found out that it was a heavily solidified mass of souls belonging to the Fiend, RedEye, and could not be destroyed by any means. It will also resurrect RedEye in 100 years and would reset his levels back to one.

It also contained all of RedEye's data, which allowed Ainz to know what he really was by reading his "lore".

RedEye was someone from thousands of years ago, dating back from Archfiend Nighcisa's era, before Archfiend Gele's era of nightmarish reign, created by a certain mage known with the family name of "Kestina".

Originally was a kind hearted artifact, turned into a weapon of immense devastation and terror which eventually reached Archfiend Nighcisa's ears, before he turned into a Fiend.

And apparently the one RedEye recently possessed was Toushin, in short a biomechanical War God that was vaguely said to be massively powerful to the point of being stronger than the average Fiend, and the strongest ones are stronger than Elite Fiends, reaching the level of a Supreme Fiend.

This Fiend definitely has a lot of history as Ainz spent an entire hour or two doing so.

'Just how much lore do these Fiends have?! This is like, hundreds of thousands of words long!!' Ainz inwardly stated with some disbelief in his mind.

Whatever was in there felt like a mad Player would make, like Peroroncino or Tabula!

"I doubt this could be destroyed..." Ainz told himself, thinking of a certain high tiered spell that is an intensely powerful instant death magic.

But, on second thought, he'll just have to keep the [Demonic Blood Soul] into his inventory. After all, he'd use [True Death] later on if it is no longer needed.

On the other hand - he had used [Dark Wisdom] on the [Demonic Blood Soul] , gaining a spell that allowed him to possess people by temporarily fusing with them.

But for now, retrieving Kentarou was the first thing he needed to prioritize.

Teleporting to where he was, in a hidden place like behind a few trees, he peeked his head out to see Kentarou training his ass off by rapidly swinging with complete focus.

Luckily, his back was faced on Ainz's location, and before the Overlord should show himself, he needed to wear his disguise again.

Though it was damaged, it looked incredibly convincing. The cape was tattered, the obsidian colored armor looked torn off, and his helmet had been almost ripped apart.

Activating [Perfect Warrior] again, he approached Kentarou, as the teenager halted his training to take a curious glance at Ainz.

Surprised as he was, noticing the damages dealt to him already required serious attention.

"Momon! Are you okay?" Kentarou asked with all the worry he could give the disguised Ainz.

"Isn't it obvious?" He sighed out, patting his badly damaged armor. "That Fiend was strong, but it was a disappointment."

Now this confused Kentarou. How did he even say that it was a disappointment?

Couldn't it be that his armor was not that expensive and the man behind the armor was stronger than Kentarou expected?

With that aside, he tightly held onto his katana and stared right at Ainz's helmet.

"Sir Momon! I need to become stronger, and by that, I meant to say that I still need your help! Maybe someday I could repay you for your kindness, but please, train me!"

Author's Commentary: To put it bluntly, Ainz's Mana, Magic, and Magic defense only increased significantly while his Health and Strength ability increased only a bit.
