Who else can smell the controversies now that Paris knows that Sultry Vixen is a stripper? And also, do those controversies smell like chicken? But, do you think she'll make a good hero? Chapter 37

Puppeteer 3

'This is Nadja Chammack, Ladybug and Chat Noir have save Paris again from the wrath of the Pharaoh. This also saw the debut of a new hero in the form of Sultry Vixen. Yet, she has generated controversies when she revealed herself as a stripper. Many people say that someone like that shouldn't be a hero, while others say that a hero can come from anywhere. In other news, new Miraculous plushies have been released, including the newly released Wendigo Plushie, with it's skull and eyes even glowing in the dark'.

"Hey, check it out, we're a plushie" said William. Scul only scowled at this.

"We are NOT cute" said Scul.

"Jealous?" Asked William.

"I'm not" Scul said indignantly.

"Sure you aren't" said William. His phone then rang and he picked it up.

"Hello?" Said William.

'Hi William'.

"Oh, Hi Marinette", said William. "How are things?".

'Going good so far. How are things on your end?'.

"Going great", answered William. "Did you hear about the new plushies?".

'Yeah, I've seen parents with their kids holding one. Even Nadja's daughter has one'.

"Her daughter?" Wondered William.

'Yeah, Manon, I babysit her from time to time'.

"Why do I get the feeling that many kids want those plushies to protect them from monsters under the bed?" Asked William.

'I'm not surprised if that's the case'.

"Oh, that reminds me", said William. "Next month, my dad is going to London for a business deal. I was wondering if you want to come with?".

'I'd love to. But, I'd need to talk to my parents about that'.

"Fair enough", said William. "Once you get the answer, let me know". He then hung up.

Later on, William was getting a burger when he saw someone walk up to him.

"Oh, hi Aurore", said William. "What brings you here?".

"Did you see the news this morning?" Asked Aurore.

"Uh, yeah" answered William. Aurore then pulled out her phone and it showed a picture of Sultry Vixen with a thumbs up on one side and a thumbs down on the other.

"What's that about?" Asked William.

"The public is divided on Sultry Vixen", answered Aurore. "Some think it's a bad idea to give a stripper a miraculous, others say she's a fine hero and it shouldn't matter what her job is".

"Should it really matter what job she has?", asked William. "It takes incredible skill to be a stripper, not to mention you have to have great muscle control and flexibility to do it. Gah, I swear, society can be hypocritical".

"I think another reason for this is that they don't want another Queen Bee incident" said Aurore. That, made William rethink his thoughts.

"Okay, THAT is a lot more understandable", said William. "But, what does everyone think of Vesperia?".

"According to the viewers", said Aurore. "She is, and I quote, 'a REAL black and yellow hero who is better at saving the city than Queen Bee EVER was'".

"Glad they can at least agree on that" said William.

"Also, when Max told me about the time your dad was Akumatized", said Aurore. "He said that there were heroes that looked like a tiger, a goat and a dog. You know anything about that?".

"I think they were called Ms. Hound, Caprikid and Madam Tigress" answered William.

"How do you know?" Asked Aurore.

"I was captured by him, remember?" Asked William.

"Oh, uh, that makes sense" answered Aurore.

"Hello there, William". William and Aurore looked to see Nadja coming towards them, but a young girl was holding her hands.

"Hello, Nadja" said William.

"Didn't expect to see you out here" said Nadja. William then noticed the kid next to Nadja.

"Who's the kid?" Asked William.

"My name's Manon" said the little girl.

"She's my daughter" added Nadja. William just stared at Manon, then at Nadja.

"I saw your report this morning", said William. "I personally don't think Saultry Vixen is a threat, it shouldn't matter what job she has. Like Ladybug said, she helped them come up with the idea to stop Pharaoh".

"Me too", agreed Manon. "I don't think that just because she has an inappropriate, doesn't mean that she couldn't be a hero".

"See, your daughter gets me" said William.

"Me, eh, I'm, indifferent", said Nadja. "I mean, sure that she's a good hero. But, I'm skeptical. Primarily because of what it could mean for younger fans".

"Younger fans?" Asked William.

"I am fully aware of what, uh, some fans do", answered Nadja. "And, I'm just afraid that-".

"You're afraid that Manon might see something inappropriate?" Asked William.

"You got it in one" said Nadja.

"She's gonna see it sooner or later", said William. "It's not like she deliberately goes on the internet to find it".

"That's true, Mommy" said Manon.

"Well, I gotta go" said William. He then tried to walk away.

"Actually, I was wondering if I could interview you" said Nadja.

"Really?" Asked William.

"Yeah, we still need some info on Jackpot" answered Nadja. William smirked at this.

"Sure, you got an interview room?" Asked William. He followed Nadja and Manon back to the T.V station. Manon waited outside as William and Nadja went inside.

"So, what can you tell us?" Asked Nadja.

"A lot", answered William. "But, fair warning, it touches, a soft spot. So, sorry if I get mad".

"Okay, thanks for the heads up" said Nadja. William then explained everything, Nadja's eyes were glued to William. Little did they know, Manon was listen in on them.

"I also saw some new heroes with Ladybug and Chat Noir" said William.

"New heroes?" Asked Nadja.

"Yeah", answered William. "Three of them, two teens and an adult, two girls and one boy. A goat, a dog and a tiger".

"So, to recap", said Nadja. "Aside from Ladybug and Chat Noir, we have a fox, a bee, a turtle, a monkey, a snake, a dragon, a dog, a goat and a tiger".

"And I've noticed something", said William. "Aside from the fox, the bee and turtle, the heroes have one thing in common".

"What's that?" Asked Nadja.

"They're animals of the Chinese Zodiac" answered William. They heard the sound of glass shattering.

"What was that?" Asked Nadja. Nadja and William then left the room and saw that a window was shattered.

"Where's Manon?" Asked William. This sent Nadja into panic mode and she started running.

"Hey, wait!" Shouted William as he ran after her. They ran to the lobby and saw that Manon had been Akumatized.

"Oh no, not again" said Nadja.

"Again?" Asked William.

"When she's Akumatized, she becomes the Puppeteer" answered William.

"I'll go call Ladybug and Chat Noir" said Nadja as she ran off. William ran into the a closet and Scul came out of his jacket.

"I know the drill", sighed Scul. "No eating children".

"SCUL! DEVOUR!".

Meanwhile, Ladybug and Chat Noir were running across the rooftops and were looking for Puppeteer.

"She couldn't have gone far" said Ladubug.

"If you were a villain called 'Puppeteer', said Chat Noir. "Where would you go?". After a few seconds, it clicked.

"They Toy Store" they said at once. They headed towards the toy store and saw that it was smashed up.

"What happened here?" Asked Ladybug.

"An Akuma came and went to the 'Miraculous' section", said one of the cashiers. "Then, she brought the toys to life".

"Okay, that's new" said Ladybug. The Wendigo then landed in front of them.

"How did you get here?" Asked the Cashier.

"I walked" growled the Wendigo. He then started to sniff the air.

"*growl* I've picked up her scent", said the Wendigo. "She's heading that way". He then pointed to the left.

'That's where Alya lives' Thought Ladybug. The Wendigo tried to walk away, but Ladybug grabbed his hand.

"You are NOT going to eat her" said Ladybug. The Wendigo growled.

"I don't eat young children" he growled. They then ran towards the Cesaire residence.

"This the place?" Asked The Wendigo.

"Yep, I took two of the kids here after they were de-akumatized" said Chat Noir. They then heard the sound of screaming coming from the Cesaire's apartment.

"That can't be good?" Said Ladybug. The Wendigo then threw the doors off and they ran up the stairs until they got to the apartment.

"This one" said Ladybug.

"I have an idea", said The Wendigo. "But, I need you to use your lucky charm".

A few minutes later, Ladybug, holding a fairy wand, and Chat Noir kicked the door down, only to have 'what the fuck is going on here?' Look and saw that Puppeteer was standing there as human-sized toys surrounded Alya, with a Ladybug toy spanking her.

"What am I looking at?" Asked Chat Noir.

"Oh, you're here", said Puppeteer. "You're just in time to see me punish this naughty girl".

"Naughty girl?" Asked Ladybug.

"Yeah", answered Puppeteer. "She said bad things about Marinette". She didn't get continue as the Wendigo grabbed her and wrapped his hand around Puppeteer's stomach. Black markings then appeared on Puppeteer's body and her eyes fully turned red. Red light then came from the area where his hand was and, much to the shock of Ladybug and Chat Noir, pulled Manon out of Puppeteer. The Wendigo then placed Manon on the floor as Puppeteer then turned into an akuma butterfly.

"No more evil doing for you, little Akuma", said Ladybug before spinning her yo-yo. "Time to de-evilise". She then swung her yo-yo and it caught the Akuma.

"Gotcha", said Ladybug before opening the Yo-yo and releasing the now purified Akuma. "Bye-bye, little butterfly".

She then threw the wand in the air. "Miraculous! Ladybug!". Swarms of Ladybugs then fixed all the damages. The Wendigo then picked Manon.

"I'll take her back to her mom" said The Wendigo. He then jumped out of a window and ran across the city roof tops. Manon then woke up and saw that The Wendigo was carrying her. The Wendigo then saw Nadja and ran towards her.

"Manon!" Said Nadja with relief.

"Mommy" said Manon as she got out of The Wendigo's arms and into her moms.

"Thank you, Wendigo" said Nadja.

"Uh, Mr. Wendigo", said Manon. "Were. Were you gonna eat me?". The Wendigo walked towards her.

"No~", growled The Wendigo. "You are still young, you have much more growing to do. You're also a good kid and I promised myself that I wouldn't eat children". He then placed his boney fingers across Manon's face.

"But, why did you by a plushie that looked like me?", asked The Wendigo. "Why?".

"Because you look cool", answered Manon. "And, I was hoping that it would keep the monsters away".

"Monsters are everywhere", said The Wendigo. "But, they don't look like the ones you think that under the bed. I will make sure that those monsters will NEVER hurt anyone". He then turned into a shadow and ran off.

That night, Manon was getting into bed, when she grabbed her Wendigo plushie.

'I will make sure those monsters NEVER hurt anyone'. Manon then pulled her blanket over her and went to sleep, hugging plushies of The Wendigo, Ladybug and Chat Noir.
