A/N: WildMath55-Golgotha Revolution Tyrant, huh... That's more than I expected. The only thing that I think could possibly surpass that is "Progenitor Ultima", which is the combination of Golgotha, Tyrant, and Uroboros viruses that are stabilized using NESTS bio-technology. That's how big of a reaction it gave me. Once again, good game, Dev.
I now feel like I'm playing either bio-organic chess or Super Build Your Monster. Gotta keep playing a good game!
Devlin walked over to his friends, still a bit sore from being stabbed, but healed nonetheless. He looked at Alfonso's body, analyzing it for a quick second before digging into his pocket and throwing his homemade incendiary grenade onto the corpse, catching it on fire. Nat and Cor didn't hesitate to follow his lead.
"Please tell me you two are ready to get out of here," Devlin asked.
"Hell yeah, I am," Nat answered.
"Alfonso's dead, meaning we don't need to worry about him abusing the R-Virus. I'd say I'm good to go," Corey said as Nat helped him to his feet.
"I certainly don't need anything in this dump," Nat said.
IN THAT CASE, Red Queen began over the speakers. I SUGGEST YOU EVACUATE THE PREMISES. YOU HAVE TEN MINUTES TO COMPLY.
"What," Cor went.
"Beg pardon," Devlin said.
"Seriously?! Couldn't you have waited until we were riding the train out of here," Nat yelled.
UNFORTUNATELY, NO. THE RATE OF INFECTION HAS RISEN TO SUCH A STATE THAT EVEN WITHOUT YOUR REQUEST, I WOULD HAVE ACTIVATED THE SELF-DESTRUCT SEQUENCE. IF ANYONE FROM THE OUTSIDE WERE TO ENTER, THEY WOULD BE INFECTED IMMEDIATELY BY THE AIRBORNE PATHEGON. HAD THEY LEFT, THE CHANCES OF THEM INFECTING RACOON CITY WOULD BE ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH. YOU THREE ARE LIVING CURES, YOUR BODIES DESTROYING THE T-VIRUS EASILY. THE THREE OF YOU LEAVING SHOULD POSE NO THREAT OF INFECTION.
HOWEVER, I SUGGEST YOU STILL LEAVE THE PREMISES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. EVEN WITH YOUR REGENERATIVE BODIES, I HIGHLY DOUBT ANY OF YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO SURVIVE COMPLETE INCINERATION.
"She's right. I'd rather not be the guinea pig for that experiment anyway," Devlin said.
"Then we should probably start running. Can you move, babe," Nat asked.
"Of course, I can," Corey said as he got onto his own two feet. "Now let's run already!" The three then ran off, leaving behind Alfonso's burning corpse.
However, as soon as the doors closed behind them, Alfonso's body pulsed. His arm started to wriggle as if something was crawling around beneath his burning skin. Then, something burst out of his arm and shot toward... Jumbo's corpse.
The snake-like mutation latched onto Jumbo's corpse. The infection then began to spread over the elephant's corpse, the sound of bones crunching and meat tearing being heard.
Then, a Cerberus walked in, sniffing the air for the scientists, only to snarl when its leg was grabbed. Then, it was dragged into the abomination being formed.
The three then reached a transit elevator holding the emergency subway train, the three running in and activating the elevator.
"Hm? OOOH, BABY, BABY, THAT'S WHAT I LIKE!"
"The hell's got you so worked up, Dev," Nat asked before looking. "Why the hell is there a damned minigun in the train?"
"WHO CARES?! IT'S A FREAKIN' MINIGUN! DIBS!"
"Well, you do have the least powerful gear among us," Corey shrugged.
"But is there even a point to having that," Nat asked. "The lion's dead, the tyrant's missing its head, the elephant is a massive lump of meat, and Alfonso is burning in hell where he belongs."
"I'm still keeping it!"
"Just let him have it, Nat," Corey said as he placed his hand on his girlfriend's shoulder.
Natalie sighed. "I feel like I'm spoiling my little brother."
Devlin gave a goofy laugh as he held the minigun before they all heard a bang.
Devlin route:
"What was that," Nat asked.
"I could go out there and find out. Later."
"Dev, wait-" Nat went, only for Devlin to already be out of the train. "Idiot."
"If he needs us, we can just go out and help him," Corey said as he was looking over the controls, checking to see if everything was in order.
"Yeah. I guess." Nat then groaned before she sat down.
"Something wrong?"
"Just tired, I guess. Mind if I get some shut-eye?"
Corey smiled. "Not at all, babe."
"Thanks," Natalie yawned before closing her eyes.
While the couple kept to themselves, Devlin walked around the descending platform, before he heard a bang behind him. He looked to see a hideous deformed monstrosity. "WHOA! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"
"DRACUL!"
"What the-? FON?! Goddamn, what does it take to kill you?"
The mutation lunged at Devlin, who rolled out of the way. "WhaT HaVe yoU dONe tO Me?!"
"Hey, nothing happening to you is my fault! But I'll fix ya anyway," Devlin said as he readied his minigun. "HAVE SOME IRON SUPPLEMENTS!"
Corey was still adjusting the controls when he heard the gunfire. He looked out the window in time to see Devlin fighting the mutated Alfonso. "WHAT THE FUCK," Corey yelled, waking up Nat.
"Corey, what are you ye- WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!"
"DrAcuL," the monster roared.
"That voice. Is that Alsonfo?!"
"How is that fuck still alive," Nat asked.
"No idea, but we're gonna fix that," Corey said as he tried to leave the train, only for the doors to remain closed. "What the-?"
APOLOGIES, DR. SMITH, BUT IT IS BEST TO ALLOW DR. DRACUL TO HANDLE THE SITUATION.
"Are you kidding me?!"
DO NOT WORRY. THE SITUATION IS NOT AS DIRE AS IT SEEMS.
A screech was heard.
Corey and Natalie looked out to see Alfonso bursting, writhing in agony before a massive ball of flesh began to swell before it popped, Alfonso's body unmoving on the ground.
AS PREDICTED.
"That was... disappointingly easy. Or miniguns just rock. Mm," Devlin shrugged.
The train door then opened. "DEVLIN!"
"Hm? Oh, Cor. What's up?"
"In the train! NOW!"
"Alright, alright. Sheesh," Devlin said as he walked in, leaving behind the corpse.
Devlin gave a goofy laugh as he held the minigun before they all heard a bang.
Corey route:
"What was that," Nat asked.
"I could go out there and find out. Later."
Devlin was stopped when Corey grabbed his shoulder. "Nuh-uh. It feels like all you do is get into trouble when you're on your own."
"What makes you say that?"
"You were attacked by Alfonso in the Red Queen's mainframe," Corey said with a raised eyebrow.
"Your point? OW," Devlin went after Corey smacked the back of his head.
"Just stay here with Nat. I'll deal with whatever's causing that banging," Corey said as he left and closed the door behind him.
"But I'm the one with the minigun," Devlin complained.
"Dev?" He shuttered when he sensed Nat raise her fist.
"I'll be good."
"There's a lad."
"Aren't redheads usually of Scottish descent? You sure you should be using Irish slang?"
"How can you say racist crap like that so easily?"
"Desensitization."
"Right. . . Besides, Scottish people say lad, too."
"They say, laddie, me lass."
Nat snickered. "You idiot little brother." Nat groaned before sitting down.
"You good?"
"Just tired."
"Maybe it's the strain of the armor."
"Huh?"
"Nat, you're the first person to EVER fully wear the entire set. It's totally untested. Honestly, the only reason I'm letting you keep it is because of the R-Virus in you. The virus gives us all a sort of healing factor. Without it, I'm pretty sure even you would have been torn to shreds before you so much as wore the boots."
"Oh, THAT'S good to know," Natalie deadpanned. She then yawned.
"Just get some shut-eye, Athena. Cor and I will handle the rest."
"Yeah. Sure. . . Did you just call me the Greek Goddess of War?"
"That a problem?"
"Yes," Nat says as she crosses her legs. "Everyone knows I'm a Hera. I'm the Queen of the Gods, bitch."
"Please! Everyone knows Athena is cooler than Hera!"
"Touché."
Corey walked around the platform before hearing a crash. He looked to see a deformed monstrosity on the train car. "Dayum. And I thought Nat's victims were ugly after she finished the matches."
"SMITH!"
Corey's eye twitched. "Alfonso," he groaned.
"WHerE iS He?! WheRE Is DrAcUL?!"
"Like I'm gonna tell you."
"LOok AT whAT He'S donE tO Me!"
"Oh, word? Damn. You owe him a hundred bucks. That's the best you've ever looked in your entire life. Maybe you'll actually get a decent girl fit for you. Here, how about I give you a ride?" Corey then aimed his railgun. "STRAIGHT TO HELL!"
"i'Ll kIlL yOu!"
Alfonso lunged at Corey, who jumped out of the way. He then immediately started blasting at Alfonso, bursting the mutated eyes on the abomination. "THAT ALL YA GOT?! COME ON! GIVE ME A CHALLENGE, ASSHOLE!"
Alfonso tried to swipe at Corey, but he dodged each of the monster's attacks.
"IS THAT IT?! MAN, YOU SUCK! YA AIN'T SHIT! YOU WERE NEVER SHIT! AND YET YOU WONDER WHY YOU LOST TO DEV!"
"FucK yOu!"
"NAH, MAN! FUCK YOU!" Corey blasted Alfonso, taking out enough of his mutation to stun him. As the monster stood in place, Corey began to charge his railgun.
"What the hell is going on out- WHAT THE FUCK," Natalie went.
"What? What's... ew," Devlin went as he looked out the window.
"DEVLIN, YOU BETTER GET OUT THERE AND HELP HIM!"
"Help who?"
"THE FUCK?!"
"Nat, are we watching the same fight, 'cause Cor's kinda dominating."
Natalie looked to see that Corey was about to end the fight. She then smirked. "That's my man."
Alfonso finally regained control as he roared and lunged at Corey. "SMITH!"
"Nah, man. To you, I'm fucking Zeus himself."
Corey then blasted his railgun, the beam piercing through Alfonso. When he fell to the ground, more bulbs of flesh grew before bursting, Alfonso letting out a death hiss.
"This time, STAY dead!"
"Well, that was badass to watch." Corey looked to see Devlin at the door. "So, you getting back inside, or are you gonna stay out here and piss on Alfonso's corpse?"
"Don't tempt me, Dev," Corey said as he walked to the train, leaving the corpse of his enemy behind.
Natalie route:
Devlin gave a goofy laugh as he held the minigun before they all heard a bang.
"What was that," Nat asked.
"I could go out there and find out. Later."
Devlin was stopped when Natalie grabbed his shoulder. "Uh-uh. You stay and I'll check it out."
"But I'm the one with the minigun," Devlin complained.
"And I'm the one with the battlesuit from the future."
"I made those gauntlets a year ago," Devlin said with a raised eyebrow. "OW," he went after Nat flicked his head, which still felt like a punch.
"Don't sass your big sister."
"Nat, just let me deal with-" Corey began before Nat looked at him. "We'll be here."
"Aaaand?"
"We'll behave."
"Good boy," Nat said before closing the door behind her.
"Sheesh. Cor, you need to help her mellow out. Think giving her a kid will help?"
"Fuck. No. You think Nat's scary now? You wanna deal with a Mama Bear Boxer?"
"Point taken."
Nat walked out onto the descending platform before hearing a crash. She looked behind her to see the mutated Alfonso.
"DRACUL!"
"Mm. Dr. Alfonso. You're the asshat who keeps trying to dick-ride my little brother's success."
"He woUlDn'T bE AblE tO mAke iT WithOuT ME!"
"Kinda doubt that."
"YouR WearIng THe PROof!"
"Yeah, he admits that he didn't make the entire suit. Still, I doubt anyone but he is crazy enough to make this. Let me show you how Dev is better than you," Nat said as she took her boxing stance.
Alfonso roared as he lunged at Nat, who easily dodged him. She then threw a punch, even though she was nowhere near the mutated abomination. However, she was still able to send a shockwave that did just as much damage as a shotgun would, with many puss sacs exploding.
The fight was beyond one-sided, with Nat dodging all of Alfonso's attacks before countering. She then finished him off with one big punch that made Alfonso swell up before he exploded, his corpse not even twitching.
"Yeesh. Cool to watch, but I think that was boring for you." Nat looked to see Devlin waiting at the door with Corey.
"Did you even break a sweat, babe," Corey asked.
"Please. I had better fights when I was a rookie boxer," Nat said as she walked over to the train, only to stumble with a groan.
"NAT," Corey went as he ran over to his girlfriend. "What's wrong," he asked as he helped her to her feet.
"No idea. Just feel... REALLY tired."
"It's probably the suit," Devlin said, getting the couple's attention. "Nat, I'm gonna be honest with you, if it weren't for the R-Virus and the healing factor it gives us... you'd be dead a long time ago. Not even I know how powerful you'll be, but I do know you're gonna feel exhausted until your body absolutely synchs with that."
"Oh, great. Oh, well. Not as bad as period cramps."
"I thought crappy jokes were my schtick."
"Learn to share, Dev," Nat said as she and Corey entered the train, leaving Alfonso's corpse behind.
The train was speeding down the railway, and the three scientists sitting down, catching their breaths.
"Something tells me the R-Virus is the only reason we survived most of that crap," Corey said.
"Right? The number of times we were slashed, bitten, stabbed, and smacked by B.O.W.s. No human would be able to survive so much as a fourth of that crap. And if by some miracle of God they did, the T-Virus would kill them anyway," Devlin said.
"I'm just worried about what we'll deal with outside," Natalie said. "The company ABSOLUTELY knows we made it out. We'll be fugitives, no doubt. It's bad enough we have plenty of inside secrets in here," she said as she tapped at her head. "But we're carrying what could be the key to immortality in our blood. We'll probably be hunted for the rest of our lives."
"Meh. I'm sure we can handle whatever they throw at us. We have Cor's railgun, Nat's armor, and I have a freakin' minigun now! We could fight a small country and win."
"Why the fuck are you so confident, bro," Corey asked.
"Because we just fought the equivalent of a country's military in the facility. I can't fight for shit. You and Nat may be fighters, but I'm just a lunatic. And yet, we won."
"I mean, he has a point," Nat shrugged.
"Still, you feel WAY too confident, Dev. You hiding somethin' again?"
"Cor, I already told you, we're scientists. Of course, I'm hiding something. I'm sure you're hiding something from me, too. Nat could tell us here and now that she's pregnant and I'd have the right to say told ya so."
"Then it's a good thing I'm not pregnant," Nat said with a roll of her eyes.
"You and Cor can fix that once we find a place to lay low for a while."
"Dev," Corey went.
A crash was heard, the train shaking.
A/N: There's a reason this chapter is so damn short.
