Penny had hoped that the dinner would kickstart hangouts between her nerdy friends and Rory. But it would seem that both parties were way to shy in that department unless they were instigated by Penny. Especially Rory. So when she bumped into the guys as they were leaving for the comic book store, she was quick to take the chance. "Why don't you guys invite Rory? Maybe she'd like to buy some comics?", honestly, she wasn't so sure if her friend was interested in geeky comics and superheroes or whatever the hell it was that the guys liked so much but it couldn't hurt to ask.

"Yeah, Penny, I don't think you understand", Sheldon started, "We're going to the comic book store", he emphasised (very NOT subtly). Leonard sighed tiredly and interjected before Sheldon could offend the blonde any further, "What Sheldon means is that, are you sure Rory likes comics? I mean, she just doesn't seem the type."

"I don't know but there's no harm in asking", the blonde prompted again. Howard quickly jumped on the chance to hang out with the cute red-head. Penny almost regretted her decision. But as disgusting as Howard was, Rory had no friends aside from Penny. And the blonde knew that the younger girl was getting lonely especially since her current work was mostly from home.

"I suppose there is no harm in asking", Sheldon reluctantly admitted.

Penny was pleasantly surprised that Sheldon was the first one to agree (that sleazy pervert Howard did not count). "Thank you, Sheldon", Penny gazed at Leonard and Raj reproachfully. Leonard was pretty fond of the younger foreigner and liked her sweet company. And, since Raj was already 2 beers in, it would seem that they were going to invite Rory.

"Alright, let's go", the experimental physicist said firmly with a small, awkward smile. The party shuffled down the stairs, a smug Penny in tow. Soon they were huddled outside of Rory's door.

"Guys, will you knock?", Penny asked in exasperation after they simply kept staring at the store.

Leonard went to knock, hand raised before he stopped short and turned around with a pinched look on his face. "Wh-what if she says no?"

Penny highly doubted that the sweet girl would reject their advances. She wouldn't say no even if she didn't like comics or superheroes. "No, she won't", the woman said surely, "Have you met her?! Besides, even she does say no, it's not like it's the end of the world."

"Yeah-yeah, you're right. There's no need to worry", the brunette tried to convince himself as he rolled his shoulders. Raj patted his back as if hyping him up.

Penny shook her head in amusement, laughing her ass off internally. Gosh, they were such geeks. How was she friends with them? Finally, after a lifetime of waiting Leonard knocked timidly.

After a few moments they heard a soft rustling and the barely audible pitter patter of feet on the other side of the door. The door opened slowly as Rory's small, heart-shaped peeked from behind it.

As her bright emerald eyes landed on her friends, her porcelain face brightened up and her pink lips perked up in a smile. "Oh, hi guys!", she said perkily and fully opened the door. The guys (except Sheldon) found their jaws dropping. Even Penny thought that the girl looked out-worldly in white.

Rory was wearing an off-white, cropped, short sleeved sweater with a clinched waist. Pearl white, wide leg, pleated pants adorned her surprisingly long legs. A thin chiffon top which was tied losing at the neck and had long, bellowing sleeves completed the look. Her ears were decorated with rose earrings and her small feet were bare. The girl's blood red hair were pulled up in a messy bun.

"Did you need something?", she tilted her head in a bird-like enquiry.

Penny subtly pushed Leonard's shoulder, urging him to ask her. Leonard stumbled slightly, stuttering, "Well, I-I no, we were wondering if y-you'd like to come to the comic book store with us?"

Rory suddenly smiled widely, "Oh, you're going to the comic book store?! I used to love visiting the store in Paris!", she gushed happily. The first time she had picked up a comic was in a form of rebellion and spite. Her relatives had deemed her unworthy of enjoying privileges such as cartoons or movies or comic books. But soon she had completely fallen in love.

"Wait, you like comics?", Howard asked in disbelief. Son of a bitch! This was the first time he had met a beautiful girl who actually liked comics.

The red-head nodded her enthusiastically. She was about to open her mouth when she was interrupted by a soft meow by her legs. She cooed and gently picked up Oreo, who seemed to have woken up from his nap.

The brunette physicist took a step back, not wanting to trigger his asthma. He slipped his hand in his jacket, thumbing his inhaler just in case. Rory picked up on his slight distress, suddenly remembering that Leonard had asthma. "Don't worry! He's hypoallergenic", she rushed to assure him.

Leonard breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Penny who was getting impatient butted in, "So, sweetie do wanna come with us?"

"I would love too!"

"Great!", the blonde beamed.

"By the way, we didn't disturb you, did we?", Raj spoke abruptly. The younger girl grinned at the mocha skinned man, finding his worry incredibly sweet.

"Awww Raj, don't worry, you didn't", she waved it off. "I was just finishing up on some demos."

"Demos?", Sheldon questioned. "What sort of demos?"

"Well, Sheldon I have a fashion show in a few months. So I was preparing a few demos for that", the green-eyed woman explained softly.

Sheldon nodded in understanding before his face screwed up again. "Few months? How many months is a few months? Is it, one or three or five? How is one supposed to know?" Everyone exhaled in exasperation.

"4-5 months, Sheldon", Rory smiled.

"Oh boy, you're killing me! Is it four months or five months?"

Leonard rolled his eyes and was about to reprimand his clueless (very annoying) best friends (regretfully) but he was beaten to it by Rory. "Five months, Sheldon, five months. I have a fashion show in five months."

"Thank you", Sheldon punctuated, eyes wide as saucers, a satisfied look marring his face. Howard and Leonard exchanged irked glances, irritation (hiding the slight fondness) clear in their eyes.

"Ok, now that his highness has been satisfied", Penny gave Sheldon a loaded look, "can we actually go?"

"Yeah yeah, let me just go wear my shoes" Rory quickly retreated back inside to hastily pick a pair of white sneakers and to refill Oreo's water dispenser. She was out in a minute, cheeks flushed fuchsia from rushing. "Lets go!"

The group veered down the stairs.

"I love your clothes. They're so cute! Where did you get them?" Penny asked as a conversation started. "Aw thank you", the red-head said bashfully, flustered. "I made them myself."

"Really?!", the blonde gasped, genuinely impressed. The details and neatness in the clothes was insane. She couldn't believe they were homemade. "They're amazing! You've gotta show me more of your work."

Rory turned a darker crimson, even the tips of her ears heating up. "Anytime!", she beamed proudly. "So, do you like comic books too?" Her pretty eyes were wide with curiosity.

Howard started sniggering and Sheldon snorted. Raj was stifling his chuckles in his hands. The fierce blonde gave them a scathing look before turning back to her friend. "No, I don't, actually. I was only tagging along because my nephew's birthday is coming up and I need a gift for him."

"Oh", Rory nodded in understanding. "Do you know what kind of comics he likes? DC, Marvel or maybe manga, you know demon slayer or one piece? Or is he into crossovers?"

Her questions stunned the boys. When she said she liked comic books, they just assumed that she read them randomly, with no knowledge on the established universes but they were pleasantly surprised to find that she was actually pretty knowledgable.

"I did not understand anything that just came out of your mouth", Penny gave Rory a look. Rory giggled softly. "That's alright! But if he likes superheroes I bet he'd love House Of M", she suggested enthusiastically as they exited the building. A shiver racked her thin body as chilly wind hit her.

"You've read House Of M?", Sheldon asked, awe colouring his face.

Rory hummed as she pulled her thin over-shirt closer to body. "It was one of the first comics I read!"

"You know, it's hard to believe you actually like comics", Howard admitted.

"You don't find many girls who're into nerdy stuff", Leonard clarified at seeing the confusion on the green-eyed woman's small face.

"Or at least pretty ones", Howard chimed in. Penny shook her head and controlled the urge to whack her friend (shudder).

"Well, my relatives never allowed me to read comics or watch movies when I was little", Rory admitted, swallowing slightly.

"Wait, you're relatives? What about your parents?", Raj paused and asked, eyebrows puckered in confusion. Rory sunk her teeth in her bottom lip and winced. She was hoping they wouldn't catch up on that little detail.

The blonde could see that Rory was getting uncomfortable and was about to interject when the girl answered, voice sombre and barely audible, "They died when I was a baby."

Horror and melancholy encompassed the group. Even Sheldon felt sorrow well up inside him for his new...acquaintance.

"I'm sorry", Raj whispered, head bowed.

"Its alright. It happened a long time ago", Rory smiled weakly.

"And why would you be sorry in the first place? You had nothing to do with their deaths", Sheldon pointed out practically, head tilted in perplexity.

"Sheldon!", Leonard berated as he glared up at the theoretical physicist. "That's an insensitive thing to say", he hissed at him quietly.

"No-no, its fine", the red-head rushed to assure. Honestly, it was true. Even though thinking about her parents did cause her a twinge of grief, she was pretty much over it. Yeah, she wished deeply that she could've actually gotten a chance to grow up with them and feel their love but despite that she would always cherish and safeguard the memories she had, as sparse as they were.

They plodded along in silence for a while as cold wind blew, biting at their faces, all of them baring rosy cheeks. "Its pretty chilly, tonight", Penny whispered. Her observation was met with silence. (Sheldon was about to open his mouth to share a "fun fact" about the weather when Leonard pinched him to shut the hell up)

"We're here", Howard halted in front of a glass door with a weary, nearly peeling 'open' sign hanging from it. They sombre group shuffled inside, a blast of warmth hitting them, warming them up instantly.

Rory looked up and was startled to see the first thing was that all the customers (all of them male, might she add) were staring at her and Penny with wide, bulging eyes. She shifted awkwardly on her tippy toes and leaned closer to her blonde friend. "Why are they staring at us?" Penny herself was frozen in her place, face screwed up.

"Oh, don't worry. Believe me, they're more scared of you than you are of them", the bespectacled scientist reassured them with a little chuckle.

Penny and Rory shared disbelieving looks. "Hard to believe", the red-head mumbled under her breath just as Penny said, "Unlikely", in a soft, singsong voice.

Ignoring all the creepy stares the two girls made their way to a nearby shelf of comics. "If you can't decide what comic book your nephew will like then maybe you could just buy him a collectible", Rory suggested after a few minutes of browsing. She could see that the poor woman was getting frustrated.

The thing was that the waitress didn't have enough money to buy an expensive collectible and she was a little ashamed to admit it. "Hmm. Maybe. You know what, I'll just buy the one you mentioned earlier. What was it? The house of something something."

"The House Of M. Thats a great choice! I swear if that comic doesn't make you the favourite aunt, I don't what will!", the smaller girl beamed. "Now just to find it. Where...is..uh...Leonard?", she spun around, not finding the man, who was just behind them a minute earlier.

"Oh, he's there", Penny pointed out to where Leonard, Sheldon and Howard were huddled in the far corner of the shop, seemingly arguing about something. She began to make her way over to them when she was stopped by Rory.

"It's fine, he's occupied. The store owner is right there, lets just ask him", the green-eyed female gestured to the where a pale, average looking guy was standing behind the counter, bent over a piece of paper.

"Ok", Penny shrugged.

The duo moved to the counter.

"Excuse me", Rory called out, voice soft so as to not startle the busy man.

Stuart's head snapped up to meet a pair of enchanting green eyes, set in porcelain pale, delicate features. "Hi. Can-can I help you?", he stammered slightly. He noticed the taller blonde behind the tiny red-head. The blonde he just happened to be drawing at that moment.

"Yes, I was wondering where I could find The House Of M?"

"Yeah, thats a customer favourite. It's in the bestseller section, under Marvel", Stuart pointed to the middle row, a few feet away from them.

"Thank you!", Rory beamed shyly. She turned to leave.

"You know what, why don't I get it for you?", the brunette haired man offered with an awkward smile.

"Oh, you don't have to do that", Penny interjected, not wanting to bother the sweet man needlessly.

"Nah, it's no problem", Stuart blushed slightly under the appreciative gazes of two beautiful women as left to grab the comic they wanted.

While he was gone, Rory happened to notice the drawing the counter. Her eyes widened as she noticed that it was Penny. She couldn't help a tiny smile from twisting her lips. It was very tastefully drawn. She immediately tugged on Penny's top. "I think the owner was drawing you", she gestured towards the sketch book with her head with a little giggle.

Penny's interest was instantly caught. She gasped softly as her eyes spotted the aforementioned sketch. It was so pretty. Her hand unconsciously snapped forward to gently pick it up. Thats the when Stuart came back with the comic. When saw the drawing in the waitress' hand, he panicked.

"I-I'm really sorry I drew you without permissi-", he began but was cut off by the latter.

"No-no, its beautiful. I like it", Penny grinned, cheeks slightly pink.

"Oh thank god", Stuart exhaled, panic slowly ebbing away. He couldn't help but feel pride though. The girl like his drawing. He suddenly wanted to giggle like a high school girl but controlled the urge.

"But what if I didn't like it?", Penny asked curiously as she carefully place the sketch book back on the counter.

"An idiot with a sketch and a restraining order probably", he said causing Penny laugh. Rory smiled at the pair. She felt like she was intruding so she looked around and spotted Raj. Grinning, she skipped over to him.

"What are you reading?", she stopped next to him, hands behind her back, leaning in to peer at which comic the boy was holding. Raj startled slightly but relaxed when he noticed it was just Rory.

"Nothing, just looking at some new additions", he closed the random book he was holding and placed it back in its place. "Did Penny find what she was looking for?"

The female hummed sweetly and nodded.

"You know, I'm really sorry about before, with the question about your parents-", the mocha-skinned boy was immediately cut off.

"Raj, you really don't have to apologise. You did nothing wrong. You don't have to say sorry for asking an innocent question", she said firmly. "And if you apologise one more time, I'm going to be mad at you for real", she glared at him fiercely when he went to protest.

Raj couldn't help but laugh internally at the adorable glare. It made Rory's wide doe eyes appear wider and made her cheeks puff out a little. All in all she looked like a mad kitten. "Alright alright", he huffed. "You're so nice and sweet. We really should hang out more often."

The red-head flushed pink but couldn't stop the wide grin that split her lips. "You're really nice too. And I would love to hang out with you!"

"Are you free tomorrow?", Raj asked, sporting his own smile.

Rory deflated and a frown marred her face. "Unfortunately, no. I promised Penny that she could help me pick out the decor for my shop."

"Wait, you're picking out decor?!", Raj questioned excitedly. He loved decorating! It was so soothing. It was another hobby he had picked up from his mother as a child.

"Yup", Rory answered inquisitively. But she was quick to pick up on the latter's excitement. She perked up, "Would you like to help?!", she offered brightly, no longer frowning.

Raj wanted to agree on the spot but he still had manners. "If you don't mind."

"I would love your help! The more the merrier!", Rory grinned. She wanted to coo at how happy the boy looked. If he had tail, it would no doubt be wagging.

The duo spent the next 10 minutes looking through comics and chatting amiably.

That day Rory finally felt like she had made friends with someone other than Penny in the group.

Hi guys! I'm so so sorry for this incredibly late update! I just lost motivation for it. But I'm officially back (sort of- I have my midterms in 2 weeks during which I won't be able to update). Also sorry if this was a bit boring and short. I trying to find all my old notes for this and trying to recall all my ideas.

You also might've noticed that I've finally fixed the pairing! But Sheldon and Rory will not happen for some time (someone suggest a ship name for them!). You have to remember we're still on the second season of the show, a part where no one was sure that Sheldon even had genitals. And for Sheldon to like her, he has to first learn to respect her. Just because he's nice to her, doesn't mean he respects her profession and her life's work. It's not gonna work if they don't respect each other and what they do.

Rory's going to be paired with a few people before she realises she might actually have feeling for Sheldon. And I was wondering if I should maybe have Sheldon date Amy for a short while. I think it'll help him along with his feelings for Rory. Also, I love Amy, she was so sweet once she lost her uptight edge.

Hope you like this chapter!! Please review, follow and favourite if you did!
