Before the time of Eragon Shadelslayer, Doru Areaba stood in it's final pride on Vroengard Island. Vrael, lord of the Riders, grows suspicious as a new evil emerges, results of a traitorous rider's murderous streak. A strange amulet turns up, only making things worse. Vrael fears Vroengard is on the way to it's fall. Only one man can change things. Galbatorix.

It was dark. He was on the run. Murtagh didn't see exactly what happened, but Tornac was caught with the entire NYPD. No one was that good. No one could survive that. And yet, here he was. And by all the gods, above and below, that smile. AU, NYC in present time.

This is for everyone who has ever wondered what could have happened between Arya and Eragon. The story takes place a while after the end of Inheritance in a slightly AU.

Eragon Shadeslayer and Saphira Brightscales have successfully ferried the dragon eggs and the Eldunarí to a new land, aptly named Esterní, 'Good Fortune' in the Ancient Language. Galbatorix has been vanquished for sixteen years now, and all is well in both Esterní and Alagaësia. Now, a new generation of Shur'tugalar must rise to safeguard their beloved land from any future threats.

wrote this story on a dare when my friend said i couldn't take his favorite book series and put a twist into it. so i took his dare and this is the fruit of my labor. its not perfect but i enjoyed writing it and i hope you enjoy reading it. if you want this to be turned into a story i have what i need to get it running so leave a review or a pm. In the castle of Galbatorix, a baby is born. Her mother, no longer useful, is disposed of and she is raised by wet nurses. She watches Murtagh struggle through the life that is not kind to him and has a few of her own experiences. This story follows Murtagh pre-inheritance (slightly) and during inheritance. Set 150 years post-Inheritance, Eragon has reestablished the riders far to the East and struggles with his love for Arya. Meanwhile, a new enemy approaches Alagaesia from south beyond the sea. Will Eragon find a way to return and save those he loves, or must he be doomed to watch from afar? Rated M for later violence, battle scenes, alcohol, and probably a few moderate lemons.
