A little information first. I started to write an alternate universe of Naruto mixed with a little bit of Mad Max and Twisted Metal in 2005. I wrote four stories and finished the last one in 2015. At that point, I stopped writing fan fiction and started concentrating on my own original stories. I deleted the all four stories and every other story that was on an old account. I was applying for a writting job and the stories were not well written. I was told that they were going to go through all of my accounts and I didn't want my FanFiction to be found. the third story is all that is left. I thought I had lost them as they were one a computer that is long gone. Yet, fate had other plans. I found chapter 4 on an old hard drive and was going to edit it to make it read better and give it to a friend at his request. Something else happened. I was going through an old e-mail address and I saw that I sent myself something as an attachment dated 4/23/2012. I want to say I started this in mid 2009. It was my original form of the third story and might I add—very rough but it was the whole thing. I fixed it up and and now publishing it here. Anyway, thanks for the read as I fix the other chapters. I do have access to other things I wrote thanks to that old email address...maybe, just maybe.
And, because I am an old man, in the tradition of those of us who lived through what it was like during the days when copyright law came into the realm of fan creations and all fan sites were at risk:
Disclaimer: I do Not own Naruto. Naruto and the characters, locations, and setting are owned by the respective owners.
Naruto sped through the desolate wastelands, his Ford V8 Interceptor, the "Intercepting Ninja," roaring beneath him. The wind whipped through his wild blonde hair as he pressed the pedal to the metal, racing toward his home village. Days ago, he received a message, a cryptic warning about an imminent attack by the notorious warlord ninjas known as the Akatsuki. With determination burning in his eyes, he refused to let his village fall into the hands of these merciless marauders.
The message had reached Naruto through an old contact in the nearby town of Kuzutari, where rumors of the Akatsuki's destructive plans had spread like wildfire. Naruto, always vigilant and connected to the pulse of the land, had intercepted the information. It was whispered that the Akatsuki's war rig, a fearsome behemoth crafted from a 16-wheeler, went by the name "Tornado of Shadows." The very thought of it sent shivers down Naruto's spine.
As he revved the engine, Naruto's mind raced with thoughts of what lay ahead. The Akatsuki had always been a formidable threat, but now they had unveiled their true power as ruthless warlords. They sought to claim dominion over the land, leaving destruction in their wake. Naruto had witnessed their cruelty firsthand, and he knew the fate that awaited his village if they were not stopped.
The name "Tornado of Shadows" echoed in Naruto's mind, intertwining the fearsome reputation of the Akatsuki with the apocalyptic world he now inhabited. It was an apt name, capturing the essence of their destructive might. Naruto clenched his fists, his resolve hardened. He would face the Akatsuki head-on, his Intercepting Ninja becoming a beacon of hope in this desolate realm.
Naruto's mind drifted back to the days of his youth, when he was an outcast in this post-apocalyptic world of ninjas and machines. The Academy had been his refuge, and he owed his place there to the unwavering support of his beloved teacher, Iruka Sensei. While others cast him aside, Iruka Sensei had always seen Naruto's potential and fought for his right to be part of the ninja community.
As he maneuvered through the barren landscape, memories of his time at the Academy flooded Naruto's thoughts. The ridicule, the isolation, and the longing for acceptance had been constant companions. But Iruka Sensei had been his guiding light, the one who believed in him when no one else did. Naruto owed his very existence as a shinobi to Iruka Sensei's unwavering faith.
However, in this post-apocalyptic Ninja World where cars and machines had become intertwined with the art of ninjutsu, the events surrounding Naruto's theft of the Forbidden Scroll played out differently. Mizuki, a treacherous figure who had once been Naruto's instructor, approached him with cunning words.
"Machines are the future, Naruto," Mizuki whispered, his voice dripping with manipulation. "Hidden within the village lies a secret Forbidden Scroll, containing not only ancient ninja techniques but also the forbidden knowledge of combining ninjutsu with machines. If you possess those abilities, you can earn the respect you've always desired. Take the scroll, Naruto. Unleash its power and become the ultimate ninja in this new age."
With these enticing words, Mizuki planted the seeds of ambition and yearning within Naruto's heart. The promise of respect and recognition, intertwined with the allure of combining ancient techniques with the technology of this new era, proved too tempting for Naruto to resist. And so, driven by the desire to prove himself, Naruto embarked on a fateful path that would forever change the course of his destiny.
Naruto's heart raced as he flipped through the Forbidden Scroll, his eyes widening with wonder and excitement. Iruka's voice pierced through the silence of the forest, startling Naruto. He hastily rolled up the scroll and turned to face his teacher, a mix of guilt and exhilaration written across his face.
"Iruka-sensei!" Naruto stammered, trying to find the right words. "I... I only had time to learn two jutsus from the scroll. The first is the Shadow Clone Jutsu, but the other... it's something incredible. I can infuse my chakra with machines!"
Iruka's eyes widened in surprise, clearly taken aback by Naruto's revelation. "Infuse your chakra with machines? That's extraordinary, Naruto," he said, a mix of awe and concern in his voice. "But stealing the Forbidden Scroll was wrong. You know that, right? The scroll must not fall into the wrong hands."
Naruto's expression faltered as he absorbed Iruka's scolding words. "I know, Iruka-sensei. I'm sorry," he said, his voice tinged with remorse. "But I was told that if I could demonstrate what I learned from the scroll, I could graduate. I just wanted to prove myself, to show everyone that I'm not just some outcast."
Iruka's stern expression softened, a mix of understanding and worry etching his features. "Naruto, I understand your desire to prove yourself, but stealing the scroll was not the way," he said firmly. "The knowledge within that scroll is incredibly powerful, and it's meant to be guarded. Where did you get this information, Naruto? Who told you about the scroll?"
Naruto's eyes flickered with uncertainty as he hesitated for a moment. "It was Mizuki," he confessed, his voice tinged with confusion. "He told me about the scroll and where to find it in the Hokage Tower. He even taught me how to bypass the locks on the safe. And... he mentioned this small open field where we're standing now. I thought it was all part of my graduation test."
Iruka's face contorted in shock, a mixture of disbelief and concern clouding his expression. Naruto instinctively reached out, his voice laced with worry. "Iruka-sensei, are you okay?" he asked, concern etched in his voice. But, Iruka remained silent, his shock reverberating through the air, leaving Naruto grasping for answers.
Mizuki's figure materialized atop a nearby tree, his eyes glinting with malice as he observed the unfolding scene. With a sinister grin, he addressed Naruto, his voice oozing with deceit.
"Naruto, my boy, you've done well in stealing the Forbidden Scroll," Mizuki said, his tone laced with false praise. "But you must understand that such power is wasted on a village that has never accepted you. Hand over the scroll to me, and I can ensure your talents are recognized and rewarded. Together, we can reshape this world in our image."
Naruto's brows furrowed, suspicion tugging at his instincts. He turned to Iruka, seeking guidance and reassurance. "Iruka-sensei, what's he talking about? Can I really trust him?" Naruto asked, his voice wavering with uncertainty.
Iruka's gaze hardened, a fierce determination burning in his eyes as he stepped forward. He raised his voice, addressing both Naruto and Mizuki in a resolute tone. "Naruto, don't listen to his lies! Mizuki is using you, manipulating your desire for acceptance to further his own twisted agenda," Iruka declared, his voice ringing with conviction. "The scroll's power is not something to be taken lightly. It must remain protected within the village, for the safety of all."
Mizuki's expression twisted into a menacing sneer, his voice dripping with venomous intent. "Oh, Iruka, always the naive fool. You think loyalty to the village outweighs the pursuit of true power?" he spat, his tone mocking. "Naruto, open your eyes! This village has never cared for you. Join me, and we can show them what true power means."
Naruto's fists clenched, his heart torn between the words of his trusted teacher and the promises of a man who seemed to offer him a path to acceptance. "Iruka-sensei... Mizuki... I don't know what to believe," Naruto confessed, his voice filled with turmoil.
Iruka stepped forward, his voice softening with sincerity. "Naruto, listen to me. Acceptance doesn't come from power alone. It comes from within, from the bonds you form and the strength of your character," Iruka implored, his gaze locking with Naruto's. "You have the potential to be an incredible shinobi, but stealing the scroll won't prove anything. It's the choices you make, the friendships you forge, that define who you are."
Mizuki's laughter echoed through the forest, a cruel sound that reverberated in the air. "How touching, Iruka. But your words won't save you now," he sneered, preparing to make his move.
The battle for Naruto's allegiance had begun, the clash of ideologies poised to determine the course of their intertwined destinies.
Mizuki's voice dripped with malicious intent as he played mind games with Naruto, probing the wounds of his past. "Why, Naruto? Why were you never accepted? Why does the village despise you?" Mizuki taunted, his words like venomous arrows. "I'll tell you why. Because you are the vessel for the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, a monster lurking inside you."
Naruto staggered, his eyes widening in disbelief and shock. Memories of loneliness and rejection flooded his mind, replaying scenes of disdain and fear from his childhood. Mizuki's blunt revelation struck him like a thunderbolt, shattering the fragile illusion he had constructed.
"Iruka-sensei, is it true? Am I really just a vessel for the Nine-Tails?" Naruto asked, his voice trembling with a mixture of fear and confusion.
Iruka's eyes bore into Naruto's, brimming with unwavering compassion. "Naruto, listen to me. You are more than just a vessel. You are a person, with a spirit that burns brighter than any demon," Iruka affirmed, his words laced with conviction. "You have the power to shape your own destiny, to prove that you are not defined by the beast within you."
As Naruto tried to process the weight of these revelations, Mizuki seized the opportunity to manipulate the situation further. "Iruka, the fool who kept this secret from Naruto all these years, who perpetuated the lies of the village," Mizuki sneered, attempting to cast doubt on Iruka's intentions.
But Iruka stood firm, his voice unwavering. "Naruto, don't let his lies cloud your judgment. I've always seen you as more than just a vessel. You are an orphan, like me, and I understand the pain and loneliness you've endured," Iruka revealed, his voice tinged with empathy.
In the midst of their tense conversation, Mizuki made his move, throwing a giant shuriken toward Naruto. Iruka leaped forward, shielding Naruto from harm, but in doing so, he was struck by the weapon, causing a deep gash across his arm.
Naruto's eyes widened in fear and confusion as he witnessed Iruka's sacrifice. "Why would you save me, Iruka-sensei?" he cried out, his voice laced with panic.
Iruka, wincing in pain, mustered a smile. "Because I see a part of myself in you, Naruto. I understand the pain you carry, and I believe in your potential to rise above it," he explained, his voice filled with warmth and determination.
Lost in a whirlwind of emotions, Naruto's mind raced, torn between the words of Mizuki and the unwavering loyalty of Iruka. Unable to bear the weight of it all, he turned and ran deeper into the forest, seeking solace in the solitude that enveloped him. Mizuki, relentless in his manipulation, continued his relentless pursuit, intent on twisting Naruto's perception to suit his own malevolent desires.
Mizuki's voice dripped with deceit as he continued to manipulate Naruto, his words laced with a calculated venom. "Naruto, you think you're dangerous with that scroll? But even without it, you're a ticking time bomb, a threat to everyone around you," Mizuki taunted, his voice luring Naruto deeper into his web of deception. "The only way to protect your friends is to give me the scroll. Only then can you truly be free."
Naruto's mind raced with conflicting emotions as Mizuki's words took hold. Doubt and fear seeped into his thoughts, clouding his judgment. Overwhelmed, Naruto turned and ran, seeking solace within the depths of the forest, clutching the Forbidden Scroll tightly.
Amongst the thick foliage, Naruto found himself hidden amongst the trees, his heart pounding with uncertainty. Thoughts swirled in his mind, a tumultuous mix of self-doubt and determination. He questioned his place in the world, wondering if he truly belonged, and whether the power within the scroll would bring him the acceptance he craved.
As Naruto remained hidden, his thoughts were interrupted by the sight of Iruka and Mizuki engaged in conversation. Mizuki's words dripped with malicious intent, attempting to convince Iruka of Naruto's inherent danger, even without the scroll.
"You see, Iruka, Naruto is a menace waiting to happen. His very existence threatens the village," Mizuki sneered, his voice laced with malice. "If you truly care about the safety of the village, you'll see that he needs to be dealt with, with or without that scroll."
Iruka, unknowingly inspiring Naruto in his own way, responded with unwavering conviction. "Mizuki, you underestimate Naruto. He may carry a burden, but he has the power to rise above it. His spirit, his determination—they make him stronger than you'll ever understand," Iruka declared, his words igniting a flame of determination within Naruto's heart.
Naruto revealed himself, his voice resonating with newfound resolve. "I've heard enough, Mizuki. I won't let you harm Iruka-sensei. I'll fight to protect him and prove my worth!" Naruto proclaimed, his voice echoing through the forest.
The battle ensued, Naruto relying on the Shadow Clone Jutsu to overwhelm Mizuki. However, Mizuki's keen senses allowed him to discern the real Naruto amidst the sea of clones. With a swift kick, Mizuki sent Naruto hurtling into a small shed, trapping him among the shadow clones.
Inside the shed, Naruto's eyes fell upon a sewing machine, illuminated by a glimmer of hope. Infusing his chakra with the machine, he tapped into the newfound ability he had acquired from the Forbidden Scroll. The sewing machine came to life, stitches of chakra-infused energy swirling around Naruto, empowering him with a unique weapon.
With the sewing machine infused with his chakra, Naruto unleashed a torrent of powerful strikes, catching Mizuki off guard. The fight raged on, the clash of blades and the crackling of chakra filling the air. In a final decisive move, Naruto utilized the sewing machine's chakra-infused needles, piercing through Mizuki's defenses and securing victory.
The shed fell silent, the battle over. Naruto, panting heavily, stared at the defeated Mizuki, a mix of triumph and introspection consuming his thoughts. This encounter had changed him, solidifying his determination to forge his own path, to rise above the label of a vessel and become a true shinobi in this treacherous world.
Naruto's focus momentarily shifted from the forest to the road ahead, where an old, dilapidated house stood on the left side. The sight triggered a flood of memories, taking him back to a mission he embarked upon with Jiraiya in search of Sasuke. It was a dangerous quest that led them to confront a group of rogue ninjas and ronin who served under a notorious crime lord known as Adamaki Bomitsu, but who preferred to be addressed as Lord Kinzoku.
Lord Kinzoku, once a resident of the thriving town of Hōsekigakure, had turned it into a den of corruption and crime. His crimes ranged from illegal arms trade to forced labor and extortion. He had a stranglehold over the town's once-flourishing jewelry industry, exploiting it for personal gain and subjecting its people to misery.
Naruto and Jiraiya had become embroiled in the fight against Lord Kinzoku during their search for Sasuke. Their pursuit led them to uncover the depths of the crime lord's operations, and they realized that the fate of the town and its inhabitants depended on their intervention. Driven by their sense of justice and the desire to protect the innocent, Naruto and Jiraiya took up arms against Lord Kinzoku and his minions.
The fight against Lord Kinzoku's forces was intense and unforgiving. Naruto showcased his ninja skills, combining his powerful physical techniques with his mastery of shadow clones. Jiraiya, a legendary sannin, unleashed devastating jutsu upon their adversaries, his experience and wisdom guiding their every move.
The battle raged on, as Naruto and Jiraiya confronted the crime lord himself. With unwavering determination, they fought through waves of opposition, countering Kinzoku's underhanded tactics with their own unwavering resolve. Eventually, through their combined efforts, Naruto and Jiraiya emerged victorious, bringing an end to Lord Kinzoku's reign of terror.
The events of this fierce encounter directly led to Naruto obtaining the V8 Interceptor, the vehicle that would come to be known as the "Intercepting Ninja." In the aftermath of their victory, Naruto discovered the abandoned hideout of Lord Kinzoku. Amidst the spoils of their triumph, he stumbled upon the sleek and powerful V8 Interceptor, a symbol of his own indomitable spirit and dedication to protecting the innocent.
Naruto bestowed the name "Intercepting Ninja" upon his car, as it embodied his own shinobi spirit—a fusion of agility, speed, and relentless pursuit. The car became an extension of his own fighting style, allowing him to track down and confront those who threatened the peace he fought so hard to uphold. The name was a testament to his dedication as a shinobi and his commitment to intercepting and overcoming any obstacle in his path.
As Naruto returned to the village with Jiraiya, his heart carried a mix of conflicting emotions. While he relished the opportunity to spend time with his friends and relish in the camaraderie of the village, the fact that they had not found Sasuke weighed heavily on him. Naruto couldn't help but feel a sense of defeat, as though his relentless pursuit had fallen short once again.
During his free time, Naruto dedicated himself to modifying the V8 Interceptor, pouring his energy and passion into transforming it into a vehicle that aligned with his fighting style. The modifications included reinforcing the armor, enhancing the engine's performance, and equipping the car with a range of offensive and defensive weaponry.
Naruto attached two sleek and powerful machine guns to the front of the V8 Interceptor, enabling him to unleash a hail of bullets upon his enemies. These machine guns were expertly crafted, custom-made weapons that combined speed, precision, and destructive capability.
In addition to the machine guns, Naruto adorned the Interceptor with ninja-inspired offensive weaponry. He installed retractable kunai launchers on the sides, allowing him to launch sharp blades at his foes. The vehicle also sported extendable spikes that could be activated to ram and impale other vehicles with devastating force.
For defensive measures, Naruto reinforced the Interceptor's body with reinforced plating and added a retractable shield that could provide additional protection during intense battles. He also installed smokescreen dispensers and oil slicks, enabling him to create diversions and hinder pursuing enemies.
After weeks of modifications and improvements, Naruto came to a realization. The machine chakra infusion technique he had learned all those years ago had never been officially named. Reflecting on its unique nature and the synchronization between his chakra and the machine, Naruto decided to call it "Machina Chakra Sync." It captured the essence of combining his own chakra with the machine, forming a powerful synergy that fueled his abilities.
As Naruto reached the gates of his home village, he stepped out of the V8 Interceptor, taking a deep breath. The weather was cool and crisp, with a gentle breeze rustling through the surrounding trees. However, as his gaze fell upon the outer village walls, Naruto couldn't help but notice their dilapidated state.
The walls bore the scars of battles fought and the passage of time, showing signs of wear and neglect. Naruto's heart swelled with a mix of determination and concern. He knew that the village, his home, needed protection and restoration. He vowed to do whatever it took to defend and rebuild the walls, fortifying the village's defenses and ensuring its safety. As he neared the village, he whispered to himself, "They won't know what hit 'em. Believe it!"
Author's note: Every chapter is going to have a little author's note at the bottom as a footnote. this isn't necessarily important information but rather just an archive of my story of how it progressed in the past for the sake of curiosity for those who requested that I reupload this and for myself. most of these I just want to be filled with little notes I left myself.
Anyway, when I originally started the story, Naruto Shippuden was still in the early days of airing in the United States. I originally intended only writing two stories with this sort of theming in mind, yet, for some reason I ended up writing four stories. The biggest problem I had with writing this story was actually naming the Akatsuki War rig. I had come up with several ideas the reason why I went with the "Tornado of Shadows" was because it didn't seem cliche to me as I wasn't really using the Japanese names of locations and abilities because I didn't have access to all of those names and I wasn't really willing to memorize every single one which was a very popular thing to do at the time for some reason. another reason why I thought about wanting to avoid anything clay Shay is because by the time I started writing this story I had found out what the word Akatsuki actually meant. However, because of my want to avoid cliches, it caused me to do something that I'm still particularly fond of much later in the story.
Before I close out, here are a list of the other possible names I toyed with:
Devil's Daybreak
Devil's Dawn
Doom Daybreak
The Broken Sun
Broken Skylight
Dreaded Red
Blood Dawn
