Chapter 1: Origins: Izuku
Here's the sad truth, not all men are created equal. There are those who are born with more power than anyone else. Many years ago, a mutation known as Quirks began to develop, and 80% of the world became a superhuman society. But sadly I was one of the remaining 20% who wasn't as fortunate. But, it pushed me forward to work harder to reach my greatest dream. Being a Hero.
My name is Izuku Midoriya, and this is my story of how I became the greatest Hero of all time.
I was on my way to school before I heard the news of a villain attack downtown. Yeah it's a common problem when people use their quirks for crimes. I came to the station where the commotion was while seeing the villain in the railroads.
"Whoa…That's one huge super villain!" I beamed in amazement. The villain roared as he knocked down scolding of a powerline as it fell off the bridge. Before it collapsed on the people, a buff man with short cyan hair wearing heavy braces ran forward before catching the powerline.
"All right, way to go Death Arms." A civilian beamed.
"The Punching hero! I wish I had a quirk that made me super strong!" Another marveled.
Water came around and blocked the crowd as a man in a fireman-like costume stood in front of everyone. "Everyone Please stay back, this area is far too dangerous."
"Whoa the rescue specialist Backdraft is here? He'll make sure we're okay!" A citizen spoke joyfully to the pro at work.
"He must be desperate to go full monster in the middle of the city." A man near me spoke to his friend. "Know what happened?"
"Just some amiture." He shrugged. "Stole someone's bag and got himself cornered."
"Huh, a quirk like that and he's just some petty thief." The man before remarked as I made my way through the crowd.
"I got held up, the train's out, another villain, I'm not sure when i'm gonna make it into the office." A business man spoke over the phone as I passed him.
Something flew over us, revealing a young man with a costume made of wood. Some girls nearby squealed. "AHHHH! It's Kamui! We're your biggest fans!"
Kamui landed on the edge of the bridge before leaping as the giant villain tried to squash him. "Get away from me or I'll break you toothpick!" The villain bellowed.
I made my way to the edge where I can see the fight in action while I beamed. "Oh man this is gonna be good!" Kamui lashed back with his Quirk from a beam when the Villain tried to strike him again. "Its Kamui Woods! He may be new, but he's making a big name for himself!"
"One look with that dopey grin and I know what you are." A man next to me spoke, getting my attention. "A Fanboy?"
"Uh…sort of." I confessed with a sheepish smile. Kamui charged at the villain as he tried crushing him. But the young pro ran up the arm and lashed his tree arm out. The villain blocked with his wrist and flung him away. Kamui recovered in the air and skid back, facing the villain.
"Assault, robbery, and the illegal use of powers during rush hour traffic." Kamui stated. "You are the incarnation of Evil!" he held his arm out as it grew out many roots.
"There! His special move!" I beamed excitedly.
"Come on tree man, show us something flashy!" The man who teased me called out.
"The Preemptive…Lachor Chain prison!" I called as did Kamui as he lashed out the roots shout out to the villain.
"Canyon Cannon!" A new voice rang out as a giant woman drop kicked the villain off the bridge surprising everyone. Hell even I was taken back.
The woman stood up as her behind was revealed. Immediately a bunch of men came over and started taking pictures. "Money shot. Money shot. Money shot." Yeesh come on guys.
"Piece of cake for the next hottest hero." The large woman spoke as she was wearing a tight skin cream jumpsuit with purple marks highlighted orange. On her head were horns with her wearing a mask. "Hi there everyone. I'm Mount Lady." The blonde greeted with a sultry voice. "And you don't have to work about this bum anymore.~" She winked.
"Money Shot. Money Shot. Money Shot." The guys continued taking pictures of her. The crowd cheered as I riffled through my bag with an unimpressed look. This is what goes on daily. Heroes depend on popularity and staying in the spotlight to make a name for themselves and make money. There's nothing wrong with it, but many get ahead of themselves and let it go to their heads. Mount Lady is one such hero.
The villain was arrested and the situation was over. I stayed behind and took notes from the battle. "Her quirk is Gigantification. Her look and attitude definitely give her a crowd favorite, but it'll be difficult for her to get around the city without damaging anything…that and that flirting will only get her so far." This was a hobby of mine, taking notes of various heroes and their quirks.
"What's that Fanboy?" The man from before asked me. "Taking notes over there? Wanna be a hero too huh?"
I chuckled with a smile. "Yeah, more than anything." After that, I made my way to school with my notes. My phone went off as I took it out and opened it. I perked up and opened a news article from a website I was subscribed to. "Sonia the Hedgehog defeats Eggmom once more, Station Square honors their greatest hero." Yeah I don't just watch for the heroes in japan but america as well.
The image showing a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog girl on a high advanced jet while holding a peace sign with a grin and wink. Sonia, she's known to be the fastest hero in the world. She didn't have a hero name but many people gave a number of nicknames. She's the leader of her team followed by many who assisted her and stopped her nemesis Dr Eggmom, a mad scientist woman who desires to turn the world into her image with robots. She builds all kinds of futuristic machines and robots which shows how smart she is.
Sonia is one of the very few top heroes I admire so much, and hope to be like one day.
I soon arrived at school while sitting at my desk with my classmates. "So…as third year students, its time to start thinking seriously about your future." My teacher explained. "I could pass out some career aptitude tests but…" he grinned while grabbing the papers. "Why bother?" my classmates activated their quirks as he tossed them. "I know you all want to go to the hero track!" Most of my classmates have minor quirks which wouldn't make them top level heroes.
"Yes yes you all have some impressive quirks, but no power usage in school. Get ahold of yourselves." My teacher informed while everyone besides myself were showing off their power.
"Hey Teach, don't lump me in with these bunch of losers." A snarky female voice remarked smuggly. I looked up to a spiky blonde girl leaning back in her seat with her head back. "I'm the real deal, but these guys will be lucky enough to be sidekicks to some busted D-lister." Thats Katsaki Bakugou, resident prodigy. We used to be friends when we were little, but all that changed when she developed her quirk called Explosion. It lets her sweat nitroglycerin from the palms and ignite it to cause explosions of various sizes.
"You think you're better than us Katsaki!?" One of the students yelled as the others shouted and booed at her.
"Just go on, I'll take you all on!" She laughed cockedly.
"Huh, you got some impressive test results." My teacher spoke while reading her intel. "Maybe you will get into UA High."
"She is gonna try for the national school?" A female student asked in surprise.
"That school has a .2 percent acceptance." A male student mentioned. UA High, the biggest and popular academy in Japan that trains the next generation of heroes.
"It's impossible to get into!" Another shouted.
"That's why its worthy of me." My former friend stated as she jumped up on her desk. "I aced all the mock tests, I'm the only one at this school that stands a chance of getting in! I'll end up more popular than All Might himself!" She clenched her fist with a smirk. "And be the richest hero of all time! People all across the world will know who I am! And it all starts with UA High!" If you couldn't tell Katsaki has a massive ego due to being praised for having such a strong quirk for years.
"Oh yeah Midoriya, don't you want to go to US High too?" My teacher asked. All silent fell to the room as all eyes landed on me.
'Aw crap baskets.' I thought with a sweatdrop.
Laughter erupted from them as they mocked me. "Midoriya!? You're kidding right!?"
"There's no way you're getting into the school without a quirk!" Another student hollered. This is the common problem with the world: the quirkless get treated like second class citizens.
A yell from Katsaki alerted me as I yelped and pulled back in time before she slammed her palm on my deck, causing an explosion as I fell back. "Listen up Deku!" She declared. "You're worse than any of these damn rejects you quirkless wannabe!" She smirked while clenching her smoking fist. "You really think they'll let someone like you in when they can have me?" Katsaki had developed a superiority complex over the years thinking she is better than everyone, especially me.
"Y-You got it all wrong Kacchan, i'm not trying to compete against you!" I stuttered while backing up to the wall. "I…I just wanted to be a hero when I was younger. I don't have a quirk, but I can still try."
"You'll never be able to hang with the best of the best! You'll die in the exams!" My former friend shouted while everyone leered down at me like demons while they laughed. "Defendless Izuku! This school is already crappy! You wanna make it worse by trying so hard!?" I looked down with shame and pain. No matter how much I take from this bullying, it hurts. Didn't help that Katsaki turned her back on me as soon as she got her quirk.
The rest of school was slow and neutral. I looked through my phone when class was over about the fight this morning and from Sonia's site. "Man these are all over the news." I smiled. "I should take more notes on them when I get home." I set my phone away and grabbed my hero analysis book, but it was suddenly snagged from Kacchan. "Kacchan?"
"I don't know what you think your doing Deku, but we're not done." She replied with a sneer while waving my notebook.
"Whatcha got his diary?" One of the boys who helped her bully me when I was a boy asked before Kacchan held it up. "Huh? Don't tell me you're taking notes on how to be a hero."
"That's so pathetic!" The other boy laughed.
"He's delusional!" The first boy joined.
I flushed in embarrassment as I stood. "Okay I get it." I turned to my former friend. "Kacchan please give that back." She took it and slammed her hands together on it making a small explosion making me yell. "Why did you do that!?" Sh1e tossed it out the window as I cried in shock, all that work I did went to waste. "Oh come on!"
"Most first string heroes show potential later on. People look at them and know they're destined for greatness." Kacchan explained to me. "When I'm the only student from the garbage school get into UA, they'll start talking to me like that. They'll realize I'm legit, the next big thing. That's not my ego talking, I just know I'm that good."
"Ego…" one of the boys mused.
"Here's a little advice nerd." She set a hand on my shoulder as it sizzled. "Don't even think of applying, or else." She warned with a smile that was less than friendly. This is classic Kacchan, threatening me when I tried to be a hero in any form.
The three passed me while I whimpered. "Thats just sad, I thought you'd had some fight in you." One of the boys mentioned.
"He finally gets it. He knows he'll never be a hero. Better late than now I guess." The second replied.
"You know if you really wanna be a hero that badly, there is a way." Kacchan spoke up. "Just pray you'll be born with a quirk in the next life, and take a swan dive off the roof of a building."
I grit my teeth, she sounded more like a villain than hero. I turned back to her with a glare before she sparked her hands with a smirk. "Something wrong?" She threatened. I forced myself not to cry before I walked to the door and passed her while gripping my backpack. I'm gonna try to find my notebook.
I came to the lower levels and looked around before I found my notebook in a koi pond, being munched on by some koi fish. I took it from them as they scattered as I looked at it with a hard look. "...Dammit Kacchan…" She's done so many hurtful things to me…but for her to tell me to commit succide…that was a new low. If anyone from UA heard her say that she would be blacklisted.
I walked off to go home while reflecting everything from my past. When I was a kid, I always looked up to Sonia and Even the Japan's number one Hero All Might. But the doctor told me it wasn't possible for me to have a quirk, he didn't even sugarcoat it. It was that day I began to lose hope….even my mother never said the words I wanted to hear when my world was crumbling. I mean my mom had lesser telekinesis and my dad breathed fire so I could have got a cool combo power but because I had two joints in my pink toe, it was impossible.
I walked while passing through a tunnel. I don't know how much more I can handle with this…I just wanted a chance to be a hero, to reach my dreams. I sniffed while wiping my eyes. I swear I did something in a past life to piss off the universe.
I was too deep in my thoughts and I didn't notice a light before me. But, the chime jingles snapped me from my thoughts. I looked up before seeing a glowing red orb floating in front of me. "What the?" it bobbed up and down and circled around me before flying off a few feet before bobbing again. "...You want me to follow?" it bobbed faster before flying off. 'This is probably a bad idea but I'm curious about what it wants.'
I followed the orb as it led me out of the tunnel and off the road into the forest. I really hope this isn't some trick of a villain. The sphere lead me to a cliff that was a dead end. It jingled before the ground rumbled. The cliff crackled and opened, revealing a passageway.
"Whoa…" I breathed against my better judgment I entered. The orb guided me inside before passing down a long dark hall while it guided me. We soon came out from the other end and entered a large room. Water gently streamed through small strips while there were murals on the wall. "Is this some kind of shrine?" I turned to the first one before blinking. The mural showed some kind of large serpent creature with Sonia in it in a gold color. "Sonia? But how can that be?" I followed the path and looked at each mural that showed Sonia with different reflections, such as defeating Eggmom, stopping a large space colony from hitting the earth, defeating a genie being and even a large demonic female being while she was in gold armor. "This is too strange."
I came to the last mural before me as my eyes widened. The mural showed Sonia with the figure of a human next to her with seven colored diamonds around them. "What is this?" I breathed.
"We have awaited for you, child." A female voice echoed in my mind.
"GAH!" I yelled in surprise as I had tossed my notebook and fumbled to catch it. I caught it and breathed in relief before looking around. "W-Who said that?"
"Don't be afraid, child. We came to give you a message." Another female voice spoke.
"Um okay." I replied unsure.
"You were brought here for a reason, as the powers of the have chosen a champion." The first female voice mentioned. "A champion of Chaos."
"Chaos?" I blinked. Several colors glowed behind me before I turned. The mural of Sonia and the boy with her with the seven gemstones glowed in red, blue, green, purple, white, yellow and cyan. "What in the world?"
"Take heed, child. Your future will be filled with many dangers. But know you will obtain new friends and allies." The second female voice echoed.
"And your dreams will come true." Both spoke in unison before the glowing faded. I stood there stunned and confused by what the two voices meant by that. I'm to be a champion of Chaos? Isn't Chaos meant for villains?
I left the ruins after that. Whatever I experienced left me questions rather than answers. But, what if this is a good thing? Maybe this could be the path I can take to be a hero. Still, I may not know the answer, but I'm still gonna shoot to the moon, and be just like All Might and Sonia.
While making my way home, I heard what sounded like liquid behind me. I froze and turned around. My eyes widened in horror, seeing green sludge forming before me. "A…A Villian?" My luck must be really hating me right now.
Two yellow eyes and teeth that formed a wicked smile formed. "You'll make an excellent suit for me to hide in, kid." The villain spoke. I tried to run but the villain bounced on me with his slimy body. The tentacles around me shoved into my mouth and nose and I gagged and choked. "Don't worry, i'm just taking over your body. It'll be better for both of us if you don't fight back. This will only hurt for a moment. You'll feel better soon."
'I can't breathe…' I thought as I struggled as I clawed at the slime.
"Grab all you want my body is made of fluid." The villain mused at my struggle. "Thanks for the help. You're a real hero to me. I didn't know he's in the city, I gotta get out of here fast before he tracks me down."
'Im…running out of air…' I breathed mentally as my vision was getting blurry. 'I'm…dying…' Tears streamed my face as everything was fading out. My lungs burned as I can only remember my mother. As I started to black out, I heard muffled voices, then the feeling of powerful gusts of wind. The slime villain holding me exploded off of me. That last thing I saw a familiar hero I idolized. '...All Might?...'
"Hey, wake up!" I felt a hand furiously tapping my cheek. "Hey!" I groaned as I opened my eyes. "Ah Thought we'd lost you there." I looked up…and saw my idol, All Might! I shouted in shock and surprise as I backed up from him. "Well, it looks like you're moving around alright. Sorry about that back there. I didn't mean to get you caught up in my justicing. Usually I pay attention when keeping bystanders safe. But it turns out this city's sewer system is pretty difficult to navigate! Ahahahaha!"
I was so stunned and shocked, I couldn't move or even breathe. "Anyway! You were a big help!" He held up two soda bottles containing the slime villain. "I caught the evildoer!"
'I got saved by Japan's number one hero.' I thought in awe. 'He looks even cooler in person!' I jolted. "Ah, I gotta get an autograph! I know I have a pen here!" I frantically checked my pockets before noticing my hero analyzing notebook. "Please sign my notebook!" I grabbed it and opened to an empty spot inside…only to see it was signed with his initials! "He already did! Man he's good!" I turned to him and bowed. "Thank you so much! This will be a special treasure! I'll keep it safe and in perfect condition!"
All Might gave me a thumbs up. "Welp, I need to get this guy to the police so they can take care of him." He patted the bottle in his pocket. "Stay out of trouble! See you around!"
I blinked. "You're leaving already?"
"Pro heroes are constantly fighting time, as well as enemies." He spoke while he did some stretches. There was so much I wanted to ask him, if my dreams could be reached."Now stand back! I'm taking off!" He jumped and shot into the air. "THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!"
"Wait!" I yelled as I tried to grab on but was too slow. "...And he's gone…Nice going Izuku you blew your chance." I sighed before I opened my notebook to see his autograph. "Well…least I got this…" That was when my phone went off. "Huh?" I took it out and saw hundreds of alerts from subscribers from Sonia's website. I blinked and opened them before reading some of them.
"Have you heard!? Sonia and her team are coming to Japan!" A comment announced.
"Its crazy! Wonder what they're gonna be doing?" Another comment asked.
"Who cares! We get to see the number one hero of America in the flesh!" One added with an excited emoji.
"Holy crap Sonia and her team are coming here!" I yelled in excitement and shock. I quickly looked to the location where they could be coming…and it's in my city! "Talk about conscience." I quickly bolted to the city to catch the action and see the second hero I idolized. My luck is turning around!
As I arrived in the city, I saw a high tech Jet flying before it started to descend. "That's the X-Tornado! One of the greatest planes Millie 'Tails' Prower built!" I beamed as many people were already gathered. It was the signature plane of Team Sonia as they used it many times to battle Eggmom.
The cockpit dome opened before a blue streak shot out and landed on the nose of the jet. Standing before us all was Sonia herself! She looked up with a wide smile and gave a peace sign. "What is up, people of Japan! Sonia the Hedgehog is here!" The crowd cheered in glee at the fastest heroine in the world. "Thank you all for the awesome welcome! Me and my team will be here for a good long while, so we'll be happy to ask any questions and sign autographs!" She jumped down and started to get swarmed by the locals. "Hehe one at a time folks, no need to shove."
'I can't believe my luck, first meeting All Might and now Sonia…' I thought in shock and excitement while I trembled. 'I am so gonna get her autograph!' I made my way through the crowd while she signed for a local.
"Next!" She called before I made my way to her. She turned to me with a grin. "Hey kid, want an autograph too?"
"Yes please!" I beamed brightly. I held my notebook out as she took it and signed it before she handed it back with her signature. "Thank you so much!"
"You got it kiddo." She grinned with a thumbs up and a wink. "Next!"
"Wait!" I spoke as she turned to me with a curious expression.
"What is it?" She asked.
"There's…something I wish to ask." I spoke feeling a bit shy and nervous.
"Come on kid you're holding up! We have boards needed to be signed!" Someone yelled at me.
"Keep your shirt on dude!" Sonia called out. She turned to me. "Ask away."
I gulped while gripping my notebook. The very question I've been dying to know for years. "...is it possible to become a hero even if I don't have a quirk?" I blurted out. Her eyes widened while the crowd around me went silent. "I'm a normal kid born without any powers…Could I ever hope to be someone like you!?"
The silence around me continued onwards. All that mattered was her answer. But, that was when the crowd behind me burst in laughter. "Him a hero without a quirk!?"
"You gotta be kidding me!" Another laughed.
"He must that desperate to ask such a dumb question to a pro hero like her!" One snorted. My face went red since I asked that with so many people around me. I didn't think she would believe I would either….she is a pro after all.
I looked up at her as she spoke. "Well, I wasn't expecting a question like that."
"Uh…Im sorry but I just-" I started before the crowd grabbed me and yanked me away as they swarmed her again. "Whoa Hey!"
"Get lost wannabe! You're just wasted space being quirkless!" A young boy stated while joining the crowd. It's bad when even a kid is dissing you for being quirkless. I frowned, knowing I won't ask Sonia now. I turned and decided to walk home.
(No POV)
On the Tornado, Tails, along with Knuckla and Amy Rose heard the commotion while watching the young teen leave. "Poor kid, I can't believe people would diss him like that." Amy spoke.
"Yeah but that's how bad things have gotten." Knuckla remarked, crossing her muscular arms.
"Still, there's something oddly familiar about him." Tails spoke up with a hum. "Chaos and Tikal mentioned someone that had the heart of a true hero that would be the Champion of Chaos."
"You think it's that kid?" Amy wondered.
"Seems too soon to have found them." Knuckla added. "But, maybe we should keep our eyes on him just in case. I trust Chaos and Tikal's judgment."
"Right." Tails nodded.
(Izuku POV)
While I made my way home, I looked on the site and everyone was talking about me being a fool for asking Sonia my question from earlier. 'I knew I should have waited until she was alone to ask that.' I thought sadly. I guess I was desperate to know, when All Might left I lost that chance, when she came, I got too carried away and didn't want that moment to slip. Guess sometimes I'm a fanboy idiot.
*BOOOM!*
"Huh?" I turned to an explosion near a plaza. "An attack?" I headed for it as there was smoke and fire. People gathered at the scene to see the action. As I got a close look within, my eyes widened in shock. In the fires around it was the slime villain from before. 'He must have fallen out of All Might's pocket when he lept.'
"Why aren't the heroes doing anything?" A bystander asked.
"Looks like they met their match. Plus that villain captured a kid. Things aren't looking good for her." Another answered.
'He caught someone? How long have she's been in there?' I wondered in worry while looking to the villain. I suffocated for a few seconds in his hold and nearly died.
"Wait a minute, wasn't that the villain All Might was chasing earlier?" Someone asked.
"What?! All Might? Now why he'd lost, where is he?" Another person questioned.
"Well can someone call him or something?" A woman asked.
"Seriously, why hasn't he shown up to help the heroes?" The very man wondered.
'He's right? Why isn't he here? He should be-' I thought before I saw the person the slime villain caught, which my eyes widened in horror. 'no…Kacchan!' she was struggling before her face twisted into fear and pleading for help. 'She doesn't deserve this even if she tried my like shit.' Suddenly, my body acted on its own as I bolted through the crowd and to the scene.
"No you idiot!" Death Arms shouted. "Stop, you're gonna get yourself killed!"
"KACCHAN!" I shouted while running faster. 'I can't stop myself…my body won't listen even if I might die.'
"Not you again!" The slime villain shouted as it reared a tentacle back. My mind flashed around my memories of my hero analysis before finding one. I quickly took my backpack off and tossed it. The stuff inside struck its face as one of my things hit the eye. He yelled in pain as his grip on Kacchan's face was lost letting her breath.
"KACCHAN!" I yelled as I tried to pull her free.
"Deku?! Why are you here!?" She grunted out.
"I don't know! My body just moved on its own!" I yelled while trying to claw my old friend out. Flashes of all the reduced and pain I've been through when by in my mind. Even when my dreams were crushed and pulled down, even when people laughed at me, I still held onto the belief of doing what was right. I gave Kacchan a forced smile. "Kacchan, I can't just stand and watch you die!"
She struggled while the slime villain spoke. "Just a bit longer kid!" He turned to me while raising a tentacle up. "And I'm done playing with you!" I heard the other heroes yelling at me to move while the tentacle swung at me.
That moment, everything slowed down. My heart raced. My eyes widened. "Awaken." The same voice from before echoed my mind. At that moment, my vision went white as I saw seven colored diamonds before me. "Awaken, the power…of Chaos!"
Something inside me snapped before a mass rush of energy exploded around me. "RHAAAAAAAAAAAA!" I bellowed as a green aura exploded around me, blowing the slime villain back.
"The hell?!" The villain shouted in shock.
I breathed heavily by the energy surging around me as I looked at my hands, seeing the aura flowing through my hands. 'What is this power?' I snapped up seeing the slime hand lunging at me.
"DIE!" The villain shouted.
Something triggered my mind before I shouted. "CHAOS CONTROL!" Everything pulsed around me. I found myself behind the villain as I blinked. 'Wha…did I…teleport!?'
He snapped to me with a snarl. "Slippery brat!" He swung his tentacle at me again before I ducked.
My hands crackled with this energy I had. As if something told me to do it, I looked back at my enemy. He roared and swung his tentacle at me before I jumped back and swung my hands. "Chaos Spear!" Numerous green orbs formed around me before shooting at the villian. He roared in pain as they tore through him. I saw his grip on Kacchan lessen before I rushed in. I grabbed her as I pulled with all my might. She got free as we fell. She coughed and wheezed while collecting herself.
"DAMN YOU BRAAAAT!" The villain roared as he lunged at us.
I braced myself for the attack but it never came. "I really am Pathetic." I saw All Might in front of us blocking the attack.
"All might." I breathed.
"I wasn't living up to my own ideals!" He grunted while turning to the villain. "Pros are always risking their lives! THAT'S THE TRUE TEST OF A HERO!"
"DAMN YOU ALL MIGHT!" The villain shouted as he was about to throw another attack.
"DETRIOT….SMAAAAASH!" The pro roared and swung his fist, releasing a powerful surge of wind that formed a twister. Everyone braced against the gale force winds. When it ended, all was silence. All Might panted while his fist was steaming. That was when the sky grew dark and started raining.
"It's raining." Someone commented.
"Don't tell me that all that wind just." A woman started.
"Look at the clouds, they're moving." A man mentioned at the clouds above swirling.
"Holy crap, he changed the weather." Death Arms gapped in awe.
All Might wiped his mouth of blood and stood up. "That really just happened? He changed the weather with a single punch like it was nothing!" A man called as the crowd cheered. "All might save the day again! He's amazing!" All Might raised up his fist stumbling a bit but recovered as the crowd cheered when it was fully up.
"Whoa…" I breathed before the aura around me faded. "Ugh." I grunted as I fell on my hands and knees as I heaved. 'I feel like I went through a marathon.' the villain was being taken cared of while All Might was being interviewed.
Kamui Woods and Death Arms approached me and scolded me big time while Kacchan was being praised. "You moron! Do you have a death wish!?" Kamui shouted.
"There was absolutely no reason to put yourself in danger like that!" Death Arms added.
I bowed my head, too weak to even try to defend myself. Even with that power I obtained, they didn't care. "That's enough you two!" We snapped to the new voice.
On top of one of the buildings was the american pro hero with her arms crossed. 'Sonia?' I blinked.
She jumped down and landed before approaching me. "How in the world can you two scold him after what he did?" She puts her hands on her hips. "Especially when none of you did squat to stop the villain."
"He could have been killed!" Death arms retorted. "He was in no position to do what he did, he's still a kid that did a suicide attempt."
"What you believe was suicide, I believed was herosim and courage." She stated while passing them. "Even when he didn't have enough strength to fight and was new to his ordeal, he ran forward to save that girl, even when he knew it was his life on the line." she stopped before me and looked back at the pair with a glare. "How can you be called a hero when you wouldnt even risk your own lives because you couldn't handle a single villain? You two and other pros today here stood back and let this happen. I'm disappointed that a bunch of adults couldn't even do their job when a kid risked it all." The two heroes had downcasted looks as dark clouds hovered over them.
I was stunned. She stood up for me, even when I did something so reckless. She turned back to me. She smiled softly while holding her hand to me. "You okay kid?"
"Uh yeah, just winded." I replied as I took her hand as she helped me stand.
I stumbled by how weak I was as she caught me and supported me on her. "I gotcha." She patted my back. "Come on, lets get you out of here."
Sonia guided me out of the scene before she settled me down on a bench to let me catch my breath. "Thanks." I spoke. "I never felt this tuckered out before."
"I bet." She mused with her arms crossed. "Using the Chaos Force for newbies can take a lot out of you."
"I guess its not easy to con…" I started before I blinked. "Wait…say what?"
Sonia chuckled. "Tell me kiddo, have you experienced something strange recently?"
"Uuuuuh…" I drawled out.
She hummed before she dug behind her back and pulled out a blue Diamond. "Have you seen something like this?"
"Y-yeah I have." I replied. "Thats one of the seven diamonds I saw in my visions…along with the voices."
The American pro hero grinned. "Looks like we found who were looking for after all."
"Huh?" I blinked again.
"You see kid, me and my team came to Japan for a reason, not just a visit." She mused. "But to find the one who was picked to be the Chaos Champion."
"Chaos Champion?" I asked.
"Mhm." She nodded. "Using the incredible power of the Chaos Force. Hand chosen by the goddess herself."
I looked at my hands, remembering the rush of power I felt. "...but, I don't understand."
"I AM HERE!" The number one hero of Japan suddenly appeared before us.
"WAH!" I yelled falling over. "All Might?! Why are you here? How did you get rid of all those reporters?"
He gave his casual laugh. "I stand for Justice! Not soundbites! Because, I am All Mi-" he suddenly bursted into a cloud of smoke. He was replaced with a much shorter man who was practically skin and bones with a sunken face as his hair was now down instead of up as he coughed up blood.
"WAH! What the hell just happened!?" I shouted in shock. "You…can't be All Might! You're a fake! An imposter!"
The man turned to me. "I assure you, I am All Might." He coughed.
"How can that be!?" I gapped.
"You know how some guys suck in and flex at the pools? I'm like that." He replied while wiping his mouth.
"Seems like its more than just sucking in your gut." Sonia commented.
"Ah, you must be Sonia, America's Number One Hero." All Might replied to the hedgehog girl.
"That's me." She mused. "So what's up with this whole skinny form? You're supposed to be buff and smiling a lot."
He sighed. "That smile is what I hide the fear behind." We blinked. "Im trusting you two to not say a word about this for what I'm about to show you." He lifted up his shirt revealing a nasty scar on his stomach making us wince. "Pretty gross isn't it? I got this from a battle 5 years ago. My respiratory system was destroyed and I lost my whole stomach."
"Wait 5 years ago?" I asked. "You mean you got this from battling Toxic Chainsaw?"
"I see you know your history." He chuckled. "But no, this is something that never made the news. Because of this scar and the surgeries, I can only do hero work for 3 hours a day. Rest of the time, this is what I look like."
"Wow I know I get hurt from my bouts with Eggmom but that is something else." Sonia spoke.
"Heh, well its nice to see you know the dangers of your work as a heroine." All Might chuckled at the american mobian hero.
"So why did you come here All Might?" I asked.
"I came here to thank you." He replied, surprising me. "If you never ran in, I would have been a worthless bystander watching from the crowd. So thanks."
"Well it just sort of happened. My legs moved on their own." I replied. "Everything happened so fast….and then that power came out of nowhere and I was able to hold off that villain."
"Yes, and because of what you did, it inspired me to act." All Might replied as I gasped a bit. "There are stories about every hero. How they became great. Most have one thing in common."
Sonia smiled. "To move their bodies without having to think. To risk everything even with the odds against them." Cherry blossoms fell from the trees around me while my heart began to swell with emotions. I remembered everything that came of me through my years.
"And today, that happened to you, young man." All Might added softly. I started to tear up as I held my hands against my chest.
What I heard next, was what I yearned for so many years, that came from both my idols. "Young man, you too can become a hero." I finally broke down and fell on my knees bawling my eyes out. It came clear that day, dreams can become a reality.
