Chapter 3: Start Line

The other students were stunned by the sheer size of the city facility we will be fighting inside. I took deep breaths to calm my nerves and mentally prepare myself. Sonia told me to always remain calm under crisis situations or I'll stutter or slip up and get hurt. I gotta be confident like she always is.

After calming down, I scanned the others I'll be up against before noticing a familiar brunette. 'That's Uraraka, I should say hi.' But as I approached her, a firm hand gripped my shoulder as I turned and saw the serious kid from before. 'Oh great he's here too.'

"She looks like she's focusing on the trials ahead." He stated. "What are you going to do? Distract her and ruin her chances to succeed?"

"No nothing like that." I spoke up quickly. I can feel the others watching us and see me as an easy picking for me to fail and for them to succeed. 'Everyone is ripping me off.' but, i gripped my fists as I was going to prove them wrong.

"Alright lets start!" we heard Mic as we saw him on top of a pillar. "Get moving! There are no countdowns in real battles! Run Run Run! You're wasting time!" Immediately my body snapped to action before I suddenly bolted past the others with my speed. "He gets it!"

I ran around the facility while looking around. 'Okay, I got an early lead on the others, so I should look for a good handful of villains.' I thought before seeing a villain with a 1 on its arms. 'A one pointer.'

"Target Located. Prepare to be terminated." The robot spoke while pointing its turrets at me. My eyes hardened before I used Chaos Control, appearing behind the robot as I grabbed it by the neck and swung it over me and slammed it to the ground. I had also learned some martial arts from Knuckla with my Chaos Force training.

I saw a three and two pointer approaching me fast. I charged my power and swung it. "Chaos Spear!" Two spears shot out and struck them, blowing them up. "Okay 6 points from the start, not bad." I rushed ahead to find more enemies.

I clobbered a few more robots around the area while making my way to the center of the plaza with 18 points in total. Arriving, I saw numerous robots clobbered with others fighting more. I saw Uraraka touching a few robots as they floated upwards. 'Whoa her quirk must be controlling gravity.'

She pushed her fingers together. "Release!" the bots fell and shattered to the ground. "Whew…okay that should be 28 points."

'Already? I'm a little behind.' I thought in surprise.

I saw the serious kid as he clobbered on with thruster legs. "That puts me at 45!"

'Guess his quirk allows him to move fast and kick hard.' I thought. The other students were clobbering the villains left and right, leaving no opening for me to take down any. 'crap I have to find more quickly.' I ran around to find more to destroy. I heard a yell nearby before I turned. I saw a pink girl with black eyes and antennas on her head. She was surrounded by swinging her hands. Slime sprayed out and melted a few of the robots closing in. 'Acid?' but they kept coming. I quickly ran up and jumped while swinging my hand. "Chaos Spear!" more spears shot down and blasted the others, adding 8 more points to my score. I landed and turned to her. "You okay?"

"Yeah thanks for the assistant." She smiled while rubbing her neck. "Thought I could take them on, but they're tougher than I thought."

"Try going for vital points like the heads or joints." I suggested. "That acid quirk of yours can shut them down and make them easier to destroy."

She blinked. "I never thought about that."

I smiled before I saw a one pointer emerge from behind her. "Watch out!" I rushed forward and snagged her in my arms before jumping back before it struck her as I swung my leg, releasing a streak of chaos energy, blowing it up. "Whew, that was close."

"Whoa your reflexes and dodging is incredible." the girl marveled as I landed.

"I had plenty of practice." I chuckled as I set her on her feet. As I did, explosions nearby erupted.

"What's that?" She asked in worry as the ground trembled.

A shadow loomed over us as we turned. Before us was a massive robot that could almost rival a Kaiju.

"Isn't that a bit extreme?" I gapped in shock. The robot swung its fist down as it released a shockwave, blasting buildings and debris, even sending some of the others flying. "Run!" the pink girl and I ran while the others passed us. 'I gotta find more villains to beat and fast!'

"OWW!" I heard Uraraka yell in pain behind me. I quickly looked and saw her leg was pinned under some debris.

Everything slowed down in my mind as I saw the zero villain approaching while she winced. Our encounter replayed. All I could do was turn back and ran forward.

(No POV)

"There are no combat points given when taken on the humongous Villain." All might spoke while Izuku ran faster before bending his knees while power surged. "But there is…opportunity. A chance to shine." He blasted straight up out of the smoke. Uraraka snapped back seeing Izuku hurling at the villain while she gasped in shock. "To show what you're really made of!"

Izuku clenched his fist while energy surged around it. He yelled while rearing back as the energy shredded the sleeve of his tracksuit. He hurled closer while All Might spoke. "So clench your butt cheeks kid!"

"And yell this from the depths of your heart!" He and Izuku yelled in unison.

"SMAAAAAASH!" Izuku yelled slamming his fist into the villain's head. The robot reared back while breaking apart and blowing up in different areas. The other students around witnessed the scene with their eyes popping and jaws dropped.

"That's right, show who you are." All Might grinned. "Imbody what it means to be a hero. Nothing is nobler than self sacrifice."

(Izuku POV)

I breathed while I remembered the same moment when I tried to save Kacchan from the slime villain. My body moved on its own. I was able to defeat the robot with One for All. The robot collapsed before I started falling. 'Crap I have to stop before I die from my fall!' I thought before searing pain shot in my legs and the arm I used to punch the bot. I looked and saw they were in real bad shape. 'Crap this must be the backlash when using One For All at 100%!'

I was getting closer to the ground. 'I gotta think quick or i'm done for! Come on, think!' While thinking, the searing pain was lessening. I looked back as I saw a faint green glow around my arm and legs. 'The chaos force..its healing me.' I looked back as I realized. 'Of course! If I use Chaos Control at the perfect timing, I can ease the impact of the fall!' It may not be much, but its better than dying. I got closer and closer before I yelled. "Chaos Con-"

*SMACK*

Someone smacked me as I was halted from falling. I blinked as I turned to see Uraraka floating on a piece of a robot. She grunted while pushing her fingers together. "R…Release." I fell as she did too, but I landed in the arms of the pink girl.

"I gotcha." The pink girl spoke.

"Thanks." I spoke before Uraraka gagged and vomited. 'Oof must be the drawback to over working her quirk.'

The pinkette set me down as I grunted. "You alright?" she asked me.

"I will be." I replied holding my bad arm. "I think I got some time left to get some more points."

And that's that! TIMES UPPPPPP!" Mic called as a siren went off.

"Craaaaaap." I groaned as I flopped on the ground.

"Did you see that dudes attack? Didn't know he had that kind of strength." Someone nearby spoke about me.

"Me either, looked like some kind of reinforcement type quirk." Another added. "But there was something else."

"If he had such an amazing quirk, why was he so meek earlier?" One wondered.

"Maybe he was trying to trick all of us." One suggested.

"Well jokes on him. There's no way he's passing with the small points he got." Someone clarified.

'They are missing the point.' I thought dryly. 'Even with the time and points I had, I didn't hesitate to save someone in need. That's what a hero is about.'

"Very nice, good work all around." A female spoke up. I looked up and saw a blue haired woman in a nurse outfit and white coat with a syringe cane in hand. "You're heroes in my eyes, every single one of you." She giggled while digging in her pocket. "Here, reward yourself." She handed a young man nearby some gummy bears. "Have some gummies."

"Oh thanks." Said man thanked.

I blinked as I managed to sit upright. 'Wait, that woman…she's Recovery Girl from UA High, the best healer on campus.'

She came up to me and saw my condition. "Oh dear me sweetie. You look in bad condition. Did this happen by your own quirk?"

"More or less." I admitted. Even with chaos healing, it still hurts. She kneeled before cupping my chin and planted a kiss on my forehead. When she pulled back the glow on my legs and arm grew brighter as they healed rapidly. I blinked in surprise as the glow faded as I flexed the hand I hurt. "Whoa that feels so much better."

"It better." She giggled. "Is anyone else injured?" UA never ceases to amaze me.

A week has passed after the exams came to an end. I waited for the arrival of my results, but I can't help but feel nervous about my results. I mean I only got 26 points in the practical. Hopefully they'll be enough to let me pass.

I stared at my fish for a bit, lost in thought. "Uh Izuku." I snapped from my daze as I looked up to my mother. "You okay? You been staring at your fish for a while."

"Sorry mom, I zoned out there." I assured her.

My chao next to me whom I named Lola, who was a girl, turned to me with a worried chirp. "Chao?"

"I'm okay Lola, just anxious." I replied.

After dinner, mom cleaned the dishes while I sat on the couch exercising my hand. Lola sat on my lap snuggling me to ease my stress I felt for the last week. She is better than any cat or dog that's for sure. I haven't gotten into touch with All Might or Sonia or her friends. I wonder what they been doing?

"I know honey, waiting for the results is terrible." Mom spoke up with a smile. "I just want to let you know i'm proud and you did wonderful out there."

"Thanks mom, that makes me feel better." I smiled softly. She walked off to grab the mail leaving me with Lola as I started lifting a heavy dumbbell. I should be grateful the chaos force was healing my injury from One For All. If the backlash was that bad, I should think about flowing the chaos energy in my body to keep the backlash from being worse. At some point hopefully I can handle its full power.

"Chao Chao." I looked down at Lola who held up a small drawing she made, which was me with her hugging with hearts around it.

"It looks great Lola." I smiled. She flew up and hugged my neck while the little bud on her head grew into a heart. "Hehe your just so sweet you know that?"

The door swung open as mom ran in. "Izuku! The letter! It came! They're here! You're test results from UA!" She held a letter to me with UA's stamp.

'Okay time to face the music.' I thought as I took it. I went into my room alone while Mom stood outside with Lola in her arms. I stared at the letter for a moment before I breathed and took it. I opened it while taking the paper out. Something fell out and clinked on my desk, which was a black circular device.

It turned on and showed a projectile of All Might. "Booyah! I am here as a projection now!"

"WAH!" I yelled in surprise as I nearly fell from my chair. "All Might? But isn't this a letter from UA?'

"I know it's been a while! But with great power, comes great amount of paperwork!" He replied while clearing his throat. "My apologies young man. The truth is, I didn't come to this city to fight villains, you're looking at the newest UA faculty member!"

"Whoa seriously you're gonna be working at UA?" I blanched in surprise.

He nodded before someone's hand was motioning. "Hm? Yes whats the matter? Whos showboating? Oh sorry I'll wrap it up but I have to show him something first…wait I have to do how many of these things?...sigh, alright. Moving on!" He cleared his throat. "Young Midoriya, you passed the written exam, and you scored 26 points on the practical exam." I tensed a bit. "While a decent score, it wouldn't exactly be a passing result."

"Figures." I sighed in disappointment.

"Fortunately there were other factors." All Might spoke up as I looked at the projection screen. "But before we get to that, I have another surprise! Look here!" He pointed to the TV nearby with the remote. "A short clip for your viewing pleasure!"

He played it as it displayed Uraraka and the pink girl from before. "Um, do you have a second?" Uraraka asked.

"It's them." I breathed.

"They came after the exam to talk about you." All Might replied. "What do they have to say? You'll have to stay tuned to find out!"

He continued the clip as they continued. "We're here in regard to a boy we met. He has messy green hair and freckles." the pink girl spoke. "The one who was shooting energy out his hands."

'She means me.' I thought in surprise.

"We were wondering, could you give him some of our points?" Uraraka asked as it stunned me. "He was so determined to get into UA. It's crazy. How can someone who took down that huge villain all by himself not get any points in the end?"

"He saved both of our butts, so we gotta make it up to him." The other girl added.

"Please give him some of our points!" Both begged.

"You have powers now, but it's your actions that inspire others." All Might. I was shocked and awed they went out their way to do this for me, despite knowing them for a short time. "And thats why I am here! You see the practical exam was not graded on combat alone!"

"Huh?" I blinked as the video continued.

"Thanks for coming to the station with your requests." President Mic replied as he patted their heads. "But there is no reason to give him your points that kid is charting all on his own."

The video ended while All Might spoke again. "How could a hero course reject someone who is committed to saving others no matter the consequences to himself?" he turned to me with his grin. "After all thats what makes a hero. And that is what my momatia is all about. Training those who have risked their lives for the greater good. So we have rescue points!"

"Rescue points?" I asked in surprise.

"A panel of judges watches. And they reward points for heroic acts beyond just fighting villains! Izuku Midoriya! 60 rescue points, for a total of 86 points!" The pro declared while shocking me to the core. "Ochako Uraraka, 45 rescue points for a total of 73 points! And Mina Ashida! 21 rescue Points for a total of 63 points!" He turned to the camera. "You all passed the exams."

"Ah…is…this some kind of joke?" I asked while still shocked and tearing up.

All might fully turned and held his hand out. "Welcome…Izuku. You have made it. You're now apart of the Hero Academia." The recording ended after that.

"I did it…" I breathed. I never felt so happy in my life. All that training was worth it in the end. I made it to my dream. I took a breath to calm myself before I walked to the door. I opened it as mom turned to me, both her and Lola awaiting my response. All I could do was smile.

Mom teared up knowing my answer as she hugged me. "OH MY BABY!"

"Chao Chao!" Lola cheered, joining in the hug. I hugged them tightly while I was full of joy.

"I finally did it, after all these years." I sniffed.

"I'm so proud of you Izuku." mom spoke while rubbing my back. "Your gonna achieve your dream."

We broke the embrace before hearing a knock at the door. "Who's that?" I blinked as we walked to the door.

I opened it before I was greeted by Sonia and her friends. "Hey bud." She greeted with a peace sign.

"Sonia?" I blinked in surprise.

"Did you get the word about your results?" She asked.

"Yeah I passed with 86 points." I replied.

"Knew you'd pass." Amy giggled while holding some bags up. "Which is why we came and brought some things to celebrate your success."

"That's very kind of you guys, thanks." I beamed. "Please come in."

They walked in while my mom was shocked. "Izuku are these the famous american heroes?"

"They are mom." I chuckled. "They're the reason I did well in the exams. They assisted in my training and studies."

"Yeah we whipped him into shape." Knuckla mused giving me a playful noogie.

I laughed while my mom was stunned, but she grew a bright smile. "I can't thank you all enough for what you did for him. It's finally nice to see my baby boy with new friends he can be with, even his idols."

"It was nothing ma'am." Tails replied sheepishly. From that day on, everything would change for the better.

Thats that for this chapter! i know its a bit shorter than the others, but the others will be longer. As I mentioned before, I have other chapters ready for publish so this story wont fall behind until reaching the chapter I stopped at.
