Chapter 59: Slowdown on Saturday

Isaribi woke up with a yawn as she rolled out of bed with a fading hangover. She had arrived back at her Hillcrest home near one in the morning before lumbering into her bed.

"At least I remembered to shower before bed." Isaribi said seeing she was wearing a fluffy bathrobe. "But I'm just glad I made it home…"

Drunk driving was not exactly something Isaribi was proud of, but she shrugged it off to get her phone to see if she had any messages. Naruto was taking the day off to spend with family, Tomoko was taking the day off, and Yara…was going to work with Ritchie leaving Isaribi on her lonesome. Isaribi went ahead and made herself breakfast, heating up a frozen breakfast sandwich.

"Maybe I'll call up Jon and ask him-Well speak of the devil…" Isaribi said seeing that he was calling to which she answered. "Hey Jon, what can I do for you?"

"Are you doing anything now?" Jon asked.

"No. Just got myself up…all my teammates are busy…I got a day off." Isaribi said smoothly.

"Would you like to go out on a dat-"

"Yes." Isaribi said with no hesitation. "What are you planning?"

"I was thinking about the underground mall in Davis. They have a bowling alley." Jon said sheepishly.

"Memory Lanes. Lucky for you, I happen to love bowling. I'll pick you up from your place." Isaribi remarked, going to her wardrobe.

"I'm actually at the mall already…I caught a cab." Jon said awkwardly.

"Then you saved me the trouble, cutie. I'll see you there." Isaribi said before hanging up. "What am I going to wear?!"

All those clothes she had in her closet and she could not decide on what to wear. Not wanting to keep him waiting, she went for the simple approach. A blue floral babydoll dress with a studded black cropped leather jacket, sheer stockings into a pair of gold studded folded high heeled boots, and a splash of dark makeup on her face. She left the house to get to her FMJ.

Dana looked at herself in the mirror. If there was something she did dislike about herself, it was being below average at height, only clocking in at 4'9". She really could only blame her mother for a lack of healthy options to eat and all that secondhand smoke. At least she had something of a figure...and now maybe she could at least have less of a chubby stomach. Her body issues only kicked in when a friend called and begged her to leave town with her. Josephine Colt was your typical southern farmer's daughter. She had the accent, the average height, the thin build, the double D's. All she lacked was the pale skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair, instead Josephine was lightly tanned with brown hair, brown eyes, and freckles on her face. Josephine had come along taking her youngest niece, Sadie Mae, a little girl about eight with the same skin tone and eyes with short brown hair. With the planning landing in LSIA, the three girls got off the plane with their luggage in hand.

"Ok, we're here. Can you please tell me why you couldn't tell me why you were in a rush to leave, Josephine?" Dana asked.

"Can you put on some music on your phone for Sadie Mae to listen to?" Josephine said moving her head to gesture to Sadie Mae who was messing around with the free earphones from the plane.

Dana, taking the hint, put something on her phone, plugging in Sadie Mae's earphones into it.

"Let's be frank, hun. We both know that Farmer's Field is as rancid as a manure pit. I had to get out…I…" Josephine said. "I was being used…by my brother…and other male relatives in my family."

"Oh fuck me…" Dana said horrified. "How long?"

"Doesn't matter. I was a target of my brother. When I got older and able to fend him off, he turned his attention to Sadie Mae. I put myself in harm's way…to do whatever nasty thing he wanted to me to keep his hands off of me. I did my best to shield her, but Roy wanted Sadie Mae. I couldn't let it happen, and the family wasn't doing shit about it. So I made plans to run away with Sadie Mae and make sure my family could never go after us." Josephine said.

"And that's why you called me for help?" Dana asked.

"I know I'm not…the brightest bulb. I was going to need help." Josephine said. "You were the only person I could think to trust. Molly was gone…and I don't really like Gabrielle too much. She reminds me of my brother."

"I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Seriously, there is something truly depraved about that town." Dana said. "But how are you going to keep your family away from you?"

"I dropped a tip-off to the cops about their meth labs…" Josephine said nervously.

"Even with the cops being dirty, they'll do something. Either way, first things first. We need to get your names changed…at least your surnames. Get Sadie Mae legally put on as your charge." Dana said before getting her phone out. "Let me call Molly."

[Cues: GTA Vice City OST - North Point Mall]

"Hey, Isaribi. You look really nice." Jon said sheepishly, fluffing his forest camo Stank jacket.

"Don't cut yourself too short." Isaribi said, taking his hand.

The two went down to the bowling alley to start up a game with Isaribi going first. She rolled her ball aiming in the middle…only to get an 8-10 split. Jon tried his luck…and landed a strike. It'd be a repeating pattern of strikes and splits only with Jon getting a gutterball or two.

"How are you so good at this?" Jon asked.

"Played often back in Liberty." Isaribi said landing a spare. "It was a good way to hang out with friends."

"So what is it like living in Liberty?" Jon curiously asked, taking his turn.

"Liberty's a big ol' maze. Tight corners. A real urban jungle." Isaribi said, taking her last turn. "As long as you weren't stupid or went into certain neighborhoods, it's aight."

Jon took his final turn, but did not win being just fifty points shy. He took the loss in stride as they left for the food court for lunch.

Lester sighed given what Molly had dropped on her lap. However, given Molly and Jabari had done what he asked in exchange, he did not complain. Plus, Naruto did pay for expenses.

"You all are lucky Naruto asked for me to help and paid for this." Lester said before finishing it up. "And more so the Colt family is a classic case of meth-addled hillbilly trash."

"Well?" Dana asked.

"Here's the thing. Josephine's 18. She can legally change her own name. Sadie Mae is a bit more complicated. She's your niece, right. What about her parents?" Lester inquired.

"Dead. They were trying to scam the Chinese in Liberty. Ain't go so well." Josephine said as Lester rolled his eyes.

"Then this makes it easier for me, I can just set up Sadie Mae as your adopted daughter…technically she'll be an orphan with her new surname." Lester remarked. "So what will it be?"

"Sawyer." Josephine said.

"Give me ten minutes." Lester said getting to work.

In the food court, the two were having hot dogs with chili cheese fries simply enjoying each other's company. Isaribi simply just relaxed, not having to worry about work.

"It's been so long since I've actually been on a date. Years." Isaribi said, sipping on her drink.

"I figured you'd be fending off men with a stick." Jon remarked.

"Nah. I kinda kept to myself dating wise after my first love's passing." Isaribi remarked.

"What happened to him?" Jon asked.

"Cancer." Isaribi said nonchalantly. "Tragic, but there was nothing they could do. All I could do was comfort him in his last days. Cancer isn't exactly something people should deal with when you're sixteen."

"I'm sorry I asked." Jon said.

"I've made my peace with my loss. It's ok, he would have wanted me to go on living." Isaribi mused. "That's what I did. I didn't really have any serious relationships afterward. Maybe a fling, but nothing to write home about. It was mostly keeping to myself and with my friends back then."

As they finished off their food before trashing the wrappers and such, she got a call from her secretary.

Josephine knew she was not exactly the brightest, but she knew she was sacrificing. A single mother was not exactly something appealing, but if it would help her niece stay in her care…she'd do it. Not that she wanted a boyfriend yet given her own issues, but still. She'd do what she could to help her Sadie Mae. She was still innocent…she had a chance of not becoming fucked up like the rest of the family. For that reason aside from loving that Josephine would go from being an aunt to a mother. Josephine would do it for her.

"So Dana, how do you decide on what you're going to do?" Josephine asked as they were outside Lamar's garment factory.

"I was going to stick around…I might have to join Tidal Fox to get funds fast to help you out." Dana remarked.

"Absolutely not. You got a future ahead, my life's already screwed." Josephine said firmly. "I'm not going to let you do that for me. I won't allow it. It's my responsibility."

"At least, let me babysit once in a while." Dana said as Sadie Mae came out with the paperwork.

"Mr. Crest says it's all done." Sadie Mae said as Josephine took it. "So I guess you're my ma now."

"Don't fret too hard, kiddo." Josephine said as Jabari and Molly followed out looking unsure. "What's wrong?"

"The Kumicho Hisho called for a meeting with you, Josephine. To deal with the matter of your debt to the Kumicho." Jabari said as Josephine and Dana raised an eyebrow.

"The advisor is calling you to talk about what you owe the boss." Molly said. "I forgot that people seem to only know what the Italian mafia is. We're a Yakuza."

"The Chinese mafia?" Josephine asked.

"No, that's Triads. Yakuza's Japanese. And try not to mix them up, one of the bosses is pretty proud of her Japanese heritage. She hates being mistaken for Chinese." Molly said before going to her car. "Come on."

"Nii-san, thanks for spending time with me to show me around the city." Naruko said getting in the Patriot with Neji and Hanabi. "But we're continuing our art tour with the tour group. Next stop is in Las Venturas then after a few days there, then we're finally going to Liberty to complete the tour."

Naruto waved them off as Neji drove off. Naruto got a cab to fast travel to his headquarters. He went straight to his accommodations to change to a Peresus onyx suit with an orange tie and orange wingtips. Isaribi would arrive with Jon and several donuts.

"Remind me why I'm here." Isaribi asked Nora. "If this is mostly Naruto's dealing."

"I figured you'd want to be informed, and know we're getting new associates. More from Molly's side of the fence." Nora said as Isaribi groaned.

As the elevator door opened as Molly and her group came out.

"So you have more people from Farmer's Fields? Let me guess, they're victims of depraved shit too?" Isaribi snarked.

"Pretty much." Ruth said bluntly.

"How is it that a backwater town in PA somehow is both utterly rancid and unheard of?" Isaribi asked sarcastically.

"Corrupt rich people." Molly said bluntly. "But considering most of the kids are leaving, I doubt it'll stay that way for long. Regardless, this Dana Angel…Josephine Sawyer…and the little one's Sadie Mae Sawyer."

"So our new associates?" Isaribi remarked.

"Actually, I'd just like to work for one of your fronts." Dana said sheepishly. "I'm not one for being a gangster."

"Then, you can join me in my office for a chat. I'll see what I can set you up with. Name's Isaribi Umi, the Oyabun of the Nine Tails." Isaribi said, her tone taking a more professional tint, before turning to Jabari. "Jabari, take the kid to the break room."

Isaribi looked at Jon.

"I'll follow him. Hopefully it doesn't take long." Jon joked.

"It won't. We could hit up the boardwalk to wrap up our date." Isaribi said as Jon left with Jabari and Sadie Mae.

Josephine caught the tone shift only to freeze upon Isaribi's eyes on her.

"You don't look like much, but appearances are deceiving. Seeing you want to join our merry band of misfits. You'll be placed in a squad either under three Kobun or serving under a Kyodai. Don't disappoint…" Isaribi said walking away with Dana before stopping. "And one last thing….welcome to Los Santos."

Isaribi left with Dana as Molly and Ruth led Josephine to the meeting room. Josephine wished she had bought some new clothes…she felt like a bum in front of their leader. Ruth and Molly did their best to prepare her for this.

"Ruth, Molly, thank you for bringing this matter to me." Naruto said before tossing Ruth a roll of bills. "Consider it a bit of a bonus. 2500 hundred for you both."

"Thanks boss." Molly said before she and Ruth left.

"Well Josephine, I will say after Lester filled me in your situation…I'd be more than willing to make you an associate. There's a matter of the ten grand you owe me. Of course, I'm not going to make a big fuss over it as that can be paid back quickly."

"I have something I want to ask. I know I'll be working for you, but I need to do something for my daughter." Josephine said as Naruto had an idea.

"Well, if it's childcare you're looking for. I might have a solution." Naruto remarked before making a phone call.

He put it on speaker.

"What's good, big boss?" Jase remarked.

"Fine, how's your honeymoon?" Naruto asked.

"Good, I actually got some important updates for you and Isaribi." Jase mused.

"It can wait. I have a situation, and I want to defer to your advice. Probably you and Alex's advice." Naruto said before going into some of the details.

"First and foremost, I'll be willing to cover Sadie Mae's expenses for school. I was going to put my son in a private school in Paleto. I'll cover the kid's expenses as long as Josephine's working for our organization." Jase said seriously. "As for Josephine, Kara's been raving about getting a live-in maid for her home. Let me talk to her about it."

"I'll trust your judgment. And you can have Alex call about the updates you have for me." Naruto said before hanging up. "Now we can move on to how you could pay me back."

"Is this the part when I suck you off?" Josephine asked.

She was willing to do it…at least if it kept Sadie Mae safe. Naruto raised an eyebrow before he chuckled.

"I helped you out for 10k. Do you really think I'd call it even for you blowing me?" Naruto asked. "Or even sleeping with you? Sex is nice and all, but it's not a commodity that can replace amounts of cash after a grand. Besides, I rather you not force yourself to do that given what little I've been told. I assume it's far worse than what Lester told me."

"Wow, you're mighty respectful for a mob boss." Josephine remarked.

"And that's why I have loyal members and an effective organization." Naruto said as his phone rang. "Looks like Kara's calling. If she accepts, aside from working for her…you'll be aiding in our biker gang. How are you with motorcycles?"

"So are those all my options?" Dana asked.

"On my end. Naruto's got a hotel, a tavern, and a car mod shop. Yara's got a nail place, a juice bar, and a jewelry store in Naruto's hotel. Tomoko's got a tech shop and a grocery store." Isaribi said as Dana inwardly weighed her options.

"I'll take being a cab driver." Dana said, shaking Isaribi's hand. "Any recommendations for a good apartment?"

"Well associates and members of our organization are inclined to get a free hotel room. Since you're working for me, I can get you a room at the Hookah Palace, if you want it." Isaribi remarked.

"Yes. Yes, please." Dana said as Isaribi made a quick call.

"Ok, go on ahead downstairs. There's a black BeeJay XL waiting out front, that's yours. Don't worry, that's a freebie." Isaribi said before sending Dana directions. "And one last thing."

Out from her desk, she pulled out a pair of deagles before tossing one to Dana.

"Welcome to Los Santos." Isaribi said before Dana took it.

Dana bowed and took her leave looking down at the gun in her hand. She made a note to find a shooting range.

"How'd it go?" Molly asked.

"Got a free gun, a hotel room at the Hookah Palace, and a job as a cab driver." Dana remarked. "Molly…you know any good shooting ranges?"

"You can hang with us. I can make my own range." Ruth chirped.

"Sounds good…and Molly? I'm sorry. I was so full of my shit, that I sat there and watched you get tormented. I…"

"Don't apologize. Just keep living. We're not in that town anymore, so let sleeping dogs lie." Molly said as Dana went to the elevator.

"Yeah, let sleeping dogs lie." Dana thought before coming down the elevator.

Josephine came out of the meeting room all smiles as the others came out.

"So Isaribi, I got you a new member for the Blue Banekos." Naruto remarked.

"This'll be a first then…that we actually have a prospect." Isaribi said, looking Josephine in the eyes before giving her the other deagle. "Here. You'll need this."

"Thank you." Josephine said before leaving with Sadie Mae, Molly, Jabari, and Ruth.

"Finally. Let's get out of here." Isaribi said, taking Jon's hand. "Let me ask you something, ever been on a helicopter before?"

Tiffany kicked back in her new office chair in her new office within Caligula's Palace. She now ran the place and it felt good to be in the position. Jessie was giving her the side eye, not without good reason.

The door opened to see Luna and Huey walk in.

"I see you're enjoying your new office." Luna said sternly. "How's things?"

"Good, things are coming along." Tiffany said, lowering the volume on the speakers.

"Just make sure it's smooth sailing. We'll have an accountant to assist with financials come Monday." Huey remarked.

"Look, we're grateful, but I want to know what my daughter's in for." Jessie said, walking up to the grand window overlooking the city. "Don't take this personally, but she's my only child. So what? Terrorist, the mafia, some international cartel?"

Huey and Luna laughed.

"Try an international spy agency." Luna said as Jessie sighed with relief.

"Never mind, the less we know the better." Jessie said as Huey and Luna took their leave.

The couple walked right out. For Huey, it was beyond weird at first to think of Luna as a girlfriend, but he was quickly getting used to it.

"So, you want to hit the gym?" Luna said with a grin. "I'm down for a sparring session."

"Oh all right." Huey said with a grin.

"I had a good time." Isaribi said as she dropped him off at his place.

"Just doing my bid." Jon remarked as he got out of the car. "I don't think I can top a helicopter ride around the city."

"Not a matter of topping, just enjoying each other's company." Isaribi said wistfully as she got out of her car. "Which I did very much."

"I need to get a new car." Jon said dryly. "I should be dropping you home like a gentleman."

Jon was pulled into a gentle kiss form Isaribi before he broke it.

"I'd offer you a good car on my dime, but you'd want to work for one, tough guy." Isaribi said as Jon smirked as he held her waist.

"Can I work with you?" Jon teased.

"Maybe, but don't expect any nepotism. Tidal Fox has a system after all." Isaribi said before the front door opened.

Jennifer would say something, but just let the moment between the couple happen before Isaribi broke away.

"Be seeing ya, Jonny boy." Isaribi said before getting in her car and driving off.

Isaribi looked at ease before looking at her to-do list. Getting supplies for the weed farm was near the top. She decided to call up Josephine.

"Josephine, right? I need a partner for a job…you'll be paid and if you stick it out…you may make Kobun by the end of the night."

Isaribi told her where to meet and hung up before turning around to go back to Jon's.

"Isaribi?" Jon remarked as he was surprised by her sudden return.

"Jon, you said you wanted in on the business. Well, I'm going on a supply run with another rookie wanting to be a Kobun." Isaribi said with a cheeky look. "Don't worry, it's low on the risk factor. Just the standard low level stuff you have to do once in a while."

He got his jacket and left with her.

(A/N: Just presume Josephine and Jon succeeded in getting those supplies with Isaribi. Either way, we have some more characters from Farmer's Field. Dana, Josephine, and Sadie Mae. I had hinted that more characters were going to escape that place. Dana was the first to come to mind. Aside from Molly and the younger characters, her backstory that I've added onto is to play the more realistic and tragic side of Monkeycheese's characters. Moving on, it was nice to write some down time between Isaribi and Jon. Don't worry, Tomoko and Ben will have their turn soon enough. As for what's next, something a bit low-key. Namely working on the missions for Tiana (and technically Jenifer).)
