Chapter 62: Capers and Heists

Los Santos

Monday

Naruto was in a fairly good mood. He woke up early, got on some track clothes, went out on a run (while taking Suiko out for a walk), beat a mugger to death which netted him a free bat, and walked into a 24/7 off Innocence Boulevard…that was being robbed.

"Put the money in th-"

WHAM! Naruto cracked that guy's head with pure metal…a bat to the skull. Naruto just slammed the second one's head into the counter to knock him out. The store clerk was just in disbelief as Naruto put away the bat and got a can of Orang-a-Tang soda out of the fridge to put on the counter.

"Just take it. They'll pay for it." The clerk said.

Naruto silently took the can and the robbers' ammo before walking out. The clerk was more than happy to empty the robbers' wallets, quite grateful for Naruto only taking the ammo on them. A cab ride to the warehouse soon to be a restaurant, he entered to find the inside looking more put together. Upon asking for Tiana, one of the guys working to set up the restaurant pointed over to the office door.

Tiana was finishing up a phone call as Naruto came in, walking into the mission marker before taking a seat.

"I was casing out a spot to do some robberies, but it seems we were beaten to the punch. The Carson Avenue Families have robbed a few places. I got a guy in there…feeds me information in exchange for a good meal that his hoochie baby mama can't provide…along with a job working here." Tiana said, calmly pouring her a cup of tea. "Tea? It's peppermint."

"Tempting, but I had a drink on the way here. So where will I go to get what we need?" Naruto asked. "And I should be worried about that guy?"

"EJ? No, not at all. He's been slowly losing loyalty from a gang who treats him like shit and a baby momma who's regularly cheating on with his OGs. Now that I think about it, he wants his son, but can't get him before he can't protest for custody." Tiana said.

"Ok, I'll merc her." Naruto said as Tiana raised an eyebrow.

"Know what? Fine. Let me call him in." Tiana said, texting him.

EJ came in.

"EJ, where's that thot of a baby momma?" Tiana asked.

"Out on some island…she just posted to Bleeter a picture of her on some beach with a nigga." EJ said annoyed.

Tiana asked about his kid and when he told her where he was.

"Naruto, can you lend some of your guys to escort him to get his child? That child is supposed to be with his mother…but clearly she's defrauding the government." Tiana said as Naruto made the call. "EJ, wait outside for me please."

EJ left as Naruto got Sindy on the line…before hanging up after a short talk.

"Some bikers are on the way." Naruto said. "And that beach…that's…"

"The same island that cult you killed off was from." Tiana said as Naruto chuckled. "Take Charlotte with you, she's out front. I'll handle your girls and EJ."

[Music Ends]

He left to find Charlotte by her car and got in as she drove off.

"Ok, so we have two options. We can get a boat and storm directly. Or if we get an attack heli-"

"Attack copter is fine. I have a Buzzard Attacker stashed. Drive me to my place at 4 Hangman Avenue." Naruto said as Charlotte hit the gas.

Over at said house, Mirabel was having burritos for breakfast while sitting out on a lawn chair. She was already halfway through the dozen breakfast burritos when Naruto and Charlotte arrived. Naruto snatched up one to shove it into his mouth as Suiko snatched one.

"Morning to you too, Naruto…what is it this time?" Mirabel asked.

"Taking the Buzzard and we're robbing the CAF." Naruto said as she sprang up. "Coming?"

"Just let me get my guns." Mirabel said before quickly getting herself armed.

Charlotte basically ate the last of burritos before the three boarded the helicopter. Suiko went inside as Naruto flew them out. He missed Suiko managing to turn on the television by herself to watch it. In the air, idle chat was had as Isaribi called for a meeting between 'protags' before a call from Lester confirmed that their last boss for a job…had another one for them. As per the last one, Lester wanted no details about it aside from the finder's fee he was receiving before he hung up. They were soon nearing the cult island to see the goons who were supposed to be guarding the island were chilling on the beach. Naruto simply opened fire on them catching everyone there off guard before he landed.

They found the goods as Naruto had to search for a boat. To his good fortune, there was a Police Predator boat abandoned…likely from the chaos that happened here. He helped Charlotte and Maribel load it before getting a call from Tiana.

"You're going to have company…it seems they realize they're about to be robbed." Tiana said.

"We came on a chopper, I could provide air support." Naruto responded.

"Ok, I need you to clear the way and keep them safe. I'm sending my guys with the truck to Cape Catfish. You know what to do?"

Tiana hung up before calling Charlotte to give her the instructions as he got back in the helicopter. The radio turned on blaring some classic rock as Naruto smirked. He took to flying before opening fire at some of the boats and jet skis that had gangbangers on it. He even used a missile to keep the attention on him. Given they had not seen Maribel and Charlotte leave…the gangbangers assumed it was on the helicopter. At least Naruto hoped as he kept firing at them.

"Give me a status." Naruto remarked into his earpiece.

"We're a quarter of the way there…I don't see any gangbangers following us. But you need to get out of the water…think you can fly the helicopter towards land…they'd have to follow you. You can lead them away." Mirabel said. "Or you just land on the island and face them off on the ground."

"Noted. I-"

A rocket whizzed by him making him lose control. He cursed trying to stabilize only for the helicopter to get hit with a rocket.

"Damn it." Naruto said as the chopper was going down. "Well, then…may as well…jump!"

Naruto kicked open the door and leapt out of the helicopter. Falling, he opened fire on a few mooks on Seasharks before hitting the water. Despite the stinging pain, Naruto resurfaced and jacked one of the jetskis before racing away from the pursuing gangbangers.

"Fuck it, calling Merryweather for an airstrike." Naruto said using his phone to order it.

It was still worth the seven grand to see a Merryweather strike team fly over and blow those mooks to smithereens. He got to heading for Cape Catfish, and once back on land…he stole the nearest car to get back on the road.

"Back on land, but I lost the chopper. Where are you guys?" Naruto asked.

"Passing through Grapeseed on route back…Mirabel's folks are doing a convoy for us." Charlotte said. "So 10-4 boss. I'll let T know."

Tiana called shortly later.

"Thank you…that was the last of the stuff needed. Now all that's left is finishing the setup and getting approval from the health inspector." Tiana said. "Don't worry about the health inspector, I do want that to be legit. A clean kitchen is a healthy one after all. You won't be paid this time…I actually do all the money to put to finishing this business venture to get it open."

"As much as I'm getting a cut of the business when it opens, it's not that big a deal. I'm supposed to be helping to put money into our joint venture." Naruto said.

"It's refreshing to work with someone who gets the business side of things." Tiana said. "You don't give yourself enough credit. But we'll have this restaurant up in a few days."

Naruto chuckled at the praise before she hung up.

It was a relief that while Tiana could not pay him, the System did, even if he netted a three thousand profit.

Over at the Whispymound house that was fittingly nicknamed the Heist House, Isaribi and the others were getting cleaned up and ready. It was all agreed between the four to wear the Matrix getup, but had their own tweaks to it. Isaribi wore the bluish-purple contour shades with dark lipstick and Yara had silver aviators while both were keeping the Trinity look. Tomoko opted for the Morpheous look like Naruto, both wearing similar shades.

"Should we change the theme for our gang?" Yara asked. "I like wearing it, but…it feels…like overkill."

Naruto entered.

"I'm here." Naruto said.

"Good. I got a cup of coffee from Bean Machine there for you. Take it and let's go…we got a job from Agent 13."

[Heist #3 - The Humane Raid]

The four entered the heist room to find Agent 14 where setting up the board to which he turned to face them.

"Good morning. I think you'll like this, especially given the circumstances…means you'll be paid a lot more." Agent 14 said as Naruto closed the door.

"Then I assume it's high risk…and important." Tomoko noted.

"It is. There's a chemical factory, Humane Labs, which used to be under the Russian you saved…and the other one you 'popped'." Agent 14 said before they all snickered at the pun. "Right. It was leased to a shadow company, one run by Don Percival."

"The guy who runs Merryweather, we're familiar with his company. I assume we're going to have to avoid using any services his company offers for a while." Isaribi stated as Agent 14 grimly nodded. "What crimes against humanity are they doing now?"

"Aside from Don being as subtle as a warmongering red dildo, our intel suggests nerve agents." Agent 13 said as all four looked at him with muted horror. "At least that's all the details we can get. My boss wants you all to investigate in the process of this. But we have two things we need you to start with…"

He showed them the board and Isaribi squinted her eyes at one of the photos.

"First off, we're going to get the key codes from an agent who's having a bit of trouble with the Breau so use caution. I've marked the location of the exchange. One will do the exchange, one will be a bodyguard, and two of you are going to be lookouts. As for the other task, you'll be stealing Insurgents from Merryweather…they're on exercise at Davis Quartz in Blaine County. Do either one in whatever order…good luck." Agent 14 said before asking who's paying for setup costs.

"I'll do it." Yara said handing over the startup funds.

"Alright. We're in business. I trust you'll have it handled." Agent 14 said before leaving.

"Holy shit, we're going to be saving the world." Yara said as Tomoko rolled her eyes. "Supposedly."

"Isa, you ok?" Naruto asked.

"I think I know the agent…and if it is her…I want to be the one to do the exchange on that mission." Isaribi affirmed.

"Ok, we're splitting up on these." Tomoko asked.

"Naruto, think you, Yara, and Tomoko can deal with the Insurgents?" Isaribi asked. "I can arrange a team to go deal with the key codes."

"We can do that." Yara said as the three left to get started.

Isaribi slumped in a chair, about to call Lester…but called Ned instead.

"Ned, how's the flight to Las Venturas?" Isaribi asked.

"Quite well. Me, Jakov, Catrina, and Olga are happy to be working remotely from LV. Jakov's happy at that new gym with that friend of Jase's. I've settled into calling to manage Caligula's. Catrina's actually into getting us all a place." Ned remarked.

"Glad to hear it." Isaribi before putting in a reminder to call Jase and Alex later. "I need you to look into the status of someone…Karen Daniels. She's IAA. I just need to confirm where she's stationed."

"That can be done. A few moments please." Ned said.

Isaribi texted the other three that they dealt with these two tasks, they were all meeting up to 'confirm' things with Alex and Jase over lunch. Isaribi, of course, noted that she'd pay for it.

"Ok, she's stationed in LS, but I'm inclined to ask why the interest." Ned asked.

"An old ghost from my past." Isaribi said. "Thank you Ned."

She hung up and sighed. Despite this, she had a job to do, but first she swapped the longcoat for her Chapter President jacket. It was time to call the Blue Banekos.

(A/N: Next up, the Humane Raid, something I've been eager to do seeing what story potential this one has. Plus, I do want to get the heists out of the way to deal with other plot threads. Yes, the Nerd and Jock quartet have 'exited' the story in a sense, this being a way to streamline the story while also opening up the idea of a return to Las Venturas. As for this heist, yes, the format will be like the last one. Missions will be divided up by chapter.)
