As soon as they entered the door at apartment 20 they were asked million questions, if they where fine, where they were, etc. And they told them about getting stuck at the ATM vestibule and then going to the store, also they asked the gang who was this new guy at the apartment, and they got on the story about the cat and this Paolo guy. The group hang out for a couple hours and they went their different ways to sleep.
The next day Chandler planned the date, it has to be the perfect date, he was finally going out with Monica, so he spend a good amount of work time researching, calling places and making reservations.
When he finished work, he went to their usual place, Central Perk, and to his luck the only one of the gang there was Monica.
"Hey" he smiled as he walked to the couch and sat next to her giving her a lingering kiss on the cheek.
She smiled back and replied softly, "Hey, how was your day?" As he sat against one end of the orange couch and she cuddled a little at his side.
"Well it was the same boring thing I do everyday at work… but I did managed to plan our date, so how does this Friday at 7 sound?" hi grinned at her.
"Really?" She asked excited at the prospect of their date, "Friday sounds perfect" she added softly grinning back at him.
"Okay" he glanced around being careful no one was watching them and gave her a quick soft kiss.
"Were are we going?" She asked him smiling up at him.
"That is a surprise" he winks at her and chuckled softly at her pouting face.
"You know I don't like surprises, how am I supposed to know what to wear?" She pouted trying to get him to tell her the plans.
"As cute as your face is right now" he risked a quick kiss "I'm not telling you" he smirks at her "as for your clothes, you look great in everything, but as I know you really like to be prepared just dress casual" he said smiling sweetly at her.
She smiled back, cuddling more into him "Okay… Hey how are we gonna go without the others knowing?" She frowns a little with worry.
"Mhm… well you could just say you're going on a date but not say with who and I'll say that I have to work late?" He says after thinking for a moment
"Yeah that sounds good" she relaxed against him and let out a soft, content sigh.
"And at seven we can meet up a couple of blocks around the apartment and we go from there" he said softly to her their inicial plans.
"Mhm okay, I can't wait" she says softly and the excitement very obvious on her voice.
"Me too" he adds softly kissing the top of her head.
They kept talking as the gang started to gather in their usual seats. Nobody thought anything of their position because that's just how they always have been.
The days passed and the gang had their usual hang out, getting together at the coffee house or apartment 20, the only change between Monica and Chandler were some stolen glances and when they were alone some soft quick kisses, everything was good and soon it was finally Friday, the day of the date that could possibly improve the life of two members of the six Friends.
It was a little after six and Monica was getting ready in her room, applying light makeup and a red shade of lipstick, she took a look at herself in the mirror over her dresser and when she was satisfied she went to her closet, still clad in her bath towel from her shower a little earlier, to choose what to wear, she went through her entire closet and finally chose a simple red dress with thin straps, a little form fitting that goes to just above her knees, with an off-white jacket over it and simple red heels. She applied the last touches and looked at the clock on her nightstand, it read 6:45 pm so she took her small bag and went out of her room, in the living room Rachel was watching tv.
"Wow Mon you look great! Got a hot date?" Rachel said with a teasing smirk.
"Thank you, and yes I have a date that would probably go really well so don't wait up" she winks at her and chuckles as she make her way through the door and out of the apartment.
She walked to where they agreed to meet with a small amount of nerves in the pit of her stomach, but that went away when she saw from the distance how Chandler's face light up as soon as he saw her and the instant grin that came to his face.
"Hey" She said softly as she stood in front of him.
"Hey" He said almost in a whisper "Wow, you look… Wow" he added with a soft voice, making her blush slightly.
She giggled at his stunned expression "You look great too" she smiled at him and leaned to kiss his cheek. He was wearing a simple black suit with a white shirt.
He hummed at her proximity and smiled back at her "shall we go?" He said offering the crock of his arm to her, she accepted and he guided her to the next street to take a cab. The talked softly the whole ride to the restaurant, with the same ease they always share.
When the reached the restaurant he paid for the cab and offered a hand to help her step out of the car, keeping her hand in his they made their way to the entrance and after he confirmed the reservation with the host. They were guided to their table in a terrace. Chandler helped Monica with her chair and took the seat in front of her.
"This place is gorgeous" She said looking around the place.
"Not as gorgeous as you" he said softly smiling and taking her hand above the table caressing her knuckles with his thumb.
She blushed and smiled at him "Mhm thank you" the waiter approached their table to serve their wine.
They clicked their glasses together and took a sip.
"I didn't know you were so romantic" said Monica taking another sip.
"Oh there's a lot you don't know about me" he said in a low flirty voice.
And that's how their night went, they ordered their food and shared stories they haven't told each other yet, laughing, teasing and flirting. It was as if there was no one around them.
Their foods were long gone went Chandler took a look around and saw that everyone else was gone and the waiters were practically cleaning to close and glanced at his watch, "Wow I can't believe it's past eleven already" he told her in a surprised tone.
"No way, that can't be true" she took his hand to look at the clock on his wrist. "Wow I guess it's true when they said that time flies when you are having a good time" she said softly.
Their waiter approached them and they asked for the check, Chandler paid with his card and they gathered their things to exit the restaurant. Outside was really beautiful and warm for an August night.
"Do you want to take a walk back?" He asked her taking her left hand and entwining their fingers and squeezing slightly her hand.
"Yeah it's beautiful outside" she replied softly squeezing back.
Their restaurant was just a block from Central Park so they headed that way to walk through the park back to their apartments.
They reached a bridge and stopped in the middle standing front to front. Monica's arms went around Chandler's neck and his went around her waist.
"I had a great time today… actually I thinks this is the best first date I've ever had" she said softly glancing at his eyes, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.
"Me too" he replied in a whisper, glancing quickly at her lips and pulling her closer to him.
They kept staring at each others eyes, sneaking glances to the other's lips, and slowly they leaned in to kiss slowly at first, Chandler angled his head to deepen the kiss, tracing her lower lip with his tongue, she opened her mouth and welcomed his tongue with her own fight against each other, and the kiss started to get more passionate and heated. They parted when the need for air was necessary and shared soft pecks after, moaning against each other's mouth. They stopped breathing hard, their foreheads touching. They kissed gently once more and composed themselves to continue their way back.
They kept walking in a comfortable silence, arms wrapped around the other's waist. When they reached the hall between their apartments they stood in each other arms.
"I don't want tonight to end" he admitted in a whisper, resting his forehead against hers.
"Me neither" she sighed softly.
"Do you wanna come in for a cup of coffee?" He asked kissing her softly.
"What about Joey?" She looked into his eyes.
"He's not home tonight, probably won't be home till tomorrow at noon".
"Mhm perfect then" she said in a flirty tone.
They went in to his apartment, made coffee and sat cuddling in the orange couch in his apartment. They talked a little more, but sneaked kisses in between. Things started to get more heated and they stumbled to his room, closing his door.
