Mimi and Roll were finally allowed to go outside on their own as they got older. Buneary was sometimes overprotective of her two girls but eventually Pikachu managed to convince her that they are more than ready.
"C'mon, honey, I taught Mimi everything I know they will be fine," he said to her.
Buneary sighed. "Alright but only because Mimi is that much older," she said before turning to her shiny daughter. "You keep an eye on your sister ok? And be careful," she said to her.
Mimi grinned widely. "Oh don't worry, mom, if anyone tries something in the wild I will kick their as- I mean butts," she said, correcting herself so she doesn't swear in front of her mother. Roll was also excited and was bouncing on the balls of her feet.
Buneary hugged their daughters as they left the house finally venturing out on their own as then Pikachu wrapped one of his arms around Buneary's waist and Buneary leaned her head to rest on his shoulder. "I just hope nothing bad will happen," she said.
Pikachu looked at her and smiled. "Oh c'mon Buneary they are more than old enough to take care of themselves, even Roll isn't a little kid anymore you know?" he said to her, rubbing her back.
Buneary sighed. "I know I am just worried about them getting into trouble," she said.
Pikachu chuckled. "Oh c'mon it's only route 1 what can possibly go wrong?" he said to her and Buneary gave him a look reminding him of his first day. "I was just unlucky ok? C'mon you are too stressed you need to relax I will help you out," Pikachu said giving her a peck on the lips.
Buneary giggled at his proposal. "What do you have in mind then?" she said, giving him a cheeky smile.
Pikachu returned it. "Well we are gonna be alone for quite a while…" he said, holding her close before engaging in a passionate kiss.
Back with the two young Bunearies they were walking on route 1. Well in Roll's case, hopping all over the place in excitement. "Oh I am so excited to go on an adventure! I wonder what will happen today," she said.
Mimi shrugged. "Who knows but it probably won't be as exciting as dad's first adventure," she said reminiscing of their father telling them the story of that fateful day when he met Ash. She still couldn't believe how bad of a physical shape he used to be and that he could be quite an asshole sometimes, talk about a glow up. "But it is nice seeing stuff that isn't just Pallet town or Oak's ranch," she said before her sister wanted to get her attention.
She hopped over to her and tugged her arm. "Look Mimi a little pond," she said pointing towards it.
Mimi shrugged. "Sure we can also take a sip from it while we are there. I am kinda thirsty," Mimi said as both bunnies hopped towards the water. On arrival they saw some wild Pokemon lived there but they didn't give them the friendliest of greetings. They looked at them with very suspicious looks.
They decided to ignore them and just go sit at the pond to have some water when a Krabby splashed them. "Hey what gives?" Mimi said, wiping the water off her face.
Many more water Pokemon then appeared from the water. "Outsiders like you are not welcome," one of them said.
Mimi's eye and unrolled ear twitched. "Rude…" she said while her sister nodded in agreement shyly.
"Hey we just wanted to rest for a bit…" Roll the younger of the two sisters said but was instantly met with a response.
A Shellder spoke up. "Well, take a rest somewhere else, we don't want pokemon like you causing us trouble again," it said.
This made the two bunnies tilt their heads at the "again" part, but their thoughts were interrupted when a Mankey got in their face. "Yea so now scram, before I make you…" it said threateningly.
Roll hid behind her big sister as Mimi got into a fighting stance glaring back at the Mankey. "Make me huh?" she said.
The Mankey intensified his glare at her. "Yea, so you better run away like the little bunny you are before I beat you to a pulp," he said.
This made Mimi return the glare and her unrolled ear was twitching ready to dish out punishment. "Joke's on you, I have been itching for a REAL battle lately, you have no idea who you are messing with," she responded, with her heart racing and adrenaline pumping.
Roll was ready to jump in and help her sister. Mimi was actually very eager to finally show off everything her father taught her. The two pokemon were ready to jump at each other when they heard a voice stopping them. A slow and monotone voice to be exact. "Hey you two please don't fight," it said.
All three pokemon turned to see the origin of the voice that slowly walked towards them from the water. "I don't want anyone to get hurt," it said again confirming the voice origin. The pokemon in question was a Slowpoke but upon a closer look the two Buneary sisters noticed something was off about this Slowpoke as it was missing its tail for some reason.
Roll gasped. "AAAAAAAAAAAAA HE IS SO CUUUUTE," she exclaimed before jumping towards the Slowpoke to hug his face and nuzzle him. Both Mimi and the Mankey sweatdropped at what just happened as it only made Slowpoke chuckle slowly.
Mankey facepalmed. "Dude, we can't trust these people. Every outsider is after your tail to snack remember?" he said to him grumbling.
Slowpoke just kept his derpy face. "They seem nice, especially this one," he slowly said referring to Roll who was still hugging him.
Mimi then spoke up. "So what is this with the tail problem?" she asked and Mankey was prepared to give the answer.
"Well if you must know lately a lot of Pokemon were bullying our friend Slowpoke here," he said pointing to him, "and used his slow reactions and mind to their advantage while also cutting off his tail for an easy snack," he said.
Roll was horrified. "That's horrible… Mimi we have to help them out," she said to her sister.
Mimi hesitated a little. "I dunno, Roll, mom and dad could get worried if it takes too long…" she said but Roll gave her puppy eyes.
"Pleaaaase?" she pleaded. "We can show those bullies a taste of their own medicine," Roll said more determinedly.
This made Mimi's ear twitch. "Well when you say it like that… Sure," she said, beaming a smile.
"Yippee," Roll said happily, hugging Slowpoke tighter, "so when do these guys arrive?" she remembered to ask.
Mankey scratched his head. "Well once a day at least, that is how long it takes for his tail to grow back," he said. Both bunnies nodded, deciding to wait for them and maybe use Slowpoke as bait as mean as it seemed to Roll at the time.
"Oh it all started 2 weeks ago…" Slowpoke started as Mimi slumped her shoulders. He sure was slow alright…
They were waiting for a while. Mimi was getting a bit bored of waiting and just laying on the grass, but Roll was at least distracted by talking with Slowpoke, especially seeing with her own eyes on how his tail grew back.
Mimi looked at the position of the sun and saw it was getting late. "At this rate we will have to leave soon or mom and dad will get worried sick," she said to herself. But as she was gonna give up and tell Roll it was time to head home she heard her shriek making her jump.
Back with Roll and Slowpoke they were ambushed by a big fat Makuhita, who was grinning at them both. "Well, well, well, seems my favourite snack is back and with dessert as well," he said making Roll jump at that comment.
"Hey man, there is no need for that," Slowpoke slowly said. Very slowly.
"Shut it, time for my dinner," Makuhita said and was about to grab them both before he was suddenly hit by something fast in the face, making him stumble backwards. "What the?" he said before he saw Mimi glaring at him.
"Hands off my sister, you creep," she said to him in a battle stance.
Makuhita chuckled seeing the shiny Buneary. "Another one? This day is getting better and bett- AH!" He was suddenly zapped by Mimi with her thunderbolt. "Ok no more mister nice guy," he said as he powered up a force palm at her while Mimi countered with a quick attack, making an explosion on contact.
Roll wanted to use this window to get Slowpoke to safety while Makuhita was distracted. "C'mon Slowpoke we need to get moving," Roll urged him to go faster.
"I am going... as fast…. as I…. can…" he said moving at breakneck speed. For a Slowpoke.
Back with Mimi she was still fighting and catching her breath. Finally she was experiencing what her father told stories about and she was even more excited than she thought she would be, as her heart pounded and adrenaline pumped through her veins. "Now I truly know how you felt, dad," she thought to herself as she saw the Makuhita brush off some leftover ice off himself caused by her ice beam.
He grunted. "Not bad for a little bunny, but this is where it ends," he said and rushed towards her fast. Mimi quickly reacted by using her bounce move, flying high in the air.
Mimi was high in the air. "This should finish him off," she said to herself until she realised she used too much power and it was taking too long for her to land.
Makuhita chuckled evilly and saw Roll trying to get Slowpoke. "Oh, you're not going anywhere. That tail is mine!" he yelled as he ran towards the two.
Mimi saw what was happening and gasped. "Oh no, Roll!" she said. Thankfully gravity was taking effect and Mimi started nose diving directly towards them to reach them as fast as possible.
Back on the ground, Roll was still smiling at Slowpoke. "Don't worry, you are doing great," she said to him when her ear twitched and saw a fast approaching fat fighting type.
"You're mine!" he said as on instinct Roll got between him and Slowpoke and extended both her ears to block him.
Mimi saw what was happening. "Roll!" she screamed and got into a tighter position to minimise drag. Slowpoke watched Roll struggling against the weight of Makuhita as he was slowly penetrating her defences.
"Oh Arceus…" he said to himself as he was then blinded as Roll started glowing.
Slowpoke watched in awe as Roll's body grew taller and longer, her ears that were blocking Makuhita also growing and with newfound strength Roll managed to push Makuhita off herself.
Makuhita recomposed himself as he was then surprised by the sight of a Lopunny. "Hot damn!" he said as he then felt something above him.
"Take this!" Mimi said, crashing full force against Makuhita with her feet finally finishing off her bounce attack.
The dust settled and Mimi jumped back from it as it revealed a fainted Makuhita. "Yes!" Mimi said to herself.
She then yelped as she was suddenly scooped up by her sister who hugged her tightly. "Oh my Arceus, Mimi, you did it!" Roll beamed hugging her and congratulating her.
Mimi took a while before realising who this random Lopunny hugging her was. "Oh Arceus, Roll, you evolved?" she asked.
Roll blinked. "Oh, I guess I did… Explains why everything looked smaller so suddenly…" she said as she put her sister down.
Soon a lot of Pokemon came running towards them. "We heard explosions you ok?" the Mankey from before asked before seeing the fainted Makuhita. "Oh," he just said. "We will take care of that guy," he finished off before they dragged the large fighting type to somewhere else.
What they were going to do with him Mimi didn't want to ask.
Later the two sisters were back with Slowpoke who couldn't stop thanking them for their work. Mimi was scratching the back of her head being bashful, while Roll happily scratched Slowpoke's head. "Well I hope that now this will deter people from messing with you again," Mimi said proudly with her arms on her hips.
Roll nodded in agreement before a clamping snap sound made them jump as the Shellder they saw first grabbed Slowpoke's tail.
"Hey!" the two sisters said followed by a delayed "Ow," from Slowpoke.
"Relax, I just wanted to see what is so special about this tail… Oh-" he said as he and Slowpoke started glowing. Both bunnies shielded their eyes before the light died down, revealing Slowpoke evolved into a Slowbro. Both were shocked at what just happened.
"Oh, wow, this is delicious…" they heard from Shellder, who seemed to also grow in size on his tail.
Mimi blinked. "Well, that should help save him from others trying to get his tail, I guess…" she said before remembering their parents were gonna be in for quite the surprise with an evolved Roll coming home. So they said their goodbyes and ran towards home as it was getting late.
On the way home Roll couldn't shut up about how cute Slowpoke was, completely ignoring the fact she evolved as well, and to no one's surprise, once home, their parents were floored when they saw Roll's evolved form. Pikachu almost fainted.
Once Buneary helped him regain his senses, the bunnies told them the day they had. Mimi couldn't stop talking about the battle she had and Roll gushed over Slowpoke and his evolution.
Pikachu chuckled. "Seems you two had quite the adventure, huh?" he said, patting Mimi's head. "Good job on that battle, wish I could have seen it," he said, grinning wide.
Mimi blushed at the compliment before Buneary, her mother, coughed to get their attention. "Me and your father wanted to ask you two something when you got home," she said. Both sisters nodded, signalling her to go on. This time it was their turn to blush red when Buneary said, "How would you feel about having a little brother?" she asked them, smiling shyly as PIkachu wrapped his arm around her.
Mimi's jaw dropped to the floor hearing that while Roll clapped her hands together. "Oh having a little brother sounds so exciting," she said.
Mimi had to blink a couple of times before thinking, "OH C'MON, WE WERE GONE FOR ONLY A DAY!" her mind screamed as she could only imagine how her parents had their own little "adventure" while they were away.
Mimi mentally sighed. "He better be a Pichu…" was her last thought before heading to bed. That battle exhausted her.
