Chapter 47: Sleepover
Star deicides one day to have a sleep over with the girls of class and of course Pony Head as she was her best friend.
They were doing some make overs at the moment.
"This is so much fun!" said Mina.
"I know!" said Pony Head.
"And it's about to get even better!" said Star.
She lifted her wand to show it was being used like an egg timer.
They followed her to her kitchen and she pulled out brownies.
"I made brownies! It's the first time I'm making them!" Star said with pride in her voice.
They all tried the brownies and cringed while eating them.
"The springles are actually made of magic." Said Star.
"Yeah! These are so good." Said Ochaco.
"Delicious!" said Mina.
"Totally the best!" said Pony Head.
Tsuyu was about to say something but Momo and Mina gave her a look.
"Don't say anything." Said Kyoka.
Tsuyu nodded.
Momo began to slowly eat the rest.
Pony Head looked at her.
"I need to eat a lot for my quirk." Said Momo.
"Whatever." Muttered Pony Head.
"All right! What's next!" said Mina.
"I got some real fun!" said Pony Head, "And I got the perfect game for that!"
They all went to Star's bedroom, where Pony Head revealed a box.
"Truth or Punishments." Said Pony Head, "It's a game where you tell your friends, your deepest darkest secrets."
They all looked at each other.
"Maybe not the worst secrets hopefully." Said Ochaco
"Oh lighten up Floaty Turd." Said Pony Head.
It was clear while some of them were unsure hopefully it wouldn't be too bad.
Pony Head used her years to turn off the light and then stuck her tongue on it which activated it. It started to glow and float.
"Deceit and fables, lies and fiction, even with complete conviction. The truth is absent from these events all will face the punishments."
They looked at the box.
"What does that mean?" asked Mina.
"I think it means if we lie to it we'll be punished." Said Momo.
The box open up a slot on its top.
"Pledge and oath of truth. Pinky swear to me." Said the box.
"Okay." Said Star placing her pinky in the box, "Promise to tell the truth."
All of them placed their pony into the slot and agreed "I promise" though Pony Head had to use her tongue.
The box closed.
"Now for the first question." Said the box.
There was a pause .
"What is your…" said the Box, "Favorite color?"
Everyone was surprised by the question, after all it wasn't something they expected.
They all looked at Pony Head.
"I'm sure the questions would get harder, like if you ever killed a man." Said Pony Head who then realized, "Wait… that's an easy one…"
There was an awkward silence after she admitted it.
"Did she just imply…" said Momo.
"She was in princess jail…" said Ochaco.
"Well I like yellow." Said Star.
"Pink for me." Said Ochaco.
"Same!" said Mina.
"Wait… does it have to be the exact shade or can you just say something generalized." Said Momo.
The box sighed.
"It can be generalized." Sighed the box, "I also count violet and purple as the same color."
Everyone was confused by that last part and shrugged it off.
"Red." Answered Momo.
"Pony Head Color!" said Pony Head.
"That's not a color." Said Kyoka.
"Yeah it is!" said Pony Head.
"It's really popular in Mewni." Said Star.
"Green." Answered Tsuyu.
"Purple." Answered Kyoka.
"All correct." Said the box.
"Wait… do you get people who lie about their favorite color?" asked Star.
"Maybe it' has to do with stereotypes or trying to cool." said Tsuyu.
"That does make sense." Said Mina.
That was when the cube started to float and suddenly the entire room was suddenly engulfed by a mechanic that looked like the cube.
"What?" asked Mina.
"It like we're the game." Said Momo.
"Where did you even get this thing?" asked Kyoka.
"That's not important!" said Pony Head.
"Now for the second question." Said the cube.
Everyone was ready for the next question knowing it would be harder than the last.
"What did you really think of Star's brownies?" asked the box.
Things got awkwardly quiet.
"Everyone loved my brownies." Said Star.
"Yeah… they were watch ma call it… good." Said Pony Head.
"They were good…" said Ochaco.
"Very good..." said Mina.
"Very tasty!" said Momo.
And that was when Momo's face started to.
And she wasn't the only one mutating… everyone in the room started to horribly mutate.
"What's happening to us!" said Star.
"Someone is lying. When you lie! This is what you look like on the inside." Said the Cube prodding a mirror to show how horrifying they looked now.
"Who's lying!" yelled Star.
"Everyone." Answered Tsuyu as she was one of the who wanted to come clean earlier.
"Yeah…" sighed Kyoka being the other.
"They're right! It's awful." Said Ochaco.
"I'm sorry but it's true." Sighed Mina.
"I'm sorry I gave you false hope for eating them all." Sighed Momo.
"If I had a stomach it would be sick right now." Said Pony Head.
"Truth!" said the cube.
Everyone returned to normal.
"Okay I'm sorry I brought this stupid game! Let's all go to the bounce lounge instead." Said Pony Head.
Everyone agreed and they headed to a door labeled exit.
However it extended away and pushed them back to the centered of the room.
"No leaves until you answer the final. Question." Said the Box.
"Are you kidding me!" said Kyoka.
"Looks we're going to have to answer." Sighed Momo.
Everyone k new that Momo was right.
"Who do you have a crush on?" asked the box.
They were all surprised by the question.
"Okay! We can do this." Said Mina.
It was easy for her due to dating someone.
"Okay… I'm going to vulnerable for a minute and come out with the truth… I'm in love with myself…" sighed Pony Head.
Everyone started at the flying unicorn head unsure what to say.
"You know I don't know why we're all surprised." Said Tsuyu.
"Tom… of course." Said Mina.
"Oooh!" said Pony Head.
"Did I not tell you that Mina is dating Tom?" asked Star.
"No!" said Pony Head.
"Gossip later!" scolded the box./
Kyoka sighed.
"I have to say it. Don't I?" asked Kyoka.
"You do…" said the box.
She once again groaned.
"Kaminari." Said Kyoka.
Everyone looked at her surprised… but there was always a back and forth in-between the two…
"You know what… I can see that." Said Star.
"Totally…" said Mina.
"Don't you dare do anything!" yelled Kyoka.
"Honestly I don't have one." Said Momo, "I've been so focused on school plus there are more important things to worry about."
"Seriously!" said Mina.
"She's got a point… I've been so focused on learning to be a hero that no one's interested me." Said Tsuyu.
"I know…" said Ochaco.
"Plus none of the boys I've seen in school seem to be my type." Said Star, "So no crush for me either."
"Especially since your ex has moved on." Said Pony Head.
"Pony Head… I'm okay with them dating.,.." said Star, "In fact I was there when Mina asked to date him…"
"Okay… you totally have to give me the deets." Said Pony.
"ahem…" called out the cube.
They all looked at the cube.
"I needed you all to pay attention to me the cube because you're lying!" yelled the box.
The cube started to crackle with lighting.
"Okay! Which one of your four are lying!" yelled Pony Head, "Because at least one of you four has to have a crush!"
"I don't have one!" yelled Star.
"I've been so focused on school!" said Momo.
That was when the cube shifted into a multifaced monster.
Star knew she had to do.
"Well take this!" yelled Star.
She shot a beam at the now monster, but the spell did nothing.
And what's worse is that that floor started to rise to the scaling, threating to crush Star.
However Tsuyu grabbed Star from the portion.
Only for the part of the floor she was standing on to rise as well.
Thankfully Pony head could fly she started to save them.
All of them tried to dodge the moving walls and floors.
But they soon landed tougher in a pile.
"What did we do to deserve this?" asked Star.
"Lies are like a plague." Said the monster said one mouth.
"A virus." said one of the other mouths.
"A weed." Said the first mouth.
"And to stop a weed." Said the second mouth.
"You must kill the roots." Said the other.
"Then why did you bring up violet and purple?" asked Star.
"What?" asked the two faces.
"I mean… I don't get why you did… but there must be a difference that most people don't know about… and sometimes people don't know things about themselves so they're no lying!" said Star, "And not to mention people change! Someone ask me what's my favorite color!"
"What's your favorite color!" called out Ochaco.
"Right now… blue!" said Star.
That was when the room turned green.
"What no! You can't change!" said the monster.
"You think in black and white." Said Star, "But people are complex… and sometime they don't know what they want an things can change all the time… it's all a complicated rainbow."
It was clear the monster was in pain as Star dropped the logic bomb.
And soon it turned to being a cube one that was broken.
"Okay… if we do this again… Pony Head can never bring over another game." Said Mina.
"You know what…" said Pony Head, "That is completely fair!"
The next morning everyone was completely exhausted from the night and the cube was thrown into the trash.
"See at school tomorrow!" called out Star.
As they left, Star's mirror started to ring.
She saw the number and answered it.
"Hey Tenya!" she answered, "You're seriously calling about last night's sleep over?"
"Well I wanted to make sure that Pony Head didn't cause so many problems." He responded.
"You doing t' want to know.." sighed Star.
Little did she know that the cube had come to life in the trash.
"Truth… Star has a crush on Tenya…" said the cube which became even more busted.
And it was indeed true… Star had to yet to realize she had a crush on her stern and serious friend…
