Chapter 6

I don't own the Mass Effect franchise or any movie or game referenced here

Azin Jin I think Liara is attractive but she has an innocent school/girl next door vibe while Vetra had this bad/tough girl wearing a leather jacket vibe that hid some inner softness. Would a human ever do with a turian/alien in real life? I'm leaning towards no also I will admit that I've looked at Vetra in youtube videos and she wasn't as attractive as I remember, but Garrus didn't fall for Shepard (in some play throughs) because she was human, he was still very attracted to his own species. He fell in love with her because of who she was I'm going to do the same here. Also, I've just realised/remembered that he also saved Ash and is about to help Tali and this female turian. While ash is not going to be an option tali might want to throw her hat in the ring and three girls will have some interest in callum. Not going to have a three way relationship though because it doesn't seem like something the characters would do, I also find it to be questionable and unsustainable also tali would have to be quite tipsy at the time. And now to put you out of your misery

Story Start

When a male turian turned up and started talking to Tali and the female turian I started walking forward, staggering slightly like I was drunk. Soon I was close enough to hear what they were talking about.

"I don't like this, the deals off." said Tali, slapping the male turians wandering talons away

"I don't think..." started the male turian, grabbing Tali's upper arm forcefully which got a reaction from the female turian

But before anything else happened I interrupted

"HHeeyyy girls!" I said drunkenly "How about you ditch this looserrrr and come with me ehhh?"

A look of disgust and anger flashed over the male turians face "Listen pal, how about you get lost while you still can?" he said warningly

Ignoring him I continued walking closer to them, keeping a drunken smirk on my face and my eyes on Tali and the female turian

"Hey! Didn't you hear me? I said..." and that's when I moved.

The second I was close enough I dropped the alcohol container, sending it clattering to the ground and activated my omni-blade and pushed it against his neck.

"And I think you need to learn how to treat women with respect. How about you go back to your mother and ask how that's done?" I shot

Letting go of Tali who quickly retreats, the male turian puts his hands up "Hey now, how about we just talk about this?"

"How about you just walk away?" I asked, knowing he would never do that

"Sure, I'll do that. No problem, this was all a...NOW!" shouted the turian suddenly as he pushed my hand away and dove into cover.

Behind him the two salarians opened fire, luckily for me I'd already created the standard biotic barrier around myself when the turian pushed my hand away. I returned that fire with a shockwave that slammed them into the wall behind them, before anyone else could start shooting at me I ducked behind two crates stacked up on top of each other. On the other side of the corridor was Tali and the female turian crouching behind a single crate. Tali with a shotgun, the female turian with an assault rifle and a holstered pistol.

"Hey, I don't suppose one of you has a weapon I could use?" I ask

Giving me a look, the female turian quickly comes to a decision and throws me her unused pistol. Catching it I open fire at the male turian as I had the better angle between everyone. Behind me, I hear the roar and telltale sounds of a charging krogan, looking behind me I expect to see Wrex charging forward with Shepard and the others behind him. Only it wasn't Wrex and he was charging straight at me. 'Shit!'

Within seconds the unknown krogan had closed the distance. Knowing full well I had no chance against an armoured krogan at close distance, especially without my armour I released a throw, but not at the krogan, at the wall near me. Since the wall couldn't move I was thrown back instead and landed on the ground behind the girls due to newton's laws and just in time too, the krogan hit the crates where I just was at full speed, sending them flying and denting the shit out of them. Shaking his head the krogan gave me a bloodthirsty grin and started towards us.

"Shit!" I quickly performed a stasis, problem was stasis was easily my weakest ability and while it didn't fail it didn't exactly stop the krogan from coming towards us, abet at a much slower rate. It was like he was forcing his way through thick syrup. I open fire but I was afraid that if Tali and the female turian didn't finish up soon then the krogan would reach me long before I could take him out. And from his grin the krogan knew it to, he also seemed to know that he didn't need to reach me to kill me as he unfolded his shotgun.

Thankfully before he could start shooting he himself came under fire from further up the corridor, dropping his shields and peppering his body with wounds before a sniper round when through his skull. Seconds later I drop the stasis and the krogan's body dropped like a marionette with cut strings. Turning to face where the shots had come from I see Shepard, Kaiden, Ash and

"Garrus?" for a second I thought I fucked up again before realizing that the name came from the female turian near me and not myself

"Solana?" asked Garrus, equally surprised

"Who's she?" asked Shepard

"She's...she's my sister commander." said Garrus "Solana, what are you doing here?"

"Apparently doing the C-Secs job for them." shot Solana

"You know what I mean." answered Garrus "Last I heard you were still on Palaven working in the military police section, did you quit your job or something?"

"Well I decided I needed a change so..." started Solana

"Sorry to interrupt this family squabble but I'm looking for evidence against Saren, I hear you might have some?" asked Shepard

"Yes, I was going to trade it to the Shadow Broker in exchange for protection but we all saw how that ended." said Tali "I'll give it to but only if we get somewhere safe first."

"Fist doesn't work for the Shadow Broker, he works for Saren." informed Garrus

"No wonder his men tried to kill us." said Tali

"Not that the Shadow Broker wouldn't have killed you if it suited him. He's literally called the Shadow Broker, you don't get that sort of name for being nice. He's probably had people killed before to keep or get information." I said

"...That's dark, as for safe the embassy should be suitable, Udina needs to hear this after all. Also, how did you end up here? I thought about bringing you in for this but I realised it would take too long for you to gear up." said Shepard as we started to head towards the Presidium

"I was just in the area and saw a sleazeball of a turian and decided to step in. After that, it just went downhill." I answered "Also thanks for letting me use your pistol." I added handing Solana back her pistol

"Your welcome, thanks for helping. I lot of people would have just walked away, especially when they were unarmed like you were." said Solana

"It's nothing really, I saw a chance where I could help out so I did." I said

"I can't tell if your unlucky and keep getting stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time or just lucky." said Shepard

"Ehh, so I'm guessing either ither. Also, I take it this means that the council meeting didn't go so well?" I ask

"No, they pretty much dismissed everything. Said the message written in blood could have meant anything but when Saren admitted all Nihlius's files had been transferred to him Udina grabbed on like a varren onto steak and tore into the council and just when the council thought things were going their way again Udina pulls out the big guns and demands that they tell us how many hours were actually spent looking for evidence. Of course, they said that wasn't relevant and C-sec had done all they could but thanks to this guy." said Shepard pointing at Garrus "We knew that was shit. Long story short, we embarrassed the Council in front of everyone and forced them to keep the case open."

"Probably lost my job though." said Garrus, not sounding really that concerned "Hell of a way to go though, there can't be that many cops who got fired because they showed off the councils dirty laundry after all."

"Sorry about that." said Shepard as they continued to walk

"Don't worry about it commander it was the right call, Saren was guilty and the council wasn't even looking into it properly. The fact that we just found the evidence just tells me I made the right choice."

"Speaking of evidence, what evidence do you actually have miss?" asked Shepard, glancing back at Tali

"It's an audio file I recovered proving Sarens involvement, also it's Tali, Tali'Zorah nar Rayya." answered Tali

"that's a long name." said Kaiden before trying to repeat it "Tali..."

"Tali'Zorah nar Rayya." I repeated "Tali is her first name, Zorah her family name, the nar means she hasn't completed her pilgrimage and Rayya was the ship she was born on."

"Wow...you certainly know a lot about guardians." said Tali nervously poking her fingers together "But nar means child of, not that I haven't been on my pilgrimage. But I can see how you could have gotten confused."

"Sorry, I mainly just know the basics. Heavy fleet, civilian fleet, admiralty board, lifeships, what keelah se'lai means. Just stuff you can find on the extranet." I said

"It's fine...also thanks for coming to help us." said Tali "I don't think we could have been able to make it through if you didn't turn up."

"I agree, we could have dealt with the salarians and that turian but not that krogan at the same time." said Solana

"I recognised him, he worked for Fist as a bouncer. I was wondering why we didn't run into him when we raided his bar, Fist must have sent him here as insurance." said Garrus

We continued small talk, mainly about what each of us had done in the previous hours. Shepard went over the council meeting in better detail, telling us she went to Chora's den to find Garrus, ran into the consort's general then went to the med clinic. Tali said she came to the Citidel with another quarian trying to give some important information to the Council but was ambushed before they could, Tali got shot in the stomach and her friend nearly died before Solana showed up. While Tali was luring the hitman away Solana was busy saving the mortally wounded quarian who they left with and was hidden by Dr Michel when Fist's goons broke into her clinic and started harrasing her. Tali also explained that a pilgrimage was and how important it was.

Eventually, we reached the Presidium and the Embassies, Kaiden had suggested we take skycar to get there faster but Garrus argued it would be safer to walk just in case Sarren or his men had any more surprises. Eventually, we walked into Udina's office with him overlooking the Presidium

"You're not making my life easy Commander, a full out assault on a stripper's bar, gunfights in the wards, do you think that this is some sort of vid?" said Udina turning around "Private please tell me you weren't involved with this fiasco."

"Actually all I did was stop a turian from assaulting these fine lady's." this caused Solana to release a snort "he took exception to that so he and his friends opened fire on us, also at that time I was completely unarmed. And as I understand the commander was working with a C-Sec agent to rescue a possibly kidnapped quarian." I responded

"That's one way you can spin it. I'm assuming though that there is more to this story?" asked Udina

"Yes, Tali'Zorah here has an audio file for us." offered Shepard "She says it will prove Saren's guilt."

"And how did she come across this evidence?" asked Udina

"I was heading out for my pilgrimage when the ship we were on detected geth activity, I conviced the captain to land and we waited until one of the geth units had become isolated, we then disabled it and took it's memory core." said Tali

"Hold on, I thought geth fry that when they die as a defence mechanism." interrupted Anderson

"They do, but if your quick and know what your doing you can save bits and pieces which is what happened. A little luck also doesn't hurt."

"In that case, please play the audio file Miss Zorah." said Udina

"Of course." said Tali before playing with her omni-tool

"Eden Prime was a major victory and thanks to the beacon we're one step closer to fining the conduit."

"That's Saren! I'd recognize that voice anywhere!" exclaimed Anderson

"We've got him." agreed Shepard "There's no way the council can ignore this."

"Hold on there's more." said Tali before resuming the recording "And one step closer to the return of the Reapers." said another voice

"I don't recognize the other voice." said Udina

"Me neither." agreed Anderson "But whoever it was knows more than we do, Reapers was one of the words spoken by Shepard after the beacon knocked her out."

"Do we at least know what species the second voice belongs to?" I ask

"Asari, I ran the translator and it identified the languages as turian and asari." answered Tali

"I'll inform the council right away." said Udina

"What about Tali?" asked Shepard

"Take me with you, you'll be going up against geth and who knows the geth better than the quarians?" asked Talj

"But what about your pilgrimage? You said it was important to you and your people?" asked Shepard

"The pilgrimage is all about proving what we can do for the greater community, that we can think of others before ourselves. That we won't be a burden to others. What will it say about me if I walk away now?" argued Tali

"And what about your fellow quarian that's still in medical care?" asked Garrus "What about him?"

"When he has recovered I'll see to it that he safely makes it back to the quarian Fleet." said Udina

"T-thank you." said Tali gratefully

"Call it payment for the audio. Also, Commander I'll believe you should take her up on her offer. Her skills would come in handy dealing with the geth." said Udina

"I'd like to come to." said Garrus and Solana at once before shooting each other annoyed looks

"As I said before the council's and my superiors at C-Sec aren't going to that I shared information about an ongoing investigation. I'm liking going to face suspension at best and I'd rather do something useful with my time than sit around doing nothing." said Garrus

"And you?" asked Shepard to Solana

"Someone needs to keep an eye on my brother so he doesn't do anything stupid. Also turians are raised with a strong sense of duty, Saren has a geth army and is running around wiping out colonies, like Tali here I can't walk away now without at least offering to help. While my brother is may be a great sniper and marksman I'm much better at CQC than he is, we can cover each other's weaknesses." said Solana

"...fine, we left most of the Normandy's marines on Eden Prime, so if Captain Andersons fine with it then welcome aboard." answered Shepard

"It's your ground team not mine. As long as they behave professionally than they'll be welcome aboard." said Anderson "But we need to find more about these Reapers and what this Conduit is."

"Well according to the geth the Reapers were a machine race that existed 50,000 years ago."

"Hmmm Reapers, I'm not to sure how accurate my translation software is but The Grim Reaper was a embodiment of death that would harvest human souls. He was either seen as evil or simply a part of nature." I said getting a look from Anderson, Shepard and Udina "What?"

"Reapers just one word that Shepard said, the other was harvest." said Anderson gravely

"But a 50,000 old machine race? It's preposterous." said Udina, though not as strongly as he would have liked

"The Citadel and the Relay's survived that long, remember it's synthetic not organic so time would affect it differently, execially if their is some sort of maintaince protocol involved. Also, synthetics can be rebuilt, you can say that all computers or guns from 200-300 years ago are gone but that doesn't mean if you don't have the schematics you can't rebuild them or bring them back." I said

"So the Conduit could be a weapon or someway to bring the Reapers back." thought Anderson out loud

"Hmm, Anderson and I will go ahead to get things ready with the Council. Shepard, take a few moments for yourself and follow us with Miss Zorah, Chief Williams and Lutienant rest of you can use the time how you see fit, just make sure you are ready to leave on short notice." said Udina

"Actually Callum as you lack any suitable daywear, your uniform will, of course, be provided but I suggest you use this time to get any other nesecarites that you need, the Normandy also lacks any levo-dextro food stocks aside from emergency rations that were put in there as an afterthought so I'm going need Garrus and?" asked Anderson

"Solana Vakarian." answered Solana

"To go and pick enough food to last them and Tali for a month, here's what you need to send Normandy the bill." said Anderson sending them what they needed with his omni-tool before leaving with Udina

After that everyone went their own way, Solana saying she needed to make sure her brother didn't buy the rubbish cheap stuff, to which he replied food was food and was best to spend credits wisely, to which she shot back food was supposed to be edible. So what if it was cheap, if you couldn't it then it was useless. They continued to squabble long after they were out of earshot. I myself headed back to the wards to pick up a gun that was hopefully ready or near to it. On the way their I stopped at a few shops to buy a duffel bag that they insisted was regulation, underwear, socks, toothbrush, 1 casual shirt and pants etc. When I had finished much of the bag was still empty but that was probably a good thing as I wasn't sure that the first store clerk was telling the truth. After I got everything and stopped to buy a snack I arrived to pick up my gun, the desk was empty but a bell must have gone off in the back because as soon as I stepped through the doorway Yarrick popped his head out.

"You're here, we're just finishing up some calibrations if you want to come out back." said Yarrick ducking back out of sight but leaving the door open

Following him I came to what was obviously there work shop, full of bits and pieces, spare parts, half-assembled guns and armour. Yarrick was bent over a work bench with what was probably my pistol while his wife fiddled with her omni tool. Off to a side was what looked to be a small, fully enclosed gun range.

"Here it is." said Yarrick showing me my new gun

My first thought was that it looked completely different to every other Mass Effect gun I'd ever seen, in this reality or the other one. It looked much more like a block of metal attached to a handle, it was thick long and not much to look at. It was roughly 30 cm long, a bit over 5cm wide and the barrel looked to be nearly 10cm high if not more.

"Talk me through it." I said, moving it around in my hands. It had a good heff to it, not to heavy but heavy enough to feel solid

"Okay, we were able to squeeze four of the removable into the gun, two at the top and two on the bottom, it's why the guns so thick. Those were wired to receive the heat from the mass accelerator, once there the heat will go to a number of heat sinks that I've mainly placed at the end of the barrel. Word of advice? Be very careful touching that end after firing even after you think its had enough time to cool as this thing bleeds heat and goes through ammo like nothing I've seen. It's good, no doubt about it and Sheita and I are already working on revised designs based on it that produces less heat and metal waste. We would have done it for your gun but you said you needed it as soon as possible so we didn't think there was enough time to do much more fiddling and the last thing we wanted was to make a mistake we wouldn't have time to fix. Next time you're on the Citadel come in and we'll see what we can do to improve your gun. After we have a good balance between heat, metal usage and damage we'll sell them to the Turian Hierarchy, System's Alliance and the Quarian heavy fleet. Also, while we're on the topic me and my wife were talking and hope that we could co-share the patient three ways? I know it was your idea and you're the one that brought in these new heat sinks but it was us that made it work." said Yarrick hopefully

"...fine, but I want them to be sold first to the previous armies and not too expensive. After that they can be sold to the asari, other races armies and general public at higher prices." I said

"I have the feeling that you don't like the asari." said Yarrick

"It's not that I dislike the asari as people, I dislike the asari as a government. They seem to care too much about the long term and not enough about the short term. Also if a geth war did break out who do you think would be amongst the first to fight them?" I ask

"Good point, anyway the removable, well not so removable now, heat sinks were then covered in a mix of highly conductive metals to absorbe as much heat as quickly as possible and cool just as quickly, it should take 5-8 seconds to cool after completely overheating."

"And what about this dial and why are their two-barrel holes?" I ask

"You asked for a large number of possible settings and I wasn't sure just how good you were at operating your omni-tool mid fight. So I thought instead of having to fiddle around with your omni-tool a simple dial would be much simpler and safer. The first setting is small, it''s still three times larger than most grain sizes used in similar weapons however and it will shoot automatically when you hold down the trigger. Then you have a slightly larger grain size that is shot in a three-round burst, after that, you get into the semi-automatic fire modes, of which there are three and all have significantly larger projectile sizes...much larger, up to the size of an old pen nib in fact. With the lightest of these semi-automatic fires you could get 21-30 shots before over heating depending on your firing rate, that then goes down to the 12-18 mark and then further to the point you'll only get 6 to 8 shots. As usual how close the weapon is to being overheated will be displayed on your HUD and on the weapon itself. Now the reason why their are two barrels is that all the mods you and I wanted to put in wouldn't fit or operate properly with only one barrel so I added a second one to be used exclusively for that 1 shot you wanted with the hyper rail. It's virtually the same as the barrel that you'll use most of the time except it has the hyper rail, not the scram rail and will shoot an even larger projectile. To switch over to the second barrel you cock the hammer and the next shot will be from the hyper rail...I got the idea from those old revolvers you had on earth. After that it will overheat and immediately switch to back to standard fire, I figured you weren't likely to fire 1 shot after 1 shot. These settings can be altered, adjusted or removed via use of your omni-tool. So if you decide you don't like the full auto mode I've added you can get rid off it or if you wish to have the three-burst mode shoot a larger projectile you can."

"Is that what Sheita's doing?" I ask

"Yes, we're using a VI program that we personally designed for our guns and customizing it further. It will record all data genearated by the gun, how much heat is generated, how long it takes to cool, sharving sizes and your shooting preferences which hopefully allow you get a little more extra out of it as it calibrates itself to your preferences and will cut down on any wasted material from each shot. You'll still need to bring it back in to us for a full overhaul though but this will help in the short term. The data will also help us design more models as we see what does and doesn't work. Speaking of the models do have any idea for some good ones? We have a couple ourselves but thought it would be a good idea to ask you to see if you have anymore." said Yarrick

"...I can think of a couple, most people use pistols as a secondary, biotic and combat engines tend to use them as their main choice or weapon as their easier to hold with just one hand than a shotgun or assault rifle. How about two pistols one with the stopping power and performance of an assault riffle and the other a shotgun?" I asked thinking of one of the best pistols the N7 eagle

"I thought of a pistol that can act as an assault rifle, I'm not the first to think of it but there's always been some problem making it though such as somehow getting the power and firing rate without overheating too quickly and dealing with the recoil. Thanks to the removable heat sinks the overheating problem is sorted but while your pistol can shoot automatically it's not at the rate of fire you need for an assault rifle as it just isn't suited for it as the barrels much too long and you can't hold the barrel to steady it against the recoil as if it opens up you'll end up with burns." said Yarrick

"Well how about disabling the auto venting and making it manual so they know to put their hand away. Alternatively, you could keep the heat sinks removable, cover a part of them in some form of insulation and have them drop out when full so another one can be inserted, keeping the normal heat sinks to extend the number of shots and cool it when out of combat. And the insulator will allow you to pick up and store the expelled heat sink when given the opportunity." I said

"I don't know, it sounds like it might be a step back. Also we need a different name for the removable heat sinks to avoid confusion, how about heat banks for the ones that stay internal and if we make any ones that are still removable we call them heat clips?" suggested Yarrick "Any other ideas?"

"I really like the variable projectile size, how about some sort of designated marksman rifle? Closer than a sniper performs best at but outside the effective range of a assult rifle? The varing projectile will allow them to use small grains to deal with light armoured targets but for heavy ones they can ramp it up." this was actually a good idea, someone could use the small pellets to deal with husks but if a heavier target like a ravanger or even worse a brute they will actually be able to harm them. It would also save metal when it wasn't needed and use more when it was.

"That could be hard. With a single grain size the VI can produce the best results with the smallest amount of waste, having multiple projectile sizes means that each time you switch the vi has to get used to it if you will and until it does that it will use more than it actually needs to. If can redesign our VI with data from your gun we can cut down on that waste." said Yarrick

"Okay my last two ideas would be an assault rifle with a 2 or 3 round burst that's a lot heavier than standard assault rifle fire like boom boom or boom boom boom. It will have multiple heat banks, switching from one to another with each trigger pull and all leading to heat sinks." I said hoping it would lead to the production of something that was like either the n7 Valkryie, the battle rifle from Halo or the Vindicator assault rifle. "The other is a shotgun that has an external and rotating set of heat banks, again all of them transferring heat to normal heat sinks." I finished, describing the n7 Pirana

"Well you gave us a couple of idea's we didn't think of so that's good. Now we just have to workout what works best and work on that first, I'm thinking standard assault rifle and that burst fire you talked about. After that we'll start working on the pistols and marksman rifle." said Yarrick

From there I went and had a practice with my gun using rubber rounds, I didn't much like the full auto mode, it was much slower firing than I thought it would be, I liked the three-round burst though. As for the semi-auto modes however only time would tell which one produced the best results, though if I had to guess it would either be the middle setting or the heaviest.

Exiting the gun range I found Yarrick and Sheita waiting

"So..." asked Yarrick

"It's good, really good you were right about the auto-fire mode but I like the rest of them." I answered

"Good good, now Sheita here has finished working on your VI program." said Yarrick

"I'm guessing my husband has already gone over the details but just in case he missed anything I'll quickly go over it. You can further alter the gun settings such as fire rate, projectile sizes and if its single, burst or auto, but full auto would cause too much recoil when used with the larger projectiles. When ever you use the gun it will record everything, heat generated, what projectile size was used and the kinetic force generated, etc. Using this data I hope that we'll be able to dial in the settings to produce the best and most efficient results without overdoing projectile sizes or heat generated. I also hope that we can use the data generated to get the VI to adapt quicker whenever the projectile size is changed but that will come later. Now the total is...6980 credits, I know it sounds like a lot, especially if we are becoming co-owners of a patient but we put a lot of gear and time into this weapon, the patients not accepted just yet and we'll take a loss if we accept any less." said Sheita seriously

"...okay deal." I said, it was more than I wanted, over half of what I got from the movie script but I think it was worth it. They also seemed quite competent so I could probably count on them making more weapons and armour in the future. Also, thanks to them I possibly had a share in an upcoming patient that could make me some money.

"Good, now as my husband should have told you and hopefully did, this gun will go through ammo blocks like you won't believe. While it shouldn't run out halfway through a mission unless you are constantly using the hyper rail I would still recommend bringing spare ammo blocks in case you get stranded or need to survive on your own. Most guns ammo blocks will last at least around a month to close to half a year, with this gun you'll be lucky to get anywhere near a month. Even if the VI reduces waste and ammo block usage you have to remember that the projectile sizes are significantly larger than the standard grain size that most guns use. For that reason I suggest you order an excess of ammo blocks." said Sheita

"In that case I'd like...how many blocks are in a small crate?" I asked

"20." answered Yarrick

"A small crate of armour piercing rounds and 6 blocks of rubber ammo so I can practise shooting." I said when in actual fact I'd be using them for the thorian controlled colonists on Feros "Also, I don't suppose you have arrow packs suited for the Crytex Predator bow?"

"No, but we know a shop that does. Pay for it here and we'll arrange it to be sent to the Normandy with the rest of your ammo." said Sheita

As I start heading back to the Precidium my omni-tool gets an alert and a message from Ash that read

"Just finished with Council, Commander's just been made a Spectre, meet at Normandy in 40 minutes."

'It looks everything's really just starting.' I thought to myself, I fully intended to change everything for the better as much as I could, however, I was afraid that something could happen to me that would stop me from altering future events, events that needed to be changed. To solve that I had created a small data disk full of everything I knew just incase I died or was somehow removed from the Normandy, the only problem was where to put it? I needed to be hidden but still easily accessed, almost in answer I heard a squeak as I was passing a small shop. Looking down I only had one thought 'perfect.'

Red and Blue Effect

"Are we there yet?" asked Tucker

"No." said Shepard

"...Are we there yet?" asked Tucker yet again

"No" responded Shepard with gritted teeth

"...Are we..." started Tucker

"I swear to GOD! You ask me that again and I'll nail your face to the floor!" shouted Shepard

"Do you have any nails?" asked Tucker

"No." said Shepard while thinking 'you'd better fucking not'

"In that case are we..." started Tucker

"Hey Commander, I think this is the place." said Kaiden, saving Tucker from a gruesome death

Sure enough, above Kaiden was a sign for the clinic

"Alright lets enter and see if Dr Michael knows where Garrus is." said Shepard

Entering the clinic a standard thug immediately held a woman who was obviously Dr Michael hostage while Garrus hide out of sight behind a table

'Oh just fuck me.'

A short but chaotic firefight later the Doctor was finally safe.

"You okay Doctor?" asked Shepard

"Yes thanks to everyone commander." answered Dr Michael

"Why were Fist's mean threatening you?" asked Garrus

"They wanted me to keep quiet about the female quarian that came by earlier with a human that had armour similar to those guys." said Dr Michael, point at Red and Blue team (aka Tucker, Griff and Sarge) "she wanted to get into contact with the Shadow broker so I sent her to meet Fist."

"Fist doesn't work for the Shadow Broker he..." started Garrus

"Hold on, this guy that looked like us...what colour armour was he wearing?" asked Tucker

"Blue." responded Dr Michael

"Blue Blue or light blue?" asked Sarge

"Blue blue I guess?"

"Okay if you want her alive we should go now." said Tucker leaving the room

"But why? He seemed quite eager to help?" asked Dr Michael

"Oh trust me, that's the problem!" called back Tucker

Walking quickly back to Chora's den the came underfire immediately after they entered the club, fortunately help came from an unexpected source.

"Hey dick bags! Leave my brother alone!" said a girl who Shepard assumed was Griff's sister, this time she was actually dressed "This is what you get for not giving me those tips you promised!"

After yet another chaotic battle Sarge was able to get Fist to tell them where the quarian was by making a physically impossible threat involving a goose, a duck and a mongoose. Running towards the given location Shepard saw two individuals, one was a quarian and the other was likely another idiot in the midst of being attacked.

"Freckles run command Aimbot!" shouted Tucker, what proceeded as absolute precision, withing moments the blue armoured guy next to the quarian had taken out three combantants.

'finally someone qualified.' thought Shepard relieved

Walking up to the quarian she began to ask her questions before a shot rang out and Tucker dropped to the ground clutching his foot, turning in the direction it came from she saw the blue guy, the same blue guy that just took out three hostiles in seconds holding Garrus's rifle, next to him Garrus stood motionless in shoc, his mandible spread wider than she believed physically possible.

"...Tucker did it."

"I am Tucker you teamkilling fucktard! Who the hell gave him a gun?!" shouted Tucker

"I, he, I...what the spirits is going on here?"

I bet I had you worried, no Garrus isn't a chick, there will be no gender-bending here thank you
