Chapter 8: Jamaica

"Previously on the Ridonculous Race, the teams went to Hungary and had to bring their dancing shoes. The Ice Dancers tried to get into the Daters' heads by making them think they were stepping out on each other. The Mother and Daughter came in last, but luckily the last episode was a non elimination round. What'll happen next? Find out now on...the Ridonculous Race." said Don.

"We're still in Hungary, and the Ice Dancers get first dibs on the next travel tip."

After smiling and waving to their fans, Josee pressed the button on the Don Box, and got the first tip.

"Our next stop is Jamaica." she read.

"Jamaica. Home to beautiful beaches, drums, and it's mentioned in a song from that band 40 years ago. Teams will have to catch the next flight there."

The teams then flagged down some taxis, and rode to the airport. Once they were there, they made a beeline to the front desk. The first plane leaving in a few minutes had twelve seats available.

The teams that managed to get tickets were the Ice Dancers, Fashion Bloggers, Goths, Father and Son, Cops, and the Surfer Dudes.

"Yes, on the first flight." said Dwayne.

"If we play this right, we could come in first again."

"Awesome." cheered Junior.

"As the six teams board their flight, the remaining teams will have to wait another hour for the next flight."

"I can't believe we're going to Jamaica." said Crimson.

"It's such a bummer, I wish we could go back to Transylvania." complained Ennui.

On the plane, the teams relaxed a little as they flew.

"I can't wait to get to Jamaica." said Tom.

"I know, I can't wait to see the fashions." agreed Jen.

"So far, we've got beads from Kenya, sandals from Rome, togas from Athens, those solider hats from London, ponchos from Peru, and poofy dresses from Hungary." Jen listed.

"We're adding them all to our blog." added Tom.

Back at the airport, the others were hanging out by the gate. "So you weren't flirting with any girls back in Hungary?" asked Stephanie. "Nope, and no guys were flirting with you?" Ryan questioned back.

"Of course not." The two then smiled at each other.

"Those Ice Dancers, and they're dirty playing." said Stephanie.

"We're not gonna let our relationship get torn apart again." added Ryan.

"I hope my asthma doesn't act up too much switching from climate to climate." hoped Mickey, as he took a dose of his inhaler.

"Don't worry, Mickey." assured Jay.

"I brought extras."

The Geniuses were looking at their books.

"We're studying up on Jamaica." explained Mary.

"That way we can stay in the contest longer." added Ellody.

Emma and Noah were cuddling and flirting with each other. Kitty was on her phone, Owen was eating some snacks, and the new couple were watching videos on Carrie's phone.

Meanwhile, the plane had just landed in Jamaica. The teams raced off the plane, out of the airport, and to the Don Box. The Surfer Dudes managed to get there first. Brody pressed the button, and got the first tip.

"Catch the next bus to the Green Grotto Caves." he read.

"Let's go dude." said Geoff.

And the teams hurried to the bus stop, and waited. Back in Hungary, the next plane arrived and the remaining teams boarded.

"Going back to Jamaica reminds me of being on Total Drama World Tour." Owen mentioned.

"Yeah, I have those nightmares too." Noah replied.

"Makes me wonder what Izzy's doing right now."

In Jamaica, the bus arrived, and the teams boarded. The Ice Dancers grabbed the front seats, and all the others got behind them.

"This way Jacques, we're the first ones off the bus and to the Don Box." said Josee.

"Right, Josee."

The bus took off, and drove them to the Green Grotto Caves. As soon as the bus opened its' doors, the Ice Dancers bolted off. When they got to the Don Box, Jacques pressed the button, and received the first tip.

"It's an either or."

The camera then showed Don in the caves. "For this either or, teams will have the choice of either paddling a boat, or hiking through the caves to get out. Once they reach the exit, they'll meet with this local to get their next tip." Don informed.

And a local Jamaican man appeared next to him.

"Come on, let's grab a boat." declared Josee.

"As some teams choose their challenge, the rest of the teams are now on the plane on the way to Jamaica."

"Oh, I'll bet we get a great tan in Jamaica." said Kelly.

"That's one good thing about still being in the race." replied Taylor.

"I can't wait to get to there." Devin told Carrie.

"Why's that?" Carrie wondered.

"We can see the sunset on the beach, I heard they're really romantic."

Carrie blushed and giggled.

Back in Jamaica, the teams picked their either or in the challenge. The Ice Dancers, Fashion Bloggers, Surfer Dudes, Father and Son, and Cops decided to use boats, while the Goths decided to walk.

"We decided to walk so we could see the bats." said Crimson.

"It reminds me of our first date." added Ennui. "So romantic."

"Come, Jacques, paddle." urged Josee, as she paddled.

"We must come first."

The Ice Dancers paddled fast, but the Cops came up behind them.

"Make way for the police!" shouted MacArthur.

Then Sanders made that siren sound.

"Those annoying cadets." complained Jacques.

"Hey, we're real police now." Sanders remarked.

"As the first group of teams make their way through the caves, the second group have just landed at the airport."

The New Couple got to the Don Box first, and read the tip. After reading it, they and the other teams caught the next bus.

"As the second group makes its' way to the caves, the first group is just finishing up."

"Look there's the exit." said Tom.

"We're almost there." replied Brody.

The Goths saw the exit to, and made their way towards it. The Ice Dancers got out first, and they bolted out.

"First place." cheered Jacques.

They were met with the local, and he gave them their next tip.

"We have to bike to the Chill Zone, and while we do we have to leave a trail of paint in one of the flag's colors." Jacques read.

"Come." Josee declared.

And they hurried off. The next ones to follow were the Cops, Surfer Dudes, Goths, Father and Son, and Fashion Bloggers. As they were all leaving, the other teams had entered and picked out how they were getting through the caves.

As they got their bikes, they picked their colors. The Ice Dancers picked green, the Cops got yellow, the Goths obviously picked black. The Fashion Bloggers picked yellow, Father and Son got black, and the Surfer Dudes got green.

As they biked off, the other teams picked their methods. The Geniuses, Sisters, Mother and Daughter, New Couple, and Daters decided to take boats, while the remaining teams decided to walk.

"Even though we don't like caves, it's better if we just walk." Jay told.

"Yeah, boats make us seasick." added Mickey.

"Remind me why we're walking?" asked Owen.

"Because those boats aren't big enough for you." Noah told him.

"Besides, Emma and I already had our cuddle time together. We need to get our heads back in the game."

"Stroke, stroke." instructed Ryan.

"I'm doing it." Stephanie replied, as she used her oar.

"This cave is very fascinating." observed Mary.

"Yes, reminds me of when we studied caves in school." added Ellody.

"As the second group of teams get through the cave, the first group is still painting the streets."

"Is the paint still pouring, son?" asked Dwayne.

Junior looked behind them, and saw that the paint was still pouring out of the can.

"Yep."

"Good."

"Pedal faster." urged MacArthur.

"I'm going as fast as I can." Sanders replied.

"Be careful not to get any paint on your shoes, Jen." Tom warned.

"Don't worry, no paint's gonna soil these shoes." Jen assured.

They all biked on, and soon saw the Chill Zone where Don was waiting. The Ice Dancers were the first one to reach the zone.

"Ice Dancers first place, Cops second place, and Goths third." Don listed.

"Yes! We take the gold again!" cheered Josee.

"If we keep this up, we can take the gold for the whole competition." added Jacques.

As the Ice Dancers smiled and waved, the Cops scowled at them.

"We're going to have to kick things up a notch, if we want to put those Ice Dancers in their place." MacArthur whispered.

"You got that right." agreed Sanders.

4th came the Father and Son, 5th were the Fashion Bloggers, and 6th were the Surfer Dudes. After the other teams got out of the caves, they picked their colors and their bikes. The New Couple, Geniuses, and Sisters got black.

The Mother and Daughter, and Adversity Twins picked green. And the Reality TV Veterans, and Daters picked yellow. Soon they began to reach the Chill Zone. 7th came the Sisters, 8th the Daters, 9th the New Couple, 10th place were the Mother and Daughter, and 11th place came the Reality TV Veterans.

It was now down between the Adversity Twins and the Geniuses.

"We're probably going home next." said Mickey.

"Yeah, we're not that fast." Jay agreed.

"Being in tie with the Adversity Twins is surprising." mentioned Ellody.

"Yeah, while we're not really athletic, they're even less so." added Mary.

As the two teams biked, the Adversity Twins hit a rock that was in the road. The bike flew a couple feet into the air, and so did the twins. Paint flew all over the ground, and then the twins landed on the Chill Zone.

"And the Adversity Twins take 12th. Which means Geniuses you're out." Don told.

That surprised all four of them, but the Geniuses left.

"While it's disappointing to leave, I'm glad we lasted longer than last season." Mary said.

"I agree. Why don't when we get home we go to the science museum?" suggested Ellody.

"Sounds like a plan."
