Chapter 14: Tasmania

"Last time on the Ridonculous Race, the teams went to New Zealand, and hunted for glowworms. It was definitely, a slimy experience. Then they had the choice of biking or ballooning to the Chill Zone. The Adversity Twins had a bout of good luck and landed in the Chill Zone. And the Father and Son came and last, which meant they had to go. Where's our next destination? Who'll be next to leave? And will the Adversity Twins still have their new luck? Find out now on the Ridonculous Race." Don announced.

"We're still in New Zealand, and the Reality TV Veterans last time's winners get first dibs on the Don Box."

Noah pressed the button, and got the tip.

"Our next stop is Tasmania." he read.

"Tasmania. Home to beautiful bodies of water, cliffs, and the iconic Tasmanian Devil. Teams will have to take a glider plane to get there."

"Let's do this." Owen declared.

And all the teams hurried to the gliders. The teams that managed to get to them first were Reality TV Veterans, Goths, Ice Dancers, Sisters, and Cops. Before getting into the plane, Noah went over to Emma.

"Hey, gorgeous. How about a kiss before we start the next part?" he flirted.

Emma blushed and smiled. And the two shared a kiss, and Kitty and Owen gushed.

"Yep. There's nothing like a kiss from your girl." Noah told.

"(Giggles). I still can't believe you've got a girlfriend." Owen said.

They took off into the skies, though Owen was shaky, still not having conquered his fear of flying.

"Are we there yet?" he asked scared.

"We only just got off the ground." Noah replied.

"Faster, Jacques. We must get there first!" Josee ordered.

"I'm going!" Jacques told her.

The next teams to take off, and followed after the first group. Mickey and Jay struggled to fly.

"Wow, this is a first." said Mickey, as he tried to steer the plane.

"(Gags) Uh oh. I think my motion sickness is acting up (gags)." Jay told.

He quickly grabbed a paper bag, and threw up.

When the first group of gliders landed in Tasmania they quickly got out and hurried to the Don Box.

"The first group of teams have landed, and are now heading for the Don Box." Don announced.

The Sisters got to the box first, and Emma pressed the button. Once the ticket popped out, she snatched it up.

"It's an all in. Dance with a devil?" she read.

The scene cut to Don out in a forest.

"In this all in, teams will have to take a cab to this national park, find a Tasmanian Devil, trap it in a cage, and then bring it to the Chill Zone. But not to worry, the creatures will be set free, right after that."

"Let's go!" declared Kitty.

And they all hurried to get a cab.

"Tasmanian devils, one of the best creatures in the animal kingdom." said Ennui.

"Their blood curdling shrieks struck fear in the hearts of early settlers." Crimson added.

As the first group got their cabs, the second group landed, and got their tips.

"Tasmanian devils?" asked Stephanie.

"Don't worry, babe. I'll protect you." Ryan told him.

"Or maybe I'll protect you."

The two smiled at each other.

"Let's go." declared Devin.

And they all hurried to get their rides.

"I don't think we have any allergies to Tasmanian Devils." said Jay.

"But we better check our list just to be sure." Mickey replied, taking out a long sheet of paper.

"The first group of teams have now come to the national park." Don announced.

The cabs stopped at the entrance to the park, and the teams hurried out. After grabbing their cages, they hurried into the park.

"Now let's go get us a devil." said Josee.

"Seems like we've already got two devils right here." joked Sanders.

Everyone laughed, (except for the Goths).

"Nice joke, partner." MacArthur complimented.

"(Chuckles), who said I was joking?" Sanders sneered.

The teams split up, and went looking for a Tasmanian Devil.

"You know, this reminds of last season when we had to collect spit from a komodo dragon." mentioned Kitty.

"Yeah, you're right." Emma agreed.

Kitty smirked.

"And do you remember how you were so in love that you mostly wanted to be with Noah instead of completing the challenge?"

Emma's face froze.

"T-that was only because I was really caught up in the feeling of love. Now I know how to balance my love for Noah and my determination to win."

"At least there's that."

"Any ideas how we're supposed to find a Tasmanian Devil?" asked Owen.

Suddenly they heard a ear piercing shriek.

"I'm guessing we start over there." Noah told him.

And they hurried off.

The second group of teams, got to the national park, got their cages and hurried in.

"You don't suppose those devils will try and maul us will you?" wondered Carrie.

"Don't worry, Carrie. If we could handle komodo dragons last season we can handle Tasmanian Devils." Devin told her.

Carrie smiled, and they went off. Teams searched around, and the Surfer Dudes managed to find one.

"Found one, dude." said Geoff.

"Dude, do you think they'll spin into tornadoes like the cartoon one?" Brody wondered.

"Maybe."

They carefully sneaked up on the creature, when it took notice of them it shrieked at them. And they shrieked back. It started running towards them, and they ran off in response.

In another spot, the Cops found a devil.

"Okay, we have to do this carefully." whispered Sanders.

"Any ideas partner?" asked MacArthur.

"I think one of us should distract the thing while the other tries to trap it in the cage."

"Great, who's gonna be the bait?"

They stared at each other.

"Rock, paper, scissors?"

"All right."

They did three rounds, and MacArthur ended up losing the last round.

"Okay, here we go." she whispered.

She slowly went up to the creature, and started screaming at it. When the Tasmanian Devil screamed back, and started to go after her, Sanders lunged, and managed to get the devil into the cage.

"Got him."

"Nice job partner."

And they hurried to the Chill Zone.

"Many teams have tracked down a Tasmanian Devil." Don announced.

And it was true, the Daters managed to wrestle one into the cage, the Goths easily got one into the cage because the devil seemed to like them, and the Reality TV Veterans got one by Owen knocking one out with his fart gas.

"Come on, dude. We've gotta get one of these things." said Geoff.

"Right, there's another one." Brody told.

A Tasmanian Devil was just walking around, and they spotted it.

"Okay, maybe we can lure it into the cage."

And they put their plan into action.

The Adversity Twins were struggling to get a Tasmanian Devil into their cage.

"Careful, Mickey. You don't want to get bit." warned Jay.

"I'm trying." Mickey replied.

He carefully tried lure a devil towards them, but it got aggressive and started shrieking at them. The two got scared, and ran away.

At the Chill Zone, Don was waiting for the first team to arrive.

"You're sure you can take these things far away as possible?" Don asked a local.

Luckily she nodded. Then he spotted some teams coming towards them.

"And here come the first group of teams." he announced.

All the teams rushed to get there first, but this time the Daters got there first.

"Congratulations Daters, you're in first place." Don congratulated.

The two cheered, and then kissed each other. Second place were the Cops, third came the Goths, and 4th were the Reality TV Veterans. Back with the other teams, they were managing to catch some Tasmanian Devils.

The Ice Dancers were determined to catch one.

"Come on, you little devil." whispered Jacques.

A Tasmanian Devil was walking close to the cage, and looked like it was going to be trapped soon.

"Go on." Josee whispered.

The creature got closer, but for some reason it decided to go the other way. Josee grew furious, and then started yelling at the devil. The devil was so frightened, it ran away right into the cage.

"That's one good thing about Josee's temper. It can scare anyone or anything." Jacques told the audience.

While he confessed that, Josee was in a screaming match with the devil.

After getting their creature, the Ice Dancers hurried to the Chill Zone. The other teams managed to catch some Tasmanian Devils, and followed the Ice Dancers. All except the New Couple and Adversity Twins, they were still struggling.

"Do you see one yet, Devin?" asked Carrie.

"Not yet. But there must be one around here somewhere." Devin replied.

The Adversity Twins had found a devil, but they were trying to find a way to get it into the cage while still staying a safe distance away.

"Okay, Jay. We've made it this far. We can do this." encouraged Mickey.

"I hope." replied Jay.

The other teams to reach the Chill Zone came in this order, 5th the Ice Dancers, 6th the Sisters, and 7th were the Surfer Dudes.

"It's now down between the New Couple and the Adversity Twins, it's a race to not come in last and possibly eliminated." Don announced.

The New Couple managed to find one eating some dead animal, and got their trap ready.

"Okay, here we go." whispered Devin.

The creature walked towards the cage, and then it got trapped.

"We got it!" Carrie cheered.

He grabbed the cage and they started running. With Mickey and Jay, they had a plan working out. Mickey was going to lure a Tasmanian Devil towards him by provoking it.

"I can't believe we're doing this." said Jay.

"Me neither. But desperate times call for desperate measures." Mickey told him.

Mickey found one sleeping, and then using a stick, started poking it. When it woke up and saw him, he started shrieking and ran at him. Mickey ran as fast as his legs could carry him. When he got to his brother, Jay held the cage open, and when the creature got in it, he closed it.

"We got him!" cheered Jay. And they hurried off.

The twins eventually caught up to the New Couple, and it was now a race between these two teams. When the Chill Zone came into view, they pressed forward. The New Couple got there first, and Don congratulated them.

"New Couple you're 8th." he told them.

"Yes!" cheered Devin, and he hugged Carrie.

"Adversity Twins..."

"We know, we're out." Mickey sighed.

"We understand, we'll be on our way." Jay added.

"Actually, this is a non-elimination challenge, so you're both safe."

The two were shocked.

"We're still in this?" asked Mickey.

"All right." said Jay happily.

They tried to high-five, but ended up hitting each other, and fell down.
