Chapter 15: Ottawa

"Last time on the Ridonculous Race, teams went to Tasmania and captured some Tasmanian Devils. Some teams had to use unconventional methods to capture the creatures, and the Adversity Twins would've been eliminated, but this was a non-elimination challenge. Where will we go next? What crazy challenge will we do? And can the Twins keep overcoming their adversity? Find out now on the Ridonculous Race!" Don announced.

"The previous winner, the Daters get first dibs on the Don Box." Stephanie pressed the button, and got the tip.

"We're going to Ottawa." she read.

"Ottawa, Canada the capitol city, home to nice architecture, and bodies of water. Team have to catch the next flight."

"Let's do this, babe." Ryan told her, and off they went.

At the airport, the teams got their tickets, and waited for the flight to arrive. As they waited, the Ice Dancers scanned the other teams.

"We need to pick another team to take down. It's the only way for us to take gold." Josee told.

"Or we could just try our best in the next challenge." Jacques mentioned.

"MY WAY IS BETTER!" Josee roared.

When the plane arrived at the airport, everyone rushed to the gate, trying to be the first get on. Once everyone had gotten their seats, the plane took off. Several contestants took the time to sleep, while others took the time to do other things.

Carrie and Devin fell asleep on each other, Emma was flirting with Noah, and Kitty was playing on her phone. Crimson and Ennui decided to sleep, Owen was munching on some peanuts and pretzels, Mickey and Jay exhausted from the last challenge were passed out, Ryan relaxed, while Stephanie read a magazine.

Geoff and Brody fell asleep as soon as they sat down, Sanders fell asleep, while MacArthur stayed alert.

"I would've taken a nap, but a cop always has to be on the lookout." MacArthur explained.

"(Yawns), but a little shut eye wouldn't hurt." Sanders replied.

As they flew threw the air, the Ice Dancers scanned the other teams.

"Not the Cops, they're too tough. Our tricks didn't work on the New Couple and Daters, our tricks wouldn't work on the Goths. Why don't we try the Surfer Dudes." said Josee.

"But their friendship too strong." Jacques told her.

"We'll see about that." Josee sneered.

Hours later, the plane landed in Ottawa. Once the doors opened, the teams hurried out, and ran through the airport, and out the door. As they were running, the Ice Dancers got close to the Surfer Dudes.

"You know, you two should be careful." Josee told them.

"Why, dudes?" asked Geoff.

"Just because." Jacques added.

And they ran ahead.

"What do you suppose that was about?" Geoff asked.

"Don't know, dude." Brody replied.

The first team to the Don Box were the Cops. MacArthur pressed the button, and grabbed the tip.

"It's a botch or watch. Ready to blast off?" she read.

"In this botch or watch challenge, teams will have to take a bus to the Ottawa Space museum and then the person who actually scooped glowworms into the jar in New Zealand will have to spend an hour in a anti gravity chamber. And when they're done, they'll recieve their next tip from this worker." Don instructed.

"Let's go." declared Sanders.

And they ran off to the bus stop, with the others following them. As everyone boarded, the Ice Dancers continued their trick.

"Hey Brody. You won't believe what I just saw." Josee told him.

"What?" he wondered.

"Geoff was flirting with MacArthur."

"Wha, seriously?"

"Yes, he was saying that she was tough and cool." Brody was shocked.

On the bus ride, Brody kept glancing over at Geoff and at MacArthur. Geoff took notice of this.

"Something wrong, bro?" he asked.

"No, nothing." Brody replied.

The Ice Dancers looked back, and smiled deviously.

"It's working." whispered Jacques.

"I told you." Josee replied.

When they arrived at the museum, they all ran out of the vehicle, and into the building. The first group of teams to reach the anti-gravity chambers were the Cops, Ice Dancers, and New Couple.

"All right, you ready to do this, Carrie?" asked Devin.

"You bet."

"Be careful in there partner." warned MacArthur.

"Don't worry, I got this." Sanders replied.

"Jacques, you better last the whole hour." threatened Josee.

The three got into the different chambers and their partners turned on the chambers. Inside the chambers, the partners began to float and levitate.

"I don't know what's so bad about this." said Carrie.

But little did she know, she would regret those words. The other teams got to the section, and put their partners in the chambers.

"As the rest of the teams start the challenge, the other members are now three minutes into the challenge." Don announced.

As Carrie was floating around, she began to feel weird. Her head started to ache, and her stomach felt queasy.

"What the..." she asked herself.

"You okay in there, Carrie?"

"I'm not feeling so good."

"Oh, I should've mentioned before, being in anti-gravity can give a person some motion sickness." Don told.

In the chambers the others were feeling the same effects.

"Oh my gosh." Sanders croaked.

Jacques gagged. In the other chambers, the others were feeling the motion sickness. All except for Mickey, who seemed like it was nothing.

"We get motion sickness all the time, so this is nothing new." Mickey admitted.

"I guess you could say, all the adversities we've faced are working to our advantage." said Jay.

Carrie's timer went off first, and she quickly got out.

"You okay there, Carrie?"

"(Gags), Yeah, I'm fine."

The two then went over to the worker, and got their next tip.

"Next we have to collect some moon rocks." read Devin.

"In this second part, teams will have to collect ten moon rocks from the museum's moon section, and then race as fast they can in these moon-mobiles to the Chill Zone."

And off they went. As the rest of the partners got out, Brody glanced over at MacArthur. He still liked her. And he couldn't believe his best friend would flirt with her. When the timer went off, Geoff got out of the chamber.

"Whoa, my stomach has flopped around like that since I competed in the Brunch of Disgustingness challenge back in Total Drama."

But Brody wasn't paying attention.

"Dude, you okay?"

"Huh wha? Oh nothing, let's go."

And soon all the teams finished their challenge, got their tips, and hurried on.

In the moon section, teams gathered their rocks.

"At least this is simple." said Kitty.

"You got that right. Emma agreed.

She then glanced over at Owen and Noah, who were collecting their rocks.

"Hey, guys." she greeted.

"Hi, Emma." Noah said.

Then just like he did last season, he found a moon rock in the shape of a heart, and showed it to her. She was touched and smiled.

"Hey, we do still have a challenge to do." Kitty reminded.

"Right, let's get back to work."

"All our teams are now at the second part of the challenge. Once they finish, it'll be a race to see who gets to the Chill Zone first." announced Don.

The Ice Dancers were the first to get all ten rocks, and before leaving they decided to play another trick on the Surfer Dudes. Jacques took a small knife, and cut their bag open, causing their moon rocks to fall out.

"Aw man." they both cried.

The Ice Dancers giggled evilly, and hurried off. They got in a moon mobile, and drove off. After them came the New Couple, Daters, Goths, and Cops. But to their surprise, the moon mobiles were slow, very slow.

"What gives?" Jacques wanted to know.

"Can't these things go any faster!?" snapped MacArthur.

"It doesn't look like speed will be our advantage." said Carrie.

The Goths didn't seem to make a fuss out of it. They only said these words.

"We won't win like this." said Crimson.

"Don't complain, we'll be fine." Ennui told her.

Back at the museum, the other teams were finishing collecting their rocks. As the Surfer Dudes were gathering back up their up, Geoff decided to find out what was going on with his buddy.

"Brody, dude, what's going on with you?" he asked.

"What?"

"You're completely off your game. What's the deal?"

Brody sighed and then asked,

"Why did you flirt with MacArthur?" Geoff was shocked.

"What? I didn't do that."

"But the Ice Dancers said they saw you."

Geoff then slapped his own face.

"Dude, I would never do that. Besides I already have a girlfriend remember?"

That's when it clicked. There's no way Geoff would flirt with MacArthur. He wasn't that kind of guy, and he had Bridgette.

"I can't believe I let those Ice Dancers get in my head like that." Brody told the audience.

"I'm sorry, dude."

"It's okay, bro. Those guys play dirty." assured Geoff.

Soon the remaining teams, collected all their rocks, and got on the moon-mobiles. They too, were upset about how slow they were. Up ahead, the others could see the Chill Zone.

"(Growls), this is taking too long." said Josee.

And with that, the Ice Dancers jumped out of the vehicle, and ran to the Chill Zone. Don was sipping some coffee, when he saw the first team coming his way.

"Congratulations, Ice Dancers. You're in first place...if no one comes in the next ten minutes. Penalty." Don told.

A timer showing 10 minutes appeared.

"What? Why?" Jacques wanted to know.

"The challenge was to race the moon mobiles here. Not on foot."

The Ice Dancers looked angry.

"(Shrieks), what is it with Don?" Josee wanted to know.

"Yeah, all we did was just try and finish the race faster." added Jacques.

While the Ice Dancers waited with sour looks on their faces, the other teams had arrived. The team that came in 1st place were the Cops.

"Officers, you're in first place." Sanders and MacArthur cheered in happiness.

"How you like that Ice Dunces?" MacArthur taunted.

Josee and Jacques growled through their smiles. 2nd place were the Goths, 3rth the Daters, and 4th the New Couple.

"As the first group of teams have finished, and the Ice Dancers are waiting for their penalty to be up, the other teams are making their way towards the Chill Zone."

"Why are these things so slow?" Emma wanted to know.

"I guess there's no reason to fast on the moon." reasoned Kitty.

While they were all slow, the Reality TV Veterans were going the slowest.

Noah was giving Owen a pointed look.

"It's not my fault. Those things are slow." Owen defended.

"Oh yes, and I'm sure weighing it down with 300 pounds didn't affect it at all." replied Noah sarcastically.

As time was running out for the Ice Dancers' penalty, some of the other teams were able to get there first.

"5th place the Sisters, 6th place the Surfer Dudes, and 7th the Adversity Twins." Don announced.

It was now between the Ice Dancers and the Reality TV Veterans. The Ice Dancers only had a minute left, but the Reality TV Veterans were close even though they were still going slow. As the timer got down to seconds, the Ice Dancers got ready to move, and the Veterans were gaining.

When the timer hit zero, the Ice Dancers sprang forward.

"Ice Dancers, you're 7th place." Don replied.

The two cheered, and the Reality TV Veterans came up.

"And Veterans, sorry but you're out."

"Aw man." complained Owen.

Emma ran towards Noah, and hugged him tightly.

"It's okay, we'll see each other again." he comforted, as he hugged her back.

Touched by the scene, Owen picked them both up and hugged them.

"It's sucks we're leaving. But at least I got to spend more time with Emma." Noah said, as they left.

"Yeah, it was fun. Can we hit a restaurant on the way back?" Owen requested.

"As long as it doesn't serve beans."
