Chapter 16: Greenland

"Last time on the Ridonculous Race..." Don started.

"Our teams went to Ottawa, and had experiences only astronauts get to have. Which included severe motion sickness, collecting rocks, and riding in very slow moon mobiles. In the end, the Reality TV Veterans came in last, and ended up going home. Who'll be next to go, and where in the world will we go? Find out now on the Ridonculous Race." announced Don.

"We're still in Ottawa, and last time's winners the Cops get first dibs on the Don Box."

MacArthur pressed the button, and read the tip.

"Our next stop is, Greenland." she read.

"Greenland, which isn't really green. It's home to mountain ranges, cute little colorful houses, and ice. Teams will have to catch the next flight there."

"Let's move." Sanders said.

And all the teams ran towards the airport.

"Are you going to have any more Noah dazes this time?" Kitty asked Emma.

"No, I'm not. I told you, I've learned to control my feelings better." Emma told her.

"But I do miss him."

At the airport, the teams pushed to be the first ones in line for tickets. The Cops and Ice Dancers began pushing, shoving, and fighting to get to the front desk first.

"Get out of our way, you cheaters." ordered MacArthur.

"You get out of our way!" snapped Jacques.

While they were arguing, the Goths took advantage of the situation and got to the desk first.

"We'll take two tickets to Greenland, please." said Ennui.

And the worker gave them the tickets.

"Arguing is so pointless." Crimson told the audience.

"Yeah, the world's already a dark, soulless place." Ennui added.

After fighting the Cops managed to get tickets before the Ice Dancers, and they all boarded the plane. After it took off, the teams tried to relax, but then Don appeared on the TV screens. "Attention contestants this message is to inform you that we'll be using boomerangs in the next challenge." he informed.

That got everyone talking.

"If we get that boomerang, we're definitely using it against the Ice Dancers." declared MacArthur.

"I agree with you on that." Sanders agreed.

On the flight, the Ice Dancers discussed their strategy.

"We need stronger tactics." declared Josee.

"Yeah, something that will for sure work and won't get us any penalties." added Jacques.

After a while of thinking, he spoke up again.

"You know, Josee. We could try...playing fair?"

Josee looked at him with pure fury in her eyes.

"Right, right, no playing fair."

Hours later, the plane landed in Greenland and the teams scrambled off the plane. The New Couple managed to get out of the airport first, and got to the Don Box.

"What are doing this time?" asked Carrie.

"It's an all in. Get ready to sail across the ice." Devin read.

"In this all in, teams will have to build an ice boat, and then sail it across this frozen lake. And there may be a few surprised in them." Don announced.

"Let's go." Carrie declared.

And they hurried off to grab a taxi. The other teams got their tips, and also flagged down some taxis.

"I'm telling you, if that Josee tries to get my tongue stuck to something again I'm gonna make her sorry." MacArthur told.

"And I hope I don't break my arm again." hoped Sanders.

"It sure is chilly." Stephanie replied.

The contestants had changed into some more warm clothes, but it was still cold.

"Don't worry, I'll keep you warm." Ryan told her.

He then put her arm around her.

"I love it when you act all romantic."

And then they started kissing.

When the taxis came to the frozen lake, the team hurried out of them. They found the spot where the supplies was, there were canoes, blades, masts, sails, tools, and there were also things like tubes, slingshots, and crates.

"Let's get building." said Sanders.

Everyone started grabbing the supplies and got to work on building.

"You know, this is like last season's challenge back in Russia." Kitty told.

"Yeah, only we don't have to wear our bathing suits." Emma replied.

"The teams are now building their ice boats, and it could be anyone's race." announced Don.

As the Adversity Twins were getting more supplies, Jay picked up a crate.

"Huh, I wonder what's in these?" wondered Jay.

"Maybe this is one of the surprises Don mentioned." told Mickey.

They started to open the crate, but Don voice stopped them.

"Don't open those crates until you've got your boat sailing." he informed.

They stopped opening it, and got back to work.

"We're really happy to be this far in the game." Jay said. "Yeah, but we're still nervous." admitted Mickey.

They still took the tubes, and continued building. The first team to finish building their boat were the Ice Dancers, and they were off.

"Yes, we're in the lead!" cheered Josee.

"Come on, Sanders. We can't let them get ahead." urged MacArthur.

"Don't worry, I'm just about finished." Sanders told.

She just finished, adding some slingshots, and then their boat was done.

"Come on, let's go."

And then the Cops sailed after them. After them came the Daters, Goths, Sisters, New Couple, Surfer Dudes, and Adversity Twins.

"Now that all the teams have their boats finished, they're sailing across the ice." Don announced.

"So I wonder what's in these crates." thought Stephanie.

She opened it, and saw that it was filled with snowballs.

"Snowballs? Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Ryan wondered.

"Oh yeah." replied Stephanie slyly.

She took the snowballs out of the crate, and started loading them into the slingshots.

"Take this Ice Dancers!"

And with that, she start slinging snow balls at the Ice Dancers' boat. The snowballs hit their boat, and even hit Josee in the face.

"Okay, that girl totally deserved that." Stephanie told the audience.

"So right." Ryan agreed.

After seeing what the Daters were doing, the other teams opened their crates and started firing their snowballs at each other.

"Now this is a killer snowball fight." Geoff said, throwing snowballs.

"You said it, bro." Brody agreed.

As the snowball battle kept going on, the Ice Dancers, Cops, and Goths got to the end of the lake. There another Don Box was waiting for them. While the Ice Dancers and Cops fought to get there first, the Goths took the opportunity.

They pushed the button, and got the next tip. And to their luck it had the boomerang on it.

"We got the boomerang." Ennui informed.

"Yay for us." said Crimson.

The two then walked over to the other teams.

"We got the boomerang." they said.

The two teams stopped fighting and looked at the Goths.

"So uh...who're you gonna boomerang?" Sanders wanted to know.

"We choose...the Ice Dancers."

Josee and Jacques looked shocked, while the Cops looked pleased.

"But why us?" Jacques asked.

"We don't like you."

With no other choice, the Ice Dancers went back to make another boat. MacArthur then pushed the Don Box again, and read the tip.

"It's an either or."

"For this either or part of the challenge, teams will have to race to the Chill Zone using these dog sleds." Don said.

And beside him were a small group of dogs attached to a sled. The Goths and Cops then ran off. The next ones to get to the Don Box were Surfer Dudes, Daters, Sisters, New Couple, and Adversity Twins.

"Oh great, dogs." sighed Mickey as he read the tip.

"Dogs are on our long list of allergies." Jay informed.

"As the teams head to the dog sleds, the Ice Dancers are rebuilding their boat." Don announced.

"And hopefully they'll be last to get here."

"I can't believe those Goths boomeranged us." complained Josee.

"Just keep building." Jacques told her.

Once they got their boat together, they sailed back across the frozen lake. Back with the other teams they got to the dogs.

"Let's get a move on." said Devin.

"This is gonna be so much fun." Carrie squealed.

She pet the dogs, and then got on the back of the sled behind Devin.

"Come on boys, mush!" Devin commanded.

And with that, the dogs took off. One by one, the teams got on the sleds, and rode of towards the Chill Zone. The Ice Dancers managed to get across the lake again, they ran as fast as they could to the dog sleds.

"This is just like when we had to fly from Hawaii to Zimbabwe." said Jacques.

"That was way different." Josee argued.

"Yes, because you didn't curse us with a Hawaiian rock."

"I TOLD YOU IT WAS NOT MY FAULT!"

When they got to the dogs, they quickly got on, and ordered the dogs to move. Up ahead, the other teams were continuing to mush. The Sisters, Surfer Dudes, and New Couple were having fun, while the Cops and Daters looked determined.

The Goths looked indifferent as always, and the Adversity Twins had red hives and were scratching themselves.

"The sooner we get to the Chill Zone the better." said Jay.

"We need our special ointment." added Mickey.

At the Chill Zone, Don was happily sipped some hot chocolate from his thermos.

"Ah, there's nothing like hot chocolate on a cold day." he told himself.

Then he heard the sound of dogs barking.

"And here come the teams."

The first group of teams were coming close the Chill Zone. The first team that arrived there were the...Surfer Dudes.

"Surfer Dudes, you're in first place." Don told them.

The two cheered in delight, and the dogs howled with them.

"Finally, first place!" Geoff cheered.

"You said it bro." Brody agreed.

Second place were the New Couple, and third place the Cops.

"Come on you mangy mutts, go faster!" Josee demanded.

The dogs just barked, and kept running their pace.

"I think you have to say mush." Jacques told her.

The second he said that, the dogs went faster and caught the Ice Dancers completely off guard with their speed. 4th place came the Daters, 5th the Sisters, Adversity were 6th, leaving the Goths and the Ice Dancers.

The Goths were just letting the dogs to their usual pace, while the Ice Dancers' dogs were still going fast. Even though the Ice Dancers were going fast, they were still behind.

"Goths, you're 7th place." Don told them.

"Hooray." they both replied in their monotone voices.

Then finally the Ice Dancers appeared.

"And Ice Dancers..."

"Don't tell us we're out." Jacques pleaded.

Josee looked like she might explode.

"Believe me I wish I could say that. But this is a non-elimination round so you're still in the game." Don told them in a sarcastic voice.

The Ice Dancers cheered in victory, while the other teams groaned.

"What will take to get rid of those Ice Dancers!" MacArthur wanted to know.

"They're like roaches, really hard to get rid off." Sanders replied.
