Chapter 17: Thailand

"Previously on the Ridonculous Race, the teams went to Greenland where they sailed across frozen water, and ran with dogs. The Goths boomeranged the Ice Dancers, sending them back to the beginning. But unfortunately because it was a non-elimination round they were able to stay. Where will be go next? What type of round will it be? And how long will it take for the Ice Dancers to get eliminated? Find out right now. I'm Don, and this is the Ridonculous Race." Don announced to the audience.

"We're still in Greenland, and last time's winners the Surfer Dudes get first dibs on the next tip." Don told.

Brody pressed the button on the Don Box, and got the first tip.

"We're going to Thailand." he read.

"Thailand, home to green jungles, stunning architecture, and boat rides. Teams will have to catch the next flight there."

"Let's do this, dude." Geoff told him.

And with that, they hurried off to the airport, with the rest of the teams following them.

They all caught taxis, and rode to the airport. After hurrying inside, they bought tickets, and boarded the plane as soon as they opened the doors.

"Well I don't know about you, Devin but I'd like to order a nice warm hot chocolate." said Carrie.

"As you wish, m'lady." Devin replied.

And he quickly ordered her a hot chocolate from a flight attendant. When the plane took off, everyone relaxed a bit.

"You know, I think I'm getting used to flying." Jay told his brother.

"Me too, my nose isn't even bleeding." Mickey replied.

"We're lasting way longer than we did last time." Mickey told the audience.

"Yeah, maybe our luck's finally turning around." Jay thought.

Hours later, the plane landed in Thailand. Everyone hurried off it, and ran outside to where the Don Box was. The Sisters managed to get there first, and Kitty pressed the button.

"It's an either or." she read.

The scene then cut to Don.

"In this either or, teams will have to take a bus to the Royal Grand Palace, and can either eat a buffet from a vegetarian festival or they can weld a metal bowl together."

"Let's go!" Emma declared.

And they hurried towards the bus stop. Luckily they were first in line, and the others had to wait behind them. When the bus arrived, after the Sisters boarded, the other teams began pushing and shoving to try to get on before another.

Once everyone was on, the bus took off.

"I say we do eat the buffet." suggested Ryan.

"Why's that?" Stephanie wanted to know.

Ryan simply shrugged, and answered,

"I'm hungry."

Stephanie just rolled her eyes.

When the bus stopped at the palace, they all hurried off and picked which challenge they would do. The Daters, New Couple, and Ice Dancers decided to eat the buffet, while the other teams decided to make metal bowls.

The teams eating went to the tables, where a local was waiting for them. "This buffet includes dishes fried tofu, vegetarian pink noodle soup, deep fried spring rolls, and fried taro." Don informed.

"This looks simple enough." observed Devin.

A local then put the plates in front of the teams, and to their surprise the plates were completely full.

"Okay, this may take a minute." Carrie replied.

But they started eating anyway. With the other groups, they were led over to the area where they could make the bowls.

"Looks like we have to weld these pieces of metal together using these blow torches." observed Emma.

"Have you ever used a blow torch before?" Kitty asked.

"No, but in this show's there's a first time for everything."

And they each grabbed a wielding mask.

"This is gonna be cool, I've never made a bowl before." said Geoff, getting a mask.

"Neither have I. But it looks fun to use these blow torches." Brody replied.

"As the teams start their challenges, it can be anyone's game."

With the teams eating, they had gone through half of their plates.

"You know, this vegetarian food isn't so bad." Ryan told Stephanie.

"Yeah, but less talking more eating." Stephanie instructed.

"Keep eating, Jacques. We must come in first." Josee ordered.

Jacques kept stuffing his face full of food, and nodded. With the others, they were all welding together the metal into bowls.

"This is a piece of cake." MacArthur bragged.

"I know how to use a blow torch."

"It's true, she does." Sanders clarified.

The Cops were the first ones to finish their bowl, and they quickly went over to the local. The local looked at the bowl carefully, and then gave them their next tip.

"Yes, first place baby!" MacArthur cheered.

Sanders looked at the tip, and began reading it aloud.

"It looks like it's an all in."

The scene then cuts to Don, who was standing near the Chill Zone.

"In this all in, teams will have to race to the Chill Zone using not with scooters or rickshaws, but roller blades. And they'll have to reach the Chill Zone together."

"Let's do this. Give us those blades." MacArthur told the local.

And he did. After getting them on their feet, they skatted off.

"And the Cops have taken first place." Don announced.

When the Ice Dancers heard that, they got angry. They quickly scarfed down the last of the food, gave their empty plate to the local. After getting their roller blades, they hurried after the Cops. The next ones to finish were the Surfer Dudes, New Couple, Sisters, and Daters.

They got their blades, and rode off.

The Cops were skating down the road, when the Ice Dancers zoomed past them.

"They may not be ice skates, but they're still skates which is our thing." Josee bragged to the audience.

"Catch us if you can, cops!" Jacques taunted. MacArthur scowled.

"There's no way those two are going to come in first. Sanders grab onto me." Sanders did that, and MacArthur shot off, on her blades.

"Normally I would ask you to slow down, but go as fast you can." Sanders told her.

The other teams had just finished their first challenges and got to rollerblading.

"With all the teams finished with the first part of the challenge, it's now a race to get to the Chill Zone first." Don announced.

While the Cops and Ice Dancers were going as fast as they could. The New Couple, Daters, Surfer Dudes, and Sisters were trying to skate as fast as they could. The Goths were just rolling along staring directly in front of themselves.

And the Adversity Twins were struggling to keep themselves steady.

"Come on, babe, we've got to go faster." Stephanie told Ryan.

"Right behind you, babe." Ryan replied, a little annoyed.

Stephanie could get bossy at times. The other teams were quickly making their way to the Chill Zone. The three teams that were closest were the Ice Dancers, Cops, and the Sisters. The Ice Dancers were almost there, but the Cops were close behind them.

"They're gaining on us, Jacques. Throw me!" Josee commanded.

Jacques then picked Josee up, spun around very quickly, and then threw Josee into the air. She soared through the air, and landed at the Chill Zone in an elegant pose.

"Excellent entrance Josee, except you and Jacques have a penalty." Don told.

A timer then appeared showing 25 minutes.

"B-but...why?"

"The rules were both of you and your teammates had to reach the Chill Zone together."

Josee began yelling and screaming, while Jacques just sat and let her rant.

Jacques got to the Chill Zone, and had to wait with Josee. This time, the Cops came in first.

"Cops, you're in first again." Don told.

"All right!" cheered Sanders.

"How do you like that Ice Dancers?" asked MacArthur.

The two just scowled at them. The Sisters were 2nd, the Surfer Dudes came 3rd, and 4th came the Goths. The other teams were still making their way down the road.

"Come on, Ryan we're almost there!" Stephanie told.

"Right beside you, babe." Ryan replied.

"Keep going, Carrie. We can make it." Devin encouraged.

"I'm coming." Carrie answered.

Mickey and Jay were still on their feet, but they were still all wobbly.

"We've never roller bladed before so that's why we're struggling to stay up." Jay explained to the audience.

"Plus, we're got wearing helmets so we have to extra careful." added Mickey.

5th place were the New Couple, 6th were the Daters, and it was now down between the Adversity Twins and the Ice Dancers. Josee and Jacques waited rather impatiently for their penalty to finish.

"There's no way we're losing to the Adversity Twins." Jacques told the audience.

"That is unacceptable. Plus is humiliating." Josee added.

The Adversity Twins were still wobbly, but they were almost at the Chill Zone. Time was almost up for the Ice Dancers, and they got ready to move. Just as the twins were just a foot away from the Chill Zone, the timer went to zero, and Ice Dancers took off.

"Ice Dancers you're in 7th, and Adversity Twins..."

"We know we're going home." sighed Mickey.

"Actually this is another non-elimination challenge so you're still in." Don told them.

The two smiled at each other attempted to hi-five, but ended up slapping each other.
