The Dream: Chapter 19
"Okay so you won't tell me what kind of demon you are, then tell me how you know Kurama." "We go way back, to the beginning really. Brothers maybe, or more like a father to a son." He hummed as he truly thought about his relationship with Kurama, "Yes, more like a father and a son." "You don't look that much older than him." Clicking his tongue at her once more and waving a single slim finger, "It is my turn to ask." "Stop asking her about Hiei and myself, she will figure it out too soon. We need to find out what powers she discovered first." "Little one, be quite and let me do my work. Or if you would like to do this you may." "No." He smirked to himself, "Okay how do you feel about Jin?" It was her turn to now tilt her head to the side, "Jin?" "Yes, your little wind demon." "Well… he is like a brother to me… I guess." She paused truly thinking about her relationship with Jin, knowing it was what this man wanted but she was curious herself. "Yeah a brother, but sometimes I feel motherly towards him. He tends to act like a child. I don't know, a younger brother I suppose." "And Touya?" "Well… the same I guess." She stopped and let her eyes show a hind of anger towards him, "You do know that Jin and Touya are together right? In a romantic sense, so if you are asking if I am attracted to them on more than a friendship and family basis then you are way off." "Yes. I did know of that relationship. Just needed to know." "How do you know Hiei?" A true smile slipped onto his pale face, "We are much more like your Jin and Touya than he would ever admit." There was silence in the hall as Lilly pieced together exactly what he was saying and tried to figure out why.
"So you and Hiei were together? In a sexual or romantic way? When? How long ago?" "So many questions, but I will answer them all. Yes to both. When? A very long time ago…let's say 300 years maybe. It was the most exhilarating time of my life." His eyes were closed and his head tilted back as if remembering the times he had with Hiei when he was truly himself. "Do you not feel it as well?" "Feel what?" "The passion he radiates? The intensity of his fire? The way he looks right threw you but also right at you? The way his voice sends shivers up your spine when he speaks your name?" Her cheeks held a slight pink tent to them and Youko knew he was breaking her down. "Maybe, but Kurama's voice holds more power." "Mhm, do you think so?" "Yes, it's like silk. Those green eyes pull you in and never want to let go. He is so confident in himself it's almost off putting." "Sounds like you might be torn." "No." "Oh?"
He started to circle the young girl as the red started to deepen upon her face, now he stood at her back leaning forward so his face was next to hers, hovering over her right shoulder. "Tell me flower… do you fantasize about them?" She did not respond. "After all you said yourself they are both rather attractive in their own way. No one would blame you if you did." "Youko do not push too hard." "I find myself fantasizing about Hiei from time to time; you know he is just as gentle as he is rough. You have trained with him, can you image that passion for violence turned to passion for intimacy?" Still she did not speak, only stared straight ahead to where he had been standing; he slowly started to play with a strand of her long hair inbetween his fingers. "Tell me flower, or are you done with this game?" "No." "Well…" "Yes." "Yes?" "The answer to your questions is yes." "Ahh so you do find some attraction to both? Too bad you still only dream of me." "Youko, no!" "I do not dream of you!" Her voice full of anger once again as she looked at him from the corner of her eyes, not willing to turn her head and have her lips that close to his. "Think my flower, think long and hard. You know me, I can sense that you do. You just can't remember right now, but you will." He finally moved back in front of her, allowing her to see him once again; however this time he showed off his silver ears and tail, that both shinned in the moonlight.
"A fox?" Her eyes not showing emotion looked up towards his, she did not want to believe it. But how? How could this be real? My dream is of the past, I'm sure of it. A warning, it could never be of the future. But the fox could be old enough that it is him in the past. But that wouldn't make any sense.
"I want to play a different game. I am tired and all your pointless questions are making my head fuzzy. Unless there is a question I still have not answered, then ask and get it over with." "Fierce flower, I like that… okay one more question and then we will be done. Who is the dragon of your dreams?" She eyes widened in shock and confusion. "I don't know. I have never known. Shit I didn't even know of you until just now when you practically told me. How would I even know that?" "As I said before, you must think."
Another hour had passed since they last spoke and Lilly was the first to break and sat down on the floor, with her back against the wall staring out the window into the night. Youko was standing next to her, arms crossed and one foot propped up on the wall behind him, eyes closed waiting for her to figure it out.
"Youko, don't do this. Please!" "Little one, you told me to do what I needed. And this is what needs to be done. You have all played with her for months and only recently has she been told about the world around her. It is enough time, her powers are growing and she needs to know the truth." "But we still haven't…" "Yes. Haven't finished your silly book. Did you ever wonder to ask me what happen?" "You? But I thought…" "Kurama, so smart and cunning but yet to naive to think I did not know what was going on this whole time. I assume Hiei knows somewhere deep in his mind, where he and the dragon connect."
"Hiei." She stood up and walked towards the window, never taking her eyes off the full moon, "Hiei, of course it is. Everyone has been so worried about me and treating me like part of the family except you and Hiei." She turned on her heels and marched straight into Youko's calm face, "You knew this whole time. Why did you want to play this game?" He clicked his tongue at her, "I only wanted to know your feelings on young Kurama and to see your powers. You are the one that wanted to play around the issues, but now you know." There was a silence again as she started to register everything and a fear grew fast inside her, almost unwilling to slow upon her demand.
"Now… let's see those powers."
