The Dream: Chapter 24

"Nice replacement furniture Genkai." "Thank you Koenma, more places for asses so I don't have to sit next to the brats." "Yes, that would make since."

"Okay everyone, thank you all for coming. Eh wait where's Lilly?" Everyone in the room just gave Koenma looks of uncaring, they all knew she would show up one way or another. "Well I can't start without her." "Get on with it infant, she will be here."

Just as Koenma was getting ready to start his speech, a gust of wind came through the window and Lilly was sitting right next to Hiei as if she had been there the whole time. "But where… how… oh never mind. Okay so the story I told you all before was a little wrong, after further investigation and Touya's trip to Demon World, we now know everything."

Lilly could feel both Hiei and Kurama's eyes on her, but she refused to look. If I look now, I will ignore babyface over there and god knows other than Genkai he is the only person in this house that talks anywhere close to normal. Don't look, just listen to babyface. Don't look. Don't look.

"Ugh would you two stop fucking looking at me. I feel your eyes burning a hole into my fucking skin." She snapped her head to the right and stared down both men in question, whom seemed unphased by her outburst. One too many times with Yusuke snapping, assholes. Taking a deep breath she tried again. "Kurama. Hiei. Stop looking at me while babyface gives his talk or I will carve out your eyes right here and now. Please and thank you." The men removed their gazes, "Now Koenma you were telling us this story. And if anyone and I mean anyone interrupts him like last time I will blow this whole place sky high."

"Hiei did you do something to upset her?" "Why are you asking me fox? I have been with you all day." "She seems on edge." "I like it. Let her beat some sense into the others here, it would be fun." "Hiei." "Hn." "You do realize we would probably be first on that list." "She can try."

"Umm thank you Lilly. So yeah, the story was a little off. I'll keep this short and simple.

The king had 7 daughters, only the two youngest who were twins possessed his powers of creation. He never feared his daughters until they grew older and started getting more attention than he liked. As with the first story, the eldest of the twins fell inlove with a man who sneaked into their tower every night and became pregnant. The part so conveniently left out was that in his rage over his young daughter, the ruler killed her lover in front of her and then banished her to the depths of space. In the hopes it would kill not only her but the unborn world growing inside. However it did not, her own anger and pain festered and grew into something dark and twisted… Demon World. Also, even though spirits were sent there as a punishment, when Ririsu gave birth to the world, she also gave birth to some demons. The worst of the worst, the S class demons that still dwell at the bottom levels, we have no idea of their power or age, but now knowing this we should never try to awaken them.

Now on to you Lilly. It seems most of the story was true up until Shizen's death. Touya found evidence that matched the long ancient records I dug up in Spirit World. Shizen was not killed by her father; no she was killed by her sister.

When the two worlds had become fully developed, Shizen took pity on Ririsu and between the two opened a door way. The two worlds were connected for generations before anything bad happened. Ririsu lived in Living World with Shizen, finally finding a shred of peace; that was until Shizen and her lover tried to have another child, a living child. Ririsu was overcome with the same anger and jealousy she long had forgotten about.

She contacted her father, the ruler, and told him of Shizen's plans. The ruler send down guards to keep the two lovers apart, in an attempts to keep the peace and avoid the unknown. Heartbroken and angry, Shizen lashed out blaming everything on Ririsu and the two fought. The fight lasted a thousand years and when the smoke rose. Shizen's lover had been killed by her father's men and in an attempt to save his life; she split his soul in two. And over time those two souls grew into two different souls completely, no longer needing to stay close but free to live how they pleased.

That is why the fox and the dragon never get along in your dream or in the life times before. But after she saved the man she loved, Ririsu took her ultimate revenge. She killed Shizen, damning her soul to a Spirit World prison for all time."

Touya cut in at this point, "But before her soul truly found its way to Spirit World, she splintered it. We do not know how many times, though we do know she buried those pieces of her soul into the world she created. This is why you are a human, with zero demon energy although your power would be that of a class S demon. For Shizen's lover, Ririsu took the broken soul and hid them away in demon world. Also explaining Hiei and Kurama. The problem is the past lives and where Ririsu's soul is, for it has not been seen since Shizen's murder."

"Okay and who wants to tell me about the past lives?"

"Youko will." "Wow Kurama when have you been letting Youko out again? I thought after the first demon tournament you were gonna keep that guy on the back burner for a long time." "Yes Yusuke, that is what I had planned to do. But the situation has changed and he is no threat to anyone anymore."

"I can still kill you little one, watch your tongue." "Do you really want to fight a house hold full of demons at your own strength or higher? I suggest you keep up appearances or die for some worthless cause."

As Kurama has done before by unleashing Youko's form, but keeping his own mind in control; Kurama's body did not change, but the mind controlling it did.

"The past lives are simple, you die in each one." "Well that was very helpful fox boy, why don't you talk about them just a little bit more so the rest of the class can keep up with what you are holding out on."

"Fine. In the original life, as Koenma and Touya have discovered, Shizen splintered her soul with the larger part sitting in a prison cell. The first splinter die of her own means, the dream you keep having is a reflection of her life with a few parts left out. After she destroyed the world watching her two lovers die, the pain of the world below was too much for her to handle. That I'm sure you can understand flower. So she used the rest of her life energy to correct her mistake, she rebuilt the world and once again resaved the souls of her lovers. The second splinter the dragon killed her. Though it was an accident, she jumped in front of a final blow meant for me and died on impact. The third splinter I killed her, I did it simply because I could not stand the dragon having her so I took her away. Now here we are at the fourth splinter and I vowed a long time ago that it would not end the same. When I first remembered these past lives, I had shortly met Hiei before and knew that he would house the dragon one day; and to keep the past from repeating itself I befriended Hiei and well." "Shut up Fox." "Alright then. Then when I took this body and hid inside a human, Hiei was the one to find me. Our bond again grew stronger and now we not only have but continue to coexist with little true violence held towards one another."

"So does anyone know how many 'splinters' there were? Like if Lilly were to die today, would this Shizen lady just keep coming back?" "No one knows Yusuke, it is a mystery she took with her to the grave so to speak." "Right so then we just need to ask her right?"

"No." All eyes turned to the girl sitting in the windowsill, her eyes were focused and could burn holes into the wooden floor. "But Lilly?" "No. Shizen is not me, her soul is not housed inside of mine, she is not a second mind singing me to sleep. She can only possess me when I am at full strength and my mind is open. So no. We know all we need too and until some big bad from Spirit World comes floating down to take me away, we are done with this. Youko will help me control my power and then that will be that. I will never again go full strength and never have to worry about her invading my body again. As for the dreams…I'm sure we can figure out a way to suppress them or at least tweak them enough that I stop exploding every night."

"Yeah but Lilly." "No. Thank you all for everything you have done for me, but I am tired and just want to live my life again. Please respect that." And before anyone could convince her otherwise, she had taken off out the window and into the night's sky.

"Soo…"

When Hiei finally spoke up, his voice left no remove for agreement. "We will do nothing like she has said. You will do nothing or I will help you do nothing and send your souls to their rightful places."

"Alright everyone. I think we get the point, back to normal life. Let things cool down for awhile and please no one," eye's shooting daggers at Hiei, "set the new furniture on fire."
