Quiet afternoon in the castle of the Dark Kingdom. Quirin, Adira, and Hector were in the castle training area polishing their weapons and chatting with each other until a messenger came to them.
"The King and Queen are waiting for you in the square near the fountain." He announced.
"I wonder what they want from us." Quirin asked.
"Yes, and why in the square?" Adira agreed.
"But above all, WHY should they summon us at this hour? I'm starving." Hector groaned as his stomach grumbled.
"But how is it that you're already hungry? You realize we're having lunch in ten minutes!" Adira exclaimed.
"Yes, I know, but I'm still hungry!" Hector protested.
"Oh, boy. You are so incorrigible." Groaned Quirin as Adira hit her face with her hand.
Shortly after, the three arrived at the square, but there was no trace of Edmund and Selena.
"That's funny. Usually they are early." Interrogative Quirin.
"Ughhh, I need to put a steak in my stomach. RIGHT NOW!" Hector complained while hitting the fountain with his hands, and on the fourth blow he lost his balance and fell into the water and a piece of paper came down.
"What is this?" Quirin took it before the paper went into the water, read it, and realized what it was.
"Then what is it?" Adira asked.
"It's a treasure hunt, I think." Quirin replied.
"So let me get this straight: Edmund and Selena summoned us here, without even showing up, to play a children's game!?" Incredulous Hector.
"Come on, maybe we'll have some fun." Adira told him, then she turned to Quirin. "So, what does the first clue say?"
"The first clue is a start, go where the kids spend part of the day during the week, to continue go where you will find games going up and down." Quirin read the note and remained silent for a minute, then understood. "Of course, I understood!" Hector and Adira looked at him confused. "So what?" "The first clue is school, come on." And so, the three headed for the school.
As soon as they arrived, they started looking for the second clue.
"Okay, the first part of the clue is clear, but the second part? To continue, go where you will find games going up and down, what does that mean?" Adira wondered as she looked around the school.
"What if it's talking about stairs?" Hector asked, but Adira and Quirin shook their heads.
"Stairs are not games and they don't..." Quirin remarked, and then he understood. "*gasp* The second part refers to the playground!" Quirin pointed his finger at the nearby courtyard. He walked toward and found the clue on a swing and read it. "Now you will see that the next step will be a blast, go where the newborn are registered." "This is easy. Everyone to the archives!" She exclaimed Adira.
The three knights went to the archives of the kingdom, and entered the section where there were the birth certificates of all of them, so they began to search.
After a while, Adira found the third clue and read it aloud to Quirin and Hector. "Now go where you can choose some novelties for the house and where the family makes the little ones do the lullaby." Quirin and Adira were puzzled, but Hector rushed out.
However, he looked out at the edge of the door, realizing that the other two hadn't figured it out yet and hit his face with his hand. "Ugh! Seriously? Don't you get it?" Hector made a noise of frustration and dragged the two out quickly. "It's easy: the furniture store!"
The three met in front of the store. "Go in, go in, go in!" Excited Hector. "Hector, I don't know if-" Hesitant Adira. "Uuuuuugh, fine!" A frustrated Hector walked into the store and started looking.
Shortly after, Hector threw himself out with the last clue attached to a crib. (A/N Hector's face is the same as Pinkie Pie's face when she points to the clue on the crib).
"Wow! Hector, I'm stunned." Quirin was surprised, then Hector read the last clue. "At this point you will have reached your goal, now come where you make your usual raids for food." "The royal kitchens!" All three exclaimed in unison.
The trio of the Brotherhood entered the kitchens of the castle, where there were also Edmund and Selena.
"SURPRISE!" Edmund and Selena were in front of them, smiling.
Edmund approached them and patted Quirin on his shoulder. "So? Did you guys enjoy the treasure hunt?"
"Yeah, it was fun, wasn't it, guys?" Quirin turned to Hector and Adira who nodded.
"So... where is it?" Quirin looked around.
"What?" Edmund asked.
"The prize because there's always one at the end, right?"
Edmund laughed. "Yes, but you three will have to wait a few months."
The trio looked at each other. "What do you mean?" They asked in unison.
Selena approached them, smiling. "All the places you were sent to had one thing in common."
The three knights started recapitulating all the elements. "First we went to school..." Quirin began. "Then to the playground..." Adira continued. "After that we went to the section of birth certificates to the archives, and the last clue was about a crib." Hector finished.
The Brotherhood kept looking for a connection until...
Quirin, Adira and Hector were out of breath. "*gasp* Oh boy, are you two…?"
Edmund and Selena detected a three-layer cake of lilac color, with the pink and blue colored borders, white flakes, and a crown on top. "We're having a baby!"
The three knights were amazed at the news, they were clearly shocked. Quirin was the first to break the silence. "It's... It's beautiful, guys. We're very happy for you, but what does this have to do with us?"
Selena gave the knights a warm and sincere smile. "What have you to do with it? Well, let's say that with this baby, we made you... uncles and aunt."
"We will become..." Hector began. "Uncles and..." Quirin continued. "Aunt?" Adira ended. The three remained speechless, only to light up with joy. "This is the best gift ever!" The three of them rushed to the two rulers and hugged them, only to enjoy a sweet lunch together.
