Hector, together with his two binturongs, descended into the cliff where Rapunzel's caravan had ended up. He walked over to where he was stuck in the river, then snapped his fingers to order Milù and Fluffy to search the caravan to see if there were any bodies. The binturongs entered it and began to make a mess of it. Hector peeked to see better, but there wasn't even a shadow of the bodies; however, he saw that his binturongs had taken a liking to one of the shirts.

"What's up with you two? It's just a shirt." Hector scolded them and the two animals left. "Looks like our work isn't done yet." Then with a kick he sent the caravan away for the river.

(Time Skip)

Inside the Great Tree, Rapunzel, and her party along with Adira had camped out to rest while Cassandra stayed awake to keep watch and expressed her frustration that she never got a chance to prove herself and wished to finally prove her worth, no longer wanting to be sidelined or overshadowed (singing Waiting in the wings). Shortly after, she sat down at the foot of a tree, but was startled by Hector and his binturongs. However, Adira intervened and ordered Hector to let Cassandra go. Hector threw Cassandra against a wall, cut down a tree with his sword to prevent the others from intervening, and began fighting Adira. After a while, Hector defeated Adira, crashing her into a tree. Afterwards, he jumped onto the tree he had cut down earlier to take care of Rapunzel himself, but was stopped by Cassandra, who had fully recovered, and they began dueling while the two binturongs would take care of the others. So, the two began to fight, Hector initially got the better of Cassandra and threw her to the ground; however, he was distracted when he saw Milù and Fluffy who, after sniffing Eugene, were rubbing affectionately on his legs. He gasped and then a memory occurred to him.

(Flashback) Hector was in the courtyard of the castle together with Quirin, Adira, Edmund, Selena and two-year-old Prince Horace, there were also his binturongs: Hector had finally convinced Edmund and Selena to let Horace interact with Milù and Fluffy. Edmund walked up to his knight. "Hector, I warn you that if those two animals maul him… I will maul you." The King warned him. "Relax, I explained well to Horace how he has to do it. You'll see." The Prince slowly approached the binturongs and gently extended his hand to the animals. Milù and Fluffy approached the child's hand, sniffed it, and jumped on Horace. The adults covered their eyes not wanting to look, however as soon as they heard giggles, they started to peek, and they calmed down. "*giggle* Hey, stop, you tickle me, I can't resist *giggle*!" Milù and Fluffy were licking the Prince's face, tickling him while Horace giggled happily. (End of flashback)

Hector was so taken with what he was seeing that he forgot he was fighting, and Cassandra threw dust in his eyes and sent him tumbling down a ravine, and his binturongs followed. However, Hector survived the fall, and found Lord Demanitus' spear embedded in the heart of the Tree of Zhan Tiri. Although he knew that releasing the spear would awaken the tree's ancient evil, Hector pulled it out anyway, but soon after the tree's power was unleashed, and the knight was possessed. Controlled by the tree, Hector started attacking Rapunzel and his friends and nearly defeated them. However, Rapunzel used the Moonstone's Incantation to destroy the tree and the plants holding Hector and her friends. With the tree weakened and collapsed, Hector has gained enough senses to tell Rapunzel that Adira is lying to her, warning her that if she goes to the Dark Kingdom, she'll be doomed. The plants let go of him, knocking him back down the deep ledge. Adira jumped off and managed to save herself and Hector. When the Great Tree was destroyed, Adira found Hector weak, but alive.

"Hector!" Adira found the knight under the rubble. "Thank goodness you're fine."

Adira held out her hand to help him up which Hector accepted, then stood up. "It's him, isn't it?" He asked her.

Adira nodded and smiled sincerely at him. "Yes. He was another reason I wanted to ask you to return to the Dark Kingdom." Hector was silent for a moment, then replied: "Then I'll go with you." Adira smiled again. "I'm glad you understand."

As the two were about to climb up, Hector suddenly stopped. "Wait! I have to get something first." Hector went back to get what he needed to get. Then he returned to Adira and the two went up.

Above the chasm, the party watched the conversation between the two knights, though they didn't know what they were talking about. After a while, Adira joined the group with Hector.

"I'm coming with you." Hector announced. "You will certainly need my help along the way, and Adira and I will try to reason with the King when we get to the Dark Kingdom."

Though amazed, Rapunzel stepped forward. "Okay. Now you're with us." She smiled at him and held out her hand and he shook it. And so, everyone resumed their journey to the Dark Kingdom. Hector, his binturongs and rhino and Adira fell at the end of the pack.

Adira approached the knight and asked him: "Out of curiosity, what did you have to take?"

"These." Hector showed Adira two toy swords that were in his satchel. "Do you remember… we always played with these swords with him."

"Yes." Adira smiled at the memory of when she, Hector, and Quirin played with those swords with Horace, and then it occurred to her. "You know when I was helping them through the forest of no return and we had camped for the night, I had dropped the crib mobile from when he was a baby, and he had a dream that maybe seemed more like a memory."

"Maybe the contact with that one gave him back a memory." Reflects Hector.

"Maybe, but let's remember that Edmund has the vial to restore his memories." Said Adira. "We need to keep quiet on the matter until we get home, okay?"

"Okay, sister." Hector agreed. The two members of the Brotherhood continued the journey together with Rapunzel's group, hoping that when they arrive Horace (namely Eugene) will find his family.
