A/N hey everyone I'm back with chapter 4. Of this story I hope you guys are enjoying this I'm working really hard on trying to get theses chapters out I should mention that this story is being told from both Thor's POV and Chavez's POV I just thought I'd let you know that in case you were wondering no I don't own any of the Young Guns characters just Thor the German Shepherd dog so enjoy chapter 4. and adios amigos
Chapter 4. Getting Money From Chisum
Thor's POV:
It didn't take long before we arrived at Mr Chisum's ranch as we approached a servant rang a bell and Chisum came out and he didn't look too please to see us as we stopped Chisum stopped in front of us
Well by god you really turned out to be a snake Billy when they catch you they're going to dry out your bones Chisum said
I'm just trying to get us to old Mexico and we need some pesos now I've done some figuring and I figure you owe us 250 for the fighting we did last year and 250 for me leaving your stock alone Billy concluded
Is that what you figure? Chisum asked looking ready to laugh
Yes sir that's what I figured Billy replied
Well you can take those figures and shove them up your arrogant little ass and set fire to them I don't own you a got damn thing now get the hell out of here I'll bring my 50 down and give you a real game Chisum respond
Yeah we saw some of your men up there on the high range passed right by them fine bunch Dave said
Mr Chisum you're right we just want to get out of here get down below Doc added
Oh you'll get down below alright Doc you'll get down below you're Billy The Kid to you know you all are dirty little Billy bastards and I don't own you anything Doc or you Chavez Chisum chastised
You took my farm Mr Chisum Hendry spoke up you took a lot of farms Mr Chisum as long as Billy is taking some back I'm with him
Everything alright Mr Chisum? A Mexican man asked
Yes go on and bring the men in and we'll have a fresh coffee with the boys here Chisum replied
Yhooo I'll make you famous Billy pulling out his gun Mr Chisum which one the fastest with iron?
Don't you do it Billy Chisum warned
That'd be me another Mexican man replied
You drop Sam colt Billy told the first Mexican man put it down now and step away
I watched Billy get off his horse and hand the reins to Chavez before walking a little aways I saw the two Mexican guys looking nervous then I realized that Billy was playing game with them before he killed them I whined softly I had a bad feeling if only I could warn them but I couldn't and I felt bad for those two Mexican guys they were about to be killed and there wasn't anything I could do to stop it from happening
You owe me 500 dollars Mr Chisum so I'm gonna do is kill one of your men for every 5 dollars you owe me only I'm going to do it fair Billy said taking his gun belt off and chucks it a couple feet from him now when I go for my guns you started shooting but I promise you will not make it
I watched as helplessly as one of Mexican guys unclips his gun belt and before we knew it a gunshot blasted and the Mexican guy was knocked down dead apparently Billy had said Dave and Dave shot the guy then other Mexican guy started trying to retrieve his gun Billy called upon Hendry but Hendry couldn't get his gun out and just when I thought that Billy was going to be a dead man another gunshot blasted the second Mexican guy and we all looked over and see Doc with a gun I was shocked I whispered and Chavez gently petted me to try and calm me down
490 Billy said
You just killed yourself Chisum replied causing Doc to throw down his rifle out shame and take off Bonny you are a fool you call yourself the scourge of New Mexico well my god I'am New Mexico and you are dead
Well I'll tell you something Mr New Mexico I wouldn't give a bucket of piss for your future skin out boys Billy said
Billy picked up Doc's gun and we rode off Billy decided that if it was too much of hardship for Chisum to give us any money well then we'd help him out by just take a few of his cows we took the cows to a cattle auction while there Hendry wanted to have a nickname but Billy told him that he had to earn a nickname afterwards we went to an abandoned rundown looking house we decided to get some rest there for a little while Chavez laid down on his back and I curled up beside him and we fell asleep right then and there it was a peaceful sleep until Billy interrupted it by shooting off his guns causing all of us to wake up in a panic Chavez was the first to get up he ran out towards the shooting with his guns out I followed behind barking like a maniac only to find out that Billy was shooting at a newspaper which annoyed me
What did they do now spell your name wrong? Doc asked being sarcastic
We got a new sheriff on us boys goes by the name Pat Garrett Billy announced
Jesus Christ "what the hell did he do that for? Doc asked standing up beside Billy shocked
Trying to make himself famous be a known man like me Billy replied holding the newspaper out for everyone to see
"What about me? "What did they say about me? Dave asked eagerly
Nothing Dave he's playing the game Doc we'll give him the game alright Billy said
I couldn't believe what I just heard Pat Garrett was the new sheriff and he was going to hunt down Billy The Kid I really starting to worry about Chavez now I walked over to Chavez and gently nudged his leg to get his attention
What is it Thor? Chavez asked baffled
I whined softly feeling well to be honest scared and I guess Chavez sense that because he kneeled down and I looked at him with fear in my eyes mostly fear for his safety Chavez decided to let me walk for a bit and I was fine with that Dave tried to be the leader but of course nobody was listening to him Billy even went so far as to make a bet for the last one out drinks dirty dish water we walked for awhile Chavez was leading the way everything was uneventful until we stopped at an Indian burial ground Chavez stopped everyone from going any further
Woe Chavez said holding his hand up signaling everyone to stop burial ground warm springs people Apache
We better get going Ton said
We'll go around Chavez replied
Ah Chavez why don't you go peck shit with the chickens "huh? Do you know what they're paying for an Apache bone right now Christ almighty they're making ash trays knife handles you get 50 cents for a good Indian leg bone it's all out there so don't you go getting sentimental about it "alright? Come on Dave said trying to go forward but Chavez stopped him by griping his arm tightly
You go in there smart gringo and I'll bury you there Chavez warned
Okay Dave replied looking at Chavez a little worried
Let's go Chavez said turning his horse to his left
But as soon as Chavez's back was turned Dave immediately went into the burial ground and started messing with a grave screaming something about silver city and before I knew it Chavez came running towards Dave screaming before tackling him to the ground Dave went and pulled out his gun but Chavez began wrestling with it trying to knocking out of his hand which he finally does and both stand up pulling out knives I knew Chavez was a knife expert and everything but I stayed alert then I saw Dave throw sand into Chavez's eyes before knocking him down and then my heart nearly stopped when Dave went to stab Chavez but Chavez threw up his left arm and the knife wedged into his arm and Chavez cut Dave in the abdomen causing him to fall to the ground and reach for his gun but Billy and everyone else pulled their guns on Dave as Chavez slowly got up to his feet I heard Chavez asked Dave if he wanted his knife back and Dave got up holstered his gun and pulled out his knife muttering a thank you and I rushed to Chavez jump up on him whining softly examining his left arm
Chavez's POV: I was a little caught off guard when Thor jumped up on me whining softly and examining my left arm I gently petted him trying to calm him down I knew he was going to try and protect me when Dave and I got into that fight and I honestly couldn't blame him but I also didn't want him to get hurt
Easy now Thor easy now I'm alright bud it's just a little sore is all I told him while petting him
Thor licked the blood off my arm before jumping down off me and I walked over to my horse and got a bandage and wrapped it around my arm I knew that I needed to put medicine on it but chivato told us that we were headed to White Oaks and to Jane's place so I decided to wait until we got there to put medicine on my arm I gently picked Thor up and placed him on the saddle and we rode off to White Oaks were we would be able to rest at least for now so Thor and I were looking forward to that at least
