Fire crackled in the fireplace, illuminating the small room with its golden hues. On the wall to the left was a small window showing the gently falling snow outside- it was rare to see so much snow falls in Unova. An old man sat in a rocking chair, watching the world outside and swaying back and forth. Steps thundered down the hall and the door to the small room opened.

"Grandpa!" – a young girl, barely 5 years old, jumped in her grandpa's open arms.

"Be careful! I don't want you to trip and fall like last time." – the old man moved her, so she was no longer hanging off his bony knees.

"Ohkaaay!" she said and bounced in one spot "Grandpa! Ma said the lunch will be ready in an hour, so… can you read me a story while we wait?" – her eyes sparkled as she stared into his.

"A story, you say…" the man stroked his chin "Let's see… How about the story of 'The Two Great Dragons'?"

"Booo! I heard that before! Ms Phirus even read it to us last week! I want something else!" – the girl pouted.

"Okay." he put a hand on his granddaughter's head "Then, why don't you go and choose a book from grandpa's shelf?"

"Really?! I can choose?"

"Yes, choose whatever story you find interesting and grandpa will read it for you!"

"Okay!"

Her tiny feet carried her with surprising speed to the bookshelf on the wall. She squinted at the many colorful books- big, small, thin, thick, some even with really long and complicated words she couldn't understand or read yet. Then, something caught her eye- a small cyan-covered book in the bottom left corner. On its back were drawn a shiny pink pearl, a brilliant blue diamond and a golden 4-tipped star. She pulled the book out and jogged to her grandpa.

"This one!" – she presented her find proudly, her tiny chest puffing up.

The old man took the book closer and looked at its cover.

"Ah, this one!" he pulled his glasses out and perched them on his nose "I haven't read this one in a while!"

The little girl sat on the plush carpet in front of him, legs bouncing as she waited.

"Let's see… this is 'Hisuian Legends' – a very interesting book indeed! Ahem…" he cleared his throat and opened the book "Long time ago, in the age of exploration, where man traveled all around the world, sailed into the unknown, risked limb and life and brought back wonderous stories, there was one thing that still remained secretive, it is still like that, even to this day- the ocean. This is the story about the sea, the sky, the lands of Hisui, Sinnoh's ancient name and the legends that called it their home…"
