A/N: We pick up in the middle of the war around the identity reveal, it definitely does not play out exactly like canon because what fun would that be…
The Allied Forces were steadily merging all companies and fighting off White Zetsu everywhere. The word that the real Madara joined the war as a reanimation quickly spread, making the less skilled and experienced ninja nervous, but Kakashi, Guy, and Killer B were all still preoccupied with the fake masked Madara and the six reanimated Jinchūriki…
"Things aren't going well," Kakashi said anxiously to Guy.
"What do you mean there's only six of them? Since when are you scared?" Guy asked his rival bluntly.
Kakashi answered dryly. "I'm not going to act like this is easy. Six Jinchūriki with a Rinnegan, I think I'm allowed to be nervous."
"Believe in the power of youth, Kakashi." Guy said proudly.
Guy took the lead the two rivals they fought well for quite a while, dodging the unique jutsu of each of the reanimated Jinchūriki, until they were caught in a few harsh explosions, Killer B acting as their shield thanks to his full tailed beast transformation.
Kakashi was trying to catch his breath. "The four tails and the six tails jutsu are problems."
"We're definitely in a sticky situation, but perseverance can—." Guy started before he was cut off.
"I think we'rea outnumbered here, Guy." Kakashi said impatiently. "Focus!" He quickly ordered.
That wasn't easy, even tailed beast bombs from the eight tails didn't turn the tide because all the reanimated Jinchūriki had a Rinnegan.
"You've copied over a thousand jutsu, any ideas?" Guy asked.
"We just need to back up Killer B," Kakashi said bluntly.
Together they worked to distract the reanimated Jinchūriki and give an opening for Killer B to hit them with tailed beast bombs. Kakashi isolated three of them, surrounding them with shadow clones.
"Water Release Giant Vortex Jutsu!" Kakashi said hastily, his clones mimicking this perfectly.
Several large vortexes combined together into a high-speed hurricane of volatile water, it was enough that the three Jinchūriki caught in it couldn't focus the Rinnegan to escape.
"Guy smirked. "I see, pretty good, Kakashi—sixth gate of joy, open!" He exclaimed triumphantly.
With the way the sixth gate could displace bodies of water, Guy didn't have to worry even as Kakaahi's massive vortex of water saturated the ground. The end result saw Guy moving at a speed too fast for their opponents to react to, even with Rinnegan in one eye.
"Guy, pace yourself, no matter how many times we deal with reanimations they just come back." Kakashi quickly reminded.
Guy had a subdued confidence. "Yeah, not every day we fight ninja zombies that keep coming back to life."
Before long Kakashi was breathing hard, his entire body in a great deal of pain, Guy was hardly any better either.
"I wish Kamui wasn't useless right now but sending six reanimated Jinchūriki away is impossible." Kakashi admitted to Guy.
"I'm not passing out before my rival," Guy said defiantly.
Kakashi couldn't help but chuckle. "We're getting completely outmatched and you care about that stupid rivalry."
There was a loud bang from a short distance away and Killer B was blasted backward hitting the ground. The masked man landed triumphantly in front of him.
"You know you can't hit me and yet you continue to rap and rhyme as though it will make a difference, Just pathetic…" He was utterly bored.
Kakashi's thoughts raced anxiously. "He easily held his own against the tailed beast that has the most trust in its Jinchūriki…If this guy isn't Madara then who is he?"
"I don't know what you're thinking Kakashi but if any of the sealing teams come to this battlefield they will be killed. If Naruto is a savior of the war then where is he?" Guy was blunt.
"He must be fighting another battle somewhere one that requires a lot of chakra and makes maintaining shadow clones too difficult," Kakashi said calmly.
"What about the sealing teams they can't all be busy can they?" Guy asked anxiously.
"Headquarters says they and others are en route to us so we have to back up Killer B until then." Kakashi said calmly.
"Nothing you do will make a difference, you are nothing more than a coward." He had ice in his voice.
As if on cue Naruto and Sakura appeared, guarding the other three who were all exhausted, Sakura punched the ground, the fake Madara merely sank through the earth re-emerging on solid ground.
"Naruto Uzumaki, you are a chip off the old block, using your father's Flying Thunder God technique and it seems you even have this girl willingly marked. The real question is how did you get here. I'd have noticed marked Kunai lying around…" He said impatiently.
"At first I thought it was a trap at first but then I remembered my dad fought you the night I was born, he left his mark on you." Naruto said evenly.
"Funny, I don't remember telling you about that, and the only other person who could have mentioned it died shortly after his lucky break against me." He was annoyed now.
"My father trusted me to stop you, stop this war and I'm going to rip that mask right off your face!" Naruto was angry now.
"Not before I have extracted the nine-tailed fox from you, just as I did to your mother on the night you were born." He said smugly.
The taunt about his mother evaporated the rest of Naruto's patience, he rushed to attack outright forgetting that his enemy could move in and out of physical space easily.
"Naruto, calm down, you'll never beat him while you're in a blind rage, we need to figure out his Sharingan ability!" Sakura said anxiously.
"It's similar to my Kamui." Kakashi said grateful for Sakura's healing as his pain stopped.
"Are you saying this fake Madara moves in and out of black holes?" Sakura asked.
Kakashi sighed in frustration. "No, that's physically impossible, it would damage his body, it's got to be its own dimensional space, but he never disappears completely and we need figure out why."
"Well, I don't care if we can't hit him I'm going to help Naruto. Besides, Minato figured out this guy's jutsu in a few minutes, we can too!" Sakura was determined.
Try as they might none of their attacks landed and both Naruto and Sakura were left exhausted and newly frustrated.
"Ugh, there has to be a way to hit this guy," Naruto said angrily.
"I've grown tired of toying with you all." He said calmly. Still masking his identity Obito Uchiha summoned the Geto Statue. "The other-tailed beasts have already been captured and numbers eight and nine will join them shortly." The certainty in his voice was unsettling.
Sakura knew that Naruto wasn't yet skilled enough with his father's signature jutsu to transport himself while under pressure from the masked, fake Madara's attacks.
Admittedly infinitely more braver than she actually felt, Sakura was defiant. "I won't let you lay a finger on Naruto!"
He chuckled, mocking them all. "The Fourth Hokage is the only one who ever so much as touched me, you have no hope whatsoever of preventing what's about to happen."
Suddenly purple chains sprang from Obito's hand. Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi all dodged them but Killer B exhausted from dealing with all the reanimated Jinchuriki at once—he had been keeping them at bay in his full-tailed beast transformation wasn't so fortunate, his size left him an easy target and the chains caught him around the base of his neck.
"Octopops!" Naruto shouted rushing to help.
"Naruto…you'll just…get yourself…killed." She was holding him back through gritted teeth. "If we lose you, we're all dead." She was sympathetic but tried to be rational. "You have to calm down!"
"The eight tails will soon be extracted and he will die if we don't help!" He shouted desperately.
"Let me handle that while you three keep the other reanimated Jinchuriki busy!" She said, talking to Kakashi and Guy too. Then she activated the seal on her forehead. "I'm going to destroy those chains—summoning jutsu!" Lady Katsuyu appeared, at her largest since establishing a summoning contract with Sakura. "Lady Katsuyu, can your acid erode those chakra chains enough to free the eight tails?" Sakura asked quickly.
The slug queen was certain. "It will be painful, but yes my acid can melt even the toughest restraints and exoskeletons."
Sakura hastily warned Katsuyu. "I'm sure he can use those chains again, be careful."
Katsuyu gave serious assurance to her younger master and friend. "I existed long before the ten tails Sakura, the chains bound to its husk, and summoners have no power over me."
"That means you're hundreds of years old?" Naruto asked blankly.
"Naruto, show some respect!" Sakura said in frustration.
"Oh man, I'm sorry!" He said quickly to the towering slug queen.
"Whether ancient or not, a giant slug will not stop me from capturing and extracting the eight tails," Obito said calmly from behind his mask.
"My patience for cowards has been gone for a long time," Sakura said bluntly before making a single wood clone. "Naruto, tell me you have them with you."
"Yeah, I do." He answered knowingly.
"Then it's my turn." She said calmly.
"You think you can crack his mask?" He asked.
"Yeah, right off his face!" She said determinately.
"That would be quite a feat, but it's not something you can accomplish and a single wood clone will not help you free the eight tails from these demonic chains of the Geto Statue." He was amused by such delusion resilience.
"You want the nine tails, you have to defeat me." He insisted.
"Defeat you, all I need to do is catch you." He said with heavy bravado.
Naruto threw a Kunai, the real Sakura watched as it phased into the mask of this Madara impostor. Instantly, Sakura was in his face as the Kunai was passing through his mask but before it was no longer in contact with the mask itself.
"Cha!" She punched as hard as she could and it connected, the impact breaking it apart as pieces flew in every direction.
Obito was furious though he kept it to himself. "This girl understood my jutsu nearly as fast as the Fourth Hokage and she's done greater damage to me with a single punch than his Rasengan that night!"
Kakashi was still preoccupied with the other two, fighting all the reanimated Jinchuriki, but the noise drew his attention. "He can't move his body through something if something is already overlapping with that part of his body!" It was an epiphany. "Unfortunately for this fake Madara, Sakura's fist is what's overlapping with the Kunai and his head, that mask is destroyed…" He was immensely proud. However, when he saw the face behind the mask, he was sure it was a ghost. "It can't be…" In his distraction, Kakashi was hit by a massive blast of lava from the Jinchiriki of the four tails but got gingerly to his feet. "Obito."
Guy didn't know why Kakashi froze but rushed to defend his friendly rivalry. "You don't look so good, Kakashi. I will defend you, with the power of youth—Seventh Gate of Wonder…OPEN!" Guy's body began to sweat which seemed to evaporate as quickly as it formed, blue in nature this secretion could have been mistaken for chakra. It was an aura so intense it ruptured Guy's muscle fibers. Still, Guy built an immense amount of air pressure into a single fist, resembling a massive tiger, "HIRUDORA!"
The single punch of compressed air was massive and exploded at all his enemies with the force of multiple-tailed beast bombs. The display was so grand that it distracted Obito, allowing Sakura to punch him square in the chest, he went flying coughing up blood in the process, but it wasn't long before his body was healing and he transported next to the Geto Statue once again.
"You freed the eight tails from the demonic chains of the Geto Statue, to think a girl could have that much strength…" It was a begrudging acknowledgment. "It's just as meaningless as this cursed world."
"I hit you directly you should be struggling to move..." Sakura said bluntly.
"You did hurt me, which nobody has done since Mianto on that night 16 years ago, but you're not going to live long enough to do it again. Now, the four tails should be more than enough…" He was very angry for the first time.
Obito somehow forced Roshi to transform into the four tails and before he knew what was happening, Naruto found himself fighting against being swallowed.
"Dammit, why do large animals always try to eat me!" He yelled anxiously before activating the nine tails chakra mode. "Ugh still not strong enough…more power. But the giant ape closed his mouth trapping Naruto inside it.
Soon a new voice greeted him and Naruto found himself standing in another tailed beast's psyche plane, bound around the neck by chakra chains.
"I suppose now you want to take my power too, coming all the way in here? You obnoxious little brat!" He was quite angry.
"Wait, are you the four tails?" He asked blankly.
He shouted impatiently. "Don't you dare call me that! I have a proper name you know, Son Goku, the monkey king. Humans show no respect whatsoever!"
"Uh sorry about that." He chuckled nervously.
"Hm, you seem rather genuine for humans, it's the first person that has apologized to a tailed beast…I guess you didn't come to steal my power after all." Son Goku reluctantly admitted. Now that he was calm Son Goku could sense the tailed beast in this boy. "You have one inside you too, so that's how you got in here. It seems that Kurama trained you well." He said knowingly.
"Kurama, who's Kurama?" He asked blankly.
"You're his Jinchuriki and you don't even know his real name!" He said.
"Oh it's Kurama that's his name huh?" He said.
"You humans are all the same, we are nothing more than tools to achieve greater power you imprison us and deny us our status." He said irritably.
"I'm not the same as you, but I do understand the way you feel being ignored and feeling invisible. I'm a Jinchuriki and have a name I cherish too, Naruto. From my parents."
"So then, what would you want with us?" Son Goku asked.
"I would make sure you all were happy wether you were on your own or sharing someone's body and being friends, that's what I want. I'm actually kind of jealous of octopops and eighto over how well they work together." Naruto admitted shyly.
"Well I ate you so what are you going to do now?" He asked bluntly.
"Free you obviously, but I also have to get out of here so just tell me what to do. Mr uh…what was your name again?" Naruto asked blankly.
He sighed. "Just call me Son! Now listen closely…"
Back on the battlefield Obito realized where Naruto was hiding. "Ah that's where you are, well then I will just pull you in four tails and all." He said bluntly.
Naruto however was already forcing the four tails to vomit and spit him out by using a small army of regular shadow clones, keeping just one on the inside for what he still had to do.
"Now to pull out that stupid chakra rod that is if I can find it first." He muttered anxiously to himself.
Meanwhile, Katsuyu had split herself off and was healing the others but nothing could seem to fix Kakashi's mental state, he hadn't moved in quite sometime with Sakura's, wood clone, Killer B and Guy protecting him as they continued fighting against the reanimated Jinchuriki…
"Kakashi Sensei snap out of it!" Sakura shouted. Then she turned to the slug queen. "Lady Katsuyu, can you stick around? Something tells me you'll be needed."
"Yes, of course." She said calmly.
"What's wrong with Kakashi I haven't seen Kakashi so shaken since we were kids," Guy said quite subdued.
"I think, it's got something to do with the real me destroying the mask of the fake Madara. The moment he saw his face, it was like he'd seen a ghost." Sakura said anxiously.
Guy couldn't get a focused look at the newly revealed enemy but there was definitely something familiar about him specifically… "I can't put my finger on it but I feel like I know that guy too…" Guy's attention was diverted to Naruto however. "Hey is it just me or is Naruto playing tug of war with a tailed beast?" Guy said curiously.
Sakura's immediate assumption was that Naruto was in another internal chakra tug of war with the nine tails. She was thankful to notice that Guy was being quite literal. "It seems like he is trying to pull something out of the four tails, maybe whatever the guy who isn't Madara is using to control them." She said calmly.
Unfortunately Obito, in an attempt to both stop and capture Naruto bound him by an individual set of demonic statue chains. "These chains bind all they touch, it's over Naruto Uzumaki!" He said triumphantly.
From cooperation with the single shadow clone using sage mode inside the mouth of the four tails, Naruto in his nine tails chakra mode successfully pulled out the rod controlling it, making Obito use the Geto Statue, but he deflected the attack using a Rasengan. Naruto was caught, his fall cushioned by the hand of the newfree-from-control king of sage monkeys.
It seemed that Naruto was permanently part of Son's psyche plane. "Why is that chain still there I pulled the rod out just like you said." He was out of breath and confused.
"It seems like that one just won't go away, all that chain does is temporarily bind my chakra to the Jinchuriki's body...My chakra itself is owned by the guy that was behind the mask before that female human destroyed." Son said was angry again.
"You already knew about that! Then I didn't end up saving you at all." He was even more furious at this fake Madara now.
"You mean that?" He asked still surprised.
"Yeah of course I do!" He insisted.
"I told you how you could stop me but I didn't actually tell you how you could save me." Son finally realized that this kid, however naïve was his best shot at freedom for his kind.
He sighed. "You should have just told me that from the beginning. Man, why can't tailed beasts just be more straightforward…Alright, what do I do?"
"Hold out your hand and connect it with mine it will link our chakra together. It will come in hand against the one who controls the rest of us tailed beasts, hurry up I can feel that he is sealing me back inside the Geto Statue." He said hastily
Naruto did just as he was told and felt additional power merge with the rest of the chakra already part of his own. Lucky too as Son was pulled back into to the Geto Statue. Naruto was clearly exhausted, something that didn't go unnoticed by Obito.
"You're all worn out from stopping just one tailed beast. You cannot defy me, I should take the precious tailed beasts that you possess." He said harshly.
Obito forced all the other Jinchuriki to transform leaving everyone in a dangerous position, something even Kurama admitted.
Karuma was torn between frustration and amusement."You're all worn out and that's bad however you look at it, it looks like I have to help you Naruto, you brat. You're lucky I would rather deal with you than that fake Madara, just hit my chakra with yours and then remove this cage." It was a very begrudging tone.
"Chakra tug of war again?" He asked skeptically.
"Idiot, I'm sharing my chakra by choice so we don't need to do that, but you should know that I'm only doing this because I don't have any other options. You use my full power when I let you, got it Naruto!" He said with impatient anger.
"What's that saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend." He chuckled.
"Just shut up and focus, we have less than five minutes in full tailed beast transformation." He warned.
"We'll get every last one of those rods!" Naruto was more than determined enough.
Suddenly, Killer B sensed that the other tailed beasts were about to launch five tailed beast bombs.
"Okay, things are getting dangerous," Guy admitted, starting to sweat. "I'm going to have to open the eighth gate!"
Hearing this brought Kakashi out of his shock. "No, you can't Guy, if you do that, you'll die!"
"Yeah, but we'll die anyway if we don't do something and your Kamui won't cut it." He said anxiously.
"Lady Katsuyu we're the only ones who can protect everyone." Sakura said steeling herself.
Katsuyu quickly warned her. "Sakura, no living being is meant to lose that much chakra instantly."
Kakashi had an idea. "Maybe I can blast them with my Kamui if you lend me your chakra, Sakura, you're constantly putting a portion of your chakra into that seal on your forehead right."
Naruto instantly panicked watching the other tailed beasts. "I have to help the others, not even Flying Rajin can transport five tailed beast bombs!" He said anxiously.
"You don't think do you Naruto, you grabbed and threw that other brat Sakura using my chakra once already, if you keep being an idiot I'll take over your body and fight the rest of the war myself!" Kurama threatened him, feeling annoyed.
"Hey! Why are you so angry all the time, it's not easy to remember everything I can do in this mode especially when you wouldn't cooperate with me!" Naruto yelled equally angry.
"Are you going to complain like a brat and let your friends die, or actually use the power I'm willing to share with you and save them!" He said his anger rising.
Naruto didn't need to be told twice and willed the nine tails chakra to quickly intercept and deflect all the tailed beast bombs at the same time. Kakashi seemed momentarily stuck in eternity seeing his Sensei step in front and defend them all from what would have been a deadly attack, but then the memory vanished and multiple distant explosions brought Kakashi back to his senses.
"Extra arms! Since when can Naruto form the nine-tails chakra into things like that?" Kakashi asked, turning to Sakura, astonished.
Sakura smiled. "He has more control than the first time when he threw me at a tailed beast bomb to knock it away from Darui's company. It seems like Kurama is willing to cooperate a little with Naruto, for now anyway."
"He deflected them all," Obito said angrily, "In that case I'll have to go after him like I mean to kill." He said calmly.
"We have to cancel that out with one of our own. Are you sure you can focus long enough for that?" Kurama challenged skeptically.
"I was going to ask you that?" He chuckled.
Kurama was harshly blunt. "Listen, we're not like that brat B and the eight tails! We probably only have less than two minutes for a tailed beast transformation. So don't waste time grab the rods and then after that we deal with the faker in the mask!"
"You said we?" Naruto said with a smirk.
"Shut up, you brat!" Kurama said bitterly.
Obito forced the other tailed beasts to combine their chakra into a single-tailed beast bomb, about a planet in size. The full-tailed beast transformation was unlike anything Naruto had felt of Karuna's power before now. The others watched as Naruto used a tailed beast bomb of equal size to cancel out the one Obito fired to kill. The force of the collision was massive and drastically altered the surrounding area within a rather large radius. Naruto managed to force both up to the sky before they exploded in midair.
Kurama yelled impatiently. "Naruto, hurry up and pull the rods from the rest of the tailed beasts, I don't have a lot of time left in the transformation. Maybe 15 seconds."
"15 seconds, huh? No problem!" He said with determination.
Unfortunately, the rods were much harder to pull out than they seemed even with the nine-tails chakra and the transformation ended abruptly.
"It seems you have quite a big problem," Obito said smirking. "The nine tails…quite difficult to control through sheer force of will. Only Hashirama ever managed such a feat. That's why I think I will take it for myself now." He said triumphantly.
Naruto was too exhausted to escape as Obito bound him with demonic statue chains. "Ugh, dammit…who the hell are you because the real Madara doesn't need to hide behind the power of the tailed beasts," Naruto said struggling defiantly.
Obito finally put an end to his façade using his real voice. "You might be right but in the end it doesn't matter who I am. The nine-tailed fox will be mine the second your exhaustion catches up with you."
Sakura redid the lock on the seal again. "I've got to protect them."
"You call this protecting, caging me again!" Kurama said angrily.
"Do you want to instantly be at the mercy of the Sharingan again? Locking you behind the seal at least buys me time to stop him." She said impatiently.
"He'll penetrate this place any moment, you're the only one standing between that faker and my extraction." He warned in reluctant agreement and.
"Yeah, so you should trust Naruto and me more from now on, Kurama." She said emphasizing his name. "If you'd done that, your transformation with Naruto would have lasted long enough to free the other tailed beasts, luckily B and the eight tails were capable of finishing that job."
Kurama growled. "Just get ready."
Obito realized quickly that something was preventing the extraction of the nine tails.
"I sense additional chakra contained in your seal. You're only delaying the inevitable." He said seriously."
"You do not know who you are messing with." Naruto said, laughing smugly even though he was in increasing pain.
The bitterness in his voice was clear. "I controlled the nine tails once before. The only thing that stopped me was your father and a contract seal. Nobody has the power or skill to save you from me. I control all the other tailed beasts."
"I wouldn't be too sure about that. Looks like the reanimation jutsu…has been released." Naruto said feeling relief despite his situation…Itachi and Sasuke it seemed…had done it.
The others reacted immediately but Sakura took the lead. "That light, the reanimation jutsu is releasing. It should incapacitate the other tailed beasts long enough to free Naruto."
"Guy and Killer B fend off the other tailed beasts when they regain consciousness, Sakura and I will rescue Naruto." Kakashi hastily assured them.
"Hang on, Naruto," Sakura said determinedly.
"Someone in your Allied Forces stopped Kabuto!" He said angrily.
"Obito, why are you doing— "
"I have nothing to say to trash like you, Kakashi! "Stopping the reanimation jutsu won't sever my control over the other tailed beasts…luckily for Naruto the tailed beast transformation ended so fast that it appears I have to get past the seal but I will extract the nine tails." He said with a not so suppressed rage.
With Guy and Killer B occupying all the other tailed beasts, Kakashi and Sakura focused on Obito, and by extension rescuing Naruto.
"So you're Obito, release Naruto right now. It doesn't matter that you were Kakashi Sensei's old teammate that won't stop me from killing you." Sakura warned fiercely.
"You…stop me? So naïve." He laughed bitterly.
Sakura warned with blunt seriousness. "I destroyed your mask and hit you hard enough to make sure you bled internally, maybe you're the one that is naïve, Obito!"
"I know the curse of this world but a world of dreams can only be a paradise," Obito said as if he was superior.
"The rest of us aren't giving up this reality without fighting to our last breath!" Sakura said seriously.
Obito recalled every tailed beast, as he didn't have full control over the captured creatures now that they weren't bound to a host any longer.
"The seal won't deter my Sharingan, I will take the nine-tailed fox." He said darkly.
Whatever Obito thought of the tailed beast psyche plane, he didn't expect that the seal and its cage would be so out in the open, it seemed too easy...
"You're not Madara Uchiha, get out." Kurama said threatening.
"You're coming with me, nine tails." He said bluntly.
"Hey, he told you to get out, Obito," Sakura warned sharply.
"You…Only the Sharingan can enter other planes of existence. How are you here?" Obito couldn't help his curiosity.
She laughed. "There's more than one way to exist in other planes of existence, it's not exclusive to your Kamui, not that you need to know how I'm here."
"You think you can stop me? How foolish. The nine tails will be mine." He said calmly, "Your additional chakra makes no difference. Naruto has no means to escape his bonds."
Obito activated his Sharingan and attempted to Kamui past the seal but he was repelled by an invisible force.
"What is going on?" He demanded with sharp anger.
She was blunt. "You clearly don't understand where you are, this is a psyche plane, you can try all you want to brute force your way around this place but it doesn't work that way."
He was full of rage. "If I have to obliterate every last trance of your chakra before I can get to the demon fox I will do it, and Naruto will die, just as Kushina once did. Actually, I think I will just kill you on the battlefield and then return here!"
The battlefield was still in chaos as the others continued to fend off additional White Zetsu, but Sakura was focused on nothing but Obito.
"Like I said I won't hesitate to kill you!" Sakura said confidently.
"Don't make me laugh, the only thing that happens next is Kakashi watches while I slaughter two of his precious students, but by all means, try and kill me. It's been years since anyone even came close, it's your life to throw away, Sakura." He said triumphantly.
Sakura wasn't stupid she knew she knew she might die here, but she also knew that Naruto was bound and in danger of having the nine tails extracted, Kakashi was not in the mental condition to fight, and Guy and Killer B were keeping White Zetsu away. She had to buy time for the rest of the Allied forces to arrive, she also couldn't shake the feeling that the real Madara had survived the release of the reanimation jutsu and was on his way here having defeated the five kage rather easily. Yes, things were not exactly in her favor but no matter what Obito Uchiha was in for the fight of his life.
A/N: Yeah in true Naruto fashion I ended on a cliffhanger. It's beneficial because it allows me to set up where things are going while giving me the time to decide how I want to get there.
I'm sure you noticed that Sakura got the big Obito reveal moment, and Naruto and Kaurma are on speaking terms but far from the willing team that they were so quickly in cannon, they will get there just not as fast, it raises the stakes and makes them less of a Deus ex machina solution. These things are on-purpose decisions I have plans for.
