Chapter Seven

Recap

My heart sinks as I forgot that crucial part in everything. He was my best friend, could he be shown the truth and be persuaded to our side….

Or would he be our enemy with the rest of the order. Only this year will tell.

This Time

The next few days passed with only one incident, it seemed Ron regained enough balls to write to his dear Mummy about the Veela attack.

She wrote very angry letters to them.

Accusing them of faking being Veelas, of attacking Ron out of jealousy…

So many excuses for ickle Ronniekins.

The only response the boys gave was tearing the letters up

They were done with the redhead matriarch and her family.

The only comfort was that she and Ron would soon be dealt with.

As promised my parents wrote to Draco, and he wrote to me about everything.

It was nice sending letters back and forth with my beloved twin.

Since I have my memories back I have a pang of loneliness sometimes knowing I can't be around him.

He was a very protective brother and I can see that he wishes we could openly talk.

Whenever we could get alone time, the twins and I would shift into our natural looks.

I hated being caged as mudblood Granger, and I knew the twins hated being seen as redheaded blood traitors.

Under the context of detention the Twins went to Severus's classroom almost every night to learn more about their Veela inheritance.

We found out that Severus was in fact a Veela himself.

It took some time before he revealed to us the identity of his mate…

It was Siruis Black!

"I thought Severus and Sirius hated each other, how are they mates?" I question my twins quietly while we're in the library studying.

"Apparently it was all an act so Dumblefool wouldn't know." Adonis leans in to whisper.

"He said that our father instructed him to make a facade about loving Harry's mom so Dumblebat would think him loyal." Apollo continues after his twin.

I let this information sink in before asking my next question.

"It's a strange pairing, what about Sirius being on the light side?" I was trying to make sense of this.

Even as children we never saw Severus with anybody romantically, let alone Sirius Black.

I can see Apollo's gray eyes sparkle, relishing in knowing information that I myself didn't.

For once.

"Uncle Sev said that Sirius was a double agent like himself, they got together in their third year and devised this plan to fool everyone." Apollo says, an impressed tone clear in his voice.

"Pettigrew was still a rat and was desperate to be loyal to our father; he almost ruined everything." Adonis takes a breath.

"When it was said Sirius was in Azkaban, he was really with Uncle Sev. He 'broke out' last year as a diversion to distract from the Death Eaters starting to get more active. Now he's back with Uncle Sev, pretending to be on the run." As Apollo finishes Adonis's sentence it all makes sense in my head.

I settled into a quiet routine with my twins, walks by the lake, study sessions in the library, sleeping on a couch in the dorm, we spent every minute we could together.

As I already guessed they were determined to enter the tournament.

Apollo's brilliant idea was an 'age up' potion.

Adonis was going to ask Severus if there was anything to be done.

They tried to enter using Apollo's idea but all that came from it was long white beards and headaches.

Adonis didn't have better luck with Severus, so as it were I was stuck with sullen twins.

It was a bit funny watching them mope, especially after they learned Krum was entering.

They also didn't like how he hung around the library, staring at me constantly.

In my lessons I tried to avoid Ron, which wasn't easy, he did everything he could to be next to me when he saw I was without the twins.

Harry would thankfully insert himself in between and keep Ron at a distance.

This angered Ron more and I could see annoyance growing clear in Harry's attitude.

"Why can't I sit beside Hermione? You always do and I need her help with this potion" Ron whined like a child to Harry.

It was frightening that he could act like he was such a victim.

"Ron, it's not a big deal, calm down." Harry snapped back to him, I knew he was getting fed up playing interference.

He would have to choose eventually and I prayed to Salazar he chooses the right side.

"If it's not a big deal then switch." He was still whining, his voice taking on a whimper.

Harry rolled his eyes and didn't even respond.

Nothing would get through to him, his entitlement was dangerous.

"Oh you're too good to respond now huh Harry?" Ron's voice was getting louder in volume.

With every inch of his sentence I saw Harry tense and get more agitated.

I could see he was close to his wits end.

"It's because of me you have somewhat of a family, don't forget that" Ron's tone had become mocking with pity and threats.

With that comment I could see the last of Harry's resolve fade away.

"You know what Ron, whatever." Harry finished in a defeated tone.

It broke my heart knowing my best friend gave up that easily.

Ron smiled gleefully, thankfully he made noise while he moved and Severus's stare narrowed on him.

"Weasley" He sneered at the name.

"Why are you out of your seat, it is class time, or are you so dunderheaded you forgot where you were?" It was Severus now that was mocking and Ron did not like it.

"Bloody hell is his problem now" Ron muttered under his breath as he continued to move to sit beside me.

Severus could see how uncomfortable I was and thankfully intervened again.

"Detention Weasley and sit up here, before I take 100 points from Gryffindor" He barked and pointed at the seat beside Draco.

The magic coming off of him was raw and dangerous.

This was not a wizard practicing light magic in the slightest.

He stalked his way to Draco and looked murderously at Harry and I.

I knew Draco would make him miserable.

The rest of the day passed quietly with Ron ignoring Harry and I.

I was upset with Harry for giving in to Ron's demands so easily.

Harry offered me a feeble apology, really just saying that Ron had more to offer, and he really didn't want to be in the middle.

I planned on bringing this up to my twins.

If Harry was determined to take Ron's side then he was the enemy.

No matter how much it pained me, I would do anything for my family.

Also anything to spite the light.

Everyone was gathered in the Great Hall after dinner, excitement buzzing in the air.

It was time to see who the three champions were.

First from Drumstrang was Krum, no surprise there.

The twins cheered even though they wished it were them.

Then from Beauxbouton was a beautiful girl; Fleur Delacroix

Finally from Hogwarts, everyone held their breath.

It was Cedric Diggory, he was a Hufflepuff, nice lad.

Cheers eurrupted from the Hufflepuffs the most.

Finally; they would have glory

As everyone was cheering the Goblet sparked up purple fire and another name was thrown our.

"HARRY POTTER"

Dumbledore shouted, you could hear the anger in his tone.

I resisted a smirk, knowing this was most likely apart of the plan Severus was speaking about.

Harry, to his credit just sat there frozen till Dumbledore called his name again.

He was truly shocked and it panged my heart for just a second.

Before I remember myself and it doesn't hurt anymore.

He walked up slowly, confused no doubt but Dumbledore just grabs him.

He was then ushered up and pushed into the room with the champions.

Everyone was quiet, I could see Ron two rows down from me.

Once again dark magic coming off of him.

You could feel his jealousy for Harry bubbling to the surface.

A sour look on his face, as he beings to talk to Dean Thomas beside him.

I exchange a look with Severus and he gives me an imperceptible nod that this was what he was talking about.

As everyone was dismissed, the twins and I headed to the library for homework and to research what we could do for the upcoming year.

If the Dark Lord really was to return we needed to do whatever we could to help the cause.
