Harry's Past

When Harry woke up after being blacked out by the impact of AK, everything changed. His brother was being proclaimed as a Hero as he stopped the Voldie and AK. He even saw the legendary scar in his brother's forehead. When he felt a pain at his chest he saw a lightening shaped scar similar to his brother on his chest. Later he came to know that Dumbles came to their home along with their parents, checked them and found the Dark presence in Charles scar, and hailed him as the boy who lived. When he checked Harry, there was no magical core as it was extremely depleted due to stopping the AK and certified Harry as a squib. He also said the scar would be because of the debris around the room. This was a shock to the Potters, but what was interesting was that James was enraged by the thought. He might be friendly with werewolves, Muggleborns etc. But, his own son, moreover his own heir is a squib irked him a lot. He wanted to cast him out immediately, but Lily stopped him from doing so and asked to wait for few years to check his magic grows as Lily loved both her children so much and never wanted to lose neither of them.

As years passed, James started to dote Charles more and more, and avoid Harry. This even irked his bestfriend Sirius who was Harry's godfather and caused a rift between Sirius and James, and he only visited the house to see Harry, that too when James is not there, just like how Harry's godmother Alice visited him. Remus was vary about this, but kept mum because of his obligation to James and his love for his godchild, Charles. Lily was shocked by this dark side of James, felt about leaving him, but stayed as he was good in all other sense but this, and never abused Harry. As for Charles, from that day onwards he became more and more airhead, pompous, bullying and even blamed Harry for everything Charles did.

One day when they were 5 years old, James was telling Lily about how his colleagues envied and praised him for his son's feat, how proud he was about Charles, Harry got enraged about it and yelled back at James about his accounts of Hallow night. This enraged James and he slapped Harry in the face, and declared that he was trying to be considerate to him, but he has crossed the limit now and even called Harry a glory hound. He decided to cast Harry out of the family. Lily begged him not to do it, but he was set. Seeing there was no other option, Lily asked him to give Harry to her parents and give him the Evans name, so that atleast he will have a life. Though James was not interested in this idea, he went on with it. Lily's parents were enraged with James' decision, but they doted their grandchildren so much, especially Harry. So they took him in. James spread the news that Harry died in an unfortunate accident. The only ones who knew the truth was Sirius and Amelia Black, Frank and Alice Longbottom, Remus, Lovegoods, Dumbles and Filtwick who was Lily's Mastery guide.

Harry went to muggle school like any normal kid. His godparents and their families visited him frequently, and Harry even became best friends with his godbrother Neville and Amelia's niece Susan. He even saw Sirius' son Aries and Neville's sister Augusta as his own siblings. His mother was the only one in his family, who kept in contact with him. She told him, how much she missed him, how much she started to disgust Charles' pompousness but can't leave them because of James, who still care for her other kids and loves her. He was 7 years old when his mother gave birth to his sister Dorea Potter. Harry's grandfather was a former British Army Officer, Captain Harrold Evans. He is ex-SAS. Hearing stories of his missions were fascinating for Harry, and wanted to join SAS when he was just 8 years old itself, even if he knew of a possibility of having a magical job. Yes, Harry's magic was slowly developing, showing accidental magical bouts and will in all probability reach to the level of a normal Hogwarts fresher student by 11. His mother was happy his magic was growing and kept it a secret from Potters to not cause any issues.

Harry came to know from his mother that, 2 years after he was cast out, Dumbles started training Charles, like basics of magic, light politics, etc. though he wasn't making much improvement. It was sure to his mom that, the moment Charles gets his wand, Dumbles will start spells. Dumbles had wanted to send Harry away from the time he was found to be a squib. This created a not so good impression about this man in Harry's mind.

When he was 11, Mcgonagall came to his house to give his house to give his Hogwarts letter. She was shocked to see Harry, as she thought he was dead. Though Harry was interested in learning magic, he was sad that he can't join SAS, which was his dream, with a Hogwarts degree. But, his mother suggested that he atleast try to study at Hogwarts till his OWLs and then he can go back to muggle world if want, otherwise his magic will be bound. His grandfather, suggested, he take his muggle exams in his vacations, so that he can complete his GCSE by the time he complete his OWLs, which was the minimum requirement to get enlisted. To help him, Lily gave him, her own heirloom, the time turner which she had used in her Hogwarts time. Finally, Harry decide to go to Hogwarts.

When Harry came to Hogwarts, he was having the worst time of his life again. When people found Harry was alive, James told them how he had to cast out Harry because he was a glory hound and always caused problems and blamed Charles for everything. Nearly half of Hogwarts were against him, while few supported him, like Neville and Susan. The most vocal against him were his Charles and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Others were some slytherins like Draco Malfoy and his gang. Many bullied, belittled and even cursed him all around the first three months. Even teachers didn't support him as they were also a bit into the story.

But, after the first three months things gradually started to change as many started see the real Harry and Charles and even started to doubt the entire story. To his support, people also started to believe an interview Sirius gave in which he clearly stated what happened really. Because of that interview and his and behaviour many started to realise what really happened. But that didn't stop Charles' trio or some bullies like Draco from attacking him. Fortunately he had atleast a bit of teachers and students support. So, the attack on him gradually got reduced. More people started to talk and even started to become friends with him, most of them were his own house Gryffindors and thanks to Susan's support Hufflepuffs as well. Harry even started a friendship with Hagrid. By the end of their second year even the trio stopped bothering him, as they also felt he wasn't worth their time. His 3rd and 4th year normally in Hogwarts normally and with minimum bullying. He also started dating his Susan in his 3rd year.

As for his studies, though skeptical at first, teachers later became impressed about him. He was indeed a prodigy in Defence and Charms. He was the top of his year in both these subjects third best in all other subjects except in Potions in which he was sixth. A fact that irked Hermione Granger so much that someone was good enough than her and remained top even if she scored more marks than him. She even accused him for cheating so many times, but left after 1st year as she realised, the teachers are not bothering about her complaints like they did at the beginning. Hermione was the top student in Potions, Astronomy, History and second in all other subjects except Defence in which she was third, as Charles was second. Charles is the best in Transfiguration, just like James and second best in Defence. Harry showed he was a prodigy in Arithmency when he took it as his elective as always Maths was his favourite subject. After this Hermione was on warpath with Harry to defeat him, but he was not interested in any competitions as he was only here to study and enjoy his life. Everyday after getting up, he pulled his curtains down, he used his Time Turner to go back the time he slept and revised his GCSE portions, as any other time would have raised suspicions. He sat for the equivalency tests of each year at his summer vacations.

As for enjoying his Hogwarts life, just like old days he spent most of his time with Neville, Susan and Luna who joined at their second year. He also got some other friends like his yearmates Dean, Seamus, and Justin. He enjoyed football and racing a lot and even wanted to be part of any sports in Hogwarts, but when he found out that the only sport they had was quidditch and Charles joined it in his first year itself made him drop the idea. Also he was never a fanatic of quidditch even if he enjoyed flying. He spent his vacations with his grandparents. His mother and sister, along with Susan, Blacks and Longbottoms visited them. Sometimes Luna, Dean, Seamus and Justin visited him. Once Remus Lupin, who was their Defence professor at the their third year visited him and even apologised for not standing up for him, because of his situation.

His good going life came to an end when his 5th year started. He was having his OWLs this year and he has to decide whether he is continuing his magical education to NEWTs or he is stopping here and going back to join SAS after his OWLs. As much he loved magic and the time he spent in the school with his friends and girlfriend, he also knew for fact that deep down many still think him as an outcaste. It will also be difficult for him with James' hold in the ministry to get a job. And as for job, the only job that interested him was Aurors, but they didn't even matched to what he could do in SAS, even though he told Mcgonagall he was going to be an Auror in his career guidance meet to not raise any suspicion. The only people who knew about his plan were Susan, Neville, Luna, Lily, Evans, Blacks and Longbottoms. But he knew if he left, he wouldn't be able to be with Susan like the past five years. So he was keeping the decision on hold until his OWLs result came.

Another interesting fact that happened that year was Dumbles warning everyone not going to third floor corridor if they don't want to die. A few after this a troll got into Hogwarts, which was taken down by Charles and Ron who went looking for Hermione and got in its path. From that day onwards they were acting differently. At times they were quietly discussing something, at times they Charles got back into his old bullying self when some in the years below them started to fear him after the troll incident. Harry could also see the way Charles looked at him, like the way he did in his first two years. He was a bit back to normal when he nearly fell of his broom in the middle of quidditch. Most people didn't recognise it, but being a Defence and Charms prodigy Harry was sure someone was cursing his broom. But luckily he escaped. He also saw him staying in Hogwarts for Christmas and Easter. At the end of year Dumbles shocking everyone, Dumbles awarded the trio several points like brilliance in phase of fire, best chess player and pure nerve and bravery and they also saw their DADA professor Quirell was also missing from the feast.

The day before they were going home Harry was attacked from behind by the trio. Charles came and belittled him by saying that how weak and helpless he is and still people think he is prodigy while he was a cheat and glory hound. He also add that no matter what you do he will always be an outcaste in the magical world. But before they could continue their rant, Neville came through the way and released him. Harry wasn't scared or shaken by this incident, but he became more clear what he wanted. It also cemented the idea of what the wizarding world thought of him. It was at this moment he finalized he was leaving Hogwarts after his OWLs result came.
