Three days had passed after the trip to Goron City and Everett hadn't seen or heard from Link nor the Princess since then. Which had actually relieved him. He had tried to befriend Link, but he guessed it got no where when the boy didn't even look his way the entire trip back from the mountain. Guess we're doing this solo. It blows. It blows that he has to work with a bunch of flawed people.

A petty princess, a silent hero. An egotistical bird. a flirtatious woman, a shy girl and an overconfident rock.

Then there was him. An brooding brute. He was in no way denying that staying here sucked way more than he thought but that he had to get used to it. This was life for him now. He's only made a few friends that he can really rely on here, after that everyone hates him. It didn't matter much to him. He was here on a mission, not to make friends or have fun. These people didn't care about him, just simply using him because of what he can do.

He wonders what he'll do if they come out successful. Would he try to stay within Hyrule? Or could he sail far, far away from here and even forget it happened? Was that a possibility? Was forgetting even a luxury he had?

He snapped back into thought as he heard a crash of water against the rock he had been staring at. He had walked a little northeast, a mile or two to a river that had been split between him and the castle. The morning breeze had brushed nice on his skin. He had wondered what Olas and Boto were up too.

Olas had left to go back to the stable earlier this morning, not bothering to wake Everett but instead place a letter on his sleeping chest. Don't forget about us! It had read, leaving a chuckle on Everett's face. He didn't think he could forget Olas and Boto. They had helped when he was alone.

Throwing a pebble into the river, he had gotten lost in his thoughts once again. How would Aston feel if Everett was suddenly thrown back into his old life with a sword strapped to his back, bigger muscles than he dreamed of and medieval clothes on? Who would believe him? That he had been thrown into some fantasy world that was an actual video game.

Aston would believe him. Everett had no doubt in his mind that Aston would believe him. If he popped up in front of Aston, he'd tell him everything that's happened so far. How he can lift house sized boulders and things that weigh tons. How he suddenly became skilled at fighting and combat.

How he thought about vanishing from this cursed world and never returning. The King would probably search for him high and low for his return. He remembered the King telling him that his strength would be advantage against the Calamity. He sighed before he finally stood up and threw the last pebble into the water.

He stalked off silently through the freshly cut field. The aroma of the cut grass had attacked his nose senes filling him with a comfort that he couldn't quite explain. He stopped in the middle of the field to breathe in a deep breath of air.

He needed moments like this. An empty grass field with the morning sun high in the sky, peace was all he could think of right now. Not the Princess or hero, not the king nor Hyrule. Just him and the morning breeze that had kissed his skin.

He ended up returning to town after a few moments of peaceful bliss. An letter had lodged itself in the mailbox that had read his name.

Sir Everett.

As you know, we are currently preparing to leave for Rito Village today. I expect you to report to the sanctum at noon for more information.

-Princess Zelda.

Well at least she didn't berate him for simply existing, he sighed before crumbling the paper and throwing into a can of trash that had been next of the mailbox. He walked into the inn before walking over to his bed, he had bought a neat and nice outfit yesterday so that he wouldn't sport the same clothes he did when they went to Goron City. Those had been riddled with holes, caked in dirt and had dust from the mountain on it.

Everett remembered getting back to the castle and getting treated for them. They had been healed a little but it still burned to move his arm the wrong way. He had quickly swapped outfits, before he had folded his old one neatly and put them softly on the bed.

He had dropped a few rupees in the innkeepers hand before departing out of the building with his sword in his hand. He had sheathed it while walking out into the street before beginning to walk into the center of the castle town. It was bustling as usual, either people shopping or people on their way to work. He had tried his best to avoid the crowded streets, but they were usually always crowded when they were heading to the castle so it didn't really bother him as much anymore.

He wasn't keeping track of time when he finally made it to the castle. It must be a pretty busy day because it was somewhat crowded in the halls of the castle. He bobbed and weaved his way through a bunch of people before he finally made it to the familiar sanctum doors, he opened the door to where the Princess, King and Hero were now in the same room with him.

"...Revali seems confident that he can master Medoh, and that he has all the controls under his belt. I hope so because his pride and ego are bigger than Hyrule itself." She had spotted Everett with a glance not bothering to look at him fully. "Great, you've made it. Let's make haste and not waste time."

"You two go ahead," The King interrupted. "I must speak with Sir Everett." He seen the glare the Princess gave him and the King, before she left with Link behind her. That had left the strongest man in Hyrule and The King in a room by themselves before the King had spoke up.

"These next few weeks will test your loyalty," The King said sternly. "I have heard the reports that my daughter has not been kind to you. And for that I'm sorry. I just request of you to...hear her out."

Everett nodded for him to continue. "My daughter is under a lot of pressure. And I feel that I'm only pressuring her worse. The more days that go by the more anxious I get that she won't awaken her powers. I've said the same thing to Link, I am counting on you to help her awaken her powers. "

"And how would I even begin to do that?"

"By making sure she stays on course. That she doesn't go and fiddle with some blasted sheikah technology. To make she prays at the springs."

"What do I look like, a babysitter?" Everett said spitefully. The King flinched at the words before his face hardened with a grimace.

"You will do as I say." He said.

Everett snorted. "I can understand why you'd ask Link with him being the goddess champions and all, but I doubt I'll be of help."

The King frowned at that. "I am not requesting, I am ordering you. As long as you serve this kingdom you will do as I say. Do you understand?"

Everett had bit his tongue to stop the flying insults he'd let go at the man. He sighed heavily before he looked at King Rhoam with an irritated expression. "Yes sir."

King Rhoam nodded. "I will expect a report from you after during this pilgrimage. Do not leave any details out or you'll face consequences. Do I make myself clear Sir Everett?"

"Yes."

"Good. You are dismissed, and do not think this confrontation will go unresolved. You will face consequences for how you should watch you're tone when speaking to a king."

The boy hardened his death stare at the king.

"Moblins ahead..." Link muttered loud enough for Zelda and Everett to hear. The appointed knight looked back at the Princess nodding for her to hide. Disappointment and annoyance washed over her face as she walked back behind a large stone.

The moblins had long arms, a long torso, short legs and a huge snout. They could probably eat a human whole if they wanted too. They were a different of colors, three of them. One was blue, one was black and the last one was red, and a couple more were different colors. An entire camp of them it seemed

"We can take them," Link said. "If we're quick, we can get this over fast." Everett nodded as he and Link begun to trot towards the monsters. Link unsheathed the master sword before he had moved quicker than lightning, jumping high and swiftly landing a blow on the black moblin's snout. The blue one had noticed Everett before he could attack and wildly swung its long arm for a blow towards the man.

Everett had quickly dodged the blow, letting the moblin's arm slip over his shoulder. He roughly grabbed the monsters arms and flung him over his shoulder. The moblin had hit a tree with impact, and landed on its head upside down. Swiftly pulling the sword out, he lodged it into the throat of the moblin before watching it squirm and eventually go limp.

Zelda watched intently at how the two fought. Link had masterfully danced around each moblin, skillfully outmatching them and cutting them down. The monster brought it's fist down and Link had dodged it so quickly that Zelda didn't see the blow that the hero dealt out. He was skilled with the blade no doubt. Whereas, Everett was more brutal with his fighting style. He practically tossed the two moblins he faced around.

The Moblin wouldn't see the sword that no doubt had a powerful swing behind it to chop the monsters throat in half. Everett's strength was unmatched, she didn't doubt that. She watched as he kicked out one of the moblins short leg before grabbing it by the shoulders and throwing it into a rock a few feet away. It had tried to recover to retaliate but not before it's snout had been smashed into the rock harshly, before a gigantic claymore sword was driven into it's gut.

Link had chopped down the remaining moblin with ease before he nodded to the Princess that it was safe to come out. She did, and with that she avoided both of the two looks. They had so they're job and are achieving their destiny while she sat and watched like the helpless princess she was, she frowned at them before turning around and walking towards where they would arrive in Rito Village in half a day.

When they finally arrived, they (or the more so the Princess) was greeted with an ovation from the crowd. The hero and brute both stood in the back almost barely being noticed by the crowd which they were mostly grateful for.

"Princess," The elder rito had greeted with a bow, and the Princess had bowed back. "It is an honor for you to visit our home, Master Revali is waiting for you at the landing."

"Thank you for the greetings Elder, we will talk when I get back from the divine beast." The Princess said eagerly.

The elder had nodded and held out his feather to where Revali had been standing in the distance on some landing pad.

"Great..." Everett mumbled. The three made their way to the landing where no doubt Revali was standing in the middle of it waiting for them. He had that same cocky, egotistical look on his face and he had been standing there as if he was trying to intimidate the other men.

"Welcome to Rito Village, Princess," Revali said with open arms, he lent a feather out to hold her hand as a sign of respect. Zelda had bowed before accepting the feather and then nodded. Revali let go of her hand.

"I wasn't expecting the formal invitation Revali, this is certainly a lot. Thank you." She nodded and he had let that grin get bigger.

"No need to thank me Princess. Anyways, the divine beast is waiting for us. I can fly you there, it's the only way you can get there." Revali said, the last part he made smug. He didn't even have the audacity I to greet Link or Everett.

"Well, I guess that'll do." The Princess confirmed. She turned to the two swordsmen. "I guess you'll have to wait down here."

Revali had finally looked past the Princess to where her protectors were standing. "Im afraid your lapdogs won't be able to be by your side up there, nevertheless my skill far surpasses those buffons."

Everett sneered. "Man, fuck you."

"And no doubt you have the manners of a beast, as you hail from a stable no less." Revali added. Everett had enough and went to step up but not before the Princess stepped in between them. He kept his deadly stare on the Rito champion who had given him his own death stare.

"Link, come find me when they're done. I need to go blow some steam off." He mumbled the last part feeling himself quake as he walked away.

"Honestly Princess, I don't see how you put up with them." Revali scoffed.

"They are apart of this like I am Revali, I have no choice but to."

"Or you could rid your knight and brute, and have me by your side." He said confidently. "My skills will no doubt be of great value in the fight against Ganon."

She sighed. Having confidence was good, she didn't want to spoil the warriors having confidence. But to be outright egotistical and ignorant, she didn't like it. But at least they showed compassion. She could get on board with that.

"As much as we agree on other things about those two, they're skills are unique and admirable. I have no doubt they will be of use." She said, her last words shaky.

Revali scoffed. "Princess, with all due respect. You yourself don't even believe that." She didn't. "I highly believe my skill is magnitudes above them and that Vah Medoh will be the trump card in this war."

Zelda had almost ignored him as she walked towards the opening of Vah Medoh, which had been a square shaped entrance leading to the sky.

"Such a view. Hyrule's landscape has always amazed me."

"Would you like to see it further? Y'know I can carry you around the landscape."

It sounded great, but she had work to do and she couldn't afford making the two men who were protecting wait any long than she had be taken.

"I appreciate the offer, Revali. But I have a duty that I must keep up with. I do not have time to have fun." She said wearily still tapping away at the slate in her hand. She saw a few more Rito's land in the entrance beckoning for Revali to come to them.

He did and they had whispered something in his ear that must've been satisfying because he had a smug look on his face when he pulled away. He quickly retreated with his hands behind his back.

"Apparently Princess, there are matters that I must attend to. I hope you can forgive me, as I leave you in the safety of my most trusted soldiers."

Zelda had looked at him puzzled. What could he have to do that's more important than this? "Yes, of course Revali. Do not let me keep you."

He seen the eyes on him as most of the village had seen the interaction between the two, he quickly walked past the goddess statue and turned a left before leaving out of the village. He followed the trail all the way to where he guessed the snowy mountains was.

Luckily he had an elixir that could keep him warm in weathers like this, and he mentally thanked Link for packing them. He swiftly drank one before entering the cold air of Hebra. He felt the potion start to kick in as the cold weather begin to feel like nothing, and soon he wasn't feeling any of the chill the snowy mountains of Herba bring.

He walked further into the snowy field deep in his thoughts, he tried not to go too deep then freeze like a popsicle out here. But then again, Link had told him that it would last him a good while.

"Fuck man," The ex cancer patient who now somehow had the skills of an hardened warrior breathed. He looked at the sky which was covered by the snow flakes falling, landing on his skin and dissolving. "What do I do Aston?"

A few moments passed by and he heard a look whoosh!A gust of wind had blasted him back a couple feet, still standing in his feet he shielded his face from the oncoming snow that was being thrown at him. He felt explosions surround him as they blinded him from seeing his attacker. He quickly unsheathed the claymore that Dayru had gifted him.

"Never let your guard down," He heard Revali's cocky, smug voice in the distance. He heard another whoosh before he felt a sharp talon scrap across his bicep.

"Shit..." He gripped his bicep before he was bombarded with more bomb arrows. He used the cover of the smoke and snow to retreat behind a boulder, and he had to catch his breath. That bastard! Catching me off guard.

He gritted his teeth. He heard the bird flying around as another whoosh came from above him.

"You won't be able to hide, brute. I told you back at the castle that I'd humiliate you. Today's that day." He heard another whoosh, and Revali suddenly appeared behind him. But Everett had spotted him too. "Found you."

He smacked a sharp feather across of Everett's face leaving a mark on his cheek. The brute felt himself quake as his vision began to cloud. He didn't fight it, he was willing to risk his reputation over fighting someone who was considered above him.

Revali had let a few more bomb arrows cloud around Everett who stood there menacingly, waiting for the Rito champion to strike. And he did. The smoke from the arrows had gathered around him giving Revali a perfect chance to strike.

But he didn't get the chance.

Revali swooped down low with the bow in his grasp, he had kicked an arrow to the quiver and he didn't get the chance to aim when a rock hard fist had connected to his chest. The blow was so powerful that Revali felt himself fly into his own gale, Revali capitalized on the error before trying to retreat to the sky.

"You coward! Come back here!" Everett yelled out. He ran as fast he could, Revali had created an updraft so strong that it pulled the two warriors in the air. Everett had roughly grabbed Revali's feather arm before he reeled his fist back as hard as he could and let it fly into the side of the bird's beak repeatedly.

Revali's head had snapped back harshly and seemed to get more harsh as Everett pounded his face in. Revali had a crazed anger look on his face when Everett felt his grip falter on the bird's arm, he lost the gravity and Revali took this chance to push him to the ground with his clawed feet. Everett felt himself fall back to the ground and landed roughly in the snow.

He felt the air leave his body as he able to quickly recover, he felt the anger leave his body as he was suddenly now thinking again. He felt the thud a couple feet away seeing Revali's determination and anger in his face.

"You think you can beat me? I've merely only showed you an ounce of what I can do," He fancily flipped backwards and kicked the bow up in the air to catch it in his feathered hands when it dropped down, he had already loaded a single arrow in the bow before letting go.

The arrow flew past her ear with a zing! He had ran towards the bird who had suddenly disappeared with thin the fallen snow. He stopped suddenly before looking around frantically for Revali. He heard the smug laugh within the distance.

"Behind you."

A fist had collided with his face. He felt his head snap back a bit and he stumbled a bit before wiping blood from his lip. He felt his anger increase and he heard another whoosh of wind. Turning around in time, Everett had roughly caught Revali midair, and threw him to the ground.

Revali had recovered quickly withdrawing his bow to shoot at the brute. But he wasn't there.

He had...disappeared? All he saw was the snowy field and the flakes that had dropped from the sky. He had positioned himself to that he had eyes on all four sides of himself.

"You want to know what my special ability is, Revali?" The Rito heard Everett in the distance, mocking him. He was copying his move he did on opponents. How dare him! Revali gritted before turning around swiftly to check his backside.

"If being dumb and strong counts as an ability, then Daruk would've been a champion a long time ago." Revali said. He heard a laugh from the latter before he felt his brows furrow.

And suddenly he heard a voice behind him in his ear . "The longer I fight, the more I adapt."

Revali had swiftly back flipped and aimed the bow at Everett who had already side stepped him. Revali felt a fist slam back into his face for what felt like the hundredth time today. He growled angrily. He sent an arrow, flying back to create some space.

Everett had dodged the arrow before sending the claymore flying like a javelin at Revali, it had missed but it was enough to distract him. Everett had let his arm cock back and gave Revali a nice haymaker to the face. The bird flew back a couple feet into the same boulder that Everett had taken cover behind.

Revali had proved resilience, as he recovered fast and landed a swift punch on Everett on his own. The two began to trade blows back to back, mostly Everett getting the upper hand. He was right when he said Revali had no expertise outside of all that fancy flying. He was barely hitting Everett at all, but when he did it surely didn't feel good as the Rito packed a punch.

"You will not beat me!" Revali had cried out, in an attempt he had scratched Everett on the top of his eye, making the stronger man reeled back. Revali had flicked the bow up with his feet and went to swing at Everett but it was smoothly caught.

Snap!

Everett had roughly snapped the great eagle bow in half leaving Revali flabbergasted.

"You brute! You absolute fool! You broke my bow-" Revali didn't get the chance to finish the sentence before his head snapped back with another punch. Everett had jabbed him in his face with his other hand, before letting his right fly into his stomach. He dodged the punch Revali threw before he threw a powerful punch that had missed but cracked the boulder behind them. He roughly grabbed Revali before throwing him to the ground.

He squatted down, grabbing the boulder violently before heaving it above his head. He felt an immense burst of strength fill his body as he heaved over his head and began to walk over near Revali was. He had stopped himself. Revali had looked at him with a look of hatred and anger. Everett had breathed heavily as the boulder had been lifted high over his head. This ain't worth it. It wasn't worth dropping an entire boulder on the bird. He wasn't going to let him get that satisfaction of getting into Everett's head and making him do something rash. He had went to lower himself to throw the boulder away until:

"Stop!" He heard Princess Zelda exclaim. That voice had rung his ears as he took a step forward to balance the boulder sitting atop of his head. "I demand an explanation for this."

Revali nor Everett moved, and they had they're eyes glued to a very angry Princess. She had her fists curled into balls digging into her palms, she had an death glare at her face demanding an explanation.

Everett had stared at her for a moment before Revali, he had held the boulder with no issues letting himself collect all his thoughts. He set the boulder down with a thud, before going to collect his sword.

He sheathed it before walking towards the Princess, stopping a few feet in front of her he had spit blood out to his left side and away from her. "Why don't you ask you're champion?" Everett asked bitterly before he stalked off out of her sigh. She kept her eyes remained on the Rito who had been picking up pieces of his broken bow.

...

"So...he attacked you first?" Princess Zelda asked. She grimaced when Everett had spit more blood out of his mouth. They had made it to the Rito infirmary where a Rito woman was looking at the cut on his eye.

"Don't know how many times I've got to tell you that he did." He seen the glare on her face.

"Do not speak to me that way, Sir Everett. This is a very serious matter right now, you could be condemned to the jail cell underneath the castle for attacking a champion of Hyrule. Or worse, you may face execution." She said sternly.

Everett chuckled. "Good. It'll be far better than doing this shit." He went to get up and walk away. He had enough of Hyrule's shit. Done with this goddesses bullshit. Enough was enough.

She stepped in front of him to prevent him from walking away. "I'm trying to help you."

Everett's face contorted into anger. "Yeah well maybe I don't want you're help," The tone he had spat the statement in took Zelda aback. "You insult me, put me down, disrespect me and you think I want you're help? I'd rather be beheaded at this point. If I face execution then let me die at least without you nagging at me. Now get of my way."

He had softly pushed her aside to keep his chivalry alive. She looked at him as he walked down the steps, and disappeared around the corner. In a way, he wasn't wrong.

She had called him numerous insults, put him down and has doubted his abilities. She understood the perspective he had on her, but having it said to her face still left her utterly shocked.

"I'm a terrible person..." She had quietly scoffed out with a dry throat.

Link had appeared in the doorway.

She snapped her head up before readjusting herself. "Please let the elder know we are leaving in the morning. It'd be best if we head back to the castle."

Link nodded.
