Briarpaw watched the swirling sensation around her in amazement. Suddenly, different things popped up in the air. A book. Briarpaw frowned. How did she know what that thing was? A book? She'd never heard of it before, but it was in the back of her mind and seemed familiar to her. She looked at the title. 'Guide to being twolegs' Several buttons glowed like a fire on a cold Leaf-bare night. A tab appeared above them, saying, 'Twoleg profiles: Which name do you want your twoleg to have?'. Briarpaw reached out and slapped the 'Lilly' button with her paw. She could read now! What was going on, she had no idea, but it was brilliant. A long piece of text flashed before her, and she started to read;

'Name: Lilly

Gender: Female

Hobbies: Drawing, Reading

Likes: Dogs

Dislikes: Unhappiness

Personality: Extremely positive & happy'

Briarpaw stared at 'Likes; Dogs' in shock. She didn't like dogs at all!

Briarpaw appeared in a room. A house (Where were these words coming from?) with the other four apprentices.

"What name did you get?" Cinderpaw Cocked her head at them, "Mine is Heather!"

"I'm Jay." Jaypaw looked unenthusiastic even though he could now see.

"I'm Holly!" Hollypaw leaped into the air, excited.

"I'm Lilly" Briarpaw told them all, walking for the first time in moons.

"I'm so excited!" Cinderpaw was bouncing up and down.

"For what?" Jaypaw grumbled, his foot dragging across the wooden floor.

"Ignore Jaypaw," Hollypaw informed her friends, "he's had a bad morning, that's all."

Jaypaw rolled his eyes and sighed, "Guys, it's just medicine cat stuff that you won't understand. That's why I'm snappy."

Brairpaw exchanged a glance with Cinderpaw and sniggered. Jaypaw was always sarcastic and a bit rude at times. There was never any explanation for it, Briarpaw guessed he was just born that way.

"Umm… guys…" Hollypaw was looking in a mirror now, "I don't think two legs have cat ears and a tail. I mean, look at the picture."

Briarpaw turned gaze to the photo Hollypaw was holding up. The twoleg in the picture had ears sticking out of the side of its head. It had no tail at all. The four apprentices exchanged glances and looked down at their tails.

"I can fix that! Well, the ears at least." Briarpaw told them. She had been looking in the 'How to Be Twoleg' guide and found a page on things that go on heads. Hats. Briarpaw wandered to the coat hanger and found four woolly hats hanging on the pegs. She handed them to each apprentice and kept one for herself.

"Great thinking, Briarpaw" Cinderpaw gave her a thumbs up and grinned.

"Do we have to wear these everywhere? It itches my head!" Jaypaw groaned.

"Oh, do shut up, Jaypaw. Well, unless if you've got something useful to mention." Hollypaw snapped back in reply.

"Ok, ok, I was just asking!" Jaypaw growled.

"I think we only have to wear them when in public areas." Briarpaw said, hesitantly.

"Yeah, probably." Cinderpaw backed her up.

With the discussion over, Briarpaw strolled over to the callender. It was 'Christmas Day' tomorrow. Briarpaw looked in the 'How to Be Twoleg' guide and found the page on what to do before 'Christmas Day'. Apparently, you had to leave out milk and cookies out so Santa could eat them. Who even is Santa?

Briarpaw found a gingerbread man (TELL ME! WHERE ARE THESE WORDS COMING FROM?) in the fridge (WHAT EVEN IS A FRIDGE?) (Oh, that thing…). She set the biscuit out on a plate on the fireledge, and poured the milk from the carton into a cup. She set the drink down beside the gingerbread man, and left the room.

When she returned, Hollypaw was sat on the sofa (IS MY MIND GENERATING THESE WORDS?) with the plate on her lap, and holding the biscuit up, ready to eat.

"WAIT!" Briarpaw yelled, skidding into the room, "Don't eat that! It's for santa!"

"Who's Santa?" Hollypaw mused.

"HOW AM I MEANT TO KNOW? Just put the plate back where you found it."

"Ok!" Hollypaw was smiling. She held the biscuit in her hand, and put the milk and the plate back on the fireplace. Then she walked back to the sofa and got ready to have a bite of the biscuit.

"You sneak!" Briarpaw Laughed, "Put the biscuit back too!"

Hollypaw did as she was told and went up to her bed. Briarpaw followed her up, and found a door with a sign that said, 'Lilly's room'. Briarpaw thought, 'I'm Lilly!' and pushed the door open.

A large purple bed, with flowers littered across the duvet stood in the center of the room. Shelves lined with books ran along one wall, and next to the other wall, was a desk, piled with paper.

Briarpaw flopped onto her bed. Who was Santa? Why did he want their cookies? Briarpaw wondered as sleep drifted over her like a soft blanket.
