Chapter Three - Chaos That Silences Calamity (Part Two)
Out of a fit of unbridled rage I clawed out the eye of the book and used it's own power against it, losing my corporeal form in the process. Time reversed, my love, her friend and the world lives again. My consciousness returns to my old self, sitting at the web cafe, writing a paper on ancient Sumerian Cuneiform and my thoughts on how it originated. A strange and beautiful woman enters the cafe, sits down across from me, and writes in her little black book of infinite knowledge. She stops, looks at me, and asks me quietly, "do you still remember our first kiss"
"I remember it very well. would you like to relive that experience, under different circumstances?"
Shiori giggled. "Of course I would."
I smiled and said, "don't forget your Bookmark this time, okay?" Then the big questions were raised: Will Nerissa remember me, and are there more like her?
We both pack our things and headed off to that open air seafood restaurant, hand in hand. As we walked there, I noticed an owl looming over us on a building's rooftop edge, slowly closing her eyes, as if she knew what I accomplished.
As we approached the alleyway where Shiori and I met, a blonde haired woman in a Sherlock Holmes style outfit bumped into us and she quietly said "good work, Teamate." It was Amelia Watson, for sure. I looked back to where she could have been, but nobody was there, but a faint ticking sound, like a small watch could be heard in the alleyway. I smirked, knowing that these specific people remember or have heard about the events that transpired in an alternate future. Though i may be in another timeline, I still feel the scar on my chest where the Bookmark was jammed into me, as well as the endless knowledge from the overexposure that came with it.
As we were going to take our seats, we noticed a young woman in purple painting a mural across from the restaurant. With her was a book with a damaged cover that held different kinds of paints inside, which led me to believe the book had some power left, but not enough to cause her to become a priestess or bring about the apocalypse.
"Bau Bau! (Bau Bau!)" I turned my head behind me and saw two... dog girls... that looked like twins. "Shiorin! who's this person you've found? (Are they a good person?) They smell like a good person, Moco-chan. (Hm hm!)"
"Ah, Fuwawa! Mococo! This is my date!" Shiori said happily.
"Ooh I've heard about them! (Yes, yes!) They're really good people! (Mhm! Good people!)"
"Hi, I'm Samsara Jacobs, but you can call me Sam," I said.
"I'm Mococo! I'm the fuzzy one! (I'm Fuwawa, the fluffy one!) It's nice to meet you! (Hm!)"
"Ope! Hey, I knew I'd find you here!"
"Hey, Nerissa!" i said.
"Hey Sam! Wanna see a cool looking rock?"
"Uhh... y-yeah?"
Nerissa tossed a gleaming pebble on the ground. "Wait for it...!" I waited, and suddenly the rock started glowing, and growing to the size of a small child. It also looked like one too. The features filled out and the crystal turned into a living person.
The child yawned. "Rissa? What time is it?"
"It's in the evening. Meet our new friend, who is also Shiorin's sweetheart."
"Hi! I'm Bijou! Sometimes they call me Biboo like I'm a child, but I don't mind!"
"You're not a child?" this was quite baffling, but then I remembered that I've seen weirder things, like Shiori eating her sushi with scissors. "(What the huh?)"
"No!! I'm centuries old!" Bijou exclaimed. "Anyway we're here to congratulate you on saving the universe... and you're girlfriend!"
Shiori blushed. "Biboo!!"
"Heheheh... Anyway, we'll be going now. See ya! Have a good date!"
