Chapter Four - The Not-So-End Times

My date with Shiori went better than the first one. We ate a lot of good food, we had enough sake to knock out a horse, we went to her place, we kissed (a lot), and slept in each other's arms. I woke up before she did, this time knowing where I was and what had happened, but still hungover. I looked down at Shiori, who had the right side of her face pressed against my chest. I gently brushed my fingers through her hair.

"I love you, Shiori. I died for you, and I'd do it again, but not anytime soon," I whispered, lulling myself back to sleep. After all, the current timeline's apocalypse won't come for another 300 million years. We may as well make the rest of our lives together count.
