Groaning softly, Weiss felt like she had been run over by a Goliath, or Nora whenever she was charged up on sugar from Ren's waffles. Everything hurt, from her face to the very tips of her toes, and everything else in between. Weiss felt exhausted, as if she hadn't slept in several days despite her eyes still being closed shut from her short nap. She felt hungry, actually, starving would be more accurate, but most of all, she felt rather weak. Her body refused to listen to her commands, as she felt her arms slowly rise with some difficulty. Placing said arm on her forehead, Weiss, she forced her body into a sitting position. Judging by the small ache in her side, her aura must've been depleted, which was rather annoying. Ignoring the rumbling from her stomach, Weiss' eyes fluttered open as she forced herself to sit up.

After being temporarily blinded by the lights, she finally got a good view of the room she was in. It was rather barren aside from a few machines that she was hooked up to. There wasn't even a seat or couch for visitors. That wasn't what stood out the most though. Everything was a shade of gunmetal, from the walls, floors and the lone door at the far side of the room. A camera with a blinking light stared straight at her.

Weiss' lips felt dry. "Ruby?"

Where was everyone? They should've been here waiting for her to recover! Weiss wouldn't have left their side, she traveled halfway across the world to see them again gods damn it! Biting her bottom lip a bit too hard helped to drain the anger out of Weiss' system. "Ow!"

She forgot her aura was depleted at the moment, but that didn't change the fact that Weiss was going to give everyone a stern talking to once they showed up. Any minute now.

Seconds passed without a single sound, not even a cricket to break the silence. Weiss balled her hands into a fist as her breathing started to quicken. Where were her friends? They should've been here by now.

Unless…

Did they lose? Weiss' fist relaxed as her breathing slowed. Did they lose at Haven? If they did, wouldn't Weiss be dead by now? Or in Father's custody? Maybe she was in Atlas, or a military hospital. Mm, she didn't remember anything after feeling something stab her in her side. Her right hand unconsciously touched the area she remembered the pain coming from.

Dang aura, regenerate already! Without Myrtenaster, all of her belongings were missing, Weiss would be defenseless without her glyphs. She need them just in case she had been captured, by Atlesian personnel or otherwise.

The door slid open, revealing a woman that looked around Winter's age, maybe a little bit older. She walked in with a small smile on her pretty face which was framed by her long blonde hair. She must've been a huntress judging by her clothes, with her revealing black bustier, blue jacket and grey stockings.

"And who are you?" Weiss said in Atlesian before the strange woman could speak. If she was a prisoner, Weiss was going to find out as much as information as possible.

"German?" The woman raised an eyebrow. She spoke in Valish, the common trade language of the Four Kingdoms. Weiss hid her frown behind a a cool mask, one of the many lessons Father had put her through. German? What was German? It sounded like some kind of food.

"Atlesian." Weiss answered, switching to Valish. She played up her accent. The blonde obviously wasn't from Atlas if she didn't know Weiss' mother tongue. Her eyed briefly drifted to the camera located at the far side of the room, opposite to the door. It stared at her relentlessly.

Someone was watching.

"I see." The Blonde smiled. She took a few small steps in Weiss' direction, but paused when she was a foot away from the bed. "I'm glad to see that you're better, you've been asleep for a week."

A week! Weiss had been asleep for a week! W-Was that the reason nobody was here? Weiss narrowed her eyes. Did they abandon her?

"Thank you." This conversation felt awkward and jilted. The Blonde nodded, her smile never disappearing from her face. False pleasantries always pissed Weiss off.

The Blonde took a few more steps and tilted her head. "What's your name? I'm Dinah."

"Ruby Rose." The lie escaped Weiss' lips easily. She lied as easily as she breathed, most of the time. She wasn't about to reveal her identity to a stranger. What if they were bandits like the Branwen tribe that would love to hold her hostage!

"As much as I can appreciate a good secret identity, I was hoping we could have an honest conversation." Dinah frowned. H-How did she know Weiss was lying?! Weiss' lips felt dry, and before she could respond, a growl interrupted her.

It came from her stomach, causing her cheeks to heat up.

"I'll bring you some food, and a change of clothes. I'm sure you must be starving." Dinah said with a short giggle. She made her way to the door and turned her head before exiting. "I'll be back soon, the food here is really good."

Weiss finally allowed her mask to crack once she was alone, her indifference replaced by fury. She was going to kick everyone's ass for leaving her all alone.

Starting with Ruby's.

"This is taking too long."

Dinah ignored Bruce's complaint the moment she stepped out into the hallway. He had been hiding around the corner.

"If I remember right, we put it to a vote." Dinah walked in the direction of the canteen. She didn't need to turn around to know that he was following her. "I know you've been inpatient the entire time she's been unconcious, but we don't need you scaring the girl." She could sense the Batman glaring holes in the back of her head.

"That girl caused the biggest security breach we've ever seen." Bruce continued speaking. He wasn't wrong, the Watchtower's existance was supposed to be a closely guarded secret, one that only members of the League knew. After their guest's arrival, Bruce had locked himself in his lab for a day, analyzing Weiss' belongings, which were thankfully labeled with her name.

"She hasn't committed any crimes." Dinah hardened her eyes, finally reaching the canteen. Ollie had wanted to join her, but having too many people in the room would only make things harder. Weiss looked like she had escaped a warzone.

"I never said she did, but we don't need the Watchtower becoming compromised." Bruce's voice was serious like always.

"Relax." Dinah placed a hand on her hip. "Everything's going to be fine."

Weiss looked like a sweetheart.

Sorry this took so long! I've been bouncing around a dozen stories and get overly attached to one for weeks.
