I do not own Godzilla or Azur Lane

Author's Note: My writing ain't that great, but I do my best. This is a crossover I think could work extremely well, especially since Godzilla lives in the ocean and Azur Lane mostly takes place at sea.

Chapter 1: The Goddess

Somewhere off the coast of the Sakura Empire, there is an ancient island. It contains a single large mountain in the center. This mountain has a large opening at the top, giving it a similar appearance to a volcano. However, it is not a volcano, for within it is something a normal being would think impossible.

At the bottom of the mountain, there is an ancient stone temple, and on top of this temple, there sits a large insectoid creature. It resembles moth, with large, rainbow-colored wings, black and white fur covering its body, large and sharp mandibles, a sharp stinger at the end of its body, and very distinct large, blue eyes. It was quite beautiful.

This creature is known as Mothra, an ancient, but benevolent creature that is worshipped by the island natives. Standing in front of her on a small pedestal, were two tiny human looking females. They were only about a half foot tall each and wore ceremonial garbs. These ladies were known as the Shobijin. They were the priestesses of Mothra and had a telepathic and spiritual connection to her.

"Mothra, you summoned us. What are your wishes?", they ask in unison.

Mothra looks down at them and lets out a chirp.

The Shobijin give looks of surprise, and say, "But how? He has never had one before, is it even possible for us to give him one?"

Mothra gives more chirps in response.

"Kansen are manmade, would he not be angry if we do this?"

Mothra gives a few more short chirps. These chirps made her almost sound amused.

"We understand, but who do you wish to assign to him?"

Meanwhile

Off the coast of the Sakura Empire mainland, or better known as Japan, there was an island covered by a forest of Sakura trees. This island served as the main base of operations for the Sakura Imperial Navy. On the east side the island there was a concrete foundation holding up many structures. Each structure was mostly composed of wood and bricks. They all had a similar traditional Japanese style design. The wood was red in color while everything else was painted with navy blue and gold. There were several docks made of the same red colored wood branching off from the foundation out onto the sea.

The central and largest building looked more similar to a temple while the rest of the surrounding structures looked more like residential buildings.

The doors of each building were made of wooden frames wrapped with a strong, tan paper. They didn't open like normal doors. Instead, they slid open and closed.

*cough *cough

The coughing could be heard from within one of the many rooms within the building that served as the primary residence of base's occupants.

'I guess this is the end for me.'

This was the thought of a certain kitsune. Laying in a bed, wearing a purple and red kimono, with brown, long, flowing hair, brown fox ears, nine brown fox tails, and violet eyes, was Amagi. A Sakura battlecruiser kansen with a cracked wisdom cube.

Wisdom cubes were used by humanity to create kansen, and unfortunately, Amagi's was damaged during her birth. Her health had been in a slow decline from the beginning, and now she was approaching the end of her life.

There was no possible cure for her condition, so she lived her life with a mask of strength.

*cough *cough *cough

"Dear sister, I believe my time has come."

The one that Amagi was addressing was kneeling beside her. She was a kitsune kansen like her sister. She had dark brown hair, dark brown tails, dark brown fox ears, and red eyes. She wore a white dress shirt that accentuated large chest, a black kimono with the inside sleeves being red, a short red skirt, black thigh high socks, and a pair of red geta.

The kitsune had a look of worry and disbelief as she grabbed Amagi's hand with both of her's. "Sister, what do you mean? Surely you don't mean what I think."

Amagi gave a sad smile. "You already know the answer, Akagi."

Akagi tightened her grip on Amagi's hand as tears started to form in her eyes. "No! That can't be true!"

"Dear Sister, we both know that this day would eventually come."

Akagi began crying profusely as she hugged Amagi. Amagi couldn't help but return the embrace. "I need you to be strong for me while I'm gone."

"What is all this ruckus now, Akagi?"

Just then, another kitsune slid open the door to the room. She had white hair that came down to her neck, white fox ears, white tails, and blue eyes. She wore a white and blue kimono with a short blue skirt, white knee-high socks, and blue geta.

The kitsune had an annoyed expression until she saw the other two kitsunes in an embrace. Her expression changed to one of confusion.

"What is going on?"

Amagi looked up towards her with the same sad smile. "Hello Sister Kaga."

Akagi turned to look at her as well with tears flowing down her face. "Sister Amagi is dying."

Kaga's expression changed yet again to one of shock. She then clenched a fist and closed her eyes. "I'll go inform the others."

"Don't worry about that, there's no time."

Both Akagi's and Kaga's eyes widened at that. Akagi was the first to respond. "What do you mean, dear Sister?!"

*cough *cough *cough

"Akagi, promise me that you'll be strong not just for me, but for the Sakura Empire and it's people as well."

Akagi sniffled as she nodded her head. "I promise, Dear Sister Amagi."

Amagi looked to Kaga with the same sad smile. "And don't forget the promise you made to me, Dear Sister Kaga."

Kaga's fist clenched as she nodded with a tear falling down her cheek. "I won't, Sister Amagi."

Amagi reached over and grabbed one of Akagi's hands and held it closely. She then motioned for Kaga to come to her. Kaga hesitantly walked over and allowed Amagi to grab one of her hands as well.

"I want you to remember that I will always be with you no matter what, though it may not be physically."

Akagi and Kaga could feel Amagi's grip loosening, signaling that her life was fading. Akagi was fully weeping now. Kaga failed to contain her tears as well, despite how hard she tried to hold them in.

Amagi could feel herself fading as well. Her eyes were growing heavy as they were slowly closing. However, before her eyes could fully close, she saw a small, rainbow-colored moth with a single red dot on each wing and bright blue eyes. It was surrounded in a golden aura.

She suddenly heard a pair of voices in her head. "IJN Amagi, though you are at the end of your life, you have a new calling."

'I wonder what that means.' That was Amagi's last thought before her eyes fully closed.

Akagi and Kaga felt her hands go limp as they slipped down to her sides. Akagi wept as she laid her head down on her arms. Kaga prepared herself to go inform the other Sakura kansen but right as she was about to turn to leave, a golden glow enveloped Amagi.

"What's going on!?"

Akagi lifted her head up, surprised by Kaga's outburst. Her eyes widened in shock as she noticed the glow as well.

"Amagi!?"

The golden glow had dissipated and Amagi was gone. Akagi stood up with shock.

"Amagi!?"

Kaga had a just as shocked expression. "Where did she go?"

Location Unknown

Amagi awoke with a start and sat up quickly.

*gasp

"What just happened?!"

Amagi then noticed that she was no longer in her room, but in a large, wide-open cave. "Where am I?"

The same pair of voices she heard from before spoke again.

"Welcome to Infant Island, IJN Amagi."

Amagi eyes widened as she realized the voices weren't in her head this time. They were directly behind her. She slowly stood up and turned around. What she saw left her speechless.

In front of her on top of a pedestal, were the two Shobijin fairies, however what really caught her attention was the colossal version of the same moth she saw before sitting behind them. Amagi took in the sight before her.

"Beautiful."

In response, the giant insect lifted its head and let out a short chirp.

The two fairies in front of Amagi smiled. "Mothra thanks you for your compliment."

Amagi took a moment to process what was said. The name 'Mothra' sounded familiar to her. Then it clicked in her head, and she immediately felt the urge to bow to the giant insect.

"Do you mean the Goddess of Nature, Mothra?"

The Shobijin nodded. "Yes, the same Mothra the Sakura Empire used to worship many decades ago."

Amagi then decided it was time to finally bow. She was in the presence of an ancient deity that deserved all the respect she had. "I am honored to be in your presence, Ancient One."

Mothra let out a few chirps in response.

The Shobijin translated for her. "Mothra says you do not need to bow and to please call her Mothra."

Amagi rose back up. "As you wish Mothra, then I ask that you can call me Amagi. If I may ask, why am I here, is this the afterlife?"

The Shobijin shook their heads. "No, this not the afterlife. We transported your soul here as you passed on."

Amagi paused to process what was said. "So, I am dead then?"

"Yes, you are dead, however, Mothra wishes to give you a new purpose and another chance at living."

Amagi's eyes widened. "She really has that kind of power?"

"Yes, but she doesn't have much power left for her last battle has taken a great toll on her. This will be the last time she uses her power."

Amagi looked up to Mothra in surprise. She could now see a scar on the side of Mothra's abdomen. "Why waste your power on me? You need it much more than I do."

Mothra gave another series of chirps.

"Mothra has had visions of the future where a powerful enemy of the Earth will come and Mothra won't be strong enough to stop it. The task she will give you will ensure the one who can, will be ready."

"What kind of threat? Are you referring to the Sirens? And who are you referring to that can stop the threat?"

"No, this threat is far more dangerous than the Sirens themselves."

Amagi couldn't believe what they were saying. A threat more dangerous than Sirens? "What could possibly be that powerful?"

"A colossal monster capable of great destruction and has power almost unrivaled."

Mothra chirped again, interrupting the conversation.

"Mothra has decided it's time to tell you what she wishes for you."

Amagi mentally prepared herself, she wanted to make sure she understood whatever it was they were about to say.

"As you may now know, we are Mothra's priestesses. We are connected to her telepathically and spiritually. We can communicate with her as she can with us. The being that will be able stand against the coming threat is like Mothra, an ancient creature that was once worshipped by the Sakura Empire long ago. However, it has not had a priestess or anyone similar to that role. That is why you are here. Mothra wishes to form a connection between you and the creature. When the time comes for him to awaken, your quest will begin."

Amagi took it all in. This was a huge task she was being given by goddess of the Sakura Empire. She had no other choice but to accept it. "Who is the creature I am being assigned to?"

Mothra let out a few chirps louder than her previous ones.

The Shobijin smiled. "He is the most powerful among the other creatures like him. His legend is possibly the one most well-known. He has many titles like God of Destruction, God of the Sea, and the one he has rightfully earned, King of the Monsters. You will be the priestess of Gojira."

Amagi's eyes widened, of all the ancient Sakura gods, she didn't think he existed. Gojira was one of the most admired and feared of the ancient gods. "But what about my wisdom cube? It's cracked, I won't live very long after being brought back."

"Let Mothra show you."

As if on cue, the tips Mothra's antennae began glowing a bright gold. Amagi looked down and saw the same glow around her chest as the cracked wisdom cube slowly floated out from it and in front of her. The golden glow formed around the cube, and to her shock, the crack began to seal up. The golden glow then dissipated after the cube re-entered Amagi.

Amagi bowed after it was all done. "Thank you so much. I am eternally indebted to you."

"There is no need for that. Now Mothra will forge your connection with Gojira, but be warned, Gojira will not be easy to deal with. He is a being set in his own ways, unwilling to change. Your biggest challenge will be to keep the peace between him and humanity."

"I understand. I will do everything in my power to ensure there is little conflict between Gojira and humanity."

Mothra's antennae began glowing again along with her blue eyes growing brighter as well. The golden aura then started to surround Amagi. She suddenly started to feel a faint presence in her mind, steadily getting stronger as Mothra poured more power into whatever it was she was doing.

The presence Amagi felt was far from wherever she was, she knew that for sure. She could feel how ancient and powerful it was as well. "I'm starting to feel Gojira's presence. Would he not awaken upon completion of the connection?"

The Shobijin giggled at the chirps Mothra let out in response. "Mothra has prepared for that. You will quickly find that Gojira will be quite aggravated with her after this."

Amagi looked confused. "You mean he doesn't know that this is happening?"

"We had no choice; this is something that needs to be done. It would not matter what we or Mothra say to Gojira. He would refuse if he was told what we were doing."

Amagi was beginning to get an idea of what kind of personality Gojira has. From what she was feeling from the partial connection she had, her idea was confirmed. She could already tell, as well from the warnings from the Shobijin, that he was going to be a pain to deal with.

Suddenly, Amagi was bombarded with a series of thoughts that were not her own. They weren't in words, but a series of images and emotions. It was as if they were a communication from the other side of the connection.

Mothra let out a few chirps. The Shobijin translated as always. "Mothra says that those thoughts you just received are Gojira questioning you. She can feel the connection as she makes it which means she can hear your communication with each other. She is currently explaining everything to Gojira."

Amagi nodded her head in understanding. She could 'hear' Mothra's conversation with Gojira as well. From what she could tell, Gojira was not very happy with her, but Mothra was quite amused by his angry responses. It was like they were bickering siblings.

Amagi looked to the Shobijin. "How well do they know each other?"

The twins smiled at that. "Mothra and Gojira have known each other for millennia, they have a similar bond to siblings. They have fought each other just as much as they have fought together. Mothra may be younger, but she acts like she is the elder sibling."

Amagi smiled, she knew exactly how the sibling relationship worked. However, she couldn't think of it too long, for Gojira had begun sending her more thoughts of communication.

What Amagi saw in her mind was the feeling of curiosity and questioning along with images of herself. From what she could gather, Gojira was asking who and what she was. This was confirmed when the Shobijin translated a chirp from Mothra.

"Mothra says that Gojira is asking who you are."

"How do I explain it to him?"

"Gojira being aquatinted with Mothra means he is aquatinted with us as well. He understands the basics of human speech."

Amagi nodded in understanding and began to explain to Gojira her name and what she was. She did her best to explain exactly what a kansen was and why they were created.

After her explanation, Amagi waited for a response from Gojira. She didn't have to wait long, for he responded with thoughts of understanding and slight irritation. She somewhat understood why he'd be irritated.

Amagi decided to try and make a good first impression with the mighty being. 'I do hope we can get along and become friends.'

Gojira simply answered back with an uncaring and annoyed feeling and thoughts of going back to sleep. Amagi frowned and her fox ears drooped a bit at this. It was clear that it was going to take a lot of effort on her part to at least make a dent in his antisocial shell.

The Shobijin and Mothra took notice of Amagi's expression. "Do not worry, Amagi, it may take time, but eventually he will get used to your bond."

Mothra chirped and rested her head down. She was clearly exhausted from forming the connection.

Amagi took notice as the Shobijin nodded their heads toward Mothra. "Mothra has completed the bond. It is now time that we do our part."

Amagi looked to the Shobijin. "What do you mean?"

"We will transport you to Gojira's location. However, since he is at the bottom of the sea, your soul will be in his mind. When he awakens and reaches the surface, you will be able to manifest yourself physically but only within a certain distance from Gojira himself unless he allows you to be farther away. If you are too far away, you will immediately be pulled back into his mind."

Amagi nodded. "I understand, but what of my rigging? Will I still be able to summon and use it?"

"That will be for you discover in the future."

The Shobijin didn't give Amagi a chance to ask to elaborate further. They closed their eyes and put their hands up in prayer as a golden aura surrounded them. The same aura once again appeared around Amagi as she started to feel like she was weightless.

The golden aura started to get brighter and began to blind Amagi. She started to feel weightless as she felt her feet leave the ground. The light surrounding her then shot up through the top of the cave. She was nowhere to be seen as the aura dissipated from the Shobijin.

"Please take care of each other."

Author's Note: Let me know if you guys think I got the personality of Amagi close enough. Also let me know if you think the personalities of pre-Amagi's death Akagi and Battleship Kaga close enough. Godzilla's appearance in this will be the 2002-03 suit design because I feel it has the best look that can translate into anime well. He will also have Legendary Godzilla's height of 393ft. (119.8m)
