Two years later
A lot has changed for the Namikaze family ever since Kushina gave birth to fraternal twins. She gave birth to a boy named Menma Namikaze. Menma had red hair and black eyes. She also gave birth to a girl named Mito Namikaze. Mito had red hair and blue eyes. Naruto loved his two younger siblings, and it showed.
Mito was attached to Naruto and would always follow Naruto around whenever she could. Naruto was starting the academy in a few hours and felt confident. He had been training seriously for two years and knew he had become much stronger. He still followed the same training regime, except he doubled it. He was grateful that he had people to help him out. Naruto went downstairs and went inside the kitchen for breakfast.
"Good morning, sweetie," said Kushina as she set down a plate for Naruto. "Morning, Mom," said Naruto. "Hey, son, ready for the academy?" asked Minato. "Yeah, I'm so excited to make friends," said Naruto with a smile. "Good to hear. Now remember to stay humble. Just because you're ahead of someone doesn't mean you get to be rude," said Minato. "I know," said Naruto. "Great. Get some breakfast before you head out," said Minato with a proud smile.
Naruto nodded. He wore a black long-sleeve shirt with the Namikaze crest on the back. He had black ninja pants with kunai holsters on the side. He had bandages wrapped tightly around his thighs and his ankles. He was also wearing regular black shinobi sandals.
"Where you going?" asked Mito innocently. "I'm going to school," said Naruto with a smile. "School?" asked Menma. "What's school?" asked Mito. Naruto laughed. "You guys are too young to understand. I'll be back home later," said Naruto as he hugged his family goodbye.
At the academy,
Naruto entered the building and was led to his classroom by helpers. When he got there, he saw a bunch of kids. His father told him that his class would be very talented since there were a lot of kids from clans. Naruto took a seat in the middle left of the class. A few minutes later, a black-haired boy sat down next to Naruto. Naruto turned to look at the boy. The boy was wearing a black t-shirt with the Uchiha crest on the back of it, blue shinobi pants, and shinobi sandals.
"Hey, I'm Naruto Namikaze. It's nice to meet you," greeted Naruto. "Hello, I'm Itachi Uchiha. It's good to meet you too, Naruto-san," said Itachi. "An Uchiha?" That's so cool," thought Naruto. "Have you started ninja training?" asked Naruto. "Yes, I have. Have you?" asked Itachi. "Yep, I started years ago, and my family has been helping me," replied Naruto. "How long have you been training for?" asked Itachi. "About two years, what about you?" asked Naruto. "I've been training for the same amount," replied Itachi. "That's cool, and maybe we could become friends. I don't have many," Naruto said with a sheepish grin. Itachi looked at the boy in confusion. "Yeah, that'd be nice," said Itachi with a smile. Naruto returned the smile.
The two boys continued to converse about things they had in common as a girl with black hair and red eyes walked into the classroom. The girl immediately caught Naruto's attention as they made eye contact. Naruto quickly turned away and continued his conversation. "So, why do you want to be a ninja?" asked Naruto. "I want to become the clan head of the Uchiha clan and bring peace to the world," said Itachi. "That's cool. I didn't know you were the clan heir," said Naruto. "Yeah, being clan heir isn't what it seems. What about you?" asked Itachi. "What do you mean by that? Hmm, why do I want to become a ninja? I want to become the greatest Hokage this village has ever seen. I want to use my power to bring true peace to the world; there'll be no more wars or pointless fighting. Just people living peacefully," said Naruto. "That's good. We pretty much have the same goals, which will increase the chance of us finding peace for the world," said Itachi. "I agree," said Naruto.
A few minutes later, the teacher walked in. The teacher started taking attendance. "Kurenai Yuhi?" called out the teacher. "Here," answered the girl with black hair and red eyes. "Kurenai Yuhi?" thought Naruto. "Yugao Uzuki?" called out the teacher. "Here," answered a girl with purple hair. "Anko Mitarashi?" called out the teacher. "Here," answered another girl with purple hair. Itachi took notice of both of these girls. "Hayate Gecko?" called out the teacher. "Here," said a boy with black hair. "Itachi Uchiha?" called out the teacher. "Here," said Itachi. Everyone in the class looked at Itachi after hearing his last name. "So, that's the future Uchiha clan head?" whispered some kids. "Naruto Namikaze?" called out the teacher. "I'm here," said Naruto. Everyone now looked at Naruto. "The fourth Hokage's son? He's gotta be strong," said some kids. Kurenai looked over to Naruto with a slight blush.
The teacher began the introduction and explained how the academy worked and what they would do for the next few years. "We'll be heading outside today for some testing, just to see where everyone is at the start," said the teacher. The class followed him outside. "Alright, here are some kunai. Throw them at the dartboard and aim for the center," said the teacher.
The class nodded. Yugao went 8/10, Anko went 7/10, Hayate went 8/10, Kurenai went 9/10, Itachi went 10/10 and Naruto went 10/10. "Interesting, good job, everyone. Next will be sparring," explained the teacher. "It'll be Kurenai Yuhi vs Yugao Uzuki, Hayate Gecko vs Naruto Namikaze, and Itachi Uchiha vs Anko Mitarashi," explained the teacher.
Kurenai barely won her fight against Yugao. Naruto barely showed off and held back a bit and beat Hayate easily. Itachi did the same against Anko. "Okay, good job, everyone; lunch is in a few minutes, so get ready," explained the teacher.
The rest of the day went as usual. Naruto explained everything that happened today to Minato and Kushina on their way home. Minato and Kushina were happy to hear that their son wasn't antisocial since he spent his childhood training. "So, Itachi-kun is strong?" asked Kushina. "Yeah, he said he's been training for two years as well, he's my friend, but he's also my rival," said Naruto. Minato smiled at this. He remembered his rivalry with Itachi's father, Fugaku. It pushed both of them to be as strong as they could. He only hoped it would do the same for his son. "Well, I'm glad to hear that, Naruto-kun," said Minato. "We're going to drop you off at Kakashi's house for training today," said Kushina. Naruto nodded.
At Kakashi's house
Minato, Kushina, and Naruto waited patiently for Kakashi to open the door. Once he did, they all greeted him. "Ready to get started, Naruto?" asked Kakashi. "Yep, what're we doing today?" asked Naruto. "Some simple things, we're going to figure out your elemental affinity, and then I'm going to give you scrolls with some basic jutsu," said Kakashi. "Uh, okay," said Naruto. "Minato, shouldn't we get going?" asked Kushina. "Wait, I want to see this," said Minato.
Kakashi handed Naruto the chakra paper and told Naruto what to do. "If it is fire, the paper will catch fire. If it's wind, the paper will split in half. If it's lightning, the paper will wrinkle. If it's Earth, the paper will turn to dirt and crumble. If it's water, the paper will soak," explained Kakashi.
Naruto nodded as he applied chakra to the paper. To everyone's shock, nothing happened. "Does this mean I don't have an elemental affinity?" asked Naruto with sadness. "I guess so," said Kakashi. Suddenly, the paper split into hundreds of pieces, wrinkled heavily, and completely soaked. "Three elements at this age?" asked Kushina. "Not only does he have three, but they're all extremely powerful," said Kakashi with wide eyes. "This is unheard of. Everything I expect from my son," said Minato with a proud smile.
One year later
Naruto was waiting for his parents to pick him up from the academy. Naruto was now seven years of age. Not much had changed in his appearance except for height, but barely. He became great friends with Yugao, Hayate, Anko, and Kurenai. Itachi Uchiha was Naruto's best friend and rival. The two have been battling each other for the top spot in the class for quite some time. It would go back and forth between the two.
He specializes in taijutsu right now. This doesn't mean his other skills were weak; it was the opposite. Naruto was only lacking one thing. His chakra control. He had no idea why, but his chakra got harder to control every day, he decided to ask his father about it. Naruto saw the approaching figures of his parents in the distance.
"Dad? You're out of the office this early?" asked Naruto. "Indeed, I figured out how to get rid of all my paperwork. I use shadow clones!" exclaimed Minato. "I swear, I don't know how it took you so long to find that out," said Kushina. "Yeah, aren't you supposed to be a genius or whatever?" asked Naruto. "Okay, very funny. What matters most is that I figured it out," said Minato. "Anyways, Mom, where's Menma and Mito?" asked Naruto. "They're with Grandma Tsunade and Grandpa Jiraiya," replied Kushina. "Oh, okay. I have an important question that I can't quite figure out myself. How come my chakra control keeps getting worse?" asked the younger blond. "Hm, I believe that's a conversation for later tonight," said Minato. Naruto was confused but didn't say anything and just nodded. They all continued walking home.
Later that night,
"So? Why is my chakra control so terrible?" asked Naruto. "Well, the day you were born was special. However, it was ruined due to a man with an orange mask. Do you remember how Hiruzen told you about the great-tailed beasts? Your mother held the strongest one," said Minato. As he was about to continue, the younger blond cut him off. "So, I'm the holder of the nine-tailed fox?" asked Naruto. "Uh, yes. How'd you know that's where I was going?" asked Minato. "I could tell by your tone, and it's the only thing that makes sense," said Naruto. "Naruto, I hope you know this doesn't mean you're the beast. You hold him within yourself. It's like you're the storage scroll, and weapons are sealed inside the scroll," explained Kushina. "I know, Mom. I'm just confused, though; how are you still alive? Also, what does this have to do with my chakra control?" asked Naruto.
"Well, you see. Your grandmother is the greatest medic this world has ever seen. Your mother is also an Uzumaki, and Uzumaki's have the strongest life force this world has ever seen. The oldest Uzumaki was about 150 years old," explained Minato. "So, it's harder for Uzumaki to die," said Naruto. "Exactly, and you're half Uzumaki. Uzumaki also have vast chakra reserves. The nine-tailed fox is a being of pure chakra. Therefore, it cannot be simply killed. So, we sealed it within you. Now, the seal mixes your chakra with the nine-tails so your chakra becomes more powerful and dense," explained Minato. "Wait a minute. I get it now. Since I have so much chakra, and it's being mixed with the fox's chakra, it makes it difficult to control?" asked Naruto. "You got it," said Kushina. "Wow, I wasn't expecting this. I guess I should be happy that I have such a powerful weapon on my side," said Naruto. "Yes, however. The nine-tailed fox is no game or weapon for anyone to have," said Minato. "Naruto, you will have to meet the fox at some point. We will have this conversation when you're older, but for now, the fox isn't a weapon for you to use. He's a person," said Kushina.
Naruto held those words close to him. He realized he could be viewed as a weapon when he was a person. "Maybe, me and the fox aren't so different after all," thought Naruto. "Wait, aren't you an Uzumaki too, Dad?" asked Naruto. "No, Tsunade isn't my mother," replied Minato. "Jiraiya isn't my dad," said Kushina. "Oh, so Grandma Tsunade is an Uzumaki?" asked Naruto. "Kind of. She's a Senju, but the Uzumaki are distant relatives. I mainly get my Uzumaki genes from my father, but he passed away," explained Kushina.
"Oh," said Naruto with a sad tone heard. "He's in a better place now; he would've loved to meet you, though," said Kushina with a smile as she ran her hands through his golden hair. Naruto smiled. "I'm tired. All of this has me drained," said Naruto as he began heading to his room. "Get some sleep, son. Also, none of what was discussed here can be discussed anywhere else unless our permission is granted," said Minato sternly. "Oh, and we'll be working on that chakra control of yours," said Kushina. Naruto gulped but ultimately nodded.
Although his chakra control was horrible, the amount of chakra Naruto had was unheard of. He rivalled elite Jonin in this aspect. Not only did he have vast reserves, but his chakra was also extraordinarily powerful. Naruto was told that chakra usually had a light blue colour. However, when he lets his chakra roam free, it turns dark blue. This shocked all the people helping him with his training. Naruto also put his body through vigorous training, although it didn't show due to his young age.
Naruto was naturally speedy due to who his father was, and no one had ever seen Naruto tired. He was also powerful physically.
Naruto could now train even harder than before due to his age. Every day he felt himself getting stronger and stronger. For Itachi, he had unlocked his Sharingan, making him the youngest Uchiha ever to unlock the Sharingan. He had also been training with his father and close friend Shisui whenever he wasn't at school. Itachi and Naruto were both around low genin level overall. Naruto spent all of his time training and playing with his siblings. This would continue for two years.
Two years later,
Naruto Namikaze was walking toward the academy. It was his last day there as he would try to graduate early from the academy. Naruto had gotten much stronger after dedicating two years to training with his family and friends. He started using shadow clones to increase his training results. This proved to be the breakthrough in Naruto's training. He would make his shadow clones work on elemental jutsu, reading, and sealing. He also matured a lot due to Sarutobi's teachings. Sarutobi gave Naruto wisdom and tips on handling situations he would undoubtedly run into as a ninja. Naruto had also gotten taller over the past two years. He was now nine years old, and his siblings were both five.
Over the years, Naruto and Itachi got closer and closer, and the two quickly became best friends. Naruto was also very close friends with Hayate, Anko, Yugao, and Kurenai. It was different with Kurenai; Naruto liked her but didn't know how to approach the situation. Itachi also had a crush on both Anko and Yugao. Itachi and Kurenai decided to take the graduation exam early alongside Naruto. Itachi also unlocked his two tomoe sharingan in both eyes. Naruto was arriving at the academy when he saw Kurenai.
"Hello, Kurenai-san," said Naruto with a smile. "Hello, Naruto-san," said Kurenai. "So, do you think you'll pass?" asked Naruto. "Yeah, do you?" asked Kurenai. "Yeah, plus if we all pass, you, me, and Itachi will all be on one genin team," said Naruto. "That's true; I wonder who our sensei is going to be," said Kurenai in wonder. "Hopefully, someone strong," said Naruto. "Yeah, we better get inside, though," said Kurenai.
Naruto and Kurenai walked into the academy building and saw Itachi. "What's up, Itachi?" asked Naruto. "Hello, Naruto," said Itachi. "You ready?" asked Naruto. "Of course, I assume you are, too," replied Itachi. Naruto nodded. "Well, we better get in there," said Naruto. They all walked into the examination room. The first part of the exam was a written test. All three of them completed the test within minutes. The second part of the exam was performing the three basic academy jutsu. Naruto created hundreds of shadow clones and used the transformation jutsu to turn them into the examiner. Kurenai and Itachi made multiple clones and used the transformation jutsu to turn them into the examiner. They had all passed. They were pleased and were told to go to the academy tomorrow morning for team placements; even though they were all going to be on the same team, they still needed to meet their sensei.
The following day at the academy
Naruto, Itachi, and Kurenai were in the older academy classroom, waiting for their sensei to be revealed. The academy teacher continued to call out the teams. "Team 7, Kurenai Yuhi, Itachi Uchiha, and Naruto Namikaze," said the academy teacher. All heads turned towards the young group. "Your sensei is Might Guy," said the academy teacher.
"Hmm, who's Might Guy?" asked Itachi. "Kakashi-san talked about him a few times, and I've trained with him a few times. I think he's as strong as Kakashi or stronger," said Naruto. "I see; well, that's a good thing," said Kurenai. "Yeah, but he's mainly a taijutsu specialist, so he'll train us in that art. He also may send us to other senseis for training in more of the ninja arts," explained Naruto. "Well, that's perfect. My taijutsu could use a specialist," said Itachi. "Agreed," said Kurenai. "Well, when is our sensei coming?" asked Naruto, directing his question toward the teacher. "He should be here in a few minutes, Namikaze-san," said the teacher.
Naruto nodded. A few minutes passed as more teams continued to be called out. Eventually, Guy showed up. "Hello, young youthful Genin, I am the taijutsu specialist of the village hidden in the leave! I am your youthful sensei, Might Guy!" exclaimed Guy. "Wow, this guy has a lot of energy," thought Kurenai. "Hello, Guy-san," said Naruto. "Ah, Naruto. Great to see you again; I hope you've gotten better since last I saw you!" exclaimed Guy. Naruto nodded. "Well, tell me some things about you guys," said Guy.
"Like introduce ourselves? Well, I'm Kurenai Yuhi. I like training and spending time with my friends. I want to and will become the strongest kunoichi this village has ever seen," said Kurenai. "Perfect, just like that. I can see your blinding youthfulness!" exclaimed Guy. "I'm Itachi Uchiha; I like training with my clan members, I usually spend my time working on my Sharingan, but I'm not dependent on it like the rest of the clan. I like spending time with my friends, and I aim to bring peace to the elemental nations," explained Itachi.
"Well, that's amazing, Itachi-san. I love your youthfulness, and I hope I can help you reach your goal," said Guy. "Well, I'm Naruto Namikaze. I like spending time with my siblings, parents, grandparents, Sarutobi-sensei, and some more family friends. I spend most of my time training and sneaking into my father's study to learn his jutsus. My goal is to become the greatest Hokage this village has ever seen; once I do that, I'll bring ultimate peace to the corrupted shinobi world," explained Naruto. "I love all of your goals, and I can't wait to help you guys reach them; this is one of the most youthful teams I've ever seen!" Guy exclaimed.
"This guy is exploding with energy," thought Itachi. "However, you two boys spoke about peace and the corrupted shinobi world. How do you know about things like that?" asked Guy. "My parents and Hiruzen-sensei taught me about these things years ago," said Naruto sheepishly. "Yeah, my dad told me all about the world's cruelty," replied Itachi. Guy nodded. "Alright, let's go have our genin test," said Guy. "Our genin test? We just did that yesterday," said Kurenai. "No, you passed the academy test, not the genin test, follow me to training ground seven, and I'll explain everything," said Guy. Team 7 nodded as they followed their sensei.
At training ground 7
"Alright, what do you mean by the genin test?" asked Naruto. "Well, you guys passed the first part of the genin test, which is passing the academy. The second and final part of the genin test is getting these two bells from me," explained Guy. "Why're there only two?" asked Itachi. "Well, whoever gets a bell becomes a genin; if you don't have a bell, then you're sent back to the academy," explained Guy. "I see. However, I've never heard of a Genin team with only two Genin and a Jonin sensei. And how do they expect fresh Genin to beat a jonin, let alone three nine-year-olds," thought Naruto.
"Come at me with the intent to kill, or else you won't pass. You guys have three hours," explained Guy. "Begin," said Guy. Naruto, Kurenai, and Itachi all jumped into the nearby forest. They were still together. "Alright, listen up. This is for sure about teamwork," said Naruto. "What do you mean?" asked Itachi. "From everything I've learned with anyone that helps me train, they all ramble on and on about teamwork, and that's why Konoha is the strongest village in the elemental nations. They can't expect three Genin to beat an elite Jonin," explained Naruto. "That would make sense, but it's also not impossible to beat an elite jonin with three genin," said Kurenai.
"For sure, it's not impossible. It's always a possibility that he could underestimate us. That's a pretty low chance in these circumstances, we literally just graduated from the academy, and we're only nine. Also, have you guys ever heard of a Genin team with two Genin and one Jonin sensei? That goes against the standard four-person team," explained Naruto. Itachi and Kurenai's eyes widened in realization. "Wow, you're right. How'd you figure out the meaning of the test that fast?" asked Kurenai in shock. "I've been told that I soak up information like a sponge," said Naruto with a sheepish laugh.
"Good job, Naruto. Let's come up with a plan now," said Itachi. Naruto and Kurenai nodded. "Alright, he's a taijutsu specialist, so engaging in taijutsu with him doesn't make sense. I have mid to long-range ninjutsu in my arsenal. We'll throw ninjutsu at him until we see his dodging patterns and what he tends to do. After we've figured it out, I will use my strongest jutsu. Kurenai, first, you'll throw shuriken toward the right of him, and I will use my jutsu to combine with the shuriken. Then, Naruto uses your wind jutsu to enhance the speed and power of the fire jutsu," explained Itachi. "How will it hit him?" asked Naruto. "Continue using your wind jutsu to control the direction of the combined attack. We'll throw kunai and shuriken at him; for this to work, he needs to be in the air," explained Itachi. "Why in the air?" asked Kurenai. "Because then he won't have anywhere else to run, leaving him wide open for the combined attack," explained Itachi.
"That's a great plan, Itachi. However, what if he uses the substitution jutsu?" asked Naruto. "We just have to show teamwork and some skill; we shouldn't have to hit him or get the bells," explained Itachi. "I understand," said Naruto. "Good, no matter what, don't forget the plan," said Itachi. Naruto and Kurenai nodded. "Alright, ready?" asked Naruto. Itachi and Kurenai nodded as they all came out of the trees. Naruto got the left side of Guy. Itachi was in the middle, and Kurenai was on the right. Naruto and Itachi began using ninjutsu on Guy. "Wind Style: Wind Bullet," said Naruto as his jutsu approached Guy, Guy jumped to the right. They all took note of that.
Itachi went through hand signs. "Fire style: Great Fireball," said Itachi as his jutsu approached Guy, Guy jumped to the left. "Interesting," thought Naruto. Kurenai started throwing Kunai at Guy. Guy began dodging left and right and blocking the approaching kunai with his own. Itachi turned to Naruto and Kurenai and nodded. "Water style: Water dragon jutsu," said Naruto as his jutsu approached Guy. Guy quickly dodged the approaching water dragon and went to his right. Kurenai began throwing shuriken at Guy. Itachi quickly went through hand signs. "Fire style: Great fire flames," said Itachi as he took a deep breath and exhaled as his jutsu approached the shuriken, combining with it. "Now, Naruto!" screamed Kurenai and Itachi. "Wind Style: Great Tornado Technique," said Naruto as his Tornado combined with Itachi and Kurenai's attack.
Naruto was now controlling the jutsu as he continued to pressure Guy. Guy continued to use his speed to dodge.
Naruto put more of his chakra into the jutsu as it became much faster. Guy had no choice but to jump back and jump in the air. "This is it," they all thought.
"Should I trust Itachi and Kurenai to capitalize off this opportunity?" thought Naruto, thinking about all the jutsu they had to hit Guy in this position. "How youthful you all are!" exclaimed Guy. If this were another Jonin, they would've won. However, this was an elite Jonin. Guy dodged the team attack. "Well, you guys were close," said Guy as he landed.
Itachi and Kurenai smiled. "What're you guys smiling at?" asked Guy. Guy's eyes widened as he saw the bells in Kurenai's hands. Kurenai threw the two bells to Naruto and Itachi before getting up. "How did you get the bells?" asked Guy, shocked. "I used a very low-rank genjutsu; it was harmless enough that you wouldn't recognize it during battle and gave Itachi enough time to take the bells quickly," explained Kurenai. "They're good," thought Guy.
"Well, now you're returning to the academy," said Guy. "No, she's not. This was a test about teamwork; I've also never heard of a genin team with two Genin and one Jonin that goes against the standard four-person team," explained Naruto with a smirk.
"Smart, well, that is true. You guys showed teamwork, which was the whole point of the test, and you got the bells. Good job. We're officially a team!" exclaimed Guy. Team 7 was happy to hear this. "Alright, report at the Hokage tower tomorrow morning at dawn. We'll begin missions," said Guy. They all nodded.
"Good job on improvising with that genjutsu, Kurenai," said Naruto. "Yeah, because of that, we got the bells, and he was probably expecting a genjutsu from me, so you threw him off by performing a lower-rank genjutsu," said Itachi. "Thank you, I'm just glad it worked," said Kurenai. "I didn't know you could perform genjutsu," said Naruto. "I started recently, but something about it draws me in," said Kurenai.
"Hey, you guys wanna get something to eat?" asked Naruto. "Yeah, sure," said Naruto. "What're you tryna eat?" asked Kurenai. "I don't know, what do you guys feel for?" asked Itachi. "Barbecued chicken," said Naruto. "I'm okay with that," said Kurenai. "Yeah, same," said Itachi. They all headed off to the Akimichi shop for their food. They all ordered their food and conversed with one another. This continued for two hours before they left the restaurant and said their goodbyes.
Namikaze compound
"Hey, Naruto. I heard from Guy that you guys passed," said Minato. "Yeah, I figured out the test's purpose and told Itachi and Kurenai," said Naruto. "That's great; we're very proud of you, Naruto-kun," said Kushina. "Yeah, now, since you're a ninja, I can teach you the Rasengan," said Minato. "Rasengan?" asked Naruto. "Yep, one of my signature jutsu," said Minato as he created two Rasengans. "Wow, it's like a ball of pure chakra," said Naruto with awe.
"That's exactly what it is. This jutsu is incredibly powerful. However, it's incomplete, it's supposed to have an elemental nature, but I've been busy," explained Minato with a sheepish grin. "I can't wait to learn it! When do we start?" asked Naruto.
"You can start whenever. Luckily, you have the person who created the jutsu on your side. I've broken it down into three steps. The first step is getting a water balloon; you must spin your chakra fast enough to pop the balloon. The second step is building power in your chakra to pop the balloon. The third and final step combines steps one and two," explained Minato.
"Uh, should I be writing this down?" asked Naruto sheepishly. "Which brings me to my next point," said Minato as he gave Naruto a bunch of scrolls.
"What's this for?" asked Naruto. "Carry these around at all times. Whenever an idea pops into your head, you can write," explained Minato. "Wow, thanks, Dad. This will help me a lot, especially with training," said Naruto. "Well, yeah. We'll be starting your Rasengan training after your missions tomorrow," said Minato. Naruto nodded.
"So, where's Mito and Menma?" asked Naruto. "They're sleeping upstairs. They missed you," said Kushina with a smile. "Yeah, I got kind of busy, you know," said Naruto sheepishly. "I'm proud of you, Naruto; you've grown so much," said Kushina. "Thanks, Mom," said Naruto. "Well, I'm getting tired. Goodnight," said Naruto as he went up to his room. "I love that kid; he reminds me of myself so much," said Minato.
The next morning
Naruto woke up and got his ninja attire on. He was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with the Namikaze crest on the back in black. He also wore black pants with bandages wrapped around his thighs and ankles. He also had black shinobi sandals. Naruto quickly got breakfast, left the Namikaze compound, and went to the Hokage tower.
At the Hokage tower
"Ah, there he is," said Guy. Naruto awkwardly smiled. "Was I late?" asked Naruto. "No, they were just early," replied Minato. "Well, let's get started," said Naruto. "Well, here is your first official mission, team seven," said Minato as he handed Guy a D-rank mission. "Painting fences?" asked Itachi. Minato nodded. "Thank you, Hokage-sama," said Guy as he left with his team. Minato was happy to see Naruto become a ninja at only nine years of age. "Well, let's go paint their fence," said Kurenai.
They rushed to the address and quickly got to work. "The faster we do these D-rank missions, the faster we get a C-rank," said Itachi. "Agreed, let's go all out," said Naruto. "Shadow clone jutsu," said Naruto as he made hundreds of shadow clones to help paint the fence. Team 7 was done with this mission in a few minutes, and they returned to the Hokage tower to get more.
"Done already?" asked Minato while shocked. "Yes, Hokage-sama. My team is the most youthful in the village, and they are ready to prove it!" exclaimed Guy. Minato laughed. "Alright, here's another one," said Minato. "Taking the trash out of a river?" asked Kurenai. "Easy," said Naruto. They all rushed to the location of the river and began taking the trash out of the river.
"Back up, guys," said Naruto as he ran through hand signs. "Wind Style: Small Tornado," said Naruto as his jutsu collected all the trash in the river into a tiny Tornado. Naruto dropped all the trash on the grass as they picked it up and put it in the garbage. They rushed back to the Hokage tower for more missions. This continued for six hours. "How youthful of you guys to work from the start of duty until the end without breaks," said Guy with the biggest smile anyone had ever seen.
Guy broke out in tears of joy. "Relax, sensei," said Kurenai with a laugh. "He is right, though; you guys broke the record for most D-rank missions done in a single day by a genin team," said Minato with shock. "How much did we do?" asked Naruto. "You guys did thirty," said Minato. They were all upset.
"This is good, but why are you upset?" asked Minato. "We wanted to do sixty; guess we'll try tomorrow," said Kurenai. Naruto and Itachi nodded in agreement. Guy started crying in tears of joy once again after hearing his team's words. "Since you guys are so youthful, I'm going to train you for the rest of the day," said Guy. "Thank you, Hokage-sama," said Guy as he and his team left the office. Minato laughed. "What will you be teaching us, sensei?" asked Naruto. "I'm going to make you guys do some physical training," said Guy.
At training ground 7
"Here, put these on," said Guy as he handed them all some weird items. They all immediately fell to the ground. "What happened?" asked Naruto. "Oh, my apologies, those are weights. I'll put them on for you guys," said Guy. "How on earth do you expect us to move?" asked Itachi. "Just try it," said Guy. They struggled to stand up. After a few minutes, Naruto started to move a little bit. Itachi followed. Kurenai then followed. After about 20 minutes, they weren't moving at their usual speed, but they were moving.
"Alright, good. Now run eighty laps around this training ground," said Guy. "What?" asked Kurenai. "Eighty?" asked Itachi. "Around this large training ground?" asked Naruto. "Yes, and go full speed, or else I'm not counting it as a lap, and you lose a lap," explained Guy. "Begin," said Guy as he sat down. They all began running as fast as they could with the weights on.
Four hours later
They were all on the ground, breathing heavily. "I'm going to die," said Kurenai. "I'm about to be sick," said Naruto. "I am sick," said Itachi as he threw up. "I honestly don't think I can move," said Naruto. "Stop it; trust me, this will greatly help you guys in a short time. You'll notice a difference after you take them off today," said Guy. They all took their weights off. "Good, now run," said Guy. They all ran around the training ground. Naruto ran into a tree. Itachi ran into a fence. Kurenai ran into a bush. "See? You guys are so much faster that your body isn't used to being that fast," explained Guy. "Wow, I can tell," said Naruto.
"You guys are only this fast because it's your first time using them. Now, your bodies are too fragile for weights, right now. We need to build your strength before using weights regularly," explained Guy. "So, what was the point of that form of torture just now?" asked Kurenai. "Using them one time won't hurt, plus you all got faster," said Guy with a smile. "Now, we're going to do strength training for a few hours, and then you guys can go home," said Guy. During these few hours, they did hundreds of push-ups, situps, crunches, and more. This would continue for a few months.
