In Marinette's room, Marinette and Tikki are talking
"Marinette, this is quite a special day for you!" Declared Tikki. "Yes, Tikki! It sure is. Hm, still no call..." Said Marinette.
Marinette heads up to her balcony, distracted by her phone.
"There's a ritual we kwamis perform on a day like this" Said Tikki. "Oh really? That's nice" Said Marinette, distracted. "But I don't know if you humans would like it. I wonder if you guys even give each other presents on your birthday" Said Tikki. "Oh really, Tikki? You got me a birthday present?" Asked Marinette, suprised. "A kwami specialty" Said Tikki. "Oh, that so awesome! What is it?" Asked Marinette.
Tikki does a small dance in the air while humming, then spits something into Marinette's hands
"Miraculous birthday, Marinette!" Declared Tikki.
Marinette looks shocked and slightly disgusted
"Oh no, you don't like it, do you?" Asked Tikki, crestfallen. "Yes! Yes, I love it! It's amazing. It's a, uhhh, what is it?" Asked Marinette. "A Kwagatama. A great symbol of friendship among us kwamis. We take a hair from our Miraculous holder and join it to the hairs of all the former Miraculous holders. And with them we grow a magic resin for a few months and…" Said Tikki.
Tikki notices Marinette is on her phone not listening and looks disappointed
"I know you don't wanna tell me because you don't want to hurt my feelings but it's obvious you don't like it" Said Tikki. "I'm sorry, Tikki! I really love your gift. It's just that Alya should already have called me by now. We're supposed to be taking her little sister to the dentist at four o'clock today" Said Marinette, winking. "Do you humans always celebrate your birthday by going to the dentist?" Asked Tikki, surprised. "No, of course not, Tikki. It's a secret code! They're actually throwing me a surprise birthday party!" Declared Marinette. "But how can it be a surprise if you know about it?" Asked Tikki. "The thing about surprises is you know about it but pretend you don't so you won't spoil it for the people who are organising it!" Declared Marinette. "What about the dentist?" Asked Tikki. "It's a fake-out! See, Alya's gonna pretend to take me to the dentist, but she'll really be taking me to my surprise party!" Declared Marinette. "What if you're wrong?" Asked Tikki. "Impossible. All the signs are there, Tikki. Juleka totally jumped when I caught her holding a bicycle pump" Said Marinette.
In a flashback, Juleka stammers wordlessly and Marinette walks off, humming. The flashback ends in Marinette's Room, as Tikki and Marinette continue their conversation.
"Perhaps Juleka has a bicycle" Said Tikki. "No, Tikki! Obviously she was planning to use the pump to blow up balloons! A surprise birthday party always has balloons! Also, yesterday…" Said Marinette.
In another flashback that plays as she talks, Marinette is sitting beside Nino on a bench to listen to his headphones
"I caught Nino listening to my favourite song!" Declared Marinette, as the flashback ends. "Perhaps it's his favorite song, too!" Declared Tikki. "Are you kidding? He hates it! He has no reason to listen to it unless... He's making a playlist for my surprise party! Elementary" Said Marinette.
Tikki gives Marinette a sceptical look and a third flashback plays as Marinette describes it.
"Okay. Why was Alya having a secret convo with Adrien, huh?" Asked Marinette.
Adrien and Alya see Marinette then they continue their conversation
"Uh, uh... yes, Alya! I know a very good dentist and here's his number!" Declared Adrien, as he holds out a paper to Alya and the flashback ends. "Which means... He's going to be there!" Declared Marinette. "Or it means Alya is taking her sisters to see Adrien's dentist!" Declared Tikki. "Fine, you know what? There's one no fail way to find out if there's a surprise party in the making" Said Marinette.
Marinette goes downstairs as she whispers to Tikki.
"Watch their faces" Said Marinette.
Marinette flings open the door to the bakery.
"Mom! Dad! Do you know anything about Alya planning a surprise party for my birthday?" Asked Marinette.
Her parents freeze in place, in the middle of decorating a large cake. Tom immediately hides the cake in the garbage and sits on the lid while Sabine leans on the counter
"Uh, oh, uh... Party? Uh, what party? Uh, which Alya, again?" Asked Tom. "You're overdoing it... we're talking about her best friend" Wispered Sabine. "Alya! Of course, Alya! We haven't seen her in years" Said Tom, as he nervously laughs.
Marinette exits the bakery, making Tom and Sabine sigh in relief.
"See? Parents always know when there's a surprise party in the works" Said Marinette.
The doorbell rings
"And now, on the other side of this door, check out who's coming to get me! Just in time for the party! It's… Grandma?!" Declared Marinette, as she opens the door.
Tom and Sabine stick their head around the corner.
"Mom?" Asked Tom. "Gina?" Asked Sabine.
Marinette laughs in delight and hugs her grandmother, Gina Dupain.
"Marinetta! You're so tall for your age! Did you get my letter from Patagonia?" Asked Gina, as she pushed up her sunglasses. "Yes! And the ones from Australia, Bali, and Estonia, too! Did you really get chased by a bear?!" Asked Marinette. "Yes. But we wound up good friends in the end" Said Gina. "Mom. It's her birthday, remember?" Whispered Tom. "Why do you think I'm here? Happy birthday, my little fairy! My Inuit friend knitted it especially for your tenth birthday!" Declared Gina, as she gives Marinette a package from inside her motorcycle helmet. "Uh, she's fourteen" Whispered Tom. "My. How time flies" Said Gina, visibly startled.
Marinette opens the package, and the shirt inside is obviously much too small for her. Gina waves her hand.
"That's okay. I'll ask my friend to make another one" Said Gina. "No! No, it's awesome! I can make this work. It's perfect, grandma. Thank you" Said Marinette. "Your Nonna has also brought you your favourite candy!" Said Gina, as she places a tin in Marinette's hand. "Oh" Said Marinette, as she laughs uncertainly. "You still love them, right?" Asked Gina. "Yes, yes of course..." Said Marinette. "And that's not all, my fairy! We'll have a wonderful day, you and I! Just like the last time. Well go to the merry-go-round and to the zoo, then…" Said Gina. "Uh, mom? Can I have a word, mom? Uh, just the two of us" Said Tom. "What, Tom? That I don't know my Marinetta anymore because I'm always travelling?" Asked Gina. "No, mom! It's just…" Said Tom. "You think she doesn't want to spend time with her Nonna, is that it?" Asked Gina. "No! Of course I want to spend time with you! Uh, besides, it's not four o'clock yet" Said Marinette. "There. You see? Come on, let's go, Marinetta! We're going to have a ball!" Declared Gina.
Gina pulls Marinette out of the house. Marinette and Gina go around Paris, first to a merry-go-round, then the zoo, ending on the Pont des Arts. Gina is getting ice cream for her and Marinette, who has been pretending to eat the candies and constantly checking her phone.
"It's four o'clock. Maybe you were right. I jumped to conclusions, and there really is no surprise party" Said Marinette, as she spits out another candy into the wrapper and puts it in the tin. "How come you don't tell your grandmother you don't like this candy?" Asked Tikki. "I don't want to hurt her feelings. We don't get to see each other very often" Said Marinette.
Marinette's phone rings and Marinette yelps in surprise, nearly dropping her phone before answering it.
"Alya!" Declared Marinette.
Meanwhile, in The Palace des Vosges behind Alya are Kim, Nathaniel, Juleka, Hope and Emily who are attempting to blow up balloons and set up tables.
"Sorry, I'm running late. Can you meet me at the park? Well, uh…" Said Alya.
She stops when the balloon Kim is inflating explodes, knocking him back while Nathaniel and Juleka are unfazed. Alya hurriedly continues what she was saying.
"Jam straight from there to the uh, dentist!" Declared Alya.
Meanwhile, at the Pont des Arts.
"Yes, uh, yes! Awesome! To the dentist! Totally! I'll be right there!" Declared Marinette.
Marinette hangs up and turns to find Gina standing there
"Oh! Uh- I'm so sorry, Grandma. I have to go to the dentist with Alya" Said Marinette. "Surely you're not going to the dentist on your birthday? I still have to take you to see the trains at Gare de Lyon Station" Said Gina. "Well, it's because Alya actually has sisters who are twins and well, because there are two of them, Alya needs my help… Wait what am I saying? That's all a fake-out. You know what I think, Grandma, is that Alya might be throwing me a surprise birthday party…" Said Marinette. "I get it, my fairy. Don't worry about me. Run along now and go meet your friend" Said Gina, obviously saddened. "Are you sure?" Asked Marinette. "Go on. I'll hold on to all of this. We'll catch up with each other later" Said Gina.
Marinette hugs Gina tightly
"Oh, thank you! You really are the best grandma in the world!" Declared Marinette, as she runs off, leaving Gina on the bridge.
Some time later, back at the Bakery. Tom is putting the candles on the cake when Sabine rushes in.
"Tom, that's the motorcycle! They're coming back! Marinette can't see the cake!" Declared Sabine.
Sabine leaves, and Tom picks up the cake in a panic, looking for where to hide it and ends up stuffing it in the garbage again.
"Uh, where's Marinette?" Asked Sabine, as Gina entered. "Tom was right. She's too old now to spend time with her Nonna..." Said Gina. "What? No, no! Tom never said that" Said Sabine. "That's sweet of you, Sabine. But it's not a big deal. That's life. I'll be up in the apartment if you need me" Said Gena, as she goes upstairs sadly.
Sabine walks over to Tom, who is standing gloomily over the trash.
"You should go and speak to your mother, she's up… Oh no!" Exclaimed Sabine, as she noticed the trashed cake. "I know, and it's almost time for the party!" Exclaimed Tom. "Okay, I can help you. We can manage, and we'll take Gina to the party with us!" Declared Sabine, as she and Tom kissed.
Meanwhile, in The Place des Vosges. Alya leads a blindfolded Marinette to her surprise party, and she's delighted, especially to see Adrien smiling and waving to her. Meanwhile, in Marinette's bedroom, Gina looks at the tin of sweets she gave Marinette. Back at the The Place des Vosges, Marinette receives a book from Mylène and hugs her. In Marinette's bedroom, Gina looks sadly at the shirt she got Marinette and then goes to eat one of the candies, discovering that Marinette has not been eating them as she does so. She puts the lid back on. At Hawk Moth's lair, The window opens and the butterflies take flight.
"What could be more powerful than a grandmother deserted by her own granddaughter? Perfect fodder for disappointment and misunderstanding! Fly away, my little akuma and evilize her ailing heart!" Declared Hawk Moth, as a butterfly lands in his open hand and is converted into a akuma before taking flight.
The akuma flies out the window and out over Paris. Some time later, in Marinette's bedroom. The akuma flies in Marinette's open window and lands in the candy tin.
"Befana, I am Hawk Moth. I'm restoring your matriarchal power as grandmother. You will use these candies to reward the deserving and punish the ungrateful. As for my reward, you will bring me the Miraculous of those pesky little kids, Ladybug and Cat Noir!" Declared Hawk Moth. "You're right, Hawk Moth. The time has come to teach them all a lesson" Said Gina, as she transforms into Befana.
Back in the Bakery, Tom and Sabine are finishing decorating the third cake with sprinkles and strawberries. Sabine is seated on Tom's shoulder to reach the top.
"Tada!" Exclaimed Sabine. "Ha!" Exclaimed Tom. "Good job, partner! We'd better get going, the party awaits us!" Declared Sabine, as she pats Tom's chest. "Oh, wait, we've gotta tell mom" Said Tom.
Befana flies through the bakery door on her motorcycle.
"Not this time. Don't tell your mama what to do" Said Befana.
Tom and Sabine are startled, and Tom slips on a rolling pin and the third cake lands in the garbage yet again. Befana laughs and starts waving her candy gun.
"Do you know what naughty boys get?" Asked Befana.
Befana spins the cylinder of her gun and fires it at Tom, turning him into a coal statue.
"Coal!… You have nothing to fear, my fairy" Said Befana, as she turns to a terrified Sabine, who is cornered by the register.
Befana flicks her wrist to rotate the cylinder of her gun to white.
"You've always been good to me" Said Befana.
Befana fires at Sabine, who turns into an angel-like fairy with a white mask.
"So, now tell me. Marinetta isn't at the dentist, is she?" Asked Befana. "No, mistress" Said Sabine. "Then take me to her!" Declared Befana.
Meanwhile, at The Place des Vosges
"Happy birthday, Marinette" Said Adrien.
Marinette stares, open-mouthed, at the small blue box in her hand until Alya's hand reaches over and closes her mouth.
"Open it, Marinette" Said Alya.
Marinette giggles but before she can open Adrien's gift, Befana's voice interrupts, startling everyone as she arrives.
"La Befana comes at night, on her shaky broom in flight. She gives candy to those who are dandy" Sung Befana.
She then hops off her motorcycle and walks towards Marinette.
"Grandma!?" Asked Marinette. "You lied to your grandma, Marinetta" Said Befana.
Adrien and Emily runs off in the background as Befana is speaking, as Hope moves towards Marinette.
"No, I didn't know Alya was throwing a surprise party for me" Said Marinette. "She's for real, ma'am" Said Alya. "And all those candies you pretended to be eating?" Asked Befana. "I'm sorry, grandma. It's just that I didn't want to upset you" Said Marinette. "I'm not your grandma anymore. From now on, I am only Befana! And I'm going to punish you for all those lies!" Declared Befana.
Befana tries to shoot Marinette, but Hope pulls Marinette out of the way. Mylène is hit instead and turns to coal
"No!" Exclaimed Marinette. "How awful" Said Hope.
Adrien is hiding behind a tree and lets Plagg out of his outer shirt.
"We didn't even get in on the buffet!" Exclaimed Plagg. "Party's over, my friend! Plagg, claws out!" Declared Adrien.
Adrien transforms into Cat Noir, as Emily attaches the Revice Driver to her waist. Emily then holds up the Rex Vistamp and pressed the Activate Knock, making it announce "Rex!". Emily stamps the Rex Vistamp onto the screen of the Revice Driver making it announce "Come on! Re-Re-Re-Rex!". Emily then places the Rex Vistamp into the Vistamp Go Slot before pulling it to the side, revolving the screen and making it announce "Buddy Up! Ohing! Shoning! Rolling! Going! Kamen Rider! Revi! Vice! Revice!", as Emily transformed into Kamen Rider Revi.
"It's rude to leave while Befana's still speaking to you" Said Befana.
Befana's aim is knocked away by Cat Noir's Staff and she looks over at him, as Emily arrives. Cat Noir is perched on top of a speaker.
"Hey, I never knew grandmas could be so nasty" Said Cat Noir. "Somebody needs to learn some elegance" Said Emily. "You two would look wonderful in white" Said Befana.
Befana rotates the cylinder of her gun again and fires at Cat Noir and Emily, who dodge easily, but barely.
"Eh, not convinced. I'm much more into black- makes my eyes stand out, don't you think?" Asked Cat Noir. "Not really…" Said Emily, as they dodge more blasts from Befana's gun. "Take care of that pesky pussycat!" Declared Befana.
The fairy Sabine flies up to get Cat Noir, who dodges her.
"Hey, I thought fairies were supposed to be nice!" Declared Cat Noir.
Sabine manages to attack him and they go into the treetops, as Emily presses the Ohinstamp against her chest, causing it to transform into the Ohinbuster50. Befana starts firing coal shots at Marinette and Hope, with Emily defending Hope and Marinette as they ran away.
"You're not getting away unpunished, Marinetta!" Declared Befana.
Marinette trips and drops Adrien's present, which is turned to coal
"You don't deserve all these presents, you spoiled little brat! Now, for what you really deserve" Said Befana.
Befana attempts to fire her gun again, but it is empty, forcing her to reload from the bag at her waist. Hope picks Marinette up off of the ground and they teleport away.
"Don't worry. You'll get what's coming to you" Said Befana.
Meanwhile, Hope and Marinette appear in Marinette's room.
"Oh, Marinette. I apologise about your surprise party…" Said Hope. "It's ok. You need to help those people" Said Marinette. "Right… wait, she was your grandmother?" Asked Hope. "Uh, yeah" Said Marinette. "Ok… I probably shouldn't be doing this, but… I guess since it's your birthday…" Said Hope.
Hope outstretched his hand, and the Seiken Swordriver with Suiseiken Nagare appeared in his hand.
"Marinette. Will you help the Heroes of Paris save your grandmother from the Akuma who controls her?" Asked Hope. "Uh… but what if I…" Said Marinette. "You won't, Marinette. I have the upmost faith that you'll defeat her with me, Emily, Cat Noir and Ladybug" Said Hope. "Hope… it's nice, but I can't. Bringing in a civilian like me could be catastrophic" Said Marinette. "Correct, but I believe differently. The ability to fight is one thing that everyone has. All you would need for everything to go perfectly is discipline and training. Something we don't have time for" Said Hope. "Right…" Said Marinette. "Although, maybe one day" Said Hope, as the Seiken Swordriver with Suiseiken Nagare disappeared.
Hope gave Marinette a red Rider ID Core, with a Black Ladybug head decal on the front of it.
"Happy Birthday, Marinette" Said Hope, as he went to go downstairs. "Hey… maybe you should use the roof exit" Said Marinette. "Roof exit? Where?" Asked Hope. "Just on top of my bed" Said Marinette.
Hope walked over to Marinette's ladder and climbed it to get on top of her bed before looking up.
"Oh! Hey, that's way quicker! Thanks, Marinette!" Declared Hope, as Hope exited Marinette's room.
Marinette sighed, as Tikki appeared in front of Marinette.
"Ugh, this isn't how I envisioned my birthday party..." Said Marinette. "I can't believe that Hope tried to recruit you" Said Tikki. "Well, Hope probably wouldn't have done that if he knew I was Ladybug, but I'm much more grateful for getting me out of the Park. Tikki, we need to transform! Tikki, spots on!" Declared Marinette.
Marinette transforms into Ladybug, as Hope holds up the Stand Player.
"I'm going to need some real good defence for this one… or, maybe…" Said Hope, as Hope puts on the Stand Player.
Hope held up the Hermit Purple Stand Tape before he inserted the Hermit Purple Stand Tape into the Stand Player, making it announce "Hermit Purple, Stand Up!", before Hope pressed a button on the front of the Stand Player, making it announce "Purple Vines of introspection and contemplation! Oh my god! Stardust Crusade! Purple Hermit!", as he transformed into Kamen Rider Stand Purple Hermit Form.
Meanwhile, Alya and some of her classmates are hiding behind a bush, watching Cat Noir and Emily struggle with their opponents.
"We gotta help them!" Declared Alya. "The time has come to teach you a lesson" Said Befana.
Befana goes to shoot Emily, but a plate hits her and she looks around to see Alya throwing plates at her.
"Marinette is not a brat!" Declared Alya. "Someone has to teach you table manners!" Declared Befana, before she shoots Alya, turning her to coal. "Alya!" Shouted Emily.
Kim tries to jump Befana and grab her gun, but is turned to coal.
"No, Kim!" Yelled Emily. "That's what you get for stealing candy, you bunch of ill-mannered kids!" Declared Befana. "Don't touch Emily! She's one of the nicest person in the world!" Declared Rose. "That's very disrespectful, to speak up without permission! But then again, it's quite noble of you to stick up for your friends. Okay. I shall make you a fairy" Said Befana.
Befana attempts to turns Rose into another white, angel-like fairy, but Emily blocks the shot with the Ohinbuster50.
"Get away from here" Said Emily.
Behind Emily, Sabine falls into the trees and Cat Noir drops down beside her.
"Sorry I kept you waiting" Said Cat Noir. "It's not you I'm worried about. We've only got a Jack and a Jester, the Queen and King are missing…" Said Emily. "Witch one am I?" Asked Cat Noir. "Absolutely Jester" Said Emily. "Well, I guess that's fair" Said Cat Noir. "Those heroes are interfering! Catch them!" Declared Befana.
The fairies try to follow the order, but are caught up in banners held by Marinette's remaining friends.
"The Superheros are cool, so don't touch them" Said Juleka. "We won't let you hurt them!" Declared Max. "Is that how you speak to your elders? How rude" Said Befana.
Befana goes to fire on Marinette's friends, but Emily shoots first using the Gundephone50, stunning Befana.
"We got to get them out of here" Said Emily, as she grabbed some of Marinette's Friends. "Way ahead of you" Said Cat Noir.
Emily and Cat Noir take Marinette's friends away from the party, as Befana recovers, before she starts to fly around the city. Whilst Befana sings "La Donna è Mobile", she turns a young boy who accidentally littered and a little boy teasing a little girl into coal, then turns Jean Duparc into a fairy for helping a woman and her baby and a firefighter into a fairy for saving a little girl's cat. The fairies join her, and she turns a man honking his car horn into coal.
"La Befana comes at night, on her shaky broom in flight. She gives out candy to those who are dandy. And only gives coal to brats with no soul" Sung Befana.
Suddenly, Befana is knocked off her bike by Cat Noir's staff getting in her way, as he begins to sing to the same melody as Befana.
"Cat Noir comes to, unexpectedly… Uh, how do you make that rhyme?" Asked Cat Noir.
Ladybug lands beside him and continue his song.
"Fighting evil with his lady!" Sung Ladybug.
Hope lands next to Ladybug, pointing at Befana with the Stand Enforcer.
"We hope you'll stay around" Said Hope.
Emily walks up besides Cat Noir, pointing the Ohinbuster50 at Befana.
"As we pummel you into the ground!" Declared Emily. "Not bad, guys" Said Cat Noir. "Huh? What's up?" Asked Hope. "Something funny?" Asked Emily. "You were in tune, that's all" Said Cat Noir. "Ladybug has joined the party at last! Bring me the Miraculous, Befana!" Declared Hawk Moth, from his lair. "You didn't say the magic word!" Declared Befana.
Hawk Moth looks visibly taken aback by this and he clears his throat, hunching his shoulders
"Ahem. Please" Said Hawk Moth, Annoyed. "Much better, Hawk Moth! You little thief! Where have you hidden Marinetta?!" Declared Befana, as she she points at Hope. "Hum… Hopetta… forgetta" Said Hope. "Watch out, or you'll be getting a time out of your own" Said Ladybug. "Take care of these little villains" Said Befana.
Befana's fairies begin attacking Ladybug, Cat Noir, Hope and Emily, who dodge them before a few purple vines fly out of Hope's arm and wrap themselves around the angels.
"What does the evil man do when he feels threatened? He climbs!" Declared Befana.
Befana runs across the rooftops before jumping onto her motorcycle, heading for the Eiffel Tower. Cat Noir sees where she's headed.
"She's heading for the Eiffel Tower for some reason" Said Cat Noir. "Uh… well, I didn't put Marinette there. Marinette should be safe at her house. And if Befana is going in the opposite direction then we should be able to effectively protect her. We just have to tie these angels up" Said Hope, as he bound the angels together using his vines. "Well, that sorts that" Said Ladybug. "Ok, I've got an idea for how we can take down Befana" Said Emily.
Meanwhile, at the Eiffel Tower. Befana is flying around the Tower.
"Where are you, Marinetta? Befana has a special treat for you!" Declared Befana.
Cat Noir drops onto the back of her bike
"Can I hitch a ride? Your granddaughter isn't here. Let me show you the way" Said Cat Noir, as he grabs a handle of the bike and steers it away. "Pets are not allowed on board!" Declared Befana, as she spins the bike and unseats Cat Noir, who is caught by Ladybug as he falls.
Meanwhile, Hope clings onto the bike with his Vines, as Emily holds up the Eagle Vistamp before using it in the Revice Driver, witch announced "Buddy Up! Araburu! Takaburu! Sora kake meguru! Eagle! Omae no hane o kazoero!" as she transformed into Kamen Rider Revi Eagle form. Emily sends a gust of wind up at Befana, knocking her off of her bike.
"Molto bene! You'll all make perfect fairies!" Said Befana, as she fires fairy shots at Ladybug, Cat Noir, Hope and Emily, who all move around to avoid them. "Thanks, but no thanks" Said Ladybug. "You can't turn down a gift, you rude little imp!" Said Befana. "Oh? That's a coal candy for you, madama. Should be ok right? After all, you're immune to the effects of the candy, right?" Asked Hope.
Befana fires coal shots at Hope, who lets go of Befana's bike to block the shots with his vines, before cutting them off of his arm with the Stand Enforcer, witch fall and fuse to the ground once completely made into coal.
"Lost track of her. Where is she?" Asked Hope. "I've found her" Said Ladybug.
Befana pursues Ladybug up the side of the Tower, firing a volley of shots at her which Ladybug dodges. When the missed shots go to fall on her, she dives into the tower. Befana dodges the falling shots
"Hmm..." Said Ladybug.
Befana attempts to fire at Ladybug, but she is out of ammo. Emily, Hope, Cat Noir and Hope all meet up as Befana reloads.
"I saw Befana dodging her own candies. Even she can't touch them!" Declared Ladybug. "Perfect. We have everything we need already" Said Hope, as he holds up the Sun Stand Tape. "What does that one do?" Asked Cat Noir. "Nothing much. It's just the sun in my hands" Said Hope, as he changes the Stand Enforcer into Rifle mode.
Hope inserts the Sun Stand Tape into the bottom of the Stand Enforcer, making it announce "Stardust Crusaders, Going Live! Sun, Tune Up The Band!". A sun-like ball of fire began forming at the front of the Stand Enforcer, as Hope began aiming at Befana. Hope then pulled the trigger, firing the ball at Befana's candy bag, witch it passed through.
"Alright. Ladybug, we need something to catch candy in" Said Hope. "Of course! Lucky Charm!" Declared Ladybug, as she catches the tuba made by the Lucky Charm. "You didn't tell me you played the tuba" Said Cat Noir. "I don't, but it looks like I'm gonna have to learn" Said Ladybug. "Well, maybe that can help us in another way…" Said Hope.
Befana's coal shots hit the area around Ladybug, Cat Noir, Emily and Hope, making the ground under them crumble and they fall to a lower level.
"Very naughty. I'm going to have to take your toys away from you" Said Befana.
Ladybug looks over her shoulder for her Lucky Charm, and her Lucky Charm vision alights on the elevator doors, the underground fire hydrant, and the tuba.
"Okay. You win, Befana" Said Ladybug, as she winks to a shocked Hope, Emily and Cat Noir. "Yes. I must apologise. I did bring your granddaughter here" Said Hope. "Never too late to tell the truth, right?" Said Emily. "I don't believe you" Said Befana. "Oh? Then I'll take you to her myself" Said Hope, as he canceled his transformation. "Hum… you are a good man. Show me to her" Said Befana. "Definitely" Said Hope, as he hopped on Befana's Bike.
Befana and Hope flew away. The moment they are out of earshot, Ladybug turns back with a chuckle as she, Cat Noir and Emily stand up.
"What's the plan?" Asked Cat Noir.
Meanwhile, Elsewhere on the Eiffel Tower. Hope opens a closet door, revealing nobody inside.
"What is the meaning of this?! She isn't here!" Declared Befana. "It's as I said. Hopetta. Forgetta" Said Hope
Befana growls in frustration, then hears the elevator. Befana sees it going down.
"There you are! Nice try, Marinetta, but you won't get away that easily! Ha!" Declared Befana.
Befana jumps over the glass guard wall onto her motorbike, laughing. Meanwhile Hope looks down at her before transforming into Kamen Rider Stand Sticky Fingers form and entering a hole created by a zipper. Meanwhile, at the base of the Eiffel Tower. Befana hops of her motorbike, spinning and readying her weapon for when the doors open.
"I'm waiting for you, Marinetta" Said Befana.
She is shocked to find her fairies tied up inside the elevator
"What?" Asked Befana, as Ladybug, Cat Noir and Emily land behind her. "I figured everyone should be here. As you fall" Said a voice.
Suddenly, Hope's fist slams into Befana, as Hope emerges from a zipper between Befana and her Angels, as Ladybug throws her yo-yo to the Lucky Charm tuba.
"Cat Noir! The fire hydrant!" Declared Ladybug. "My pleasure! Cataclysm!" Declared Cat Noir.
Cat Noir uses his left hand to pull the cover off the fire hydrant and presses down on the hydrant with Cataclysm, causing a fountain of water to appear. Hope punches Befana a second time, making her turn around with a noise of surprise in time to see Ladybug slam the tuba down on the torrent of water, sending a jet of it straight for Befana, who tries to block it with her gun and turn it to coal. The shot affects the water, the tuba, and Befana herself. Ladybug giggles with joy and grabs the candy box, breaking it in half, with a solid brick of candies inside the box.
"I see. You used the Sun to adhere the candy together" Said Emily. "Pretty much." Said Hope. "No more evildoing for you, little akuma! Time to de-evilize! Gotcha!" Declared Ladybug, as she captures the akuma in her yo-yo.
Ladybug presses the button at the top of her yo-yo and releases the purified akuma
"Bye-bye, little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!" Declared Ladybug, as she throws the still coal tuba in the air.
The Miraculous Ladybug undoes all the damage, first turning the coal Befana back into Befana herself before turning her back into Gina.
"Pound it!" Declared Ladybug, Hope, Cat Noir and Emily, as they fist bumped.
Meanwhile, in Hawk Moth's lair
"Those Heroes... they've escaped punishment yet again! I won't sugarcoat the truth, and next time I will destroy you and have the Miraculous!" Declared Hawk Moth, as his window closes.
Back at Marinette's party, Nino is playing music and the guests are having a good time. Gina is standing at the ice cream cart from earlier, talking with its vendor.
"So, how about you, André? Do you have anyone in particular to share your ice cream with these days?" Asked Gina. "Well, actually, I have yet to find the perfect blend of flavours" Said André.
Marinette hugs her grandmother tightly from behind, with Hope and Emily trailing behind her.
"Grandma!" Declared Marinette. "There you are. One Marinette Dupain-Chang, near pristine condition" Said Hope. "She was ok?" Asked Gina. "Hiding in her room. Apparently also while making a new purse" Said Emily. "So, this is what you did with that tee shirt?" Said Gina, as she points to a new version of her purse Marinette is wearing. "I fixed it up, grandma. I've been sewing ever since the last time you came to visit" Said Marinette.
Gina wipes a tear from her eye
"You're so grown up, Marinette. You know what? There'll be no more merry-go-rounds or zoos. For your next birthday, I'll take you on one of my trips!" Declared Gina.
Marinette hugs her again.
"Thank you, Grandma! But you know, it doesn't matter where you take me. With you, it's always unforgettable" Said Marinette.
The other guests begin to sing "Happy Birthday" as Marinette's parents bring out the cake. Ivan and Kim lift Marinette up so she can blow out the candles, then set her gently on the ground as people clap
"Bravo. You never got a chance to open it with all that was going on" Said Adrien, as he holds out his gift to Marinette.
Marinette opens it with delight and is surprised to find a handmade charm bracelet inside.
"I always carry the lucky charm you gave me with me wherever I go, and I think it works pretty well. So... I figured it was my turn to make one for you" Said Adrien. "You're so wonderful... Oh, uh- it's wonderful, what a charm! Uh... luck charm! I-I'll wear the charm um, with luck! Basically, um... thank you" Said Marinette.
In the background, Marinette's parents and Gina are watching, Sabine giggling
"Aww..." Said Tom.
Meanwhile, Hope and Emily are talking away from the party.
"So, how far are we along with the Akuma Tracking?" Said Emily. "We only have five data points, Emily. Down the road from Adrien's house, the Le Grand Paris, TVi Studios, the school and here. That's barely enough" Said Hope. "Come on, that's plenty" Said Emily. "Not when you add in Gabriel's own Akumatization. We're going to need an ironclad place of origin for the Akumas" Said Hope. "I suppose. But…" Said Emily. "I know. I don't feel good about having people being Akumatized" Said Hope.
Nino begins playing music again and people begin dancing. Marinette is with Tikki in the trees nearby, Marinette gazes at the bracelet Adrien gave her
"Do you realize? He made it specially for me, with his own hands. Adrien..." Said Marinette, dreamily. "Yeah, well, it's kind of a weird gift if you ask me" Said Tikki. "Heh, no weirder than yours, Tikki" Said Marinette,
Tikki is offended, but looks back at Marinette when Marinette holds out the kwagatama, now on a necklace around her neck
"But that doesn't mean they're not both precious to me" Said Marinette. "So you really did like the gift, then!" Declared Tikki.
Marinette tucks the kwagatama back down her shirt
"Of course I did. The most important thing about a present, Tikki, is the person who's giving it" Said Marinette.
