Warp Tour
—…
The day started at a Flower Meadow with the Crystal Gems returning to the Warp Pad in the middle of the field of flowers, discussing their latest Gem monster encounter. Garnet was behind the rest of the group holding a bubble that had a Gem inside.
"I can't believe that went so well!" Pearl said with a pleased look in her eyes as she walked beside Amethyst and Vergil.
"That was kinda great when you hit it with your spear, and it went, like, "bing-bong!" Amethyst complimented her while making explosion sounds.
Pearl blushed at her compliment. "And the way you were circling around it? Almost looked like strategy."
Amethyst laughed and blushed a little too. "Well, you know, I can do that stuff, too."
"Honestly, I'm just glad you guys are getting along for a change." Vergil commented with a satisfied expression. "All in all, this was a good day for us."
"Wait up…!" Garnet sent the bubbled Gem back to the temple as Steven emerged from the meadow with runny eyes and nose, making him barely able to open his eyes. Steven panted heavily as he spoke. "Sorry, I couldn't help much. I think the flowers are making me— Ah… Aaah…" He then sneezed at Garnet's hip. "Sorry, Garnet."
Garnet wiped off the snot. "I'll live."
"Hmm, I didn't think he'd be allergic to flowers." Vergil noted. "Or is it hayfever?"
"Oh, Steven, you're supposed to sneeze into your antecubital fossa." Pearl scolded him.
"My what?" Steven asked, confused.
"Your… This thing." Pearl pointed to her inner elbow.
"Elbow—It's called." Vergil informed her with half-lidded eyes as they all stepped on the Warp Pad.
Steven looked at his elbow as the Crystal Gems warp out.
As they traveled through the warp stream, Steven started to feel better now that he was away from the flowers, but not completely, as he felt the urge to sneeze again.)
"Do it at Pearl!" Amethyst laughed and pointed at Pearl.
Pearl cried out in panic. "Steven, your fossa!"
"Just say elbow!" Vergil told her, exasperated.
Steven looked down and sneezed downwards; while it saved the others from his snot, the force propelled him upward in the warp stream.
"Whoa! Wha?" Steven's head popped out of the warp stream; he breathed heavily before he opened his eyes and saw where he was. "Whoa."
Steven was able to see the Warp Space, cackling with flashes of lightning everywhere and many different streams following endlessly like currents. He then saw another warp stream carrying a small object through it.
"Huh?" Before Steven could think about what he saw, he felt himself being pulled back. "Whoa!"
Pearl had pulled Steven back into the stream by his leg. The nose around his nose was now frozen. "Careful! It's dangerous to stick your head out of the stream!"
"There's not much air, and it's very cold." Garnet explained as she flicked the frozen snot off Steven's nose.
"And it's pretty easy to get lost in there." Vergil added.
"You guys, I saw something out there!" Steven exclaimed.
"What?" Pearl asked curiously.
"Something warping!" Steven continued.
"Something besides us?" Vergil looked surprised. "Is that even possible?"
"Of course, it's not possible." Pearl quickly interjected. "Is your vision blurry from the pollen?"
"I can see perfectly…" Steven insisted while squinting his eyes. "Pearl? I know there's something out there!"
"There's nothing out there, Steven." Garnet concluded in a firm, cold, and resolved voice. "There hasn't been anything else for a long, long time."
Vergil was somewhat confused. Normally, he trusted the judgment of the Gems, especially Garnet, but given Steven's demeanor, he did believe he saw something. They just had no way of knowing what that something was and how it could be warping. No one could use the Warp Pads without the Gems… Right?
That night at the Beach House, Steven was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling and trying to sleep for the night but was unable to as he couldn't stop thinking about whatever it was he saw in the Warp Stream. Near him, Vergil was lying in his hammock and had no problem sleeping peacefully. Steven slowly drifts off to sleep but then snaps himself back awake. He turned to look at the Temple Gate's Warp Pad when a light suddenly shined, startling him.
"Aaah!" Steven hid under the covers. But it turns out that light only came from the glow of the refrigerator, and Amethyst was there munching on food. "Amethyst!"
"Hey, Steven! Want some macaroni cheese?" Amethyst while she continued munching.
"Ah…" Vergil yawned and woke up from the sounds of their voices and looked around. "What's going on?"
"Nothing, just grabbing a snack." Amethyst assured him.
Steven let out a sigh as Amethyst started returning back to the temple; he halted her. "W-wait! I can't sleep."
Amethyst turned around. "Why? Are you scared of that thing you saw warping right into the house and attacking you in your sleep?!"
"…No…?" Steven replied anxiously.
"Oh, good! Good!" Amethyst cheered as she backed into her room. "Nighty night! Don't let the warp monster bite!" She jokingly blew a raspberry and laughed loudly as her door closed.
Vergil sighed at her antics. "Why does she do that?"
Steven sighed as well before he got out of bed and armed himself with a water gun as walked down the stairs and stood on guard at the front door.
"What are you doing?" Vergil asked at the foot of the stairs.
"Preparing myself for whatever's out there." Steven said as he kept his eyes on the Warp Pad. "Looks like I'm not sleeping tonight."
Vergil knew this wasn't really a practical idea. Even so, he was never one to let Steven be alone, so he went down to the door and sat against it next to Steven. "I guess I'll stay awake, too, then."
"Really? You'll stay up with me?" Steven asked with hope. "All night?"
"All night long." Vergil promised him.
The sun rose the next morning, and while Vergil kept his promise to stay up all night, Steven was fast asleep, leaning against the front door, water gun in hand. While still awake, he was tired and let out a yawn. Looking up, he saw Pearl and Garnet approaching them while holding a tray of freshly baked cookies. Pearl kneeled in front of them and held the tray in front of Vergil.
"Good morning, Vergil." Pearl smiled softly.
Vergil yawned again. "Morning Pearl, Garnet. What are the cookies for?"
"We thought Steven could use some cheering up after yesterday." Garnet explained.
Pearl then crouched over to Steven. "Steven~" She cooed in a sing-song tone while lightly poking Steven on his forehead. "We've got a surprise for you~"
"Aah!" Steven abruptly woke up and shot the water gun at Pearl in panic. "Aaggh!"
Pearl let out a startled cry as she was hit by water and fell on the floor, thoroughly drenched and annoyed.
"Cut that out." Vergil snatched the water gun from him.
"Vergil?" Steven noticed his friend beside him, and the sleepiness in his eyes faded as he became aware of his surroundings. "Oh, Pearl."
Garnet revealed a tray of cookies behind her back as she remarked. "Now you're not getting any cookies."
"Cookies?!" Amethyst exclaimed as she emerged from her room. "I'll take 'em!"
Garnet whistled Amethyst over, and she grabbed the tray of cookies and gobbled them all up. "Slow down, Amethyst." Garnet advised her, but she ignored it.
"I'm sorry, Pearl." Steven said sincerely as he wiped the sleep from his eyes. "I just, I guess I didn't…"
"Didn't sleep." Garnet concluded.
Steven yawned with visible eye bags. "Maybe."
"Oh, you slept alright; I'm the one who didn't sleep." Vergil corrected him, slightly miffed. "You're lucky I take promises seriously."
"Yeah, sorry." Steen apologized again.
"Oh, Steven!" Pearl wiped some of the water out of her eyes. "This isn't about the thing you think you saw outside the warp stream yesterday, is it?"
Amethyst tossed the cookie tray away, making a loud "clang" and startling the others. "Don't do that!" Vergil scolded her.
"But it was real! Something was warping somewhere in the warp!" Steven insisted on their disregard of his claim.
Pearl interrupted him by putting both of her hands on Steven's cheeks, making him look at her. "Listen." She said slowly and firmly. "Nothing on Earth can use the warps but us. Do you understand?" Steven looked away, not willing to agree. "Steven, nod in agreement if you understand. Nod in agreement—"
"Pearl." Vergil interrupted her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I don't think he's going to nod."
Garnet stepped in as well. "I'm confident Pearl is right. But if it will make you feel better, we can just go check."
Steven removed Pearl's hands from his cheeks and nodded, smiling gratefully.
Their first stop was warping back to the field of flowers. The Gems arrived and looked around but saw nothing different compared to the last time they were there.
"Nothing unusual." Garnet said with her hands on her hips. Steven let out another sneeze. "Bless you."
The Crystal Gems kept warping to every Warp Pad on Earth and checking every previous mission location they could. Each time, they found nothing. Their final destination was the Sky Spire. Only for there to be nothing unusual yet again.
"Whoa! Now that's something!" Amethyst exclaimed as she pointed at something. It was none other than the goat they met last tie that Steven had named Steven Jr. nearby, with a pair of baby boats. One lying on the back of its parent while the other was frolicking around. "Heh. Steven Jr.'s been busy." She laughed as she turned to Steven. "This makes you a grandpa!"
Garnet rubbed Steven's head gently. "Congratulations."
"Huh, I never thought they'd bread in a secluded place like that?" Vergil rubbed his chin.
"Hey!" Steven shooed off Garnet's hand. "We're getting off task here!"
"We've looked all over! There's nothing out here to find!" Pearl said in slight frustration.
Steven mumbled and rolled his eyes. "But you're wrong."
"Excuse me?!" Pearl asked with an appalled expression.
Steven looked at Pearl in surprise. "I-I mean—"
"Nothing on Earth can use these warps but us!" Pearl reminded him loudly.
"Well, what if it came from space?" Steven asked tentatively
"I—…" Pearl cut herself off and pursed her lips at him. "—Don't appreciate your tone."
"Well, we should at least check it out." Vergil reasoned.
The Crystal Gems warped again, and this time they warped to the Galaxy Warp. The last place they hadn't scoped out yet. When they arrived, Pearl walked toward the Homeworld warp, the largest of the Warp Pads.
"These are the warps that once connected us to other planets. If something tried to come from space, it would be through here. But wait!" She said in mocking, dramatic surprise, spinning around to face the boys. "This Warp Pad is broken'!' Marked inactive by the very "depressed" cartoon breakfast sticker you placed here yourself!" With a glare, she pointed at the Wailing Waffle sticker that Steven had placed there weeks ago.
Amethyst walked up to Steven and nuzzled against him. "Look, Pearl's right, like usual. Ugh! You get used to it."
Garnet placed her hand on Steven's head, which he quickly grabbed away.
"We're safe." She told him with a soft smile.
Though still uneasy, Steven submitted to the Gems' claims. "Well, I guess so."
Steven walked up to the Homeworld Pad and placed his hand beside the Crying Breakfast Friends sticker, still unhappy, while the Gems sighed in relief.
"Oh, man! Finally! That took all day." Amethyst exclaimed.
"It was important to make Steven feel secure." Garnet's statement made Steven upset.
"Yes, Steven feels much better now." Pearl said, somewhat incoherent.
Steven got angrier and angrier the more they spoke. "I'm a little tired… Of you guys telling me how I feel!" Steven told them, his voice laced with anger. "I know I saw something outside the stream!"
"And I know you didn't!" Pearl retorted just as incensed. But Steven didn't back down as the two of them started arguing.
[You don't tell me what I already know!/Why is it so hard to just "listen to Steven"? You don't care what I have to say! You just want to do it your way!]
Amethyst and Garnet both look at each other.
"Uh, this is new. I kind of like it." Amethyst remarked with a chuckle.
"I've had enough." Vergil muttered as he walked forward.
Pearl rolled her eyes. "Steven, you just don't know what you're talking about."
"It sounds like… Maybe… YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Steven shouted, his voice echoing through the Galaxy Warp.
"Ugh!" Pearl was so frustrated with him that she let out an angered scoff and was about to get into another argument when Vergil walked past her.
BAM!
Vergil stood in front of Steven and slugged him in the face with a right punch that knocked him off his feet. The Gems were shocked and couldn't believe their eyes at what he had just done. Steven himself was the most shocked as he looked up and saw his usually gentle and composed friend gazing at him with a look of complete frustration and irritation.
"You keep acting like you're the only one who's upset. We're the ones who should be upset here!" Vergil snapped at him. "You're tired of others telling you how to feel? Why wouldn't they? Considering all this was for you?! We did all of this for you; everything single thing we did today was for you to fully get a grip, and now you have the nerve to be mad at us for it! What more do you want!?"
"I…" Steven wasn't comfortable talking to him when he was like this. "I just want them to listen to me…"
"Listen to you?" Vergil repeated mockingly. "After you dragged us all over the world for nothing?"
"It wasn't for nothing. It was to find the thing in the stream." Steven argued.
"Oh right, I had forgotten the mysterious "thing"!" Vergil sarcastically responded. "The one that only you saw and have no evidence of its existence and yet insisted we check every Warp Pad on the planet to find, even though you yourself don't even know what it was or what it looks like! That thing?"
Steven just looked away unhappily, not able to answer that.
Vergil let out an exsperated sigh. "Steven, we've searched; I'm exhausted; I haven't slept in almost 20 hours. How much longer do you plan to keep this up?"
Garnet then got in between Steven and Vergil and placed a hand on his head. "Okay, both of you, that's enough. Let it go." Garnet told Steven before telling Vergil. "You're not yourself right now. Let's go home."
Later that night, back at the Beach House, Steven was still sitting in front of the Warp Pad with red bloodshot eyes and was still in a state of unrest, while Vergil was resting peacefully upstairs. It had been hours since they had returned, but Steven still couldn't stop worrying about it. He was also using a fork to eat out of a large bowl of plain macaroni.
Soon enough, Amethyst exited her room and saw Steven sitting in front of the Warp Pad, still in his tired state.
"Hey, dude." She waved.
An exhausted Steven looked up at Amethyst briefly, then back to the Warp Pad.
Amethyst walked up to Steven. "You still on about that thing in the stream?" Steven merely shrugged in response. "Uh, whatcha eating?" She pointed at a bowl on Steven's lap.
"Macaroni and nothing." Steven answered bitterly as he ate a spoonful of macaroni.
Amethyst groaned and walked past him. "Ugh, whatever. We can hang out again when you stop being such a sad sack." She finished by walking out of the front door and closed door it behind her.
Steven watched her leave before he groaned and threw his hands up. "Ugh! Why am I doing this? Fine. I give up!" He yelled to the house. "Steven was wrong, and everyone else was right! Nothing's going to come through that Warp Pad!"
"And talking to yourself isn't going to make you feel better."
Steven looked up and saw Vergil up the stairs as he came down and stood in front of him. "Oh, I woke you up, didn't I?"
"Well, I slept away some of my fatigue." Vergil said, calmer than before. "Now I can think straight again."
Steven sighed at sat down. "I'm sorry about snapping at you and the Gems earlier."
"I snapped too." Vergil wasn't upset. "That's what happens when you're sleep-deprived, it's harder to think straight, and anything can set you off, like when things don't go the way you wanted them to."
Steven looked down and hesitated to ask. "Did… Did you believe me when I said I saw something?"
"I did… At first." Vergil clarified. "I figured if something might have been out there, we should find out."
"And now?" Steven asked further.
"And now—If something really is out there, no amount of searching or staring at the Warp Pad will find it. Remember, you first saw it by accident." Vergil reminded it. "It's something we'll just come across by looking around. We'll probably have to wait for it to make itself known to us."
"But how long will that take?" Steven asked again.
"Who knows? We can't just expect to wrap this up overnight." Vergil advised him. "We have to be practical. If there is something out there, it might be a while before we see it again."
Just then, a spherical object suddenly crashes through the ceiling of the house and onto the floor. Both boys looked to see what it was. It looked like a smooth, light-green orb. It slowly activates, revealing to be a robot; four-cylinder extensions protruded from its body and acted like legs as it walked towards the Warp Pad.
"I stand corrected." Vergil said, agasped.
Steven started laughing hysterically as he approached the robot. "You were the thing in the warp stream!" He exclaimed as he looked at the hole in the ceiling. "You did come from space!" Then he gasped. "You're trying to get to the warp pad, aren't ya?"
"This is like those movies where the crazy guy turned out to be right." Vergil muttered.
The robot was trying to get around Steven, who was blocking its path. "Amethyst, come back! Oof!" He called out before the robot suddenly and violently pounced at Steven, knocking him back and landing on his chest.
"Steven!" Vergil ran up to him and tried to pull the robot off.
Steven still couldn't get over his excitement. "I knew it. I did see something!"
The robot then opened a hatch on its front and revealed a small cannon.
Steven ignored it for now and called out. "Guys, I was right! Waah!"
The robot fired its cannon and shot out green goo at him. Vergil lifted to robot up and pointed the cannon away from Steven before they both pinned it to the floor.
"This isn't the time for that!" Vergil exclaimed, holding down the robot. "We gotta figure out what to do with this thing."
"That's why we need the Gems." Steven reasoned before calling out again. "Guys! Come on, check this out!"
"Seriously though, where are they?!" Vergil was starting to get impatient at the Gems' lack of attendance.
The robot then attacked Steven with its legs. "Ow!" Before it could hit him again, he grabbed one of its legs and threw it at the Warp Pad, cracking both the robot and the Warp Pad.
"Aah! Sorry!" Steven told the robot.
"Don't apologize. It was attacking us." Vergil reminded him.
The damaged robot then got up on shaky legs and revealed the purpose of the goo by fixing the crack of the Warp Pad, spraying the green goo at it, and then began to activate it.
"Huh…? Oh no, you don't!" Steven charged at the robot and leaped at it as it landed on the Warp Pad.
"Steven, don't let go!" Vergil shouted as he used his speed to reach him and held onto the robot as well.
The two of them and the robot were lifted in the air as the warp stream started to activate beneath the Warp Pad. "Garnet! Amethyst! Pearl—!" He was cut off as the stream disappeared.
Steven and Vergil held onto the robot as they were warped away and traveled through the warp stream. "Where are you going?!" Steven called out in confusion and desperation.
"Steven, look!" Vergil called out in alarm.
His alarm came from the fact that many more robot spheres appeared inside the warp stream.
"Huh? You-You're coming from all over?" Steven asked before the robot started attacking them. "Ow! Hey! Stop it! Whoa!"
"What are they doing?!" Vergil called out as they were piling all over them in an attempt to shove him out of the warp stream.
"I don't know!" Suddenly, Steven's head was forced out, and like before, he could see all of the other warp streams in the Warp Space, only this time, he saw every other warp stream transporting more robots toward a single destination.
Seeing this, Steven struggled to force himself back into the warp stream. "Unnhhh! I won't… let you…"
Steven was now back inside the stream, and Vergil saw him struggling while also on the verge of being shoved out of the stream. "Ugh! Steven, what did you see out there?!"
"I saw—Unh!"
Steven was cut off as the robot fully managed to shove him and Vergil out of the warp stream. Steven and Vergil began floating away in the Warp Space, still clutching a robot they found at the temple.
Steven gasped for breath and shivered as he was still unable to breathe in the Warp Space, and the coldness was setting in. "I was right." Steven chuckled weakly as he looked up as saw all the warp streams converging at the top and many robots warping through them. "And now I'm gonna die…"
"Don't say that." Vergil retorted while he didn't have trouble breathing because he could survive without air, the cold was making it hard for him to move around, and he couldn't use his wings because that would require letting go of the robot and letting Steven loose. "Just hang on; we'll think of something."
"Sorry, Vergil…" Steven let out weak breaths of air. "I wanted so badly to… Be right… That I dragged you into it… And now I'm just… A tired… Frozen little… Sad sack." The coldness was really setting in as parts of his body started to freeze in ice as his eyes slowly closed.
"Steven." Vergil honestly didn't know what to do anymore as he let out a pained whisper. "Hold on… Hold… On."
This felt like the end, there seemed to be no way out of his dire predicament, and all seemed lost. But at the last minute, a warp stream then activated behind them, and a pair of large hands reached out of the warp stream and pulled the boys inside to safety. The hands were revealed to belong to Garnet. Once inside, Garnet held them both tightly, and they both reciprocated as Steven wept, shivered, and deeply gasped for air.
"Take deep breaths." Garnet advised him.
Steven did so as the ice on his body melted away. Vergil looked up at her, never so happy to see her as he asked. "How did you find us?"
"I had a vision." She answered as she took the robot from their grasp. "So, this is what you saw."
Steven looked up at her tearfully. "I don't care about that!"
"I do." Garnet replied as she adjusted her visor and wiped away a tear. "I should've listened to you." She smiled at him. "You're a Crystal Gem, too." Steven smiled in contentment at Garnet. Then she looked over at Vergil. "You protected Steven and held out until we arrived; I'm proud of you."
Vergil gave her a smile of gratitude at those words and let go of her.
"Steven! Vergil!" Soon enough, Pearl and Amethyst caught up with them in the warp stream, and Pearl wrapped her arms around Vergil as though she was afraid to let him go. "Are you both okay?! Amethyst heard the Warp Pad activate, and Garnet said you were floating outside the stream and…Uh?" Pearl stopped and gasped when she saw the robot in Garnet's hand. "…What is that?
"You don't know?" Steven was surprised that they wouldn't recognize it.
Amethyst tapped Pearl's shoulder. "Woah, that thing's far out."
"It's some kind of space robot. There were tons of them. And it looked like they were all going to the same place." Steven explained.
"And I think we're about to find out where that place is." Vergil noted as they were reaching the end of the stream.
After traveling through the warp stream, the Crystal Gems arrived at where the robots were heading, which was the Galaxy Warp. Before they could question anything, the robot in Garnet's hand escaped and walked up toward the Warp Pad to Homeworld, joining several other robots. The Crystal Gems ran forward and saw all the robots spraying green goo on the Homeworld warp.
"What are they doing to the Homeworld warp?!" Pearl asked with growing worry.
"There's a million of them!" Amethyst remarked with wide eyes.
They watched as the Homeworld Pad was covered in goo. After the robots backed off, the goo started to solidify. And then the liquid vanished into a sparkle of particles. With that, the Homeworld Warp appeared good as new, with all damages repaired.
"They fixed it?!" Amethyst was utterly bewildered.
"Just like back at the temple?" Vergil realized.
"What does that mean?" Steven asked curiously as the Gems exchanged nervous glances.
Pearl jumped in. "Ah—" She cut herself off as she looked at the others. In the end, she was completely lost. "I… Don't know!"
There was no more time for questions as the Homeworld Warp suddenly began to activate for the first time in ages, and the Gems let out a gasp in shock and horror. Garnet quickly grabbed Steven, Vergil, Pearl, and Amethyst and hid behind a tall rock. They watched as an unknown Gem arrived, looked around, and lightly stomped on the Homeworld Warp. This new Gem didn't show any sigh of emotion.
Pearl whispered nervously. "Who is that?"
"No idea." Garnet whispered back as they continued to watch this Gem from a safe distance.
Lifting her hand, the new Gem had four floating fingers and repositioned them to create an electronic screen littered with data that no human could understand. Log date, 3 1 2." Using her finger to navigate through the data, the Gem spoke in a cold, calculating tone as one of the robots crawled up onto her shoulder. "This is Peridot, performing Earth hub maintenance check.
"Peridot." Steven repeated with a small smile as he glanced up at the other Gems. "Her name is Peridot."
Pearl and Amethyst quickly covered his mouth as Peridot continued speaking. "Warp repair a success. All 79 Flask Robonoids deployed and accounted for. Preparing to locate and manually reactivate Kindergarten—"
As Peridot was doing her work, she paused and looked down and felt something against her leg. Looking down, she saw the Flask Robonoid that was damaged by Steven as it tried to crawl up Peridot's leg but fell off and rolled back and forth.
Steven peeked out and had a charming smile "Aww. The little ones are like her babies."
But he was wrong as Peridot looked annoyed and stepped on the damaged Flask Robonoid. She pressed her heel against it and kept pressing harder and harder until it was crushed under her foot, and with a loud popping noise, it exploded, causing goo to burst out everywhere.
Steven gasped loudly but quickly covered his mouth. Pearl and Amethyst raised their hands to pull Steven back in hiding, but he waved his hand at both of them and got back down himself.
Peridot went back to her screen. "Now to access the domestic warp." She walked down the steps of the Homeworld Warp but then stopped. "Huh?" Looking down, Peridot saw the Crying Breakfast Friends sticker on the Homeworld Warp and picked it up. She looked confused by it before looking around suspiciously. "This site may have been compromised."
Peridot wasted no time in returning back to the Homeworld Warp and warped away, leaving a glowing green stone device behind. The stone started beeping after she left and then detonated, deactivating all the Flask Robonoids, causing them to all go limp and fall down around the Warp Pad. The Crystal Gems then came out of hiding.
"They're coming back. I can't do this." Pearl said in a shaky voice, covering her face in fear. "Not again!"
"We're dead! We are so dead!" Amethyst cried out hysterically.
"What are you guys talking about?" Vergil was worried; he had never seen the Gems like this before. "What's going on?"
"Was that another Gem?" Steven anxiously asked the Gems. "Where did she come from? What was she trying to do?"
"It doesn't matter." Garnet told him in a dark tone as she summoned her gauntlets. They all watched in alarm as Garnet enlarged her gauntlets to a giant size. She then held them high above the Warp Pad and, with a heavy, powerful swing, brought down both of her fists and smashed the Homeworld Warp. Completely destroying it once again. She turned back toward the others with a serious and finalized expression. "She's not coming back!"
And that's the chapter.
First of all, I didn't mean to take such a long break from this story. It's just that all my other stories get so much more feedback, and the readers are so impatient that I couldn't break away for a while. I'll try to avoid any more long breaks.
This chapter didn't have much changes to go on, but it was pretty straightforward, considering the main point was the ending. Also, the part where Steven and Vergil had their argument was something I felt like adding. I believe Steven snapped at the Gems because he was sleep deprived, and when you go without sleep for so long, you tend to be easily set off and angrily say things you wouldn't normally say. So since Steven uncharacteristically snapped at the Gems, I decided to have Vergil do the same with Steven considering he had gone without sleep longer than Steven.
Anyways, thanks for reading hope you enjoyed. If you want more, then be sure to leave a review. If you like the story, click follow or favorite, and as always, have an awesome day.
