To say the following morning was a big event, was an understatement. The ultimate family was getting ready, Terra was doing his usual routine of handstand-push-ups psyching himself up for later, and Aqua was in the castle's kitchen making her daughter's favorite breakfast of Cinnamon rolls, with icing. Sora playfully drew small animals and figures in a handful of flour that Aqua accidentally knocked over. She was being a little careless trying her best to not think about the test, or the fact of going all out against Ven.
"Hey Mom, do you think Uncle Ven will be ok, I mean he's gonna be fighting you and Dad. Does he have a chance, or is Master Eraqus thinking he'll win? After all, you and Dad are the best here, so there's no way you can lose." Sora asked, looking up at her mother, as she got up for a broom and dustpan, for the mess after quickly getting bored with flour art.
"Well, what I think is Ven might not win of course, but he might do good enough for the masters to let him be considered a master quicker than normal. But given how he acted last night, anything's possible, that tornado spell was strong, and Ven has been putting in the work, so we'll just wait and see." Aqua told her daughter, quickly putting a tray of rolls into the oven, and proceeding to clean the corner of dishes and food, humming gently remembering a song she had long ago.
"I guess that's true, hey Mom I'm gonna go check on Dad, and see if Grandpa's doing ok. Save me a roll or two when I get back." Sora let out, running off into the empty halls of the Land of Departure, ready to chat with her father after roughly five minutes of running, sure she was hoping it would take five minutes. Living in a castle for four years, and having no clue of the layout was bullshit in her opinion, whoever designed the place should have been shot.

"Terra, may I come in?" Master Eraqus asked as he knocked on the door, looking at his son finally done with his handstands. Terra glanced over at the master, and simply nodded, as he flipped over and onto his feet. Making Erquas look up at his son, already having doubts about this conversation.
"So what do you wanna talk about, Master, or is it a fatherly visit?" Terra asked, knowing this was about his and Aqua's time in Remeant, and the Mark of Mastery exam in an hour.
"I thought it would be best to come to you first before Aqua, as I know her time with Sora is important. I know you have darkness in your heart, Terra how have you controlled it, please tell me your secret.
"You have a pair of Chaos Ripper keyblades, and you know those blades are meant for keyblade wielders with a vast amount of darkness in their hearts. Your heart should be bathed in darkness, and the land around you should be in ruin from the power you hold." Erquas said, giving his son a look that screamed nervously, and angry.
"so I'm guessing it wasn't a fatherly visit!" Terra sighed, rubbing his hair, as Master Erquas noticed the specks of amber in his son's eyes.
"I wish it was, but I have to know as your master if you pose a threat to this land, other worlds, to your family." Erquas declared, as his throat grew dry, the air around him was growing thicker, and heavier, the master could only look at his son, eyes full of amber, anger, and rage overtaking his face, as he looked at the man with intent of striking him down, and seeing his guts splat the walls, with the room coated in blood for the words spoken to him.
"Terra!" Erquas choked out, as he summoned his keyblade the master defender, raising it, only for Terra to grab it without any hesitation.
"I'll say this once, master and I won't repeat myself, if you dare say that I'm a threat to my wife and daughter, I will end you in a heartbeat. I would gladly sacrifice my body, my life, and my soul to save them from anything that would harm them, even you if I must!" Terra said, lowering the amount of darkness in the room, to a more breathable level for the master. Causing Erquas to run off, his mind was in a panic over what his son was, no his son was dead, that creature of darkness wasn't his son. His son died that day they left him, and Xehanort for the world of Remnant.
"That family must die to protect the fate of the worlds!" Erquas whispered as he ran past Xehanort not noticing the man was there, and heard everything. Xehanort grinned at this new information, walked over to Terra's room, and knocked gently, smelling the powerful aroma of darkness lingering in the room. If it wasn't for Ven's being thicker and his body more younger. Terra would have been a perfect vessel for the aging master.
"I must say, you have changed, Master Terra! Putting old Erquas on edge, not many people can do that, I'm impressed. So would you care to talk about it?" Xehanort asked, putting on a more innocent smile, as he watched the man, his body tensed, his arms shook, and his amber eyes closed for a brief moment, as calm green ones took their place, Terra quickly took breaths attempting to calm himself down.
"My, my, how are you in control over all that darkness, that anger, it must be quite the burden to carry so much power, and hold it back Tell me how are you controlling all of this anger and rage." Xehanort questioned, smiling, as Terra sat down on his giant bed, looking down at the old man. His plan was working, soon he'd understand this version of Terra, and his family more, and adjust his plans if needed.
"I'm not in control if that's what you're asking! The only reason I'm still me, and not a berserk psychopath, is all thanks to Mistress Salem. She helped me control my semblance, and aura when me and Aqua visited her at Beacon after an incident we had in Patch, when my keyblades formed and I lost myself for a moment!" Terra responded, summoning one of the large swords, the stench of darkness made the air in the room feel even heavier, causing Xehanort to feel nothing to the familiar darkness, only reminding him of his youth and the day his classmates were taken from him.
"Terra, what was the incident, and what is a semblance and aura, what do you have?" Xehanort wondered, as he began piecing things together, this semblance was probably tied to his control of the darkness, and gave him some control, or at least a limit to keep him from breaking everything.
"The incident was a few years ago, Sora was probably three or four years old at that point, we were living happily in a place called Patch. We had a small house, I was working as a woodsman, and Aqua was a pastry chef working under a friend of ours named Hina Hinzaki. We had recently moved to the small town from a place called Mistreal, right after Aqua and I got married, and took her parent's name Kizuna, as it was a tradition in Aqua's family." Terra said, letting go of his keyblade, and allowing the master to breathe again, knowing he'd have some thoughts so far.
"Married, that's quite impressive, with a kid to boot, the joys of youth must be fun for you right now. Well, I imagine it will be once you're given the freedom to travel, after the Mark of Mastery exam. I do have one more question but I'll save it for the end of your story. Please continue, my boy." Xehanort said, scratching his bald head, the tale was getting interesting to the keyblade master, and the funny thing was he knew of Remnant the whole time, grinning for a second at the moment Vor tossed her first boulder.
"My semblance gives me the ability to control and limit my darkness, as long as I have my aura around me. It's the reason I'm still in control of my actions, my aura is like a shield, capable of reducing damage and healing me, but if it gets broken then I am at my strongest and my most dangerous." Terra declared as he watched the master's eyes widen at this newfound information.
"I see, this is why the cracks in Master Erquas' psyche were broken so easily, he is afraid of your power, and he's afraid of what you'll have in the future. I know last night he was worried about you seeing your little fight with Ventus, and I'm guessing you awakened these powers, those keyblades, during this incident on Patch. I can also assume that the same was the case for Aqua, and possibly Sora?" Xehanort asked, rubbing his beard, thinking about what could have happened to cause all of these things.
"That's close enough to the truth, we tried fighting the Grimm for the first time after avoiding them, letting the hunters fight, and we continue to be a happy family. But one day a pair of local kids named Ruby and Yang had gone missing, so we offered to join the search. After hours of looking, we found them surrounded by an army of Beowolfs and a Nevermore. In the end, countless men, women, hunters, and huntresses were injured, or killed in the line of duty as a result of fighting the Grimm. Whatever happened that day, those Grimm were solely focused on those little girls.
"I don't know why they acted so differently, but it was like the Grimm had to kill those poor kids to survive, like how any animal with fear acts towards a human. During the ongoing fight, I and Aqua had developed our powers and slayed the Grimm, at the cost of Ruby's father jumping in to save my life when the Nevermore nearly killed me, the next thing I knew I had lost control of myself killing the Nevermore. My powers, my anger evolved and morphed due to the influence of the world." Terra said, as tears rolled down his face, and Master Xehanort could see it in the man's face, he was blaming himself for something he couldn't have stopped.
"You know you'll have to move on or face those girls one day if that's what's needed! You know that right Terra!" Xehanort stated, placing a hand on Terra's shoulder, proceeding to walk away silently, exiting the room, turning to see a blur of blue hair, and smiling. Today was getting interesting, and Xehanort couldn't wait to see the fruits of Terra's darkness impact his family.
—--
Sora could smell it, the overwhelming power of her father's darkness, her skin began to crawl, and her hands started shaking in fear at the thought of her father's might. But she had to push past the fear and nervousness, he was her father, and she would love him no matter what. So she put on her biggest smile possible and pushed her long blue hair behind her shoulders entering her parent's bedroom.
"Dad, I'm back, hey have you been crying again, do I need to get Mom, so she can use a sleep spell on you again?" Sora questioned, hugging her oversized father with all her might, was it grandpa or was he still thinking about Yang and Ruby, again?
"No, I'll be ok, Daddy just having a bad morning, due to your Grandpa, and his words. He just doesn't like the power Daddy holds, and it makes him scared, I don't blame him." Terra said, his voice barely above a whisper, as he held his daughter closer, relishing in the comfort she brought. His family gave him the strength to keep going, it was their endless compassion that made Terra try to accept his new power, his new look. Seeing his father hurt him harder than any Beowulf claw or sword stab. It made him, and Aqua feel like the weakest of humans, back before magic spells, guns, and them being happy with each other's company.
"He thinks you're a monster, isn't it? Sora whispered, as she gently let go of her father, and grabbed his hand. His hand was soft, despite its massive size, but in Sora's opinion that's what made her believe her parents weren't monsters, hell they'd be normal by Rem's standards, sure they were around seven feet tall, muscular and they were faunuses. But it felt right for them, and seeing how they acted outside of their true home made Sora wish the test would come sooner.
They'd be free of this prison, and back to being the best family out in all of the worlds. They'd become fanuses again, a pair of tall, overpowered cat fanuses, strong enough to defy anything in their way, and could follow their dreams of being hunters and huntresses, finding to protect humanity, and faunus kind. Sure it was probably stupid and greedy compared to the keyblade, but it's what the family felt was the outcome for their lives.
"I don't think you're a monster, if anything, I think, our lives got better the moment we stopped being human, and became something a little better. But that's my opinion, so let's get you up off that bed dear, or am I gonna have to drag you out with the help of our daughter?" Aqua declared, laughing as she crouched into the room, setting down a plate of Cinnamon rolls on the small nightstand, Sora immediately gravitated towards the sugary delight.
"I guess you're right, I should be more mindful of my emotions, and what people think about me. Also, you might wanna tone down the anti-human stuff, I thought Hina and Kali taught you better than that." Terra said with a slight grin, making his wife blush, gently poking the tips of her fingernails.
"Hey, Hina occasionally joked about how we must have still been humans, and Kali is still part of the White Fang, protesting her heart out to give our people better rights, and equality. We might be humans again, but you know it's only temporary." Aqua chuckled, rubbing her husband's hair where his adorable cat ears once appeared to the world.
"Sora, once we get to Remnant or a different world, this magic will end, so I expect you to be on your best behavior, my little furball." Aqua said, grabbing a cinnamon roll, off of the plate and gently took a bite, proceeding to hand her husband a roll. Sora gave her mother a thumbs up, going for what was probably a third roll.
"You're right, today has to be a good day, you'll find a way to make it right, even if I have to kick my wife's ass." Terra jokes, making Aqua nearly choke on her second roll.
"Oh really, we'll get a good look at this ass, 'cause it'll be the last thing you see when I beat you."Aqua whispered, playfully walking over to their dresser, slowly and playfully.
"Hey can you hold off on the dirty talk until after I'm done eating, I swear you guys are just as bad as Hina sometimes. Like, get a room for fucks sake." Sora choked out, quickly grabbing some water from the bathroom sink, trying not to throw up her breakfast this early in the morning.
"Well, this is our room, and I don't recall our style of humor being an issue when we lived on Patch, or with the Belladonna's when we first arrived. Besides we know you'd be all over Coco in the future, I still remember the looks you've given her." Aqua blurred out, making her daughter's face turn redder than a tomato.
"Mom!" Sora yelled, causing her parents to laugh, today was gonna be a good day, well once they got into some real clothes and enjoyed the warm air blowing, as May was upon them.
—--
"Tell me, Erquas, was that necessary, poking at your son like that? Xehanort said, pointing to his old friend, Erquas, to grab the nearest bottle of whiskey, taking a big swallow to calm his nerves.
"It was the only way to know the danger we're up against. That man's heart is blackened by violence, bitterness, and desperation. I can't keep up the facade of being his father, let alone his master for much longer. I just don't know what to do, Aqua, and that monster, aren't the same students I had a decade ago." Erquas stated, taking another shot, desperately needing his friend's advice on the matter.
"Well, from what I felt in the lad's darkness, we've had years to see if our little "experiment" would be fruitful. While the results are in question if our students will pose a threat. For now, I can say Terra isn't a threat to the world order as long as his family is together. So them not being masters isn't a wise option, knowing them, they'd run off anyway. So if you wanna kill them, wait till their weakest point. But for now, our next move is critical." Xehanort summed up, taking a sip of the alcoholic beverage, relishing in the notion of Erquas giving into fear, it was perfect in his plans.
"Tell you what Erquas, make them Masters, it'll keep the worlds safe long enough for us to reset the universe, and create our true timeline. It might be the only way to save our friends, as well as your son." Xehanort said grinning, seeing the fears and doubts of Erquas begin to dim, as the pair made their way to the throne room, soon the Mark of Mastery was upon them, and their ultimate plan would be in motion.
So chapter 2 is finally here, yeah So the best family was Faunus while on Remnant, and Sora x Coco is a thing. Did I have to make Terra, and Aqua, seven feet tall and kinda muscular? But it felt funny and kinda fits given how this story has keyblades, Tifa, Samus Aran, and so much shit it's unreal.
So I put thought into it and said Fuck it, let's go nuts.
