A/N: Quadruple update today. Took a lot out me, but I had to update something fun, lest I lost my mind.

Running to the Edge and Claws of a Lion need more time.

Slifer's helping me with Blood Upon the Snow; I definitely need it.

In other news depression's starting to hit real hard these days. Like a sledgehammer paired with concrete.

Sometimes I wonder why I do anything at all. can't claim to understand what's going wrong with my head anymore.

I don't even know why I'm feeling this way! One moment I'm fine, then my mood craters for a few hours, then I'm back again for a bit, and the cycle repeats. On and on, round the bend, forever and without end! Its rather annoying; as though I've become a prisoner in my own mind sometimes. Sure, what's one more mental problem on the pile. Not like I don't have enough, what with already being this old. Feels like every day is a battle sometimes. Meanwhile, my doctor insists that I'm fine. Take a health walk he says. Go fishing. You'll be fine.

*siiiigh*

Right. Suuuure.

Don't bloody feel fine, doc.

As ever, I own no quotes, references, quotes, themes or memes! They're simply tributes to legends far greater than I.

I'm just an old man who writes as a pastime. I don't make any money doing this, not a single cent.

Hope you're ready for this

"In the end, it has to be this way."

Nothing Personal

"You're...immortal?"

Naruto exhaled in a hearty sigh, reached behind his back, and found his dangling neck with both hands. Grasping it, he hefted it upright and planted it back on his shoulders. Flesh healed seamlessly, smoldering itself shut as he turned to face his opponent. Her fear amused him, the raw, sudden terror in those wide red eyes.

...in a sense."

Of course she was scared. She'd just seen him reattach his head like it was nothing. He never quite got over that. The moment, the rush, that split second of disbelief realized he was better than them and they were going to die. It got better every time. Almost made it worth taking all these injuries.

He turned to face her, the Relic of Knowledge swinging lazily on his belt.

"I told you to walk away out of it, bandit queen. But you didn't listen." he cracked his neck with a sigh. "You just had to be greedy. And now you gotta die. "Its nothing personal. Just good business, ya know?"

His stepped in, slapped her blade aside with contemptuous ease and formed one with his hand and stabbed a hand down to pierce her chest.

She gurgled in surprise. A red line ran down her lips. Still, he didn't relent. His fingers found her heart. Squeezed, with incredible force. He felt it burst in his grasp. For all her taunts, the illustrious Raven Branwen didn't even have time to gasp, or even beg for mercy. Her end was as unremarkable as her cowardly life, and ended just as abruptly.

She choked once, then slumped, dead before she hit the dirt.

Naruto tore it free and stomped away, leaving her.

The last she saw of him was his boots.

"What kinda weapon is that?! How did you even MAKE that thing?!"

"Hehehe, chakra go brrrrr!"

"That's not how weapons work!"

It was a clean strike. Through and through, with no hope of recovery. He'd pierced her heart.

She was dying. They both knew it. So why did she look so proud of him?

A trembling hand came up to cup his cheek. "That's...my boy...

"Daddy, why are you leaving?"

Because he had to. This was for the best.

She'd never be safe otherwise. The world wouldn't let her be.

"Take care of her, Qrow."

...I will. You sure about this? That's hell you're walking into."

"I know. And I will." He pulled the surly old drunkard into a bruising hug. "...see you around."

"Dadddy, no!" his daughter went berserk in her uncle's arms. "Please! Don't go! You said you wouldn't! Not like mom! You promised!

He closed his heart to her cries and walked away.

...sorry, petal."
